One star because there's no option for a negative rating. I first began using CVS about 4 years ago at the behest of my insurance provider and this particular location is convenient to where I live. In four years I can count the number of times my prescriptions were filled without incident or delay on one hand. For years I've been promising myself I would find a different pharmacy. On my last visit to the doctor I had all my prescriptions renewed with FIVE refills each. After just THREE refills I had to have my doctor's office contact CVS and resend the original scripts over the holidays to prevent me from running out. Nothing new. Like just about every other time, I arrive after multiple texts from CVS assuring me that every one of them is ready, only to find out they aren't. I'm told the wait is 2-3 hours for the prescription I've already been notified is ready. There's absolutely nothing unusual about this. I've been overcharged hundreds of dollars, received the wrong medication and the wrong dosage over and over. The parking is completely inadequate no matter which time of day and there is always a line for the pharmacy that moves way too slow because everyone else's prescriptions are screwed up too. I have never witnessed a business actually stay in business after performing so poorly, so consistently, for so long. I have no idea how many people actually read pharmacy reviews but if you're still reading this, understand that I'm finally done with this place. And guess what? Only ONE refill listed on each of my bottles. Avoid at all costs. read more

Two weeks ago, my wife went to pick up a canvas picture which she spent so many hrs to make at CVS on Louise and Ventura Blvd in Encino around 8:20pm. Got an email confirmation that it's ready for pick up. When she got there the picture was not there nor couldn't find her order number in the system. She asked for a manager for assistance. My wife showed him the confirmation email. He went off on her and told her "the picture is not here and have to order again!!!Do you understand? " with the bad attitude in front of other customers. She came out upset and crying. I went in to see what happened. Shift manager went off on me as well and using F words. I was politely asking for explanations. He made many antisemitic remarks while looking at my yamaka and lowering his mask. I think he was on drugs or something. I don't even know how he passed his background check. He was about to hit me. I was keep going backwards and I told him I hope there is a camera here! I felt so embarrassed and publicly humiliated in front of other customers. I asked him for a corporate number. He was about to write it down but ripped the paper and told me to call 1800 shop CVS!!!! Then he called me a coward for not fighting him as I was shaking and leaving the store for being afraid for my life. I'm a health care professional and a proud orthodox Jew who lived in this neighborhood for many years. Shopped at CVS all the time and never had such horrific experience. Called customer service and talked to several people from CVS's corporate office which no action was taken so far and my complaints were ignored the fact that I was verbally abused, almost got hit if I was not going backwards, and all because I was Jewish!!!! By not following up and not taking any action, let me to believe that CVS also has the same anti-Semitic vision. This not 1920's and we don't leave in Germany! It's happening in our own neighborhood. This is really upsetting that we can't walk into to a store without feeling safe. I got a called from the store manager several days later that the photo is ready and no charge to shut me up! All of a sudden the order was magically found? Why the store manager didn't want to help us that night. So disgusting...Antisemitism has no place in the world! I will continue sharing my experience on social media, our synagogues and encourage everyone to boycott CVS and not shop at this anti-Semitic company! read more

This CVS pleasantly surprises me. The few times I've been here, the staff has been helpful and courteous. The aisles are clean. The shelves are well stocked. And the prices are fair. The store is open 24 hours but the pharmacy isn't. They even have a great one-hour photo center. It's located in a nice but very busy shopping center. read more

If you are looking for a pharmacy and grocery rolled into one place with pretty much all the basic essential stuff that you want. You go to CVS. Horrible location. Came in with up-to-date member #, ID, Group number from a major provider, and they act like it was a foreign language. They wanted me to call my provider after telling me THEY "may have to call the provider." They weren't unreasonably busy just late. I told them my provider changed but they insisted the only provider was my previous provider. They refused to call my new provider and only called my previous provider. As I'm sitting here with pneumonia they're refusing to call my new healthcare provider. Absolute worst experience I've gained. read more

I have been using this Pharmacy for almost 2 years as I like CVS Pharmacies in general and this location is the closest location to my current residence. However, with this location I have been disappointed because of the terrible service and lack of customer service skills. Today I went there to pick up my meds and They could not find the prescriptions and they asked me my name 4-5 times. Even when I showed them the text message I received from CVS to let me know the prescription was ready to be picked up , they kept asking me twice if I had been there before and if I was sure was that store and that the prescriptions could be another store!!! They just are terrible and I will start using another location or another pharmacy in the neighborhood if I can't find another CVS store nearby!!! read more

We were helped by Jasmine and I can't thank her enough. We had her scan and delete and scan and delete about three times to get the best value for the coupon that was incorrectly marked. She did it with kindness and concern for us. I would've given her a five star, but because the coupon was poorly written in that nowhere did it state there was a maximum discount, and you really had to be a lawyer to figure it out, I gave CVS a three. It seems as if the management model for CVS is the sweat factories of the 1890's or perhaps something more akin to Soviet Russia in the 1960s. The shelves are poorly stocked, the staff all seem overwhelmed, prices marked are for the premium customers (this means you hand over to them all your personal info in order to get a plastic card that tracks what you buy which in turns help them make more profit). The good news is that in Encino we still have a choice for pharmacies there are small family owned ones (Oakdale on Balboa) or Walgreens and Rite Aides both on Ventura Blvd. read more

Today I purchased a cold sore treatment among other items. I spent about $50 as I usually do there every month. After getting to my car, I opened the little box to the lip ointment- It was empty. Someone had gotten in at the other end of the box and stole it. I immediately went back into the store, not more than a minute later. WENDY, the manager, would not give me a new one. She didn't even look up my purchase history. She just said, "No, you could have stole this." I spent $11 on an empty box. They would rather have their $11 item than a $50 a month customer. STUPID. When Barnes & Noble booksellers left its retail space, CVS pharmacy moved in. It is by far the biggest and best-equipped pharmacy that I have ever seen. It carries everything from hair color to shoe polish and from light bulbs to Halloween costumes. The prices are fair. The service is very good and there are even front and back checkout counters for busy days. You can in addition to your medication, get all of your household needs at this CVS. read more

They make their poor register people chirp a loud HELLO but they never have carts. They have those stupid baskets that hurt your arm. They're always out of stuff. I have also been catching the fact that things are marked at one price (like buy 1/get 1 free) but the registers don't give the discount. I've caught it twice now. My doctor called it in on A Thursday... it's now Tuesday. Last time I used the APP and it wasn't ready hours after the time it was supposed to be. As my previous review stated, my experiences at this specific location have been less than stellar, but I have to say I went in late one night, and to my surprise was greeted, *gasp*, and the employees even engaged in conversation. Like I stated, this was at night, while my other experiences have been in the afternoon, early evenings... I've been looking for a place to make copies of some of my mother's old photos from when she was a child. I called CVS to see if thats something they can do, and the representative said, and i quote, "Yes, of course!" So I drive down to CVS and when I get there, I find that the scanner is broken. They are so unorganized and were very unapologetic. I went to CVS on havenhurst, and they were very helpful. The lady walked me through the steps of scanning and helped me through the long, tedious process. I also told her about my experience at the louise store and she gave me a 50% discount! read more

As any pharmacy it's a bit busy and occasionally seems understaffed with staff that doesn't offer solutions when you seemingly reach a dead end with issues with the insurance or doctor....but Netta takes the time to make sure you get everything done that you need and are taken care of exactly how you want to be. The line for this Rx is always crazy. That is the least of their problems. I once needed an anti nausea medication for my 10 month old because he couldn't keep anything down for days. My doc called in dissolvable tablets, the pharmacist called ME to call my doctor to have her change it to liquid. After doing what I was asked, my doctors office called me back to tell me they were having issues with the pharmacy understanding dosages. AN HOUR LATER (insert my baby throwing up during this time), I receive a call back from the Pharmacist saying they don't have the liquid in stock... someone should get fired or punched in the face! read more

Best pharmacists ever! Neda is always quick and efficient. She used to be at a different cvs and when I noticed her at this location I transferred all my prescriptions to this one. My girlfriend and I drove to 3 different CVSs that also claimed to be 24hrs from Van Nuys to Reseda and ended up at this CVS only to be told that they could not fill our prescription because they were too busy and the pharmacy closes at 8pm. This store does not follow California state laws for reruns, as well as their own online posted policy. They make up whatever reruns polices they want as they go(this isn't the only cvs that does this). The manger told me "we do not have to post any return polices" Which again is illegal. read more

I has helped by the Pharmacy Manager Neda. I cannot believe how nice she was. She helped me get me prescription super fast and when I asked her when to take it, she answered it in a understanding, sweet way. I could tell she really cared about me unlike the robots most other pharmacists are in the CVS branch and I've had many problems before but with this store, I felt welcome. There was another pharmacist by the name of Farshid (sorry if the spelling is wrong) and he was super nice. I hate to give 3 stars, but it's all pharmacy. This is the only cvs in the area that isn't completely rude, there is a lady who helped me the other day with shoulder length dark hair who was extremely nice and very helpful. Only I find myself always waiting at least 5-10 minutes to just drop off a prescription and again for pick up, it turns into an hour ordeal for meds. Picked up ophthalmic eye ointment and was consulted by the clerk...pharmacist never came out: Violation of CA Board of pharmacy law. Went to pick up oral antibiotic for my 2 to son, it was mixed by the same clerk that consulted me previously. Her name tag did not say she was a tech: Another violation of the BOP Law. Clearly the pharmacy either lacks a pharmacy manager or the pharmacist in charge should be questioned about his or her competency of pharmacy regulations. Conclusion: go somewhere else where your health and that of your family is protected. read more
