Never again. I have tried since Thursday to pick up a prescription for simple Lidocaine patches. I kept getting told they need pre-auth. I was sitting with the doctor on my 2nd visit for back pain when he called, told them to forget the pre-auth. And that I would pay out of pocket and GAVE THEM A GOOD RX COUPON. this happened right in front of me. I went there after my visit and was told they "would be ready after 4:27pm" she kept repeating that. Today, my wife goes in to get them and was told they are still waiting for pre-authorisation. I called and spoke to Ashley who was being hostile, even as I have her zero cause to be. I told her I would pay out of pocket, she put me on hold for about 7 minutes and then said "fine, we can do it your way, it will cost $415.00" that's silly and also not true. I got the exact same thing at Walgreens fulfilled for $26. I have no idea what goes on at this CVS, but there is always some kind of drama or mix up. It's my fault for being lazy and not going somewhere else. When you are sick and in pain, being treated badly is the last thing you need. These people who work at this location always seem hassled, frustrated, confused. I won't ever go there again and there are many other pharmacies around. Don't waste your time, because if you need help or extra care, you will not find it here. read more

I finally had enough of the rude comments and treatment from the Asian Pharmacy technician. The last time I went I had a sinus infection, a high fever, and just wanted my medication. I walked up to the counter and waited, the Asian guy with the pony tail said, "I didn't call you yet." So what am I supposed to do? I waited for 15 min, while he just organized bags. There was no one behind me. Then on the loudspeaker he calls my name even though I am standing right there. The pharmacy techs there are so rude, I don't get it. There is no reason for it. He raised his voice at me for ID, and even laughed at me. When I asked to talk to the manager, his attitude changed quickly. I have just had so many negative experiences here, not accepting a federal ID? Making fun of my drivers license picture? Giving me Morphine Sulfate, when I was there for Amoxicillin? Terrible, complain to management there and they don't care. read more

It is your typical CVS and it is conveniently located in the Belle Haven area. I've gotten spoiled with my delivery scripts that I was inconveniently surprised with how expensive this location is, which I realize is based almost entirely on my own insurance coverage, so should in no way reflect upon CVS. That said, I about freaked. It wasn't pretty. So, that said, everything else about this place is a little "less than," what you'd expect from your typical CVS. Slow lines and difficult finds. The layout is weird and I just don't have the time for this place most of the time. Things are not what I would consider conveniently located and I if I don't have the time to meander, I typically won't. I usually want an in and out experience with a CVS and don't have time for the long lines, hard to find staff, and even the long pharmacy wait can be off-putting. I swear I'm getting spoiled by online delivery options. Brick and mortar places are just so hit and miss these days. Customer service is practically non-existent and while this place cuts the mustard, it does so just barely. read more

Update: was in the area and needed a few things so I thought I'd try it again. The self checkout line was eight deep, and there was appeared to be only one other regular register open. This remains one of the crappiest Safeway stores in the area, thanks to chronic understaffing.. Never again. read more

What a contrast--the staff at the front registers are very nice and helpful, and the pharmacy staff is just the opposite. Several times I've gone to the pharmacy to have prescriptions filled, and routinely there'll be 5-6 people in line waiting to pick up with only one pharmacist working the register. The 3-4 other pharmacists, who can clearly see that there's an impatient line, just carry on filling prescriptions until the store manage--who I spoke with once about this--finally comes out and asks them to wait on customers. It's terrible customer service, and they ought to be told to fill their prescriptions when there's no line. If that's not possible, they need to either take less work on, or hire more people. Terrible pharmacy--I go elsewhere now. read more

I'm incredibly thankful for Gloria, one of the pharmacists! My prescription was going to cost $300 (with insurance and with a coupon). She took the time to see if there was any way to make it cheaper. She cleverly worked out that if I filled a smaller quantity over the duration of the prescription that it would be significantly cheaper and more manageable to purchase. I really appreciate her taking the time to make it possible for me to fill it. When I called back to refill it, she even remembered me. Thanks Gloria! read more

Poor experience here, and tired enough of poor customer service in general these days to tell this story. I ordered a photo through CVS online, to be delivered to this store. There were some emails from the online service after ordering, but no correspondence about the order coming in. I waited a good week past the time when the photo should have arrived before calling the store and sure enough the order was in, but no one bothered to notify me. When I entered the store, it was virtually empty. A store clerk (middle-aged man, first name began with an "A") came towards the me from a nearby aisle asking if he could help. I asked where the photo department was and said I needed to pick up an order--since they are prepaid, it's just a matter of finding and handing me the photo. He motioned to a station next to the registers, and I went to that spot. I fully expected that I would be helped, but instead he went behind the bank of registers, picked up a single leftover shopping basket, walked 25 steps over to the front door, returned it to the stack, and came back to the registers. As he returned, another customer had just lined up to check out and he motioned for him to come up to the register for checkout. I stood there in silent disbelief, while the astute customer stated the obvious to this dunce, which was that I was before him. At that point, I let loose and told the clerk this was inexcusably poor customer service, from his decision to put a basket back when he could have very easily been helping me, then deciding that he would help another customer who arrived after me with a full basket to be checked out when all he had to do was hand me a photo. Corporate, I hope you're paying attention, because I told this clerk that I'd be notifying you. Postscript: I just got a robocall from CVS telling me that my order was in, two days after picking it up...First and last time I will order photos through CVS. Postscript: I received a second robocall about my photo order being ready two weeks after receiving the first robocall--which arrived after I picked up my order. They kept an old prescription on record and filled it with that instead of the new one. Fortunately, I caught it, was told to go back in line and wait another 20 minutes for them to refill it. When I inquired about why they had two different prescriptions on file (old and new) the lead pharmacist answered, "Well, sometimes doctors give their patients several different prescriptions and let the patients choose which one they like the best." My most recent transaction at this CVS has sent me over the edge. Last week, my friend and myself went here to shop the sales because we don't have ,much money and it's easy to get things for a low price at CVS if you know how and you have the coupons, We can't get there earlier than 6 or 7 pm, so every time we go there we either check out with the manager or another cashier who I will only describe as challenged. We have no problems with the manager, he's very nice and very thorough, but the woman is lazy and said to me, "I shouldn't have to scan all of these coupons, it makes my wrist hurt." And I know it can be challenging, but we had no more than 10 coupons when she said this to me. And because she thinks it's not her job to scan the coupons, she just doesn't. We had ECBs(Extra Care Bucks) and she only scanned about $14 worth when we had $22 worth. I know it's hard to complain about getting $50 for $8, but that was money that we could have gotten off and that didn't sit right with me. So, I went back in to talk to the manager about it and there was nothing he could do, which I understand. TL;DR: Challenged cashier essentially stole $8 from me, nothing could be done. I will be calling corporate and looking for a new CVS. read more

To start off I neither love, nor hate this place. It is close, convenient, some of the staff are professional / courteous, and in a weird way it is nostalgic (I have been coming here since I was a kid). However, recently this CVS has started to go down hill - fast. For instance, around January 2016 this CVS decided that its 24/7 pharmacy was no longer needed. Now the pharmacy is open every day of the week, from roughly 9am to 9pm on weekdays, and from 9am to 6pm on weekends. While I can understand that those are peak hours for a particular set of clientele that you will definitely see every time you visit... their old off hours were the best times to go to the store. There were no 15+ minute waiting to pickup a prescription because of lengthy lines early in the morning or late at night. However, now, we wait. The same can be said for the store checkout line. I have never seen so many penny pinchers and coupon aficionados in all my life. Those lines can ground to a halt every time someone can't find their $0.10 off of laundry detergent coupon. Also, the store, especially the pharmacy technicians seem to be completely understaffed. For the most part they are generally strict, curt, and to the point when trying to refill anything. Also, a particular pharmacist seems to be judging me whenever I try to fill a prescription early for a medicine that I need to live. That's always fun. However, there are some truly nice people that work here, and there are some good things to be said... see first sentence. read more
