CVS at the Crossroads in Carmel, CA is my local drugstore. The service and staff are incredible. They were very helpful and knowledgeable. The pharmacy is especially fantastic. The pharmacists who give the shots do it better then any doctors office I have ever been to. The pharmacy staff never hesitates to inform you if there is a less expensive substitute. I also want to add that Jesse the store manager is cool, calm and collected and never seems stressed. 5 stars are not enough stars to rate this drugsstore. I would highly recommend them. read more

I assist a Dr & our patient said she'd requested a refill twice through her CVS account online, however we'd not received the refill request. I called & spoke w/ a man in the pharmacy & kindly asked why they don't see that the patient requested a refill twice; he replied "Our staff is competent if that's what you're asking" & was otherwise no help to figure out the issue. As I was replying to him to explain things, he rudely decided to interrupt me & talk over me. I would not recommend this pharmacy & really hope I won't ever need to call them again. read more

For 3 years I've been receiving the worst CVS Pharmacy services I can imagine. This Carmel by The Sea, CVS knows they have a monopoly on the people that live here and do not care about the quality of customer service or should I say a complete lack there of. Stay Away as this is, hands down the worst CVS Pharmacy the planet. No human person is checking anyone out anymore, just self checkout machines to use yourself. Today, I was finally pushed over the edge and snapped. I attempted to buy Advil PM from the self checkout machine because there's one person that works there and no one else in sight, then the machines error's out and says, Alert! Age Verification Required, while I stand there with a blinking light above my head and everybody looks at me, the idiot, because all I could do was stand there and look around for someone to help. Or, do I just leave all my stuff and go looking for someone. Finally the manger hand to come unlock the machine so I could make my $52.00 Purchase for 2 bags of EpsonSalt, 1 Small Bottle of Advil PM, I pack of non-stick gauze. Yeah the prices are through the roof. I'm done with that place and switching to a small Mom and Pop Pharmacy located in Pacific Grove, CA right up the road 15 minutes away that actually real people working there that are nice and smile and say Hello, how can help you today? I went to pick up some medication that we had get from behind the pharmacy counter. The young lady that was helping us was kind. As I was checking out the Pharmacist came over to the young lady and started laying into her about a phone call that he had just received. I was still standing there waiting for my receipt. I felt so embarrassed for the young lady. I had to interrupt so that I could get my receipt. A manger should never belittle an employee like this pharmacist did in front of customers or other staff members. read more

I received a text notification that a much needed prescription was ready for pick-up at 7:00pm. I arrived to pick it up at 7:50, only to find out that cash is not an acceptable payment option!?!? "WE have already counted the drawer, sorry." To me, this is not only inconsiderate but should have other and more serious ramifications. We ARE talking about medicine. I was told I could come back tomorrow. If I could give zero stars, I would. I am in a CAM boot and in crutches, so I had to call in a friend favor and organize a ride in the first place. They are always extremely helpful and add on discounts, when available, for my medication. They also do a good job at dealing with all the entitled old people that live in the area. No wonder it has a 2 star review. I went there to pick up my medication because I was told over the phone it was ready. I went there, waited in line, and they said they don't have it. The tech talked to the pharmacist, and I was told they will call my name when it's ready. They never did. I only found out cause I got a text. I have such a soft spot for drugstores, sundries, etc. We happened to be here at the Crossroads place and figured I'd pop in for eyeshadow, of all things. I've always found they have a better selection of things and more variety than their competitors. I don't understand why am the closures of CVS. But this location fit the bill--I bought a Revlon tattoo shadow; the service is about what you'd expect. The store I found to be unusually large and was forced to walk through more of a warehouse feel, but CVS is one of those places that has pretty much everything, e.g. though I didn't intend to buy them, I also walked out with eye drops and band aids! read more

I had a terrible experience today at this CVS Pharmacy. It's not the first time, but it was the worst time... They seem to be horribly understaffed. I spent my entire 30 minute lunch break in line (ENTIRE!) to finally be helped and the prescriptions that were supposed to be ready yesterday were not ready. I was picking up blood pressure meds for a friend. These are necessary medications!! When I asked why they were not ready I was told that other people "request to be bumped up on the list, causing others to be delayed." I'm Sorry? That's not how it works!! The lines for prescription pick up have gotten progressively worse over the past few months to where it's now a 25 minute wait minimum. It doesn't seem to matter what time of day - the lines are 10-15 people deep. There are plenty of other good pharmacies in the area. CVS has lost our business. read more

We couldn't be more pleased with the staff at this Carmel CVS. The pharmacists are great. They always take time to explain the medication and make sure there is no conflict with other meds. If there is ever any kind of issue, which has been rare in the 20 plus years we've been going there, they take care of it immediately. My husband's meds and insurance can be a challenge. The building is nice, the location is convenient. But... The staff is awful. They are rude and unhelpful. They seem annoyed if you ask a question or if you aren't fast enough. The pharmacists have given me the wrong prescription of some one born 30 years earlier than me. They're sloppy and don't pay attention to detail. When I realized the mistake, they then refused to give me the right prescription, saying I had already refilled it even when I tried to explain that I did not. They refused to take goodrx discounts or even call the number supplied by goodrx which is supposed to work it out with the pharmacist. There are maybe 2 friendly pharmacists, and I wish I could remember their names to give them props here, but the only thing that stands out for me with this pharmacy is my bad experiences. read more

This is the worst pharmacy I've ever used. As others are said, the lines are always ridiculously long and the staff does not care. It takes forever and a day to get a prescription filled. Sometimes they text and say it's refilled, other times they don't. Sometimes I get a text that a prescription is filled and I don't even have a prescription. But the absolute worst was this week. My prescription was called in to them in the morning. I waited until after work to come by because I figured 8 HOURS would give them enough time. After waiting in line I was told it wasn't ready and when I asked when it would be ready, the lady behind the counter (bright blue eyeshadow) said "I don't know" and didn't move to ask or anything. So I turned around and walked out. I came back the next day and was told it still wasn't ready and when I told her it had now been 36 hours the woman said "yeah, we are running two to three days behind right now". On filling medicine?!? WTH people. I finally got my meds 45 minutes later and when I went to speak to the store manager and explained the problem to her, she was sympathetic but said "yeah, we know it's a problem." Despite the ridiculously long line at the pharmacy, I was able to drop off and pick up within 30 minutes. The folks at the pharmacy were super nice and answered all my questions. Did not find some of the products I needed, but that is a given at most CVS stores (I miss Longs a lot). read more

I have never been treated with such utter disrespect I live in Florida and called my doctor and had her call in my asthma inhaler she called it in they refused to give it to me because the instructions she said was three times a day and they wanted it to say two times a day on top of that they did not apply the coupons that I usually get in Florida that reduces the cost of my inhaler down to $25 I ended up they were charging me $180 when I went inside to get it after I was through the drive-through for over an hour to see if they could apply a coupon they played around with me they embarrassed me kept me waiting I had an asthma attack because my asthma comes in more for emotional they could care less and they refused to give me my inhaler because they said that I asked them to give it to me too many times they had it there they deliberately delayed it because they did not want to give it to me because I told them it was ridiculous what they were doing this is the most horrendous place it was filthy it was dirty and the people that work there have no Humanity whatsoever they should not be working there a man by the name of Hanley was the one that took care of me and the pharmacist name was Lynn they should both be fired their working with people that are real that are sick that need their medicine shame on them read more

The cashier acted like I was crazy when I asked if they mailed out disposable cameras to be developed. She called her manager who also told me no they do not develop film cameras. The CVS website states, "CVS Photo makes processing film simple. No matter what type of film requires developing, you can bring it to your local CVS Photo location for processing. Services include processing for 35mm film, disposable cameras, Advanced Photo System film, black and white film, 110 film and slide film. In addition, you can have photos produced from old negatives that you've saved over the years. Disposable camera and 35mm film prints are available in as little as 7 to 10 days. Check your receipts! This place is vile. I just realized the pattern that they have overcharged me the last three times I've been there, and I'm starting to think that it's not a mistake. Ok, one time was my fault. "Two for $5" doesn't always mean one for $2.50- I should have checked, though I'm pretty sure the sign didn't say this. Another time "not all of the cards in the sale area are on sale". (Umm, $15 for two ugly cards? What??) But today takes the cake. I usually don't pay attention to the checkout process, since my three year old requires constant attention. But a transaction that I expected to be a few bucks was $15. What? So I asked the checkout cashier. "No, the price is xx" she tells me. So on the way out I double check, and sure enough, I'm right. So I speak with another cashier, a lovely older lady, who realizes that all the signs are wrong. So she tells the first person, who I now realize is a manager. And the manager SHAMES me for asking for a refund! And I'm pretty sure she realized she was wrong when she charged me full price for something that was on sale. She was busy and didn't want to be bothered. So now I wonder about all of the other transactions where I wasn't paying attention, since in the few that I was, I was overcharged every time. It's hard to understand the low Yelp ratings. This is the CVS we use for the majority of our pharmaceutical needs. My experiences with the pharmacy have been nothing but positive. Marcia at the counter is a one of a kind gem. She told me she won't retire because she cares so much about 'her' customers. I am happy to be one of her customers. Every time I need a prescription filled it is done in a timely manner. As for the rest of the store it is clean and well lit. I consider the store a pharmacy and never bother with shopping there for anything other than medical supplies or meds. read more

Uhh.. what can I say. This establishment is something. I've been living in the Peninsula for over 20 plus years and have never felt so racially profiled on my life. Me and my buddy came back from a hike in Big Sur and decided to pick up some beer before our isolation. Cashier asked for my ID. Cool. No issue there. Until..... he decided to want to double, triple, quadruple check it. Yes, sir. It's real. When I asked if there was an issue he just shrugged and looked at me like I was robbing the place. Anyways..... once he finally decided to run my ID. He did no such thing instead asked me my birth year. I had to repeat it a good three times before he finally got it. Huh.... okay detective you just spent a solid 5-8 minutes looking at my ID. Even brought out your glasses and looked at it like you found the treasure of Narnia. Obviously, good sir. It has my birth year... why you asking me? Then proceed to tell me it's the wrong date. Actually, no... you my good sir. Pretended to not hear me or what have you when I clearly told you 3 times. Even my friend was perplexed. So yeah. If you aren't of a certain ethnicity or color. Don't come here. Pretty damn pathetic seeing the times we are in to get this sort of issues. Also, not like I was buying 10 rolls of toilet paper but beer.... god good. This was roughly around 6:30ish. If management cares to know. Oh well. Will just be going across the shopping to safeway. I moved to Monterey because of my wife's job, and I have a number of medications that I take, including a specific formulation of insulin. Having recently transitioned to her insurance, and transferred the medication from one CVS in LA to this site, problems have been occurring left and right. Most recently with the insulin, Humulin N. I had one refill left, but was told by some pharm tech that was not correct when staring at the packaging where it said "refills:1" lead to some enormous insurance shit show where, instead of calling the insurance company, they faxed something. Anyone with a lick of sense would know that insulin is used for controlling type 1 and type 2 diabetes, so when I found out that brain trust thought they didn't have a doctor's authorization which they will find out tomorrow or the day after, I had the doctor forward a reauthorization. They were completely unaware, and I tried to explain the situation only to be chewed out by some ignorant POS pharmacy tech, a new one, about how I was pestering the pharmacist for the fourth time (I spoke to the pharmacist twice, one when the initial pharm tech didn't know what was going on, on and once to follow up later with the insurance situation, being told it will be several days as paper work has to be done after they get a response, and that they don't know what that response is. By having had my wife call the insurance company and check that my formulation is OK, and their response that they simply needed a physician to authorize it, which it had, there should be no problem. Now why CVS has to incorporate morons to chide and be derisive in a low grade health crisis due to a misprinted label that they put on the medication, and which was rectified, and persists only because they are too lazy to check their computers is beyond me. Hell, even the complaint line was useless, taking objection to minor harsh language as opposed to seeing that a pharmacy was making a god-awful mess of a necessary drug. This whole chain if totally useless and may deprive you of a potentially life-saving medication while they act bitchy and do paperwork, rather than solve the problem expediently. read more

If I could give this pharmacy a negative star I would. The store itself is okay and the pharmacist use to be helpful and caring; and I have been using this pharmacy for over 20 years. However, the new pharmacist is rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. Instead of helping me figure out how to proceed with the problem at hand, she complained about the old pharmacist saying what he did was illegal and then proceeded to tell me my doctor's office is unresponsive. Also she stated that "someone needs to manage your mom's medicines, I can't go through 600 patients and keep track", I never asked her to do that so?? Long review to say, take your business somewhere else.
