I've been trying to transfer my prescriptions from this CVS location to another CVS after moving for almost a year and they simply refuse to do it. I've requested this transfer online, in person and by phone at both CVS locations to no avail. This has never happened to me at any other pharmacy I've ever used, just CVS. I'm so sick of it I'm transferring them to a different pharmacy altogether and this CVS also refuses to release them to the new pharmacy. This doesn't even feel legal. Can CVS really hold my prescriptions hostage like that?! My flabbers are ghasted. This CVS drive through is spreading illnesses on purpose. They are letting their clearly ill patients sign with a single pen and then continue using the pen without replacing or cleaning it. I picked up my newborn's ointment yesterday through the drive through (literally the only place we've gone all week because of the weather) and today I am the only one sick. Usually my 4yr old gets sick and I'm the last one to catch it. But since I'm the only one that interacted with the person at the drive-through and used the pen, I'm the only sick one. How irresponsible is a company to not have a policy for sanitizing tools even though they're dealing with obviously sick patients post-Covid? And now my newborn is at risk because of their lack of competency and/or their willingness to purposely spread diseases. Service at this CVS is hit or miss. Some days I'll encounter a really nice staffer, such as the one who told me about the GoodRx app. I'm in-between insurances and prescriptions can obviously cost a fortune, so I was thrilled to realize how easy it was to get a discount...sometimes steep. Another time I was told that they had already used the best discount for a script, but it came out to a ton of cash, so I checked the app and saved myself $20. So if you're watching your prescription spending, definitely use the app. The pharmacy wait time itself also varies. I don't think I've ever driven or walked up and immediately received my medicine. There's usually a wait for both, so keep that in mind. It's a busy place. Oh, and once you're in the drive-thru line, you're kind of stuck because it's wedged between buildings. Don't break down there! On the plus side, the store is open 24 hours. I've taken advantage of that perk. This isn't one of the fancy locations with the randomly wide aisles. It's old school and average, but it's the closest to me (at least as of this very moment -- I move around a bunch), so I'll continue to visit while it's nearby. read more

This is the closest pharmacy to my home and it gets a very half-hearted shrug from me. It's a hot mess. The store itself is your average drugstore: makeup, healthcare products, paper goods, and some food items. The draw is the convenience factor, as the prices are well above what the exact same items cost at Target, Walmart, or even Kroger. The pharmacy itself is one of the slowest and least efficient I've ever encountered. The technicians are very nice, but they are either severely under trained or under staffed. There always is either a long wait, a problem with the prescription, or both. Some of my grievances: - Numerous times I received text alerts that my automatic refill is ready or I will put in an order for a prescription, and when I arrive the staff has no idea what I'm talking about and can't find any record in the system. - When an order actually is ready, they often misplace it and can't find the order. You'd think this was Legends of the Hidden Temple, not an organized pharmacy. - If doctor authorization is required for a refill, they assure me that they'll contact the doctor, but days later after persistent phone calls I will find out they never did. - Prescriptions are sometimes delayed, once leaving me for five days without my medication. - They have tried to refuse me prescriptions and even a flu shot because it wasn't covered by insurance, despite the fact that every single month I explain that I want to pay out of pocket because I still need the medication. read more

BIG shout out to Ray at CVS on Nuckols Rd. I was in need of some eye drops, Ray let me know that I was not due until January 19th. I was out of this and it was important for me to have a refill. As I was on hold with my provider, another call came in. It was Ray calling me back to let me know he had contacted my insurance company and was able to get me a 2week supply which would give me what I needed and when that runs out I will be able to refill with a 90 day supply. I am over 60 years old and have been in Richmond all my life. I typically have been dealing with CVS but I have never had that level of customer service. Pharmacy staff (with a couple exceptions) is clueless. They will blame issues on YOUR insurance when it turns out they were doing something wrong on their end. Store staff is no help either. Can never find anyone, and when you can they say very little, especially not a greeting. This pharmacy leaves so much to be desired. read more

I have been a customer of this Pharmacy for over a year. The teamwork and care is like no other! I have called, been in the store in the morning, late afternoon, late at night. I have experienced all different shifts of Pharmacy Personnel. Each are unique and awesome in their own way. Kudos to their Managent, that have given them the motivation and tools to take good care of their patients. Having complained and switched from another CVS Pharmacy that was, let's just sat really bad, what a difference this Pharmacy is! CVS is my drugstore of choice. I have no idea why? I guess it has something to do with the fact that there is one less than a mile away from my house and my parents go there for their prescriptions. Either way, they are a really no frills drug store with a great rewards system. Saving money for a wedding means that sometimes sacrifices must be made! For me, that means I'm buying a lot more drug store makeup these days instead of the higher end stuff that dreams are made of. I have found that this CVS in particular is a great place to buy those things. I will say, though, that you have to check and make sure that the CVS you're going to has the specific brands you're looking for. Certain brands like Milani are harder to find. It's worth checking on their website to make sure that your CVS carries it. Besides the makeup stuff, the staff here is extremely nice and helpful. I've never had to wait in a long ling or wander aimlessly for too long before being helped. Solid choice for all your drugstore needs! read more

As far as your pharmacy needs, this location the staff moves faster than some other local CVS pharmacy locations. This location is open 24 hours to serve the needs of everyone. Early morning and early evening seems to be the busiest times for this location. Therefore, I try to go at another time when I know it's not as busy. They offer a rewards program. You can setup automatic refills, call in refills, or use he website to refill prescriptions. You can also go online or use the app to upload photos to have printed. read more

It's your average CVS. I usually stop by here on my way to or from an appointment or if I called in an order to a restaurant around here and have several minutes to kill. I don't think it's ever been very crowded while I've stopped in. The service is about average: can usually find someone up front to check you out quickly. A huge thank you to the Pharmacy team and manager at this CVS. My mother was quite nervous in managing the process of administering care to my father for his diabetes. The young lady and staff at the pharmacy assisted with training for the measuring kit. They shared great concern and assistance when we called later that evening looking for a bag that my mom thought was lost. And later helped us resolve the issue of purchasing a missing component from my fathers prescription. Kudos to this store and its pharmacy staff. Five plus stars from me. read more

If I could rate this CVS location with negative stars, I would. As a long-time, multi-state CVS customer, I do not think that this location lives up to the CVS reputation. Not only have they made a mistake every single time I have filled a prescription here, but they also manage to take about 5 times longer than any pharmacy (CVS or otherwise) I have ever used. I recently moved from Boston, MA to Glen Allen, VA and I have been absolutely astounded by this particular branch's complete and utter inability to provide basic pharmacy services. They don't follow-up on ANY issues when asked and I have to call multiple times to see if a prescription has been filled after requesting it. Every call I have placed to this branch, regardless of the purpose of my call, I have been treated as a burden and an inconvenience. Word of advice, always call before you go (even if you received a confirmation call or text) because they do not know what they are doing whatsoever. read more

Verdict There are better technicians elsewhere (in other CVS and pharmacy) who could easily refill your prescription. CVS is generally more expensive than other pharmacy, on top of the poor customer service here there is absolutely no reason why any customer need to stay around. Overall experience I've been screwed many times by their technicians. As of yesterday, I've confirmed that they're either incompetent or just literally doing something totally illegal. Last/3rd incident Tuesday my doc send over two prescriptions to pick up on Wednesday (the following day). I went to pick it up yesterday and was told they did not receive any prescription. After all the previous incident I decided to call other pharmacy to see if they will accept my insurance card. When I called Target, turns out they have a CVS and they were able to confirm the two prescriptions received yesterday... So I'm gonna say that I've just experienced with this CVS is illegal. Also this CVS has the most technicians (5-6) I've ever seen at one time. Why so many technicians to distribute the work when they still can't get them done? 1st incident My doc send over a prescription for generic med that should cost me no more than $4 as I've checked in the caremark site. The technician fill my prescription with a brand med instead without my consent and it came up to $25. She keep telling me it's generic and that's how much it costs. I had to go home and look it to and take a picture to show her that it's brand and that's why it's so expensive. 2nd incident Since then I proceed to look up all my prescription ahead of time for the price and then make sure my doc write the exact same thing so I get the price that's listed on the caremark site. My doc told me CVS called to tell them there's no point in filling this prescription because I could get it over the counter and it's likely insurance wouldn't cover it either. During the 1st incident, the technician told me they cannot look ahead of time what my insurance would charge me until they fill it, so they never look into it. For a technician who doesn't look into this, how were they supposed to make a judgement call that my insurance won't cover it? Service I cannot comment on the regular CVS service, although the few times I was there to purchase things I had no problem. However, the pharmacy service is incompetent. Normally I would recommend distributing these resources to other store, but it's better to keep a group of them here so it doesn't effect other pharmacy. Settings CVS here in general is always clean. There's always car on the parking lot, but never close to being packed. The pharmacy driveway is a nice convenience and I have seen cars there quite often. Location It's located at the corner of Broad and Cox. There are always parking, you should have no problem at all stopping by anytime to pick up whatever. Price CVS is always more expensive than other pharmacy and other store. I have my reason for staying with CVS for as long as I have. However, now that I know that my insurance is accepted elsewhere, I will start looking into other options. read more

This is consistently the worst pharmacy in the area and I've given them many opportunities to change my mind. It's a drive through so I really want to like them but they have screwed my prescriptions on multiple occasions and they always blame it on the doctors office or the insurance company when it's clearly their incompetence. I only decided to write this review because after waiting 25 mins on hold for the pharmacy I drove up to this location, Instead of waiting on the phone, and noticed (while waiting in line) that nobody was picking up the phone. I have been a CVS customer (different stores throughout Virginia) for 15 years, and I have never been treated as poorly by any company than I have by the pharmacy staff in this store. Without getting into too many personal details, I will just say I STRONGLY advise you stay away from this store unless you want to be lied to, hung up on and then judged for the medication you get. I've had to take sleep medication for my insomnia for over 10 years now, and it's difficult enough for me to deal with my condition. I don't need to be treated like a drug pusher when I call it in on the 30th day (30 day supply), and I'm told it's too early, they blame the insurance company, lie to me with a new story and then I have to get my provider involved to get my medication. In the words of my doctor, "they are over-stepping in their policing." Warning- stay away. read more

I have had this RX filled here for the past 5 years with zero issue but will never go back! Took it across the road to walgreens and had it filled within 5 minutes. Seems to be every CVS pharmacy I go to has the worst customer service. Call in to a prescription filled and I am told that I can't come get it within 15-20 minutes that I will need to tell them when I get there that I am waiting on it and at that point they will fill it. Not to mention the fact that they didn't even have the medication in stock which should have been told to me before they transferred it. The minute clinic charges way too much! She initially told me my insurance would cover the meningitis shot and TB testing I needed. She was wrong and later tried to charge me for each thing. The only thing I payed for was the TB testing because she had already done it ($28). She then told me it was cost $150 for the meningitis vaccine! Then another $20 to for her to sign my immunization form. She also had to keep calling other practitioners because she didn't know how to do anything in the computer or what paperwork I needed to sign. If Roshni Patel is working, just leave. Needless to say I left with only a bump on my arm and $30 less in my bank account. read more

This CVS is UNETHICAL, poor customer service, managers (SHERRY) with major attitude. I purchased some diapers and ended up returning it the NEXT day because we didn't need it. The package was unopened and we had our receipt. Instead of refunding the money in the original form of payment, it was refunded via their stupid CVS money card. When my husband questioned why, they said because our purchase was made in a different store? BS answer - never heard of such a thing. So when he returned home and told me about it and I called them. They admitted to making a mistake and told us to come back with the money card, receipts and they would refund in the original payment. So we made a 2nd trip there (out of our inconvenience) and when we got there, the manger (SHERRY) said they couldn't do it because a refund was already made and they couldn't reverse it. She admitted it was their mistake and that "everyone makes mistakes". She then even turned it around on my husband and asked why he didn't say and that it was HIS fault too for not saying anything. Unbelievable??!!! Yes SHERRY everyone do make mistakes, but they apologize and go about fixing it instead of giving their customers attitude (when it's YOUR fault). I will make sure to report you to corporate and CVS to the BBB. This is unethical practices and goes against CVS policies. You are going against YOUR own policies. read more
