All I can say is wow! No joke we had to call over 15 nail salons and NONE had openings until end of month and or over two weeks. We easily made an appointment online with Hannah. She was very kind and did a wonderful job. She communicated with us, explained the different enhancements. I got gel and my friend got a paraffin wax that made her feet so smooth. Hannah took her time and held good meaningful conversation, thanks Hannah! I must note very clean salon, door is kept locked of safety, and washing hands is a must before entering. read more

Do you want your nose ring waxed and pulled? Do you prefer talking about demons and the devil during your manicure?? Then come here! Thought it was only the manicure girl that was odd, because hair stylists were also side eyeing her during the rants. Tried out the waxing, appointment was changed the day of to a different waxer than I booked. Had no problem, Rene S took me back with a friendly hi. But quickly started walking and almost lost me in the halls. Then she didn't say another word until my eyebrow was half waxed, didn't even ask what shape I wanted. Didn't like how they came out. Later tried to book another brow wax with the other waxer available, only for it to be changed day of to Rene S again. Opted out for the brows, but I should have just left. Rene S continued to absolutely GLOB wax on my face to where it was dripping down by my lip like a lip wax. She tried to pinch little parts and pull them off, it was messy with strings everywhere. She kept putting her full hand on my forehead and pushing/pulling with lots of strength, so when she completely waxed over the nose stud it pulled the whole thing very painfully. She then started to dismiss me saying it wasn't on the piercing itself. Spent a few minutes with the other waxer Alysha (I had originally booked with) to get wax of the flat back of the nose stud. Was also offered a brow wax after all that and had to decline. The reason I was given for being changed to Rene each time was "because it didn't look like a request." I hope the owner calls me because this was absolutely ridiculous. My pedicure was completely normal too! (Other than not being told about upgrades, they were just tossed on me) Sad there's such off energy here it's a very convenient location! They didn't charge me and they shouldn't. read more

1,000/10! Victoria is absolutely phenomenal. I've never had a better hair/salon appointment in my life. She took time to listen to what I wanted and helped me achieve my long time hair goal. All I came in with was a picture and she matched the exact color I wanted perfectly. It came out better than I honestly could have ever expected! The products she uses smell sooo good and the quality shows. I have zero regrets driving from Portland just to have Victoria do my hair, it was worth ever penny! HORRIBLE! WASTE OF TIME & MONEY! $100 for gel mani/pedi was wasted, as was my precious time, because the paint smudged and chipped off within one hour. Within one day, my nail polish was a total wreck. I have never felt so ripped off by a salon. Gel polish is supposed to look flawless and last for at least 2 weeks. I am extremely disappointed. I wish they'd give me a refund. The staff was nice and attentive. The facility appeared to be very clean. They got me in very quickly when every other salon in the valley was booked. Before I knew what a bad deal I was getting, I was very impressed by the staff, facility, and scheduler. I am new to town and am also planning a wedding. I thought this would be a great place for my bridal/wedding needs. Sadly, I was wrong. I will never return to this establishment and I will do my best to deter anyone else from going there. All of the positive things about this salon are absolutely worthless when the end product/service was totally unacceptable. After having told many people in the area about my experience, all the locals say "No! Everyone knows not to go there! They're horrible!!!!!" I wish I would've known that sooner. It only takes one bad seed. That's why there's one star. Still I'm going to give the salon a good written review because of Madeline she's the best manicurist ever. The ladies behind the front desk are charming and wonderful. And there's one blonde lady there who does hair that makes coming in there so much fun. I don't even know her name. But every time I come in there she's a joy. Unfortunately there is one girl there who has a BIG problem. She's so rude that if the other ladies were not there I would never come back. It's a shame that she put such a bad vibe out. In that industry the move she busted today will definitely come back to bite her especially in a small town. I truly hope the owner is reading this. I received the worst haircut of my life from Tara at the Plaza Salon. The horrible experience began when I arrived and was told that the hairdresser I booked with was unavailable, yet nobody called to tell me. I should have seen this as a red flag and left, but I had driven over an hour for this appointment and then Tara said that she could fit me in. I explained in detail what I wanted and then showed her numerous pictures. I figured that a picture is worth more than words so I showed her over a dozen pictures that detailed the style I wanted. Although it really wasn't complicated. She appeared to be listening to me and looking at the pictures. Then she proceeded to rush through my haircut which resulted in a catastrophic cut that looked nothing like the photos. In fact it looked so completely different than the photos that I can't believe she even saw them. Turns out she admittedly didn't look closely. I was in shock. And to make things worse, my hair was now so short that nothing could be done to fix it. She actually shaved the back of my head!! I explained in detail what I wanted and any other hairdresser would have known just what to do. She admitted that she made a mistake and didn't charge me. But now I have the worst haircut of my life and I'm devastated. And it's so short (basically a shaved head) that nothing can be done to fix it. As if that wasn't bad enough, Tera was also extremely cold and unfriendly; she refused to engage in conversation with me and treated me like a head of hair instead of a conscious human sitting in her chair. Perhaps she was just having a bad day, but it's not okay to let that negatively impact your client. I feel like someone has played a practical joke on me. The experience feels surreal. Tera also tried to justify the haircut by saying that maybe my hair was holding pain and needed to be cut off. Um, no!! This was by far the worst haircut and salon experience of my life and I'm distraught. This is the first negative review I have ever left, but I truly don't want others to experience this. Please, if you are reading this review, don't let Tara go anywhere near your hair. And to the salon: If one of your hairdressers can't make an appointment, please call people to tell them in advance. One of the worst pedicures I've ever gotten, and it took 90 minutes when it should have taken 45. Terri, my pedicurist, was very nice & apologetic, and gave me $15 off as compensation, but Plaza's flawed on-line appointment system, broken (?) spa chair & untrained receptionist caused a series of cockups that made the whole experience a complete fiasco: 1) I booked a 9am appointment online early this AM, because my bf & I wanted to start driving back to Oakland at 10am. But the system didnt tell Terri that someone had booked a 9am with her, so she rolled in at 9:10 thinking her first appointment wasnt until 10. WHY HAVE AN ONLINE BOOKING SYSTEM THAT LETS YOUR CUSTOMERS THINK THEY CAN BOOK A 9AM SAME-DAY IF THEY CAN'T? 2) We had barely started soaking my feet at 9:25 when the spa chair tub started leaking, so Terri had to stop working on me to mop up the floor, try to figure out what was going on, & rinse out another tub in case we needed to move. The receptionist never came over to help, even though there was nobody else in the salon. 3) AFTER putting on 2 coats of my chosen polish & top coat, at 10:10, Terri realizes it's a gel polish, which requires drying between coats (and costs more). The receptionist, who saw me choose the color from the gel shelf - which is in a completely different part of the salon from the regular polish (but not labelled as such, or not that I notices) - never said anything to me or Terri about it being a gel. So now Terri has to remove the top coat, put my feet in a dryer (which only does 1 at a time), then reapply the top coat. Finally, at 10:30, I'm done. When I get to the car where my bf's waiting (patiently, bless his heart), I look at my feet & see that my heels are still cracked & my nails are still filthy from camping & wearing flip-flops all week, WHICH IS WHY I WANTED THE PEDICURE IN THE FIRST PLACE. I could have done a better job cleaning & scrubbing my feet at home. And the polish job is pretty rough: you can see a large area of my left pinkie nail was left unpainted. Will the gel coat last longer, like it's supposed to? Or will it come off sooner because it wasn't dried between coats? Who knows? What I do know is that I won't be going back to Plaza to get my nails done. read more

Once again the nail appointment I made a week in advance was canceled on me last minute. When I asked if they could fit me in considering I had waited a week for the appointment, the staff were rude and acted as if I was out of bounds for wanting to be able to have an alternate option, and was told they had no appointments until the following week. The manicure pedicures are good at Plaza but they cancel at last minute and have no consideration or even an apology for not honoring their appointments. I will no longer book there. I've gone to the Salon to get my haircut by Troy Brown - which was fabulous, a great massage by the comforting and generous David Smith, and to get my nails done- which I've had several great experiences (my go-to being Alex). I've had other employees do my nails at the salon and not had the best results, but Alex is efficient and thorough! There's not many great options for getting nails done in Ashland or Medford, so overall I feel really lucky to have found awesome service and wonderful results at the Plaza. read more

Disappointed. Usually I wouldn't write a review but I feel like I should share my experience so no one else has to go through it. I had a lash extension appointment with Renee today and it was the absolute worst. I came in for the first time ever seeing her and she said "you're with me let's go in the back" never double checking with me what kind of fill I wanted or any small talk. She told me to lay down and if the lack of costumer service wasn't enough she proceeded to aggressively start filling my lashes. She was pressing so hard down on my forehead and bridge of my nose that I assumed I was going to have a bruise. She literally pulled one of my NATURAL eyelashes out. She forcefully shoved eyelash extensions onto my natural ones and at the end ripped the tape off that she had placed on my lower lashes at the beginning. IF THATS NOT ENOUGH the lash job is very subpar and clumpy with lots and lots of glue (not a good look). AND ON TOP OF THAT the next words out of her mouth was "do you want to tip" when we got to the front desk when not saying more than 10 words to me before. I literally said no but she must not of heard me or pretended to because she said "I have to add it now" so I gave her $5 on a $45 service because I am bad at sticking up for myself. Honestly I want a refund and might go in tomorrow to see if I can get one. UpdatesAnd a week later more than 50% of my eyelashes are gone.... read more

Extremely disappointing pedicure here. I arrived 10 minutes early for an 11am appointment and no one was there. The woman who was assigned to my pedicure was there but it was her first day and she didn't have a key. When other staff members arrived, I wasn't notified that they were open, so sat outside on the stoop by myself until they finally let me in. Almost 10 minutes late. The woman who checked me in and out was extremely rude, not apologetic, and unfriendly. The woman who did my pedicure was very kind, but the pedicure itself was smudged and not very high-quality. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend returning here, rather go someplace where they will do a better job, and make you feel more welcome as a customer. Addendum: I put my shoes on soon after I left and hadn't really looked at my pedicure. It is the worst pedicure I have ever had. It's messy and uneven. I have a feeling that they didn't train the woman who did my pedicure, so I think that she didn't know the supplies. What kind of a place puts a woman on the floor without training her?! The building isn't the nicest, and I was disappointed that you only pick one enhancement with your manicure, so there was no massage, because I'd gotten gel. The 5 stars are for Kimmy! A friend and I went in for pedicures. I'll admit, when Kimmy said that she would be doing both our pedicures, while switching between us, I was a little hesitant. But, once she started I knew we were in good hands. She took great care and time with each of us. And, she was very friendly and personable. Also, she did the best paint job I've had in ages! This gal is sooo good at what she does. She gives really good hair advice and you can def tell she loves her job. She's so pretty, Super funny and sweet too. The salon itself is clean and nice. My feet feel amazing Alex did a great job! I recommend the add ons to treat yourself. I got a moisturizer and massage with clay and chocolate. Unfortunately she wasn't very personable. After living in Ashland for 16 years I have finally found my spot! The Plaza Salon offers a great value on hair cutting, styling, and coloring. I have been completely happy with every salon experience I have had. It is truly wonderful to have a great salon to go to that won't shove their products down your throat and to be helped by stylists who are knowledgeable about your hair. While the nail area is slightly exposed, Mickie and Alex are WONDERFUL nail techs. I spent two hours getting my eyelashes done by Renee, long story short she ended up injuring my eyeball (corneal abrasion) I spent $170 (after tip) on my lashes and $50 at urgent care. She takes her time and every cut I get is even better than the last. She's a superstar! They carry Kevin Murphy which is the most fabulous hair products you can imagine.
