The B&B is historic, quaint & quiet with this B&B -with a modern day flare to it as well. The Host is onsite and attentive to guests, if you need her she's a phone call away and very attentive. The House is "self check in" with information provided when we made our reservation on how to get thru the locks, etc. and was very easy. The House is lovely, with creaks in the wood floors you would anticipate and decorated with artifacts of yesteryear and modern times (games and books available for guests) as it was built in 1908. There are four upstair rooms which share a common bathroom. My wife and I stayed in the Ivy Suite for 3 nights, which had its own private bath including an old fashioned vintage tub with a modern day shower head. I would add: a steep step up into the tub, so probably something to think about if you are challenged with limited mobility issues. Our room had a google device to boost the internet signal which was helpful too! Breakfast was a modern day concept with pour over (local) roast coffee as a plus! Along with coffee there was yogurt, granola, fresh berries, hard boiled eggs, croissants with preserves, bananas, apples, tangerines, a small charcuterie board of sliced meats and cheese, hot tea and iced water. The common areas were well maintained and plenty of places to sit and relax. Overall, the house is comfortable, safe and well landscaped. 10 minute walk to Gonzaga, but nicely situated to local restaurants too. A nice alternative to the brand name hotels for a more quiet and relaxing experience.

It felt like we had a whole house to ourselves. Had we not been so exhausted from traveling all day, we would not have wanted to go to sleep because the views of the night sky and Moscow town lights in the valley below are so breathtaking. We did sleep though, and soundly - there was no city noise to distract us. Victorian furniture, stained glass, and an ornate dining room fit for kings. The owner, Mary, was a joy to talk to and made delicious iced tea for us to enjoy in the afternoon as we sat in the Mansion's "Secret Garden." The E.J. Roberts Suite was spacious and inviting (all red decor ... no frilly flowers you find in most B&Bs). The only downsides was that the bathroom was quite small (hard to find a big bathroom in most B&Bs anyway) with the sink outside of the room, and the king sized bed, while extremely comfortable, was really two smaller beds pushed together (we knew that beforehand from the website, and we thought we wouldn't notice, but we kept getting caught between the break). I look forward to trying out some of the other rooms on a future visit. Also, while I heard most visitors got a three or four course breakfast, we started with fruit, then had a breakfast burrito with a side of potatoes. A perfectly satisfying breakfast, but perhaps we should've stayed on a Friday or Saturday to get a full breakfast. But these were all very minor issues. Overall, the Mansion was a great place to stay and well worth the money. I can't wait to see what Mary does with the restaurant she's planning to open next door! Tip: Eat at the Elk Public House for lunch and dinner. Great neighborhood restaurant with outdoor seating. It's right around the corner from the Mansion (a 2 minute walk) and has great wine, beer, and sandwiches (I'm still thinking about how good the Santa Fe Chicken was).
