I'm not Italian but I would like to think I know a damn good Italian cookie when I taste one. I grew up eating a lot of these from Little Italy and Brooklyn. These are by far thee BEST Italian cookies!!! I only get to have them when I go visit my sister in Bayside, Queens. Since I was hosting Thanksgiving this year, my sister and BIL came over with a 2.5 pound box ($20 a pound) of these delectable treats. I don't know what it is but our entire family goes crazy for them. I actually ate 5 in one sitting with my hot cup of coffee. Lol. I can't say enough great things about the awesome folks at Joe's Sicilian Bakery! Whether it's delicious birthday cakes or freshly made apple, cherry or pecan pies Joe's is my family's go to bakery. The Italian breads and cookies are to die for. If you need a cake for special occasions call them several days in advance and you will be happy you did. During Christmas time, pack a sleeping bag because the line to get into the shop is very long and often wraps around the corner. For this Easter, I ordered not one but two 9" carrot cakes for two separate family gatherings. When it came time for dessert, the biggest lines were for the carrot cakes we ordered from Joe's Sicilian Bakery! Everyone raved about how delicious and moist the cakes were. We faced stiff competition against cakes our family members brought from Mia's in Brooklyn and Dortoni's in East Meadow, but at the end of the night the carrot cakes were gone. The Rainbow Cookie Cupcake was the best cupcake I've had in the last few years. I'm a huge cookie cake fan, so I was excited when I saw this in the display. It was just as good as it looked. I got an assortment of cookies, which was addictive and not too dry. I had to stop myself from finishing them all in one go. I also tried a bit of the pizza, which they heated up. It was unexpectedly good for a bakery! This is very much a spot where you're in and out, so there's not any crowding or noise. Great local bakery selling classic Italian cookies by the pound and both full and mini sized desserts. To my surprise, they now sell pizza too! How convenient for me as I intended to buy lunch after hitting up the bakery. Win win. The servers behind the counter were very nice and friendly. They took their time with each customer as needed. The space is a bit small now that we're social distancing inside, so only three customers at a time for the line inside. My friend and I were here for the first time so you know we had to look at everything!! I've heard about this place through my neighbors and have even tried their desserts before from friends but I never went to the store before. At one point we were greeted by the owner it would seem. He had overheard us talking about how we had not had a certain dessert in the longest. He chimed in with a friendly demeanor and was cracking jokes with my friend. Now that makes for a repeat customer! Greeting us and making sure that they refilled what needed to be as well as checking orders (people phone in more these days for pick up from what it sounded like). I'm happy to see these smaller mom and pop shops working during the Pandemic and trying to operate as normal. Even more reason to frequent the business. If you don't want to see them go, you need to support these folks! I'll be back... Cake order pending. BTW, I bought the pizza (pretty good) and I left with some cookies with the jelly in the middle and sprinkles on the outside (forget what they are called), two red velvet cupcakes and some sfogliatelles. Amazing Italian pastries and cookies. Their lobster tail is huge and really weighs. It is filled completely (had the cannoli filled and there was not one air pocket). Their cannoli sandwich (cannoli filling between two mini chocolate chip cookies) is very tasty. Hubby had the rainbow cookie cupcake. He loved it and we were both amazed at the amount of jam inside of the cupcake. He also had the mini carrot cake which he was not fond of. It was very dry. Carrot cake is usually moist. Daughter had the anisette cookies and fell in love with them. She said they are best anisette cookie she has ever had. Apricot cookies are delicious. We purchased a decent amount of items and still haven't tried everything yet. Will get to them though. read more

Great local Italian bakery!! I felt comfortable while in the bakery. Door was left open, plexiglass barrier between customer and staff, money tray used so there is no contact. All wearing masks inside and were friendly and helpful. The cookies were delicious and fresh. We chose the cookies with chocolate chips and the sprinkle cookies with raspberry filling. They also sell apricot but we weren't sure if the kids would like it so we skipped those. The entire family enjoyed them and we will definitely be back! read more

So disappointed. Going here for too many years. My family wanted only jelly butter cookies. So obviously I go here since they have an array of delicious cookies. Not very busy for the morning of Christmas Eve. At last my turn. I can tell this older woman been having a bad day even though it's only 9 am. I can tell they had premade batches of cookies but were an assortment. So I asked for 3 pounds of only jelly butter cookies. She pointed behind me and said that they are there. I looked and said where? She came around the counter and pointed to a 2 pound bag but I can tell already that there are regular butter cookies plus can't tell how many are in the middle. I said my wife WANTS only jelly. She said well you buy two packages totaling 4 pounds! I said why should I? Now I am angry for being rail roaded. I said I want 3 pounds of only jelly butter cookies that you have behind the counter. Are these not for sale??? I said I go elsewhere. Then she complied and provided me with only 2.5 pounds of cookies at an inflated price. To top it off they only take cash but charge tax. Hmm maybe contact IRS It's amazing how some owners try to justify their employees or family members actions. I was going to contact this man tomorrow so he can rectify the problem as I would do as a business man. But unfortunately, I was wrong. I never said I did not have it wrapped like the ones on a shelf. I needed More and wrapped. Also only JELLY. Obviously you don't either respect your customers so I will decline contacting you tomorrow. As for tax, I wouldn't know considering I did not receive a receipt. I firmly believe you're not the actual owner that established this at one time a wonderful fixture in Bayside. read more
