I've never been able to fill or pick up an rx here without something weird and ridiculous happening. If you or your kids are already sick, they will make your day and your health worse. This pharmacy regularly loses prescriptions in their system, claims no record of prescriptions being called in when they definitely were, fails to have refills ready, etc. Once when I was picking up antibiotics for my kid, they accidentally added a random $20 leg brace to my bill. I pointed out there was an item on there besides the antibiotics, and then they couldn't remove the line item without searching the store and physically finding the random item and scanning it. From their reaction, it seemed like something that happens all the time, so look carefully at what you are being charged for before you sign. I don't usually leave negative reviews because I know any business can have an off-day. But this place is consistently dysfunctional. read more

Horrible wait time in drive-thru pharmacy at this location . If people require additional assistance or take more than 2-3 minutes to get their prescription they should asked to come inside. I'm at the point where my business will be taken elsewhere going forward. Prescriptions are never ready by the time or date expected. The service is horrible with no explanation for why prescriptions are not prepared on time. My prescription should have been ready on Tuesday...it's Thursday and it wasn't ready. On 12/12/19 went through the CVS drive-through to pick up prescriptions. Their contracted power washers started working with my car there. The power washing fluid and debris hit my car, damaging it, and hit me inside of my car. Notified CVS manager who would not stop the workers. read more

Every time I come to this CVS, there's an issue. They never communicate anything with my Dr. or with me until I get right to the window to pick up. You will wait in line for the drive thru for 30 minutes. I'm writing this sitting in the drive thru and I've been sitting here for 20 minutes. It makes no sense. I'm not sure if it is staffing, but this is one of the worst CVSs I've ever been to. They need more people and different people. Replace the pharmacy team entirely. read more

Most pharmacists at this location are curt, treat customers like they are a nuisance, and are dismissive. This is almost certainly a result of intentional and irresponsible understaffing. If you call the pharmacy, expect to spend an average of an hour on hold to talk to a pharmacist, that is, if the automated phone system doesn't confuse you and then hang up on you. They are constantly overwhelmed and can take hours to fill prescriptions even during non-rush hours when other pharmacies can have a prescription done in 15-30 minutes. I doubt they could get away with this if certain insurance companies didn't force all or whole tiers of medications to be filled by CVS. Cronic understaffing and overworking employees is not only bad for employees and customers, it is a frequently identified root cause for medical mistakes. I've been getting my prescriptions from this store for nearly 4 years now, but it seems like their pharmacy service is horrible. My last two visits have been terrible. My first visit, I had gone to my nurse practitioner at 4PM to get my coughing madness checked. AT 4:45PM, my practitioner had sent the prescriptions to the pharmacy. I called the pharmacy around 5PM and the pharmacist had informed me they would be ready for pick up within an hour. I made my errands and given the pharmacy at least 3 hours. Upon arriving at 8PM, my prescription was not done. At this point, I needed my prescription bc it was getting harder for me to breathe from this cough attack. I watched the pharamacists (there were at least 3 that I was aware of) walk around in no rush to get their jobs done. After 20 min of waiting, I finally get my prescription and complained that this request had been made at 4:45pm and was told it should have been ready for pick up within an hour. Then I walked away. My most recent visit, SAME THING happened. I had hives that were uncontrollable and needed the right prescriptions to calm them down. The nurse practitioner sent the request at 4:30PM, the pharmacist said it would be done in an hour. I get there at 830PM, and sure enough the prescription was nowhere to be found... I saw the pharmacist JUST gathering my pills. At 8:50PM, I was out of there. I'm usually lenient and can understand the essence of being meticulous at your job, but the fact that I gave the pharmacy 3 hours to prepare my prescription and come into the store to find out that they have not even attended to the request frustrates me to say the least. Edit 2017: this pharmacy has gotten so much better. The pharmacy people are super nice now and wait times are not long at all. It is nice to see that things have improved. Edit to review 8/1/15: the service seems to have gotten better. I was kind of forced to keep going here just because I had some scripts that were on automatic refill here and it made sense to keep getting them here instead of the hassle of switching. Original review: The pharmacy is the absolute worst. There is always an issue with getting my prescriptions filled. It's either the prescription is somehow lost (when given to them or faxed over from a doctor) or prescriptions that had refills are now somehow without a refill. The wait times are horribly long, and there is always an air of confusion and chaos there. A bunch of people running around and everyone seems unhappy. I once had my doctor call and tell me he had never talked to a pharmacist as rude as the one at this CVS. Anyone who goes to a doctor should know there is a HUGE problem when your doctor personally calls the pharmacy and then calls you to tell you how rude they are. That was my final straw there. I also called corporate and no one ever called me back. Now I go to a different pharmacy inside a grocery store and I NEVER have a problem. This place is just awful. Avoid and all costs. read more

Where do I start. Refused to talk to my doctor when he called in scripts so we went in blind. They did not have the main pain meds for a person out of surgery and lost the original script so we could not go elsewhere. This is inhuman. This is by far the worst pharmacy that I have ever visited. I have experienced two seperate situations that call to attention the staff's incompetency and lack of professionalism. First, my prescription was lost two months ago after I dropped it off at the pharmacy to be filled. When I went to pick my medicine up the next day the employees including the supervisor named Ladyan accused me of never dropping the prescription off to begin with. After debating with Ladyan for 15 minutes about whether or not I had forgotten to drop off my prescription she ordered a pharmacy assistant to look through a stack of filled prescriptions and low and behold, my unfilled prescription was at the bottom of the stack. There was no apology from Ladyan for the pharmacy's mistake, just tacky sarcasm disguised as friendly banter. Most recently, I received a prescription for 60 pills that only contained 30 pills in the bottle. The pills were given to me in a sealed bottle from the pharmaceutical company. Again Ladyan proceeded to debate with me about the strength of my memory and this time accused me of stealing pills. Once she finished assassinating my character in front of her staff and other customers, Ladyan ultimately told me that it was not her responsibility to report and track down the missing pills because the bottle was sealed when given to me, so her people were not responsible for the pill count. In a very apathetic tone, I was told to locate the manufacturer myself and take it up with them. Meanwhile, my prescription is 30 pills short. This is medicine for my health, not a bag of skittles at the front counter. Having experienced this level of incompetency and disrespect from the staff at this pharmacy, I will not return there again. My advice to you is that you count your medicine before you leave the counter and be aware of who you drop your prescription off to OR don't bother doing business with this pharmacy if you can avoid it. Eventually, there will be a mistake, or two, or three made that nobody behind the counter, including Ladyan, the supervisor, will take responsibility for. read more

Freddy, who claims to be the assistant manager, is rude and had no problem stealing money from his customers and then blaming the computer system. People like this man have no business working with the public. Tonight, I witnessed Freddy berate and yell at a customer until she was in tears. When I finally stepped in to defend this woman and I got his abuse as well. He thought it was perfectly acceptable to give the woman back less money then she paid because CVS's register printed an illegible receipt. Instead of trying to read the receipt and get this woman back the proper amount, he kept making excuses and telling her there was nothing he could do. Came here to try the curb side pick up feature. It was really nice and easy. Pick out what u need and purchase it via the cvs app and then go pick up whenever convenient for u! You're instructed to park and text them and keep your hazard lights on so they can find you. After that they scan your phone. That's when your credit card will be charged. DO NOT GO TO THIS PHARMACY. I have never experienced such inept pharmacists, and left an establishment this upset on multiple occasions. I have been trying to get my prescription for over a month. They continue to call me and say they will fax my doctor, but have no records or recollection of the conversations I have had with them-- so I have the same conversation with different people countless times, and have physically drove in a dozen times (per text communications) for no reason. Example of the craziness: I got a text saying my insurance needs to be updated and to call them- I call them- pharmacist says they can't take my card over the phone so I have to come in- I come in- for the next SIX WEEKS I continue to get text messages that my insurance card needs to be updated and my phantom prescription is ready for pick up (it isn't). I have only lived in this area for a month, and have been going in circles with them since, I am switching pharmacies ASAP. THEY ARE TERRIBLE. I assume I don't have to mention the attitude or the wait times either since others have made those issues clear. Side note for fun: Today I heard them all loudly complaining about a customer who is always yelling at them and all I could think is "Yes he's probably yelling at you out of severe frustration that's entirely your fault". Last night I dropped off a Rx and was told to come back in 1 hour. @7:50. I Stayed close to the area and got back to the drive through window at 8:50pm. There was a line of cars in front of me and I waited patiently. As I drove up to the window the girl turns on the recording that they were closed and she proceeds to close the metal gate to the window. I blow and she says "sorry we are closed", I tell her I was told to come back in one hour and that I was waiting to be serviced but the girl says "sorry our computers are shut down". If I had known that, I would've went inside or to the closest 24hr pharmacy location. Bad service like this is unacceptable---especially when it comes to filling a needed Rx. read more

As I stand here at CVS pharmacy burtonsville, now waiting to pick up my prescription, which was called in 4 days ago, I get to witness first hand the level of incompetence, as well as laziness of staff at this CVS location. I have spoken with probably every pharmacy employee and remain amazed by their inability to quickly resolve problems or get a prescription filled for which I am paying cash. Came into this CVS to get some items with my coupons, waited in the long line, and then after being rung up the woman tells me my items are on sale. When I explained that there was no sign up indicating that she said that they took them down and wouldn't honor the price and my coupons. Never again will I come to this one! As a medical professional my experiences at this CVS and MANY others in the region have been nothing short of ABYSMAL! I get tests telling me my Rx is ready and then go there only to be told it was reshelved ( after only 2 days). I ask when to return and I'm told an hour so I wait and go back in 3-5 hours and it's still not ready. My wife called in her Rx and received a test yesterday it was ready ( there were 2 perscriptions) one was ready and one ant'. I was told to come back. I was THE ONLY PERSON THERE, there was 1 pharmacist and one tech. I told them I am no longer going to use you since this happens EVERY EOINGEL TIME I'VE BEEN thER IN THE PAST 18 months.As a DVM I write Rx for my patients and without fail they screw it up. I have switched pharmacies to a local group and will never go back, also I sent an e-mail to all of my patients telling them I will not approve an Rx at AT CVS again. read more

What a joke of an establishment.... I can deal with the consistency of late Rx prescription fills and the unorganized methods of their pharmacy department because at least I know and can just plan for that to always happen. However what I can not stand for is rude customer service. I was trying to get a passport picture taken and I went to the print center kiosk to see if I could print one, the kiosk prompted me to print a photo from my phone. I did not have any passport ready photos on my phone so I thought I would just take one then and there. I pulled down the white background screen that was in the print center that seemed to be for public use and had my friend take a photo. Almost immediately a old man who worked there came up and said " you can't do that here". I said " I'm taking a picture for my passport". He only repeated " you can't take that here". I continued " but I'm printing it here in your store". He came up to me and pulled the white background screen back to its closed position and walked away saying " we have to do that for you". I'm sorry but I get NOW that a cvs employee has to take my photo in order for me to print it but man, there were 50 other ways for him to say that to me then that. I walked right out of that store and I will never return. As I walked out of the store several other customers came up to see if I was ok and to assure me that, in fact, that cashier was being rude. There is another cvs on powder mill rd, or just go to giant across the street just so that you can avoid this store! read more

They have 6 people working in the pharmacy, and they still can't fill 3 out of 4 prescriptions. I have nothing better to do than stand here and count what's going on.
