If I didn't know I was going into a lesser known coffee shop, I would have thought I walked into a major coffee chain. The place itself is really nice, but it looks and feels like a chain. I have no idea how I feel about that but it was my first thought so there you go. The mocha tasted like a mocha, so nothing good, nothing bad. However, the... I don't remember its name, but something really stupid like Choco Chocolate Frappe... that was amazing. Frappes are usually amazing and this was extra amazing. Maybe that's why they give it such a lame name - so only those comfortable enough with themselves to order such a poorly named beverage are willing to give it a go. Of course, as I mentioned I don't remember the name of the drink, so maybe it was something awesome like "Bitchin' Chocolate Frap, Biznatch" in which case I take it all back. The two workers did a fine job. I didn't even realize it was a drive through until I heard the barista talking to no one. There is also a lot of comfortable seating if that's your thing. Also, in front, two kids were trying to pawn off empty gift cards for 20 bucks, so hooray! Tacoma! There isn't a lot to say about coffee shops that's funny, but I approve of this particular one, so go for it, champ. read more

Great coffee! My wife had the white mocha with the lavender and I had the oatmeal latte. Unique drinks and they were both delicious. If you don't like your coffee too sweet then I would recommend the oatmeal latte. read more

I was a little bummed out after I signed a lease in Seattle and found out that my new-found West Coast lifestyle would include a commute to and from Tacoma every day. I was slightly less bummed out after I found out that this place was right on my way to work. The girls who work here are really friendly and all-around awesome. Plus they make a mean non-fat vanilla latte. I'm pretty sure my patients don't realize how much they should be thanking this place for my patience and good mood. oh boy not very good at all first of they don't even serve anything smaller then a 12oz. Second the coffee itself is not tasty as it seems that they rely on flavored syrup to do the work for them. Cutters Point is basically Starbucks, just rebadged. read more

After years of ordering a Mocha Frappe from any coffee place I went to, I've concluded that Cutter's Point makes the best one. Not only is the taste superior to others, but the graininess/smoothness of the ice is by far the best blended. I come to this location whenever I'm in town, and the baristas are always friendly and even remember me even though I only go every so often. My only complaint is that there is only a 50% success rate of me getting whipped cream when I ask for it! My taste buds get angry, but my pancreas is thankful! read more

What is with the reviews on here? When I first came here occasionally I did not expect anyone to know my name or treat me the same as someone who has come in every morning for 5 years. And I appreciated the fact that they knew and interacted with their regulars-- why is that a bad thing? I started coming in here to work more when I moved into a more flexible position and appreciated the service even more. The baristas not only took time to get to know me but went out of their way to make my daughter feel special-- making her special treats and even asking for a copy of her school picture to pin on their bulletin board. Now she cant wait to show the 'coffee girls' when she gets a new haircut or outfit. A cutters just opened a block from us but we will continue to come here for the service and relationships. read more

I've been here to buy coffee and sit about five time in the past two years. Every time I leave thinking how much I do not like it. The problem is the staff. Loud, as in yelling back and forth loud. Not angry, mind you, just obnoxiously loud for no apparent reason. Unless one is immersed in one's smartphone wearing earbuds and listening to music the ambiance in this cafe is unfortunately ruined by the circus-like atmosphere behind the counter. I really don't think any customer enjoys being forced to listen to the baristas' latest personal trials and tribulations, physical ailments, complaints about their boyfriend, etc, etc. read more

Mocha, decaf, soy, no whip- They made it perfectly. Staff were friendly, greeted me as I walked in. Very comfortable setting, lots of places to sit and enjoy your coffee and a treat. They have a Drive-Thru, nice on those rainy days of Pacific North West. I plan to make it a regular stop, give it a try. read more

I have been a long time customer of this location and recently went through the drive through. My order didn't seem right, and I didn't have time to address it since I was at the drive through. Came in at 10-am-ish and was greeted by friendly baristas. They seem to know a lot of peoples' names and had a lot of frieindly convos with the regulars. And my white mocha was DELICIOUS. If you're looking for a place to come have a fun coffee date with a friend this is the place to be. But I was looking for a little quiet - which I did NOT find. By the time I left at 11:30 or so, the place was full of families interacting with the staff (including one staff member's cousin or nephew or something who was hoisted in through the drive-thru window!). First off, one of the best coffees I've had. Yes, I'm used to Peet's and Starbucks, but you can immediately tell the difference on the quality of coffee. Since the espresso shots are consistently burnt to the point of tasting like your grandmothers Pall Mall ashtray, I decided to go for a simple black drip as a last ditch effort to stick with them. Coffee is average, service is horrendous. I've been here 3 times in the past few weeks and every time the baristas were very short, rude and in a major hurry. Rude barista. Most of them are nice but one has been rude both times I have gone. Asked if water is added to their iced americanos and the barista replies "an americano IS water" in a snooty tone. Actually, I have been a barista and get coffee at more places than yours and not all shops add water. A lot just pack with ice (sure it's frozen water but doubt you were thinking that). So I ordered it packed with ice instead of water and the barista says "uh ok, so you're okay with it being 3/4 full then" and I said "yes". So they make the drink...it's the wrong size. When I asked about it and was told it still had 4 shots and the same flavor, I said it was fine. As I was driving away, heard the same rude barista ask the other barista at the window (who was nice the whole time), "what was her problem?" I get coffee every day and have never had an issue at other coffee shops, so not sure what your problem is, girl. Will not being back. I'm not sure why some other reviewers had such a bad time here. The baristas are some of the friendliest people I've met, and they always make me and my friends feel welcome. The food here is delicious-- the cake pops, pumpkin scones, and breakfast burritos are to die for. The coffee is so tasty-- you can have free refills of drip coffee for as long as you're in the shop. Their Fisherman's Blend roast is so delicious that I bought a bunch to brew at home. This has become my go to coffee shop-- I love it! Make sure to request a loyalty card when you go! read more

The only good drink that they have here is Coffee Toffee Crunch, Nothing else. The servers there are generally nice but I don't usually go to a coffee shop to chit chat so improving their coffee quality would be a good way to attract customers :) All of the drinks are extremely sweet with little coffee. I always order extra espresso shots but still...never turned out exactly how I wanted it. I went to Cutter's for the first time & had a great experience! I noticed the reviews here were kinda blah but I still decided to try it since I was near by. My go-to is a simple Cafe Au Lait with either Almond Milk or Hemp milk & the girls made my beverage perfect! You'd be surprised how many baristas actually mess it up. I went through the drive-thru & it was fast, the girl at the window was so friendly, & their coffee itself is tasty! If you're near by, just try Cutter's. They're not a complicated hipster coffee joint. They have a lot of straight forward things to choose from & they're friendly! read more

Quick, Friendly and have creative spins on classic drinks. Whiskey caramel Macchiato or Toasted Caramel Frap just to name a few. I ll be coming back as long as I work in the area. I am so happy that this place is right down the road! I just moved to the area so I stopped in to have try them out. They were very welcoming and made me a delicious cup of coffee. I also tried one of their breakfast sandwiches it was much better than Starbucks. They use a Panini press after heating it up briefly in the microwave so the bread doesn't get chewy like it does at Starbucks. Their pumpkin spice latte is one of the best that I've had. They don't use too much syrup, so you get to indulge without feeling like you're drinking a bag of sugar. The prices seem reasonable (maybe even a little less expensive than some places). read more

As someone who works in the service industry as a Customer Service Rep., I sometimes find myself a little over critical of others in my line of work. I have been to this shop a few times and the first time was excellent! That Saturday, I was in the area so I decided to stop in the drive thru; I was greeted very quickly and the lady was very nice. I loved the Coconut Frappe so much, I decided to stop by that Monday morning on my way to work. I sat in the drive thru for quite some time before I was greeted and the woman who was making coffee brought my drink to the window, said nothing to me, other than she liked my nails and turned and walked away. Well, this was a Monday morning so I just figured, meh...it was early and let it go. I went again a few days later, on my way to work, mind you this is 6:30 in the morning and the place did not appear to be busy. Again, I waited a good few minutes before I was acknowledged. I pulled around after giving my order and there was one car ahead of me. The same lady who didn't acknowledge me the last morning I was there, handed the man in front of me his drink and proceeded to hang out of the window, talking to him for a good 5 minutes while I sat there. Again, she handed me my drink and walked away. If I decide to stop here again it will most definitely be in the afternoon when the staff is more friendly. read more

I've been there 5 times and I've tried a few different coffees cuz they couldn't make the one I always get at other coffee houses and it's not hard a black and white iced mocha with lots of ice so it's not all milk. and all it tasted like was milk. Grreat coffee, fast service. I mean if your looking for some good coffee, buddy you found the place. They're usually on par with Starbucks, usually better. One gripe though is there's one annoying chick in the morning crew who talks very loudly for a lady. Toasted coconut mocha and red velvet latte- need I say more? I am a die hard Starbucks fan (I know, I know) but wanted to try something different. This Cutters Point has a great seating area and easy going atmosphere. They have some neat photographs of the Tacoma Narrows on the wall. We've been a few times and have always had excellent drinks. Lots of different types of seats- couch, large tables, cozy tables for two or the bar. Or, if you are in a hurry, drive through available as well. I am more impressed with Cutters Point all the time. There are several locations in the area, but what I appreciate about the company is their local connections. The coffee is roasted in Gig Harbor. Alycia the barista has been working for CP for 8 years, 7 at that location. She is efficient and friendly. I deliver bagels to this location (disclaimer-some bias on bagels), but when I'm off duty and need to suggest a place to meet, I suggest this CP.
