Easy peasy COVID vaccinations. CVS has opened up COVID booster shots for anyone as long as it has been at least 6 months since fully vaccinated. Their online scheduling system is super easy and will provide you with a list of nearby pharmacies, which booster (Moderna or Pfizer) is available, and available time slots. The online scheduling system allows you to select up to two vaccinations including COVID, Shingrix, flu, pneumonia, etc. You may not want to schedule more than one but you still have the option. I was able to get an appointment on the weekend and had almost no wait. Everyone I saw in the store, every customer and employee, was wearing a mask. Rock on, CVS! read more

I have had the worst experience with this pharmacy and would not recommend. My doctor sent in a prescription for me and I got a call saying the pharmacy was calling the doctor for clarification. When I pressed the button to speak with someone, I was kept on hold for 15 minutes before them saying the doctor prescribed a different medication than I had been taking. I then called my doctor to ask what was prescribed and it turns out the pharmacy was just trying to fill with the generic form of the medication but didn't understand that enough to tell me about it. Once I called the pharmacy back again to tell them to go ahead and fill it as I was desperate, I was put on hold for another 15 minutes and we arranged it so I would have a month's supply filled. This morning I got a call from the pharmacy saying they had to call my doctor back again about the prescription and I wasn't given the option to speak to someone. Once again, I got another call this afternoon. I was put on hold again and once the call was picked up, he took my information and put me on hold before telling me the same issue about the supply of medication that I worked out with the lady the evening before. Without warning he put me on hold for another 5 minutes before the pharmacist answered the phone call. She did not ask me for any information so I began to tell her the issue but was VERY rudely interrupted by her asking for my birthday despite the fact that she hadn't asked for it before. She would not let me continue to tell her what happened but explained the situation with the rudest tone as if I was the problem. I tried to explain the fact that I was being asked the same question multiple times and had received multiple phone calls and was trying to make sure my medication was being filled as I needed it very badly. She just kept saying that it was being filled and not paying attention to my concerns. I plan on transferring my medications to another location as soon as I pick up this medication. I'm not usually the one to write a review, but this pharmacy (Tryon rd location) regarding 2 of its employees/pharmacists have been nothing but rude and unprofessional. I'm a new member of UHC and was hopeful that CVS would be a good pharmacy, but that has not been my experience. Firstly, every time I've called, it was near impossible to get anyone to pick up the phone. Last time, I waited half an hour for this: "Hi thank you for calling CVS pharmacy how can I help you" -"Hi, I came in earlier this morning. I was wonderi--" *CLICK. For multiple reasons, I don't think we were disconnected. About a week later, I called again to relay important info regarding a prescription that had already been filled at my old pharmacy and how to transfer it over, but the lady interrupted me asking for name and birth and immediately putting me on hold after I gave the information she requested. When back on the phone, the info I was trying to relay originally to no surprise came back up and she said "well you didn't tell me that part" in a very rude tone to which I replied "I was trying to before you put me on hold." And she said "ok." Again, the tone was exceptionally cringey. The pharmacists I've experienced in the past all have shown the utmost professionalism and kindness. But Tryon rd 100% changed that. I will definitely be switching pharmacies. Fingers crossed the next location will be better. read more

My husband and I came to this location after we had a bad experience at the Kildair Farm location. We were looking to return an item after the other location had used our coupons without our consent. Kanas had helped explain to us that they had made a mistake. Mary (manager) came up to the front to assist and she offered to do a refund due to the inconvenience - even when the other place used our 40% coupon. This pharmacy is worthless. Their drive-thru is always jammed up; their help is usually clueless because they're always new - apparently, they can't keep workers. I struggle with them every single month when my meds are due. It is literally a crapshoot whether they will be available. I've been with them for several years now, but that's coming to a close. The photo center is terrible. I had a simple order of 7 photos with doubles, so 14 total. When I went through them at home, 3 were missing. And several had weird coloration - darker than it's double, or a mid-day sky looking like dusk. They were very helpful on the phone and re-printed the whole order for free, but some of the news ones still have weird coloration. Not coming back! read more

Called the pharmacist in the early morning to check to see if perception was in stock, was told yes. This cvs was one of two who had the medication in store. So I took time from work to drive and pick it up. Got to the window and was told to come back in 2 hrs it would be ready. Once I got back after killing time I was told they didn't have the patch in stock. Wow, this is playing with someone's life and medications. When trying to talk to the pharmacist he seemed mad and frustrated with the fact that I was upset due to the circumstances. I never use cvs but goodrx has a good price on medications. Needless to say, I'll never be using them again, I'd rather pay full out of pocket price then to go through this situation again. Poor customer service and even worse lack of communication. I received the worst experience at the pharmacy drive thru window this morning with your assistant pharmacy tech named Shannen! I pulled up to the window and got looked at by what I am assuming is your pharmacy manager and then she turns her back to me. I waited a few more minutes and realized they were going to ignore me or make me wait. So I rang the call button and got a response fro Shannen moments later. Shannen did not greet me. I was expecting to have to pay but my insurance made st have covered it. I wasn't asked if I have any questions about my sons medication or anything. She didn't even say good bye, have a nice day, nothing. She simply put his prescriptions in the door and walked away. That was the rudest person I've ever experienced. I am currently transferring my scripts to Walgreens as I write this. This location has horrible pharmacy reviews and I now see why! So disappointed! read more

The pharmacist at CVS 5859 Tryon Road, Cary, NC 27511 should have his license revoked. He is unprofessional, ignorant and fills old prescriptions and sells it to you instead of paying attention and filling the newest prescription the doctor sent in. When you go back and make them aware of it they blame you for not checking before leaving on the first visit. They offer you a gift card instead of giving you their money back. The company may be on hard times and trying to hold on to all the cash they can. Take your business and hard earned dollars to a pharmacy that appreciates you as a customer. This company stole $50 of my money by not refunding me my money for a prescription that should have been canceled and taken out the system because of my new prescription had replaced it. I have used CVS for years but since moving here a year ago I've had nothing but problems with this location. You'll get a different answer from every single employee regarding medication. It takes WEEKS to get medication in that needs to be ordered and they constantly fill medications that they've repeatedly been told were discontinued. They fail to get refills from doctors and I always end up having to call my doctor myself and explain that this pharmacy is incompetent. They have messed up orders on my grandpa's heart medications repeatedly and constantly screw up ordering pain medication that can not be stopped suddenly. Save yourself the time and stress and use a different pharmacy!!! read more

Very disorganized, and I am 99.9999% sure that they miscounted a prescription, but they insist they didn't. I am sure they will never admit to that without opening themselves up to liability. Anyhow, when I went to fill my RX, they said it would be an hour and a half (which is much slower than other pharmacies I have used). I came back almost 2 hours later, and it still wasn't ready. I looked behind the counter, and the prescriptions were in such disarray- the pharmacist literally threw the prescription he was just working on to the technician because he had so much work to do. No wonder they made a mistake. I will be fine- the medication I am taking is not addictive, nor is it something I absolutely have to have- but steer clear of this pharmacy! read more

Don't bother trying to get your prescriptions here. They always failed to autofill mine. And just recently, they switched my wife's birth control and told her it was the only free one under our insurance. Except her old one WAS still available when she switched to another CVS store. Whether they didn't want to be bothered with the trouble of ordering it or there was a kickback involved, who knows. They lied to her. And her hormone levels were out of whack for months. A typical CVS as far as selection, layout and services are concerned. I usually visit the pharmacy here and had never has any problems with the service, though like any pharmacy, they can be busy at times. Rather than waiting in the store, I will usually drop off a prescription and ask for it to be filled in 45 mins, head over to the Starbucks at Crossroads and swing back by. There has never been an instance where they weren't ready when I returned. read more

If I could give this CVS location 0 stars, I would. The pharmacy staff is very unhelpful and acts like you are bothering them to pick up your prescriptions. Despite their calling you to let you know your prescription is ready, it always takes significant time for them to process your prescription when you go to pick it up. After two unreasonably long waits and rude pharmacy staff, I will not be returning to this CVS and transferring all of my prescriptions to another (non-CVS) pharmacy. read more

I had a really unpleasant and frankly unacceptable experience with one of the pharmacy techs on 10/25/2018 mid-afternoon. He did not wear a nametag so I don't know his name but he was a young man with strawberry blond hair. When he greeted me, I apologized and said, "I am hard of hearing, so if I ask you to repeat yourself it's not because I'm being difficult it's because I really am hard of hearing." He smirked and said, "can you hear me now?" Like the old Verizon commercial. I thought maybe I misunderstood and asked him to repeat himself. He said, "nevermind," as if the "joke" was lost on me. It wasn't - not only was it not funny; it was incredibly insensitive to my condition. I handed him my driver's license and the wrong insurance card. So, he prints off my prescriptions and then asks me what insurance I had. I said, "I have Caremark," and he pointed to the wrong insurance card and underlines Caremark on the print-off and then looks at me as if I was stupid. I pulled out the correct card and he snapped, "I don't need it! It's already in our system!" I understand that certain customers can be frustrating - but - when a customer admits up front that they are hard of hearing it is NEVER appropriate to joke about NOR is it ever appropriate to give them a hard time because of it. I sincerely hope that the manager at this location addresses this with this pharmacy tech so that other customers are not subjected to this kind of behavior. I will NOT be returning to this store. read more
