The pharmacy wait is ridiculous . They do not have enough staff. If you call, you will be placed on hold and it will never be picked up. If you stop off for your prescription, be prepared to wait and wait. It seems that corporate has cut the staff. The front of the store was redesigned with only two registers. There are several self checkout lines. This is all to save money. There is NO customer service here. SAD. Update- I'm back now at 9:45PM. I'm number 7 on their line for pick up. The absolute worst pharmacy I've ever been to. Prescriptions called in are never filled on time. They tell you that it'll be a 30min wait when you go to pick up your prescription, despite it being 10hrs after it was called in. Then when you return 3hrs later, its still not ready. This has happened the last 4 times my wife and I have filled our prescriptions. Literally their entire pharmacy staff should be fired. The unorganized chaos there is ridiculous. If you need your meds for a medical emergency, DO NOT get your prescription here, it would be equivalent to playing Russian roulette with a fully loaded gun. read more

It's open 24 hours, it is well-lit and clean, there's plenty of people around at all hours of the day and they always have something on sale that I might need or just want. Yes, I will buy that 5 lb bag of M&Ms for $2.99. The parking is sometimes a little hairy because we have the Slate wannabe Cue Bar right next door (this is Bayside people) and sometimes people park by the CVS when all they really want to do is go drink over-priced booze and shoot some pool. Honestly wish I could give a zero star review because I cannot find one thing to recommend this cvs. Never been to a less efficient pharmacy. Standard waits are over an hour... don't know what takes them so long, but it's insane that retrieving medication and getting payment can take as long as it does here... maybe they need to hire more techs or pharmacists, but I've also waited on hold for half an hour. This place is pathetic.. I take back the hiring of more techs and pharmacists since I have waited for just as long when they had more than 6 people in the pharmacy.... Absolutely terrible. I'm not really sure how anyone gives this place a bad rating. It's a CVS Pharmacy that is 24 Hours a Day. When I was drunk and needed Gatorade to help me survive the night and the morning after, CVS was there for me. When I needed a quick snack before a road trip, CVS was there. Forgot a card for an upcoming birthday or wedding? CVS was there. Need a silly $15 White Elephant gift for a White Elephant party? CVS was there. And talk about all the times I've been sick. Whether it was through their pharmacy or their wide selection of medicine, CVS was there. Always... never closed. Parking can get limited, but even on their toughest days... just circle around the lot for 2-3 times and you'll find something. I'm not sure why anyone uses a cashier anymore at CVS... as it will take you at least 4X as long to check out. If you use the self-check out, however, there is ALWAYS one that is out of order or one that is cash only. So be on the lookout for that. Otherwise, I recommend this CVS for all your pharmaceutical needs. read more

This is for the pharmacy: I've been getting prescriptions here for years and I've always taken for granted their "annoying" pharmacy calls reminding me of prescriptions that need to be refilled, flu shots that should be taken, allergies to watch out for, and their promptness and friendliness. My doctors call in prescriptions and the pharmacy calls me right away and leaves an automated message when it's ready. And if I don't pick up, they call again and again. Annoying - but that's right considering you need to be consistent with meds. After realizing not all doctors are like one I have in particular who takes her own doctor time to call me and leave messages and wants to talk directly to me regarding results of lab tests and such, instead of having a nurse or office assistant call... I came to realize that patient care is not all equal. (Curious? GYN: Dr. Hetty Chung, LIJ). Some care more than others. And I don't know if CVS cares - lol - but they must have some great customer service policies or the people they hire are generally just really nice and hardworking people. (Ah, exceptions exist everywhere, even here, but I don't focus on that when my millions of experiences here have been just right - and I say "just right" cuz I really have taken my pharmacy experiences here for granted. Of course when you're getting a prescription filled, it's because you're probably in pain or have a condition that worries you, which makes you cranky to say the least, which means you're less likely to identify good customer service and express your appreciation. You just need it to be fixed NOW. The BEST part about this place: There are at least three pharmacies closer to my house but they aren't open 24/7 (and most of my prescription runs are late at night cuz I tend to forget and whatnot) and they are not always stocked like this one is. Believe me: I am on lots of meds, more than I care to admit to myself. For one med, twice they didn't have enough for a month supply but they gave me two days' worth to hold me over until the order came in. That's fine. They can't be perfect! As for the rest of their store: the items (makeup, maybe others too) are generally $2-5 more than what you would find at Target or Ulta or Amazon, so I usually browse around and then find cheaper prices elsewhere, usually while waiting 15 min for my script to be filled. You can't blame them for not being an entirely spotless pharmacy because they are open 24/7. That's like people from Europe or Asia complaining that the subways in NYC are so dirty. a minute ago So apparently if ur holding a bag and kneeling down looking at something bc its placed on the bottom ur suspicious of stealing something. My mother went to look at brushes and a short dark haired employee goes to ask if she needed help which is ok from there which my mother responded with no thank you im just looking at the brushes. She said ok and pretended to work around there which in reality she was checking to see if she was going to steal something. She was just standing there so my mother asked is everything ok? She responded with yes thats her area of workso she "claims" she has to be there but in fact just continued to watch. She finally left only to soon come back after to check up on her again! I've been a customer for over 20 years. Overall it's great. Yeah sometimes your experience may not be the best but ain't nothing to complain about. I witnessed a crazy lady yell at one of employees screaming at the top of her lungs in front of her two small kids too. She clearly said that she was going to punch the sales guy in the nose and the cvs guy who is the gentlest nicest employee says "you're going to punch me in the nose?" Oh boy did that set her off. She went to crazy town on him. Scary and ugly woman. Oh her poor two young boys. They looked scared but also looked like they've been through this before. Sigh. You can't reason with crazy. The cvs guy spoke back with a Calm demeanor and I know this is his true self even she kept provoking him and was recording him too. He's always been a professional helpful employee. Kudos to the cvs guys. I wished the cops came and took her away. What a friggin nut job. She threatened that she would leave a bad review and that she works for a lawyers office. Good for you lady. The only plus about this CVS is the fact that they are open 24 hours. The pharmacy department was very rude to my wife and had made several errors in which we were blamed for. My wife feels very uncomfortable to go there again. The CVS Pharmacist who took care of us was not nice at all and very very very rude. Shame on CVS manager and district manager for not catching this by now. The Pharmacy should be retrained. The rest of the store is nicely organized. Now they have those automated registers to help save time and money for the store. This should mean whoever is working in the store should be able to help you find things right? WRONG! They are all too busy chit chatting with each other and friends that come to visit the store. The manager should be reprimanded for this as well as all the employees. The prices for office supplies are all over priced and the staff is rude and not helpful at all. Why would I ever go back here again??? Customers beware! This review is about the pharmacy only. I don't know what's happened to this place. They used to be incredibly efficient. Now everytime i call them for a simple question, I'm almost 100% certain that they go out of their way to neglect the call. Literally every time i call, which is usually once a month, i have a simple question that will take 2 minutes to answer at most. I end up waiting 30 minutes on the line and having to hang up. Also, the lines in store at the pharmacy are always incredibly backed up every time i go, and my perscription is always on back order. I don't know what happened, maybe they got new management, but they are royally blowing it. Ive been having to take a bus to the next cvs to get my perscriptions, god forbid the one in my neighborhood ever decides to get it together like they used to have it. I actually never do this, but i am pretty sick and tired of their gross incompetence, and i will be speaking personally with who ever is in charge about how I feel. Twenty four hours a day, seven days per week, 365 days per year, this place is open. It was open during the great hurricane Sandy, open at 1201 a.m. on New Year's Eve, and open during many blizzards. Honestly I can roam around in this CVS for hours. Buy 4 things from the cosmetics section and spend 100+..which happens often :( (the shame). This is definitely the worst CVS I have ever been in. When picking up a prescription i have to continually wait for a half hour just to pick it up. At times I have to wait two hours just to have a prescription filled. It is not an isolated incident but all the time day or night. My husband needed a Sunday late night prescription filled. We arrived at Cvs after our visit to our Prohealth extended care center. The pharmacy was busy and appeared to be short staffed. The pharmacist John was amazing. He answered questions, took phone calls, explained medications and even made sure the insurances were in so we didn't have to overpay. He found over the counter medication that wasn't visible. He was pleasant never short with anyone. He gave everyone respect and courtesy . We made sure he knew we appreciated him. read more

They made a good move getting the self checkout counters because the lines in here used to be ridiculously long and slow for no reason. It's been a while since I've been to the one at this location but on my recent visit I was surprised to find that some of the people from back then still work there. The shelves feel pretty cluttered here, and kind of narrow. The prices aren't all that great unless something is on sale. There's this one guy, really short, never rude but I always feel like he's trying to scope me out and follow me around the store without making it seem obvious. Okay dude, you aren't good at being stealthy I know what you're doing. May be he's the manager or something. They do have a lot of stock on the items they carry and a good variety of products. I also want to make a point to mention that the plant's that are on sale here are treated terribly. Most of them are dead or half dead. They look like they haven't been watered or cared for in ages. There was one that was so old and dried up I couldn't believe they left it sitting at the counter. The shelves definitely need some good maintenance. Overall the employees are okay, on the younger side. I've never filled an RX here so I can't provide any detail as to the experience. There's a pretty big lot with plenty of free parking which is good because parking in this area can be a pain sometimes. read more

Thankful to have this 24 hour store in the neighborhood. When your kid spikes a high fever at midnight, or when he decides to tell you he needed you to make 2 dozen cupcakes for school the next morning as he was going to bed, this place was there for us time and time again. During the humane hours of the day, the Pharmacy staff took care of us with utmost professionalism despite always being busy. They're not a fast food business so I don't get why people would be irked by waiting more than 15 - 20mins for their prescriptions. I'd rather them take the time to get mine right, making sure the doctor prescribed appropriately. read more

So during this global pandemic, I picked up an inhaler due to the asthma I have. When I tried to use said inhaler, it was broken, the pump didn't work. I called this cvs which I had picked it up from a week before and they told me I could not get another inhaler without the original box it came in! They fought with me for hours until I lost it. How can you refuse an asthmatic their inhaler when you sold them a broken one!!!!!!! Especially when their is a major respiratory flu going around. The girl who work the midnight shift made a very poor decision. I couldn't imagine how you could speak to someone on the phone and deny them something they need. After fighting with her for hours, she finally agreed to giving me a working inhaler! Wow thank you sooo much for your service cvs! The pharmacy is terrible. I work in a doctor's office, and have had several patients complain that the wait is always long. In addition, we have had several times where there was an error on their part in processing the drug claim, but they would tell the patient it was our fault the patient wasn't getting their meds. Even had one very rude pharmacist chastise our office for this, when it turned out in the end, THEY were doing something wrong, again. Very unprofessional. The only plus is that they are open 24 hours. If possible, go to the nearby Rite Aids (either the one close to Northern or the one on 39th Ave), which are much better in terms of service and courtesy. read more

This rating is only for the pharmacy. It's great that they're opened 24 hours and they do properly dispense my prescription correctly and in timely manner. The problem is the counter staff. The ABSOLUTE worse. They are extremely stingy with general courtesy or basic communication exchange. Forget about hello, thank you, etc. If you ask them a question, they will act like they didn't hear you. Then if you repeat yourself, thinking perhaps maybe they did not hear, they will snap back for you to wait and give you an attitude. If you ask them a question, either they're annoyed or they will mutter the answer to themselves without looking up so you have listen intently and look closely for their answer. Yet they will have no problem yelling out from the back and ask you what is the medical condition of the medication you are filling. Um...okay so much for the health privacy act! This evening I went in to get bottle deposit back for a few water bottles I found in my car and the door greeter tells me I have to return the bottles in a clear plastic bag. I DID not find that amusing, and the way she informed me was very hostile. I immediately asked why they couldn't inform me of that when I bought the water and it Is ridiculous to expect people to purchase clear bags to return the bottles. IF IT IS INCONVENIENT FOR RHE STORE TO RETURN THE 'deposits ' for the bottles THEN DON't sell plastic bottles. It's that simple. What a scary door greeter, omg! LOL I think she doesn't understand her Job because once shared my opinion on their CLEAR PLASTIC BAG DEMAND, she made nasty looks towards me as if she was a grade school bully, I am sure she was surprised when I told her directly that wasn't appropriate. The pharmacy aspect is horrible. Prior to coronavirus, always long lines. My husband is currently having an issue with his account, forcing us to go to the store to pick up the medication (since they won't let him text due to this problem). We're seniors, too. I contacted them via Facebook and Twitter; both promised to forward his contact info to someone who would get back to us. Nothing. Will change pharmacy in the fall when we can change our drug insurance. I know things are really tough now, but tech support should be able to call back or at least give an eta as to when. read more

This is my regular pharmacy. I rarely shop in stores for beauty products anymore because I'm anal and need to read at least 20 reviews before I buy anything. I'm also usually hesitant to ask sales employees for help because they never know their products as well as I'd like. However, I had some time to waste this morning and I didn't feel like conducting an hour of internet research on my phone in the middle of an aisle, so I asked Danielle, one of their Beauty Advisors, for a moisturizer recommendation. GIVEN THE WRONG MEDICATION. Came in with prescription for a MMR vaccine. Left with Menactra, a meningococcal vaccine (Did not know until I searched it up). I left the pharmacy with a suspicion that what I was given wasn't the right medication but I gave the staff the benefit of the doubt and went home. But the whole situation didn't sit well so I looked up the medication online and only found results for meningococcal so I called the pharmacy and asked if it was the right medication. After being put on hold for a few minutes (assuming they spoke to the head pharmacist) I was assured that it was the right medication. As a nursing student that administers medications frequently and researches them beforehand I did not believe a single word. I went back to the place and told them It was the wrong medication. Initially they were unapologetic and the first thing they did was start a refund for the Menactra (wrong medication). So they obviously knew it was the wrong medication.. Then they proceeded to find the correct MMR vaccine (which literally states MMR vaccine) originally $170 but was waived for their incompetence and apologized. The person who manned the cashier at the time had the audacity to ask if it was the right medication this time. I'M AM THE CUSTOMER. He asked me like I was suppose to confirm the right medication. What angered me was the incompetence and lies that came from this CVS Pharmacy. I'm very disappointed and worried for past and future customers. Update: *Went to the doctors office and found out the mmr vaccine the manager gave me was expired and had to return to the store and deal with the pharmacy team once again. Horrible experience and a huge waste of my time. Just a series of mistakes and carelessness that should never be allowed to be in an environment that handles prescription medication.* read more

I am so disgusted with CVS. The only reason I have continued to shop there is because of the coupons but even the coupons are no longer enough of a value. CVS' pricing and sale policies are confusing and infuriating. Lately the coupons come at the same time CVS has a storewide sale so that the coupon can't be used on most of the items. Most of their sales are BOGO which is tantamount to extortion! If you don't need or want to buy 2 items, you can't just buy one and have the coupon apply. I have contacted the corporate office about this and they indicated that this is no longer their policy. A customer does not have to take the BOGO deal to use the coupon. But that still hasn't been communicated down the line. The other day I had a 40% coupon off one item. I specifically chose an item that did not have a "yellow" BOGO sign on it. When I went to check out, I was told that item was on sale EVENTHOUGH IT DID NOT HAVE A SALE SIGN ON IT. Furthermore, I asked the manager to go to the aisle and recognize that the sale signage was not there and he refused! That's customer service??!! Last year alone, on my last receipt of the year, I tallied over $700 in savings. That means I must have spent over $2,000 at CVS, mostly in one store ... and this is the response I get!! My friends and I actually have conversations about the confusion of pricing at CVS. This is ridiculous. And CVS is not even the better store. They have fewer and fewer name brands ...mostly their own store brand ... and the shelves are picked over. The stores don't even make a nice appearance. I am finally cutting the cord and bringing my business to RiteAid and Walgreens. read more

I wish there was a negative star rating for my dealings with the pharmacy dept. The people working in the front are fine, it's the pharmacy department that is the absolute worst. My doctor called in the same prescription for my husband and I about 3 hours prior to my picking up. There were about 9 people in line already with one register open. I saw a few of the staff just laughing and joking with each other, one finally opened a register when people got upset and asked is there only one register???? The dummy just took that one customer, then walked away and pretended to be busy. After 15 minutes, they gave me mine only, they said they don't have any record of my husband's. I told them it was called in at the same by the same doctor. they said they have a prescription for someone with the same name as my husband, but with a different birthdate. I asked if the doctor who prescribed it was the same as mine and he said it was. The dummy #2 said I need to call my doctor and have him talk to the pharmacist. I called my doctor on my cell and and he said he has the original script and it clearly has the correct birthdate when he sent it to them. The staff said the doctor would need to call the pharmacy to let them know. So I step over to the side to wait, I hear the phone ringing and they have this alert that lets them know there are calls. After 20 mins, my doctor calls me and said he's been on hold for 20 mins, and he can't hold any longer, he was with a patient. I asked dummy#2 and said you told me to get my doctor to call, yet, no one answers the phone, what kind of crappy service is this? Dummy #2 then shoves my husband's prescription to me telling me its ready. apparently, they typed in the wrong birthdate when inputting, but didn't have the decency to admit their mistake and apologize. Damn fools should all be FIRED!!!! Dummy #2 said as you can see, we are busy. I said yeah, I can see a couple of you laughing in the back and you being a wiseass. This is not the first time they were acting like jackasses, either to me or other customers. A staff from the front of the store saw what happened and said I should call Corporate to complain, and he said alot of people have complained about the pharmacy service. I will definitely call Corporate and encourage everyone else who experienced really shoddy service to as well. Hopefully they will do a complete overhaul and fire every single fool who works in their back pharmacy. Judging by numerous reviews of this CVS, the pharmacy dept is the main problem. The associates are always helpful when I come here. Today, I looked like i had the hardest time looking for what I wanted. Well, that's probably because I was having a hard time. A sales associate noticed while she was returning items and approached me. I rarely encounter an associate that approaches the customer for help in these pharmacy stores. Then I realized another thing that I needed and checked the aisle myself. I couldn't find it, so I went back to her and she helped me again. I was so embarrassed to ask for help again. Anyway, during checkout time, I had a question about a coupon and another sales associate provided me with the information I needed. Lastly, when I did the self-checkout, another associate noticed that the bags were too small and asked if I needed a bigger bag. Typically, I don't require much help nor am I usually approached for it. But today was just one of those days, and it was perfect that the associates were all helpful. read more

i will only go to this particular CVS located on Northern & Bell Blvd Bayside,New York. I almost hate to even share the address because when you finds good thing you have a tendency you want to keep a "treasure" to yourself for fear that people will flock from everywhere & the people who already know about this particular CVS will have to share what the regular customers know- the pharmacist, whose name is John, is & has been since he started working in this CVS, makes time for every customer who has a question about their prescription or advice about over the counter medicine. It doesn't really matter what your question is he will always stop , no matter how busy he is, never making you feel like you're disturbing him, even if it requires calling your health insurance or your physician; there has never been a time when I'm in there ( whether I'm picking up some items from the general store or a prescription, that he is helping someone or letting them know " it's no problem, that's what I am here for & after making sure he has helped the customer before he goes back to his primary duties( filling prescriptions as they come in), he will always make sure he has answered all your questions or concerns. John should be what all CVS pharmacists or any pharmacist should be aspiring to be like- kind, knowledgeable, customer friendly & always maintaining his professionalism ( even on occasion when there have been a unruly customer). I a. Sending a copy of this commentary ( along with the store # & location of course) to CVS corporate in hopes that they at least acknowledge & perhaps send him a letter thanking him fir being the epitome of what the CVS brand always is trying to project to present & future customers!! It's a great pharmacy, nice workers and it's open 24/7 for whatever you need. They got sales pretty often, I mean who doesnt want 2 cans of Arizona ice tea for a buck. I would often times visit to get some soup or a drink while theyre on sale, prices can go down from one third or half the original price so the pricing isn't too bad. Ive also had a tough moment as I was walking to college, although my stomach told me to go back home and miss out on class, I thought I could just walk it off. But thinks got risky and the closest place that I could get to was CVS. I walked in but I couldnt find the bathroom and I was about to give up and die, but then one of the guys working in the back came out at the perfect time and asked me if I needed help. He probably knew that something was wrong just by seeing my face, but this guy saved me right before I was about to fall into despair. Thanks CVS read more
