I've been a CVS customer for years. I've found their pharmacies convenient and easily accessible for the most part. My last two visits have been absolutely horrible and I will be switching pharmacies. This last visit, I was picking up medication for my 18 month old daughter. I thought I would use their convenient drive thru option because I'm currently 9 months pregnant and walking through the store is tough, especially after you just spent 3 hrs at urgent care with a sick toddler. I pulled up to the window after a short 5-10 minute wait and gave my information. The tech told me I needed to come inside to give my insurance information, mind you, my insurance has not changed since my daughter was born. Great.... I waddled myself back to the pharmacy counter at the back of the store and presented my card. A different tech then proceeded to tell me that they already had my insurance info and the card wasn't needed. So I was asked to walk in here for nothing? They then tell me that the two generic prescriptions I'm picking up are rather expensive, over $100 WITH my insurance. I ask to see the pre-coverage price and it's exactly the same as the price they are charging. So my insurance isn't covering these incredibly common, generic antibiotics through your pharmacy?? I've never had that happen before. Another tech goes to check me out and tells me they can discount the medications since there's no insurance coverage, which they ultimately did not do anyway. They also asked me more than once if I wanted to decline the medication. Do I not want the antibiotics my child needs?? Do they think that's an option because of their pricing model?? I don't appreciate being given the run around. Anyone who's ever had to deal with a sick child knows how exhausting and frustrating it can be without other people making the process more difficult. I feel like this pharmacy does not care about the customers, or try to do what they can to make things easier for people. They literally made my day more difficult just because they didn't properly check their records, nor did they advocate for my rx coverage and did nothing to help me with the cost of medications that would have been less than $20 at another pharmacy with generic drug pricing. In retrospect, I should have taken the prescription to another pharmacy, but I just wanted to help my child feel better as soon as I could. I will absolutely not be returning here in the future. read more

I came in with the intention to buy items but left shortly after because I felt extreamly creeped out and discriminated.... Today I went in early to get some invitations printed. When I ask the lady if I could come back in an hour because I didn't want my daughter late to school, she said that it would be ready in just one minute. I actually saw the last print come from the machine. Then she proceded to help 3 other customers and on the last one she talked for about five minutes about his grandkids and her grandkids. That's all nice when there is time but my kid was stressed out and late to her school. What she said would take one minute ended up taking over 23 minutes. I was so disappointed in CVS. Longs Drugs would never do this. Update: I tried to go talk to the supervisor and the rude lady told me she was the supervisor. When I told her she has to have a boss she said he was on a conference call and didn't know when he would be back. read more

Since my last review I have had visits to this location out of convenience of it being off the freeway. I'm not sure if it's under new management but I have noticed a significant change. The appearance of the store looks great and the red coupon center is updated and working every visit. The store is clean and I also learned that the "y mas" stores are priced a bit lower than the other CVS stores in town. I'm greeted every time I enter the store. Definitely going back. read more

I stopped into this CVS today trying to find a replacement for my favorite color of eye shadow and was rather disappointed to discover that though they carried my brand, they didn't have the correct shade. The main reason I go to drug stores is for their excellent selection of cosmetic products. They may be more expensive than a grocery store for the products they have in common, but their superior selection more than makes up for it. They did, however, have a good selection of hair products and I found what I needed there quickly. I've been to this particular location twice with a friend who was getting prescriptions refilled. I remember it taking a while to get filled, but the pharmacist was friendly and apologized for the wait. CVS has a fabulous selection of over the counter medications, and even a variety of snacks and beverages. The store itself is open from 8am-10pm seven days a week, but the pharmacy department is only open 8am-9pm Monday through Friday, 9am-6pm on Saturdays, and 10am-6pm on Sundays. This store would have received four stars except for the two transients who approached me in the parking lot. Seriously, not one transient was outside the 99 Cent Store next door, but there were two standing on the sidewalk outside. I do not appreciate being approached by strange men in parking lots. CVS needs to get on the ball and handle this. I certainly wouldn't come here by myself at night. read more

Just bad service. I place an order for a machine to help monitor my health three days ago, being told to call in each day to see if they receive it. After waiting three days, I am now being told that I actually have to place the order with a medical supply store, which they will order and reach out to me. If I could give negative stars, I would. In fact, I'm kind of annoyed yelp made me give them the 1 star. This is the closest Pharmacy to my house and I'm locked into using CVS because my employer provided insurance is CVS/Caremark. This is by far the worst pharmacy I have ever encountered. The staff is generally unhelpful, everything is disorganized and there are huge wait for prescriptions. It's not uncommon to drop off a prescription and get 1-4 hour wait times before you can pick it up. I gave them my insurance information and they told me that although the prescription was ready, they would need to re-bill it through the insurance and I should come back the next day. When I balked at that they said they would need at least an hour.. AN HOUR.. to reprint the label for a prescription that was already filled. This place is a joke. Save yourself some grief and go fill your prescriptions someplace else. read more

The CVS on Mt Vernon and Columbus ave is always crazy. Cant even get out of your car before someone is bumming for change at your car window. Parking lot is always a mess with a ton of trash. Looks like CVS sends out memos to the homeless that they can stay in their parking lot because there are a ton of them. I was waiting in the pharmacy drive through and a guy riding a bike almost passed out on heroin with the syringe still in his arm rode right in it to the front of my car. Today tried to make an appointment for a booster for Covid. Got a confirmation for 4 PM and I was good. 30 minutes later got a message that CVS canceled my appointment and to reschedule. So I did for the 4:00 PM and got a confirmation again and then got a cancellation notice from CVS again. Called CVS pharmacy on Mt Vernon And follow the prompts for Covid scheduling and got someone that could not even understand English and said I called the Covid CVS hotline. and hung up on me when I ask him to repeat himself because I couldn't understand what he said. I called the pharmacy number and followed prompts to speak with somebody directly in the pharmacy. On hold for 34 minutes. Told the phar tech that I scheduled the appointment which was confirmed and then immediately canceled by CVS multiple times and text said to reschedule. Asked what was going on. Tech said It was canceled because they do not have to booster in stock and to call another CVS. It would have been nice if the text said they do not have it in stock and not to call back to reschedule. Oh also had to go there a couple days ago inside the store which I hate to get my sons chemo medication and somebody at the door said we're closed come back in an hour our system is down. After arguing with him about people already in there shopping he finally opened the door and said fine come in. This place is crazy read more

The rating is for the pharmacy and if they would have 0 stars I'd put 0. Second time going here to get our sons prescription and they had my husband waiting for the prescription for 40 mins and when he asked they told him give us another 5-10 mins when he went back again they said they didn't have it to come back another day!!! This is horrible service top it off the first time the also made him wait forever and told him they lost it to wait longer this is ridiculous. Get better employees cvs and a better system! read more

While they are under construction, some mess is excused. What is not excused is their lack of clear price tags on the shelves or individual items. There aren't any price scanners, so you'd have to bring every item up to get scanned and waste a ton of time. For this reason alone I left empty handed. They had a fairly nice selection of Asian brand make up, but who knows how much they were. There were also a lot of empty space. Since that portion of the store was not seemingly under construction, it should have been better stocked. read more

I have had nothing but great customer service at this CVS since transferring a prescription over from Rite Aide. Rite Aide never had my medication in stock, even when this was a prescription that I had been refilling every month for over 5 years. And it wasn't just the Rite Aide on Mt. Vernon, but any Rite Aide I went to over on the central coast. But at CVS, whether it's the one on Mt. Vernon and Columbus or the one in San Luis Obispo, they are always able to refill my prescriptions on the spot. read more

The worst shopping experience one could possibly in counter. Went in to do some shopping, there are no shopping carts. I asked the cashier about a shopping cart, she tells me they're all gone. The parking lot is empty of cars, so where are the shopping carts? How are you supposed to shop with no cart? I gather a few items and go to the checkout. There is one check-stand open with approximately five people in line. The cashier is dealing with a difficult customer. I stood there for 15 minutes while she waited on the same customer. She never once attempted to call for a back up cashier. I rarely shop here since it changed from Longs Drugs. I will not be going there again unless it's an absolute emergency. I am very disappointed in the services we have had with the pharmacy here, my husband has had a broken finger for the past month in a half, he always recive his medication here but they have been off there game, they always mess up on the medication because of workers comp and when we go pick up they always say we have to pay! What, he's on workers comp he doesn't have to pay. He almost payed $100 bucks just for his antibiotics, we've had to wait a week for his meds and by the time he recive his meds it's to late. He ended getting an infection in his finger cause he didn't have his antibiotics in time or pain med cause they ran out of his pain meds as well. Very disappointed with CVS Pharmacy. read more

I have been going there for over 25 years, when it was longs drugs, etc, etc, this is the worst looking store on the outside, the drive through full of trash, was told its not there responsibility, really??? The pharmacy drive through window, looked like orange food had been thrown on it and there was so much dirt and dust on the counter and the window has not been cleaned in I don't know how long. No pride of business and certainly not wanting to invite new customers in!! Really Slummy and Gross! Not going back, thank goodness have plenty of options that take pride in appearance. read more

CVS pharmacy has gone down hill in the last year!! Employees in the pharmacy are sooo bad. They get the prescriptions wrong and they get a attitude with you. I called them up to see if my prescription was ready and told me they put back on the shelve because I never came to pick. I just ordered it 3 days ago.
