PetSmart is like the Kmart of pet stores. Cutter's Mill is like the Nordstorm. This is a high end pet store. It's about as far removed from a PetSmart as you can get and that's a good thing! Expect a beautiful layout of top shelf merchandise. Expect staff that knows what they are talking about. Expect prices to be higher but commensurate with the quality of the product. If you treat your pet better than you treat yourself you're going to like this place. If you need to buy a gift for friends with a pet this is the perfect place! read more

Don't shop there. Bought Instinct Raw food a few weeks ago. My dog got deathly sick from eating it. As it turns out the food expired a year ago. I ended up taking her to the vet on Monday. They asked me to bring in a stool sample and did blood work. They put her on an probiotic and Tylosen to get her system under control. I was treated so rudely when I tried to return the unused bags of food. To this day I have not be reimbursed. Even though they said they would. The owners daughter was very not helpful at all. I requested they pay for my vet bill which was around two hundred dollars. Mind you I have spent thousands in their stores over the years. She also was very rude. At one point she told me to send the vet bill and she would get the process stated. Weeks went by not word from her. I emailed her that I was going to take them to small claims court. Her controller response to me "bring it on". FYI, this was the second time I purchased raw food from them that was outdated. I reported the to the BBB. read more

After our neighborhood dog walker recommended we try this place for our picky eating puppy we gave it a try. I called ahead of time to get the hours and a little bit of information on their selection of dog food. Chris, the employee who answered my phone call couldn't have been more helpful and patient. We drove in the same day and met Chris and two of his co-workers. Everyone was patient, informative, and SUPER NICE! It was a breath of fresh air to talk to people who are actually knowledgeable about pet care and nutrition instead of just trying to sell a product to meet a quota. We tried the Natural Choice dog food and guess what?? Our puppy has been eating it for two days without any fussing!! This is the best news ever for us. In addition to their large selection of dog food and organic products, the store is clean, animal friendly, and it is spacious. The other pet products they sell from desserts, leashes, dog dishes, to crates, carriers, etc. are very unique yet practical. We did not find their prices for food sky high but instead comparable to other area stores but they offer higher quality products. The prices on dog accessories are a little high, but worth it to support this local business and be treated the way you do when you shop there. It did remind me of whole foods for pets. Used to like this store until recent experience. Their No Return policy is a deal breaker. They only allow you to return for store credit or exchange for equal value. This policy only benefits the organization (cutters) as you cannot make an error on what you purchase and are forced to keep your cash with them. The item I tried to return was about 10 days old thus, should not materially affect inventory management. The store has good items that are priced on the higher side, these items can be found at other local boutique pet stores like: Braxton's which is down the street a bit. Or you can go to the internet and locate the items that can be delivered directly to your house. The staff is usually friendly and experienced which is a key component I would expect from a store that positions itself as a higher-end goods and service provider. read more

This is a very upscale pet store that outclasses the big chains like Petco in every way. It isn't as large and it is maybe on average 5% to 10% more expensive, but the staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They don't try to sell you their stupid membership card like every major chain in the country nowadays. They have a huge flatscreen TV that scrolls pictures of their clients' pets, that is just really cool. They have a huge selection of high-quality, and even organic food products. Much of their inventory is carefully chosen, so instead of stocking thousands of crappy dog toys, for example, they stock hundreds that won't break in two seconds! I did find one item that is actually less expensive than the big chains. Dog treats are sold in bulk and you get to choose your mix, making them about half the price you would pay if you got them in a pre-made bag. read more

We have found that pricing is consistently about 4% cheaper at Braxton's than Concord Pet, BUT coupon users will benefit at Concord Pet. If you factor in each store's coupons, Concord Pet is cheaper. In addition, they have the rewards program, AND, for our particular food, once we buy 12 bags, the 13th is FREE! That is pretty cool. The store is very neat, with a specialty bakery (seriously, homemade cookies and cakes for dogs) in the front, and you-name-it for pets is everywhere else in the store. They have the most gigantic Mammoth flossy rope toy in front. I don't dare look at the price tag, but it sure looks fun! A lot of the Nylabone products are significantly higher priced at this store than on Amazon, or even at Braxton's. I hate to bottom-line it all the time, since the associates here are always very kind, but when you spend as much as we do on animals, you need to pay attention. I will say that like Braxton's, Concord Pets offers a TON of products from mom-n-pop manufacturers, that you will never find at the box stores, nor on Amazon, so they are always wonderful for that. If you have a pet with allergies, you will never find such a selection of creative foods, all made to cater to any special diet your pet may have. The associates are always on their toes to help, and will go the extra mile and then some. All in all, a great deal for the things we buy, a great place to even just look around and see all that is out there and get ideas for little extras that you never knew you "needed" for your pets. read more

The Mill is the mecca and motherland for anything pet related! love that it has organic and special diet foods AND treats! our dog can't eat anything chicken, beef or pork flavored on top of that everything he has must be grain free, yes, hes high maintenance! But Cutters Mill is the only pet store in the area that can accomodate his needs! A friend who works at the fitness center I frequent suggested this pet store. The first thing I saw when I came into the store is their sense of quality and expertise. This is not the typical all you can find cheap pet store. I saw some products that I've never seen elsewhere. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and took time to answer all my questions patiently. My dog is sick and I'm picky about the food I give. It was so useful to get good insight of the organic food products and choices I have. I saw that their price was a tad bit more expensive but I think the quality more than makes up for it. read more

We took our puppies to meet Santa Paws at Cutter's Mill this holiday season. The store setup is much nicer and homier than most chain pet stores. The prices can be a little high for some items but their service and offerings make it worth it to splurge once in a while and most of their items are competitively priced. Our visit to Santa included multiple polaroid pictures in a cute card, plus they sent 5-6 more via iPad to my email, and it was all free! We love the Old Mother Hubbard dog treats, and it's great to be able to get them by weight rather than by full bag to be able to mix and match a little more easily without having open bags of treats for our cats to try to break into all the time, and their baked cookie treats are perfect for special occasions! read more

This is where I shop for my dog. The prices aren't cheap by any means, but are comparable to other higher end pet stores. the quality and selection of toys, food, etc is top notch. If you join the club you also get plenty of coupons to help bring the prices down. They also seem very involved with the community and local rescues. read more

This store is now Concord Pets. Be aware of expiration dates if you shop at this store. I have found many outdated items on the shelves and I just bought some food that expires in 12 days. I shop at many pet stores, both here and in Florida and have never had an expiration date problem. Also be aware that they do not take returns for a refund, they only give store credit. I love this store! If you want top quality products, knowledgeable staff, and a great location, go to cutters mill! My picky eater pups need high quality food with good taste to keep them interested. Their policy is if your dog doesn't like the food, bring it back for a full refund. This is a great policy so you're not throwing money away trying to find out what they like. My husband and I went in to purchase dog food because this is one of the few facilities that carry it and a young man by the name of Kevin didn't even greet us and was on his cell phone the entire time and seemed completely miserable at check out!
