really not the best CVS in terms of pharmacy... which is the main point of the CVS. No complains about the store aspect, however the pharmacy does not answer the phone and does not fill prescriptions on time. It's almost like they wait until you come in to get the prescription before they even look at it. I typically call prior while waiting on hold from anywhere to 20-30 minutes to tell them to fill it so I don't have to wait in the store. Seriously considering switching pharmacies. read more

The senior executive responsible for the CVS location in Cohasset seems incapable of grasping the seriousness of the pharmacy situation. The staff there is overworked ad stressed beyond comprehension. The store no longer answers the phone for any reason. There was a time when this was well run and well-staffed. For the last several years things have become a mess, yet the senior executive seems to pretend that everything is okay. Frankly, I hope someone sues CVS for professional malpractice. After going to Walgreens for years and finally making the change over to CVS I can't see why I waited so long. Better pharmacy hours, nicer staff and they seem to have lower prescription cost overall. So far so good. Great savings with extracare card as well. read more

Went to cvs today and found the customer service to be impeccable. I was looking for some medication for my athlete foot. I was kinda embarrassed to ask for help, but a wonderful service representative came to my rescue and showed me exactly where to get what I wanted. The staff member, Abby, if my memory serves me well, not only helped me locate the product, her extensive knowledge about this medication helped my make an educated decision on which brand to buy. She is a wonderful leader both in the store and on the field. She mentioned she was captain of the hingham high softball team! No wonder- she shows such initiative. I am one happy customer read more

The CVS pharmacy in Cohasset is the worst pharmacy I have ever been to and Ive lived in different states. BEFORE Covid this store was a nightmare - so they can't blame it on that - long lines at pharmacy, unfilled prescriptions, very discourteous staff behind pharmacy , huge turnover of personnel including front of the house and pharmacy. Years ago -someone, or several people in the pharmacy were stealing 2 or 3 or three of my pills out of my bottle for three months in a row.( from an anti anxiety prescription I have. )I reported it to corporate and mysteriously, the pharmacy staff totally turned over within a matter of a couple of mounts - Hmmm - they obviously received similar complaints or management would not have removed them. They never answer the phone at all now. There are usually one or two people at most at the front of the store and about three , at most, in the pharmacy.- its horrendous _ I did complain to corporate about 5 years ago - never heard back. they could care less as long as the top brass keep getting their 6 and 7 figure salaries at their customers expense. They have no ethics scruples, conscience - its the almighty buck that matters, nothing else. Its truly despicable they way they treat their customers, I went there for many years and got so angry and fed up I switched all of my 8 prescriptions to Scituate Pharmacy about 2 years ago. They are wonderful, helpful and attentive - the way a good pharmacy should be . I can't wait until there are set prices for big pharma, insurance companies, doctors offices etc, so they will be forced to adhere to the new government regs regarding lower cost drugs and strict pricing guidelines so an epi pen or an asthma inhaler, just two examples , won't cost 600 or 700 dollars. Its outrageous and inhumane! The whole biomedicalbigpharma industry, because it IS a FOR PROFIT industry, will be taken to task. Corporate greed has always reigned supreme in this country . I will never darken their door again. I requested a refill. Doctor sent it. They claimed they never received the renewal. Doctor sent it again. Again, they said they hadn't received it. The doctor is at Massachusetts General so I suspect MGH isn't at fault. I asked the doctor to send it a third time. This time CVS acknowledged receipt of the script. What did they do? They delivered it to an address I haven't lived at for 5 years. And this wasn't the first time they've done this in spite of assuring me that they had corrected all of their records. The staff is competent but they are badly over worked. Long hold time to reach a real person. They always claim the problem is someone else's fault. Just not costumer oriented. Awful! The local CVS pharmacy in Cohasset is the worst pharmacy I've ever experienced and I've had asthma and allergies since I was 10, 43 years ago...so I know pharmacies. Massachusetts pharmacies (north and south shore, New Mexico ones, Florida ones, California ones....this pharmacy has the absolute worts service. It's not just the 40 minute lines, nor the unfriendliness of the staff, nor the lack of helpfulness when we were searching for a medicine to treat Mercer virus in our elderly mother (turns out CVS in Scituate had it when we called....retrieving that information being something most other businesses would either handle via online systems or a phone call.) No the worst, after weeks of frustrating experiences, was this week while when trying to pick up a prescription that was called in by the doctor two days ago. The doctor had to call it in because we waited on hold for 20 minutes more than once and couldn't get through. When we arrived earlier today, it wasn't filled because they said insurance wouldn't cover it. We told them, "Fill it anyway.", came back hours later...still not filled. Now we have to go again tomorrow. Really, CVS? read more

I second WORST PHARMACY EVER! I am pulling my hair out with CVS Cohasset. All of our scripts were sent there after Stop & Shop closed their pharmacy, which turned out was a fabulous pharmacy. I didn't appreciate them until now. I gave CVS Coho the benefit of the doubt b/c the transfer happened during a power outage and I'm sure they were overwhelmed with all the new scripts. But it has been well over a month and they still have not gotten their act together. The app always tells me scripts are in process when I need them now. I had one in process for 2 weeks and waited on the phone for an hour before I got someone to tell me they are out of that drug. WTF. I'm on the phone again with them right now b/c again I have a script that should have refilled and it has not. I checked with my dr and she assured me I have refills for another couple of months. I have been on the phone now for 40 minutes and no one has picked up the phone. If I show up there, they are totally unhelpful. How is it that a pharmacy never picks up their phone and never has a refill ready? I was hoping to get all my scripts delivered but not sure I even want to deal with CVS anymore. I use the pharmacy to fill several of my prescriptions. All too often there is an error with the order. The pharmacy has routinely filled a very sensitive prescription with the wrong brand! They blame it on my doctor for writing the wrong prescription; however, the pharmacy called the wrong doctor to fill the particular prescription. Instead of helping me to correct this error, I was rudely told to call my Doctor and they (CVS) could not help me. This is the fourth time that I have had a problem with this prescription. It is mind boggling that they have not been able to rectify this ongoing problem. Also, it is always an adventure when I go to pickup a prescription. The line is often long. And the other customers are having the same issue(s) with their prescriptions. The process is broken, CVS needs to fix it. read more

Probably the most incompetent pharmacy on the planet. No exaggeration. Usually plan to spend 30 minutes here waiting on your prescription. Even when there is one other person in line, it still takes the pharmacist 15 minutes to find their prescription. My prescription is always in the refrigerator and I always tell them so it saves everyone time, yet they never listen to me and check the refrigerator very last. They are rude and do not care what you have to say. read more

I would echo the other negative reviews: the people are generally nice, but it can be a crisis atmosphere as the wait in lines is consistently greater than other CVS' I have been to - it is clear this pharmacy is significantly understaffed or mismanaged most of the time. Why can't this be fixed - is management not watching & measuring this? I live around the corner so proximity is great but I am seriously considering a move to Walgreens across the street. It's hard to know where to start in rating this abysmal pharmacy. If I could give a rating lower than 1 star I would. It is poorly managed and grossly understaffed. There is almost always a long line. Speed of service is glacial. I have spent twenty five minutes on hold on the telephone waiting to find out the status of my prescription and when a staff member finally comes back on I discovered that it was an issue with the staff not contacting my doctor days earlier for resolution. On many occasions I've had doctors call in prescriptions early in the morning only to find that when I went to pick up the medicine in the late afternoon that the script was still not ready. The staff are generally nice but seem harassed due to understaffing. There is a significant management problem here. Do yourself a favor-go to CVS in the Hingham Shipyard or Walgreens on Route 3A in Cohasset. read more
