Today I experienced something that I thought didn't exist as much in the world we currently live in. The pharmacists, Sandra and especially Cindy, were incredibly amazing and kind people. I broke my foot and was there to pick up pain meds. They let me sit while they processed the prescription and brought me water. Not even 10 minutes later, it was ready. Cindy then checked me out without me having to move. But the most incredible thing was, I live a block away, and she offered to drive me home. I honestly almost cried I was so touched how above and beyond she went to help me. I truly cannot thank her enough for her true and amazing kindness today. read more

Today, I tried to give CVS my new insurance information. The first time I called, a pharmacy technician was ready to help me, but told me to call back once I confirmed one missing bit of information about my coverage. But when I called back, a second technician told me she would need me to come in person to help me. It seemed very disjointed, and almost like the second technician just didn't want to take the time, considering how far I got in the process with the first. So turned off I might just start going to a new CVS entirely. If the first had told me to come in person to confirm my identity or something, that would have been a different story, but I don't understand why the story changed so much over the course of, quite literally, five minutes. read more

Pros: Convenient CVS location and standard stock with a good grocery selection. Plenty of self-checkout stands. The redeeming quality is the parking lot that allows for easy in and out as parking on the street is a hassle. Cons: This place is an average CVS that happens to have employees that are above-average in rudeness and outward displays of distaste for their jobs. I can recall a few times that I was made to feel as if I was a waste of their time. One time stands out in particular: it was late and I was picking up some last minute things after work, and I was struggling with the self-checkout. An employee had to come over, and she was visibly put off by having to do so. After unlocking software on the machine, she addressed me in the most condescending tone and said, in reference to the 'courtesy CVS card' feature, "I want you to take your little finger and press this big red button right here so that you can get items on sale, honey." I was obviously astonished by this. If you enter this CVS, you can reasonably expect to have to deal with bad salespeople. read more

The staff were really friendly when I came in. They greeted me at the door and were helpful. That was the only good thing I noticed at this CVS. I went in looking for Lactaid milk and they had a couple different types of cream, skim milk, 2%, whole, the weird Over the Moon stuff, and soy... everything but Lactaid. I got some fat free half and half, but when I got home, I realized that it was expired and had strange lumps in it. Not impressed at all. I used to live around the corner from this CVS so needless to say I was there all the time. They have amazing hours and the pharmacy is open pretty late too. It's nice and big and has a very convenient parking lot. The staff is usually pretty nice. They have a good card selection like someone already mentioned, so I got pretty much everyone's bday cards here (usually last minute at 11:45pm). Their late hours also helped me avoid buying anything at the store24 unless it was 2am or so. This CVS can get overrun with BC kids at the beginning of the schoolyear buying supplies (or at any time really, but that comes with the territory being in Cleveland Circle), which also explains why they run out of sale items so quickly, students can buy it all up by mid-afternoon, forget about it when cereal or soda or cookies go on sale. This CVS used to be in a complete craphole across the street next to the liquor store so it was always dark and dirty and way too crowded and claustrophobic. When you've shopped at their original location you appreciate this one a little more. Oh, and the lady that always asks you for your CVS card even when you have it there on the counter is just like that, she's been working there forever. She's helpful though if you ever have any questions. I'd get a little robotic too if I worked til midnight at CVS every day for the last decade I guess. read more

Not a great deal to say except that I agree with what has already been said. My biggest complaint (lost them a star) is that they often run out of sale items and do not give rainchecks. Also, they don't carry any decent bread-stuffs. Only awful wonderbread. Yeah, it's a wonder anyone eats it, and a wonder they're allowed to call it bread. On balance though, clean store, decent staff, no real issues. read more

Absolutely horrible. Pharmacy never has my prescription in stock. Last time I dropped it off, an intern told me wrong information and now I have to go back and take time out of my day to find another CVS that has it in stock. Was offered a $10 credit, but will they refund my train ticket and my time? On top of this, the Pharmacist who I spoke with clearly didn't care about the situation. I don't feel comfortable putting my prescription in the hands of interns or licensed pharmacists who clearly don't care about their "patients". read more

We live nearby so this is our go-to place. Sometimes the pharmacy gets a bit frustrating but MOST of the time they are great to deal with. 4 stars for pharmacy, 5 stars for store. read more

The pharmacist at this location is arrogant and not helpful, he requires retraining in customer service, dispensing correct information and management skills. The team in the pharmacy under his direction are not able to perform adequately. read more

I've been coming here for years because the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful! The pharmacists know everybody's name and go above and beyond to help the customer. Eric is my favorite! He seems to really care about all his customers and has helped me immensely when I had some issues with the my insurance and the Health Connector. Even my 3 year old daughter loves coming to the CVS in Cleveland Circle because of the really friendly staff. There are other CVS's closer to our home, but we patronize this one because Eric is the BEST!!! read more

Don't settle for self checkouts! This store converted to the self checkout machines & there was no clerk at the front desk, essentially leaving customers to "choose" the machines, paying full price & saving the company money (& there had to by layoffs with the transition.) I watched for 5 minutes & there were three complaints about how the machines malfunctioned & there were several other customers that obviously were unhappy, but they all used the machines. Customers should not support this crap. I'm not shopping there again. read more

Hands down THE worst cvs pharmacy I've ever been to. Not only do they manage to screw up entering insurance information into the system every time I switch to another plan, they're also unapologetic for any mistakes that they make. I've had to go back and forth between my insurance and the pharmacy for so long just to update my information. They kept saying that my insurance didn't cover my prescription, but I knew for a fact that it did. When one of the pharmacists there FINALLY decided to pick up the phone and call my provider, they resolved it. I don't understand why it's so hard for them to complete such a simple task. Because I needed my prescription ASAP, I ended up paying out of my own pocket and was told that I could come into the store to get reimbursed. When I went back to the pharmacy the next day, another pharmacist told me that it was too late for me to fill out the reimbursement form. I find it absurd that they did not take responsibility for giving me mixed answers regarding the reimbursement policy, which caused me to spend so much money on something that was covered by my insurance-- but obviously, the staff is incompetent to the point that they don't even know how to enter the correct information into the system. Also, tell me why I receive MULTIPLE text messages per day asking me to pick up my prescription TODAY. I get that I signed up for text reminders, but there is absolutely no reason to be that pushy to your customers. Definitely won't be coming back to this pharmacy ever again. read more

When I visited my son's pediatrician's office there was a mistake on my/their end as far as to which CVS on Beacon Street I needed to pick up the prescription from. I stated Cleveland Circle, but CC and CC (Coolidge Corner) can get confused very easily. I learned my lesson and will make sure to state the exact address next time but while I still had the need for the medication, and couldn't go to the other pharmacy for a pick up, the Cleveland Circle CVS staff was AMAZING! They had the prescription faxed from the C Corner branch and ready in less than 10 min! Waiting with a toddler, who's not feeling 100% and needing to rush back home to leave my child with a sitter to get to an appointment, this crew could've not made it easier for me! CVS finally lost me as a customer. I don't know if this is the general direction that this company is headed, or this branch, but the slow drip drip of poor customer service. The staff are all fine, but management is tying their hands. This has been my pharmacy for years, but recently I had to split my prescriptions, because this pharmacy doesn't carry the dosage of a medication my doctor prescribes. Lots of different stories and several trips to the pharmacy before I got the full story. Lots of "we are out, we'll be getting it soon". The robo-calls that my prescription is ready is beyond annoying. They finally provided an opt-out. The self-checkouts drive me crazy. They are inefficient and don't speed anything up. I get the CVS coupons and flyers, but more times than not what is in on sale in the flyer is not on sale on the shelf and those $6 off $30 coupons you send to your card, often don't register. So, today, I will longer be shopping at CVS. Sorry guys. Last straw. read more

I have been using this CVS' pharmacy for over 5 years, and have always found the pharmacists to be courteous and professional and they have answered any questions I have had regarding prescriptions. The front register staff and stockers have also been very helpful. Their parking lot on busy Beacon St. Is an added bonus. read more

This location is generally alright. Most times the employees have greeted me at the door, which is nice. However, there is one lady with long grey hair who is either decently pleasant or a complete bitch. I was just in the store to buy some milk and that lady noticed one of the self service checkout computers was closed so she opened it. She then proceeded to stand in front of the now open computer and have a conversation with a customer. I walked up to them and asked the grey haired woman if the computer was now open. What is the point of opening the computer if people cannot use it to check out. She slightly ignored me (she was in the middle of the conversation) but gave an ok. Neither she nor the customer moved from in front of the computer...how am I supposed to use it if no one moves?? I moved toward the computer in hopes of checking out my item and accidentally bumped the employee. She said excuse me and I said pardon me. She then retorted and mumbled something as she was walking away. From a customer service standpoint, this is extremely rude and disrespectful. This lady needs to be retrained and remember that she chose to work in customer service. read more
