My doctor sent a last-minute allergy prescription to the Southern Highlands location, instead of Silverado Ranch. The technician who answered offered to transfer it to their location, even though it would take a bit longer than if I just went to Southern Highlands. I asked her to go ahead, and within 15 minutes, I received a text that my prescription was ready! Special thanks to Taylor, the technician who handled my call and got everything ready so quickly. Her efficiency meant I could take my medication and get to work without missing a day. That kind of service makes a real difference. I've had consistently positive experiences here, only one staff member over time seemed less enthusiastic about customer interaction, but everyone else more than makes up for it. It is a reviewing situation where the location plays a significant role in the rating. This Walgreens is located in a part of the Las Vegas valley that makes me feel more like I am in a secluded area of Utah than a big city like metropolitan Las Vegas. It is up on the hills in a picturesque area where the grand open spaces of the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area are closer than the nearest shopping center. The Albertson's-anchored shopping center is 2.3 miles (48- minute walk) and Anthem Von's-anchored shopping center is 2.3 miles (48-minutes) away. The upshot is that this Walgreen's serves as a convenience store in an area that I would consider a food desert without it. Especially for residents who have zero means to a vehicle. It features a pharmacy, photo center, and aisles of toiletries and several necessities. The Anthem Highlands Walgreens is 1.4 miles and a 26 minute walk to both the Black Mountain and Anthem East Trail trailheads. In my situation it has been the corner of "Happiness and the Great Outdoors." When I engage on a long hike I develop a worry wart when I leave my car in an isolated parking lot. Well, this Walgreens had the prescription to remedy it: the perception of a safe parking lot. When I partook in my Black Mountain hike, I left my car in the ample parking lot. The stipulation was that I supported them with a purchase. I brought my hydration beverage here. Although their beverage selection and selection in general falls short of their larger stores in places such as the Strip, I greatly appreciated being able to buy it. Yes, Walgreen's is higher priced than the average supermarket, but in reality that hydration beverage would be worth Las Vegas Strip hotel prices. Fast forward, a few weeks ago I returned here between completing the Anthem East Trail hike and hiking down Anthem Highlands to Eastern at Horizon Ridge. When I walked to the beverage cooler to refresh with a cold Power Aid it felt like walking across the desert to a mirage. If this Walgreen's was nonexistent, I would feel as dead as the Mirage Resort having to walk 48 more minutes to Von's. Speaking of dead, on my last visit, there were very few customers and employees here. I had to wait for a few minutes at the register for the one cashier to finish helping a customer with a question. She appeared to be friendly which left me with a decent impression of their customer service. In conclusion I have an appreciation for the Anthem Highlands Walgreens. It is a vital retailer servicing the Anthem Highlands and outdoor recreation communities. If it were nonexistent people would have to drive approximately 2.5 miles to the nearest retailer and pedestrians would have to walk 48 minutes. On account of this, a retailer that I would normally rate three stars in a competitive area, I have increased to rating four stars.

Most of these CVS store locations they are all pushed with the kiosk to get you to pay all by yourself. It's frees the cashier to do what they need to do. As the customer you interface with the machine. Sometimes this is great but sometimes it's not. For special items and pictures that you print these are behind the counter. This particular CVS, is a free style store. It's an older version that has not had all the updates but is still just as great. The human is the best part of the experience. When you pay, you do not interface with the machine. It's actually nice. The staff here is always great and super friendly. If you have questions they are welcome to help you solve it. The store is laid out in a clean and comfortable way. It's easy to maneuver the store and find what an individual might need, and lots of options that you did not know you needed. They make one stop shopping easy as the snap of the finger. Make sure and stop in for your needs today.

Keep in mind it's about 4:00. They close at 7:00. I wait outside. One of the mechanics comes by pushing a shopping cart. He tells me the service man will be out to help me in a little bit. I wait. 100° outside. Whatever. Guy comes back again 10-15 minutes later. Tells me to just go inside since the service tech is inside. I finally go in. The guy in the yellow vest is in there, helping some dude for 10 minutes. Can't figure out shit while, what I believe to be two supervisors/managers, out of uniform, just walked around the desk. They did not bother to help. The cashier lady didn't bother to help. She picks up one phone call and tells the person on the line that they're about to close walk-ins and then abruptly hangs up as the customer is speaking. Cool. Thought I somewhat had a chance still. There's a man waiting behind me. The old cashier lady is throwing some fit and won't let out a couple of guys through the back door even though they just got their car serviced and paid. Right beside me. I'm gonna guess that this is the same lady-- months ago, in a separate review, who gave me and my partner a hard time over the phone. It finally gets to my turn and the service tech looks at me and walks off towards the garages. I wait another 5-10 minutes for him to come back. When he does, he takes the man BEHIND me even though I'm right in front of the desk. Lovely. I apparently was just some brick wall standing there. Service guy tells the man there's no appts until Sunday. Okay. Man is pissed. I'm getting pissed too because I waited so long. 30+ minutes in a disorganized auto center!
