I went to Missy based on a friend's recommendation after my previous colorist had colored my hair the opposite of what I wanted. She responded immediately to an inquiry through yelp. She was so helpful in scheduling an appointment ASAP. I've now seen her for cut and colors and am totally happy. Her prices are great and she's quick. She's very friendly and makes you feel comfortable from the beginning. You can book on style seat which saves me. I always remember to call salons on Monday when they are closed. Loved this salon! I had purchased a groupon here with Mandy which is how I heard about this place... obviously I checked the reviews and they were all great so I had to try it... that and I desperately needed a haircut! I was able to make an appointment easily, Mandy fit me in within 48 hours of me calling which was great! I arrived a little early and Mandy was getting ready, but saw me right on time for my appointment! She was so sweet, and actually listened to what I said I wanted done and did just that! I was very pleased with the outcome of my hair, and left feeling like a model after she styled it up! I will definitely be coming back to Mandy for all my future haircuts in town! As far as the salon, it's small and cute. There are about 6-8 different chairs. There were a few other stylists there as well and all seemed very nice. Yooo this place messes my whole head up. I had a family member recommended me this place and I am NOT from the area like an idiot I went for it and left me completely BOTCHED. I had to walk completely screw up for 2 weeks. It was completely UNFAIR. Did get what I asked for nor did I get a good cut. nether. The worse way to start 2020 TBH. The girl that did my hair was very unprofessional. She was borderline rude when talking about my hair. What really irritated me is that her nails (came about an inch after her fingertip) kept scratching me! I don't even think she realized she was doing it. Also, as she was waving the blow dryer to dry my hair she bumped it into me 3 times. I was starting to think she was doing it on purpose. She talked about cutting my hair straight across. I told her I specially did not want that. Sure enough, when I look in the mirror at the end, it is cut straight across. The color is ok although it's not what I had asked for. She drained my hair straight and asked if she could straighten it. I told her I would prefer she didn't because I didn't want the extra heat on it. She coninuted to say she needed to to take an afternoon picture. So I let her. To top it all off, I get in the car and take a better look at everything and there is dye everywhere. On top of all that the place was cramped and dirty. The room I was in was so tiny and cluttered. The bathroom was disgusting! And there was what looked like drops of blood! I emailed the owner to try and give her the benefit of the doubt but she seemed as though she could care less. I went to Jordan at Cut N' Dye for some highlights and a cut. Despite my having a ton of hair, she was extremely thorough and gave me one of the best foils I've ever had (and believe me, this girl's had her fair share of highlights). I'm also kind of a scissor-phobe and she was very conscious to only cut off what needed to be, which is what I asked for. She finished me off by giving me greatly arched brows with a brow wax and perfectly silky-smooth straight hair with a blowout and styling. I have the pleasure of knowing both Missy AND Mandy Cissell and gotta brag about them both. Although Mandy is my stylist/colorist (and now, friend) I know the owner of the salon (Missy) and LOVE the open and friendly atmosphere she fosters as a small business owner. Now for my girl, Mandy's review: What can I say? I found my stylist for life and, if she moves, I think I might just have to go where she goes! Not only does she truly KNOW what she is doing, she is very honest and always stays true to her clients. When I was ready to go pixie, she told me she does so in steps. I appreciated her openness and willingness to discuss possible outcomes, if she went too short the first cut. When I was ready for that pixie, she was ALL FOR IT!!! I have had many different colors applied by her and NEVER have I ever had any complaints. She is fantastic at cuts but has MASTERED her colors! Wow! Just look at her page and see the before and after pictures. They speak for themselves, those pictures! Some folks just have "it" and my girl Mandy is one of them. Very talented. Funny. Honest. Has lots of awesome products that are not only affordable, but ORGANIC...so healthy for your hair! She does NOT push her products on you, which is another plus for me! I was a little shocked to read a negative review about Cut N' Dye. From my first phone call with Missy through my last cut and color, I have never had a negative thought about the salon and staff. Missy is amazing! Not just as a stylist, but as a business owner. She is a great listener and does great work. I make Saturday appointments since that is most convenient for me. I enjoy the Saturday morning/afternoon clients and staff. Stacey's chair is closest to Missy's. The interaction between these two stylist is great. Their energy is addictive. My daughters experience was HORRIBLE! She went in for a color. The stylist that she had, her name was Lisa. Do not go to her. She does not know what she is doing! She washed my daughters hair before coloring. Then she did not bleach out the roots before coloring! The color did not take. Only in a few places. Roots did not take at all. She was having her hair colored orange and the roots were still brown and the rest of her hair was streaked. Did not take at all. When I called about it Lisa accused my daughter of washing it and that's why it looked the way it did. SHE DID NOT WASH IT! When we offered to pay for the product and she could deduct her time she refused. I called the salon owner and received the same treatment. They do not care about the client! My daughter had a friend with her and she was having her hair colored also and hers turned out HORRIBLE! After my complaints about the way the girls looked Lisa gave a partial refund to my daughters friend. She did not refund any of my daughters money because she said I was mean to her and this was pay back. There is something wrong when 2 people go in for a color (to the same stylist) and both turn out bad. Cut n Dye needs to be more careful about who they let do hair in there salon. read more

She acted annoyed that she had to help me. I told her I wanted a haircut and she told me to have a seat. Which I'm not sure why because there were empty chairs. I've always been picky about my haircuts and have never really found a hairstylist I liked since I moved to St. Louis three years ago. I would wait until the holidays when I visited my hometown and go back to a trusted hairstylist there. It's a pain in the butt to say the least. All I have to say is I'm so glad I finally found Mandy! She listens well and is not afraid to provide suggestions, which I truly appreciated. She is very easy going and bubbly. Also, I told her about how clueless I am about curling my hair. At the end of my appointment, she went above and beyond by offering to show me how to properly style/curl my hair. i don't know where to start about the nail tech.. first things first. My appointment would take about 2-3 hrs and I was just getting my nails done, she would take breaks to order food and eat..There was a couple times she would wipe her nose(literally like dripping) onto her hand and then not go wash them.. she talks to much about her personal life, how ashe has so many people hit on her, about how she needs money but I have had appointments cancelled on me because "something came up" but really my friend would be there getting her nails done (she didn't know we knew each other) and told me she said she just wanted to go home, has so many bills but won't work and will apparently vacation every couple months- of course I knew this cause she only talked about herself.. and the charges were crazy for how slow she worked. I have been a client of Missy at Cut N' Dye Salon since it opened and have always been very happy - she is extremely attentive and she uses products that are absolutely fantastic I just received a cut and color in which Missy used the new ammonia-free hair color from Davines - wow, it is AMAZING! I went to Cut N Dye salon for extensions, before getting them I met with Missy my stylist and owner of the salon. She told me that the extentions were real human hair and that I could wash, dry,flat iron and curl them as if they were my own. She also told me they would stay in my hair for 8 months to a 1 year but I would need to come back every 6 to 8 weeks to have them moved up as my hair grew out. She also quoted me a price of $1,300.00 for the hair and the service. I deceided to order the extentions and have them put in. I paid her $500.00 on November 6th 2012 to order the hair and she said it would take 10 days to get them in. On November 19th 2012 she put the extentions in, the process took about 51/2 hours (probably would have taken longer but she ran out of extentions and borrowed 2 strands from someone else). She razor cut the extentions and sent me on my way. The next day I had lost 4 strands, the day after that 2 more and the day after that 4 more I was afraid to wash or brush my hair because it kept falling out and looked very frizzy.. I finally called her and told her I had lost 10 strands and that I needed more put in and that the hair was very frizzy and harsd to work with. She ordered 2 more bundles and booked my appointment for December 6th 2012. When I arrived for my appointment on December 6th she did not have any extentions to put in my hair and said it was Perfectress's (the company that she buys the extentions from) fault. She said the rep did not place her order but said she would have it by 10;30 am the next day. She asked me if I had the ones that came out and I did not because she never told me to keep them if they fell out. She then looked at my hair and said she wanted to give the extentions a deep conditioning treatment because they were very dry. I was there for 2 1/2 hours while she conditoned it dryed it and syled it. Before leaving she GAVE me 2 products for frizz and dryness to use and commented that she had never seen such dry extentions. The next day I showed up for my appointment and the extentions were there. She put them in and said she thougt the new extentions were in better condition than the others, charged me $230.00 dollars and sent me on my way. The extentions continued to fall out I went back to the shop every week sometimes twicw a week to have them put back in until I needed to have them moved up. I made an appointment for Thursday December 27th and had about 8 strand that needed to be put in but got a text saying she was sick and needed to reschedule. The appointment was moved to Saturday December 29th 2012.. I went in for my appointment had them moved up and paid $78.00 but the next day I had lost 8 stands and I text her and asked for her help but never heard back from her until Tueday January 2nd. By then I had 11 strands out and the right saide of my hair had slipped about 2 inches and looked terrible. I couldn't do anything with my hair for New Years Eve. When I talked with her on Tuesday She said she could get me in that Friday but I couldn't wait that long so I told her I would go somewhere else and have them taken out and that I wanted my money back. Her respose to me was "are you kidding I came in on my day off to put your extentions in, I'm not giving you your money back and I'm going to call my attorney." I should be the one calling an attorney, when I had them taken out I was told the extentions were poor quality, they weren't cut right and there weren't enough in the back of my head. So after 6 weeks of having extentions that were supposed to last 8 months to 1 yaer I am out $1,613.00 dollars. I can't believe a stylist and an owner of a salon will not stand behind her product or services! This has been one of the WORST experiences of my life! read more

As someone who just moved to this area from states away, I was scouring the internet to find a place to go for my long dyed hair. A few people suggested Mandy Cissell, and I was fortunate enough to get an appointment right away that worked with my schedule. (You can even book hassle free online through their website!) I went to Mandy C. for a full color and hair cut at the Richmond Heights location. Not only is this girl awesome, but she knows what she's doing with my flowing locks! She is knowledgeable with the color products she is using, and makes suggestions that are realistic, complimentary to you, and still fun! I loved the atmosphere of the place, and every one there was friendly and talkative. I will admit I was hesitant about trying a new line of hair color, but I am SO IMPRESSED and glad I took the leap. As someone who has been dying their hair at home and in salons for the past 14 years, I can now confidently say their color line is THE BEST I have used to date. I tend to have red in my hair and it fades fast, but so far I am 2 weeks post visit, and my color is still vibrant! I cannot say enough good things about this place, and Mandy. She did an excellent job with my hair, and even had time for an eyebrow wax, blowout and styling. The prices were very reasonable for all of the TLC my hair was given.
