I called and made an appointment with Sonja which was super easy to do -- I highly recommend making an appointment instead of a walk-in. It was a little busy, but Sonja was super clear and straightforward when explaining things to me. Her work is quick and honestly quite painless, so I definitely will be coming back and and I will recommend this place to my friends as well! I came here years ago where they pierced my septum wrong and crooked. The jewelry fell on the floor and she didn't sterilize it. It was rushed and I had to go agave in bloom to fix it. Today, despite my better judgment, I went with a friend to try again for a nostril because it's affordable and honestly a body mod was closed. l don't understand how this establishment is certified to pierce...It doesn't seem sterile at all... the piercing jewelry isn't good quality or the right shape (L bar too small) and it's loose in a display case. The nose piercing fell out two hours after it was done. It's not long enough for swelling. Staff are nice enough...I guess? It's extremely fast and not personable. I'm confused all around. We'll see how it heals I guess. I'm not convinced it will heal well. read more

I keep hoping it'll feel better to be here for a haircut but it only gets more weird and uncomfortable each visit. Great prices if you can handle really offensive chatter from Sonja and her friends, plus constant phone calls and other interruptions like legitimate walk-ins that somehow take precedence. I myself talk like a sailor and embrace all sorts of ways of being, yet still this place is just too much even for me. And then to charge me the same amount to brush out and dry my own simple hair, not once but now every time, because I'm polite and Sonja seems overwhelmed? Nope. Game over. This place is horrible, I was getting a second and third piercing and the lady who did my ears was talking on the phone while piercing my ears and since she wasn't paying attention she pierced my ears wrong. Sonja is AMAZING! I came in mid afternoon wanting my double brow piercings, she was free and able to get me in right away. She talked me through the whole thing and with breathing, you're good to go. Don't let the fact that this is a nail salon stop you from getting pierced! Sonia (the piercer) is the sweetest woman I've ever had pierce me and my friends. She has been doing this for years and it really shows. Anywhere else in Medford has not lived up to cuttin up. I have been coming to Cuttin Up Studio since my very first piercing when I was 15 I'm now almost 33,needless to say many years now, I use to come with my mom and now my daughter comes with me. I DONT dare go anywhere else for a hair cut, I made that mistake one time you know when you say just the tips and you leave with half your hair chopped off yea.. well Sonja listens and I swear she reads my mind every time from my crazy A-lines to my Lob to just a quick trim she nails it everytime. Just went in today and got a cut, every time I leave I say this was my favorite lol! The studio is clean and she has alot of products from hemp Lotions to oils, hair products, piercings and the girls that do nails are great! Absolutely phenomenal! I just went in today (3/3/18) for an "intimate" piercing and was a complete wreck about it lol. My nerves were through the roof! I'll start with I've had 20 piercings, I know how to take care of them, and I took proper care of these as well. Over three months I couldn't figure out why it kept swelling and wouldn't heal. so I went to another piercing shop to remove them. Turns out she lied about the metal. And due to that I was having An allergic reaction it was huge and painful and puss filled. Although that was frustrating I was going to just let it go but now that it is fully healed I have really hard ugly scars on my nose. I have 2 previously closed nostril piercings and you cannot see them at all so I know it isn't just my skin. Yahoo! Excellent and inexpensive haircuts in Medford! I have difficult hair as it is curly and baby fine. Luckily, so does Sonja at Cuttin Up! If cut incorrectly, my hair will stand straight up in 'alien antennae'. This was a great haircut by a master who doesn't overcharge people. Sonja is also uncommonly kind and delightful. I have known and had my hair cut by the very caring, talented and ethical Sonja for four years now. She is one of the kindest truly Christian persons I know. She is not one of those who judges and ignores the homeless or suffering. She gives the homeless heat packs in the winter and once when I called, she was reporting a running dog she had seen with protruding intestines to the animal control. She is protective, loyal and constantly cheerful. I ALWAYS feel better after seeing her. She is so gentle and concerned about her customers' well-being. This place is SUPER busy and confined, this is the only reason why I am taking off a single star. But, now that I have told you the only bad part, let me tell ya the good! I got my nipples pierced here and Sonja did an incredible job! Great placement and extremely fast! The pain sucked but that wasn't her fault. Right after me Sonja was doing some ear piercings for a 7 year old girl. Sonja is no doubt the perfect choice for children, so if you plan on having some piercings done for your daughter then I would bring her here. You can tell she has been in the business for a long time by Her welcoming, and professionalism that is well above any salon i have been to! She listens intently to my ideas, and concerns with my hair. I have never been even Slightly disappointed. Katie does my nails. She is always open to my outlandish nail art ideas! She will do anything i ask with success!! My nails never fall off, and look freshly done even after 3 weeks. The best part of this salon is walking in, and feeling like family with these genuine woman. The customer service here is awesome- Sonja gave me a piercing and she is so sweet and caring. I really appreciated her and how quickly she was able to fit me into her schedule. The only issue I ran into was the how small the selection of earrings (for an immediate piercing) was. There were only large studs and hoops fit to be worn right after a piercing session, and I tend to prefer smaller ones. However, my experience here overall was good, and I'd definitely return to update my piercing with a new earring. read more

Super disappointed with my experience here. I moved cities, and needed my gel nails done so I spent about 2 days doing research in the Medford area, and came across this studio who had the best overall reviews. I made an appointment. The lady who did my nails was very nice, but the owner and another coworker there were so obnoxious and loud it was uncomfortable. They were cussing and made for my time there being unpleasant. The quality of the service is also sub par. I paid 20$ for gel nails that were chipped by that same evening, and are now falling apart 2 days later. I will not be returning. read more
