Yes, sure you have to wait sometimes, but it is based on 'first come-first serve' basis. They get backed up or are short on staff also. People's expectations need to be reasonable. They serve so many there, why are you any special? Because your pain is greater than mine? Not cool. My only complaint for this location is that the kids put at the register mostly are very pissed to be at work dealing with customers. Teach them to smile and be welcoming, and sometimes communicate with customers. Even a friendly "Hello" can do so much. After a hard day at work, last thing I want to see is a kid who is pissed to be alive. We all have bad days, but some of these kids are an every day mood killers.

I get my controlled substance medication through tele-health, which cannot be transferred, so I have no choice but rely on whenever they feel like answering the phone which is NEVER. I have logged several hours between yesterday and today waiting to get my medication, each time I was either disconnected or had waited too long and had to hang up to tend to other things in my life... When you call they initially connect you to a call center with a "pharmacy tech" to appease you I suppose, then you will be sent to the 7th circle of Muzak call hold for up to half an hour where you will then be disconnected. Has happened sooner in the multiple times I've called in the past couple days in the vain attempt to get my prescription refilled (again, it's tele-health so they don't get auto-filled, I have to call and go through this absolute nonsense) This is a years long pattern with no indication of changing, I will definitely be switching pharmacies. Not that they give a shit.

I am used to the Walgreens in River Forest and the CVS inside target in Oak Park (I'm from Hinsdale but was living out there for a while and just moved back to this area. It's like night and day. My meds are usually ready same day. Not the next day, after I put my order through in the morning or even 2 days later. You can actually talk to a friendly pharmacy team instead of only leaving a message and then if working miss the phone call back (Again like CVS does). Things aren't all locked behind glass. There is no monotone or bad attitude riddled staff members checking you out or at the pharmacy. This Walgreens is fantastic and has always helped me and been patient with my sometimes dumb questions simply out of reassurance since my experience with other pharmacies was so bad. People don't understand how good they have it. The staff will actually ask you if you need help if you look lost or confused about where something is. Instead of avoiding you on purpose and taking an entire 10 mins after hearing the "assistance needed" call to certain aisles. The overall rating is misleading. Whoever made it that way has to be an entitled a-holes who expect a standing ovation every time they enter the store. Check yourselves. This Walgreens is great.

My doctor also called earlier to make sure everything was set. I arrived promptly at 7:15 PM, only to be told they had nothing on hand. I patiently explained that I had spoken to someone earlier, gave my name (Lee Robinson), and asked them to check. For 30 minutes, I waited while they attempted to reach the technician I had spoken with. Understandably, mistakes happen -- but what unfolded next was unacceptable. For the next 45 minutes, I begged for help identifying any nearby location that could fill my prescription tonight. Instead of providing clear answers, the staff simply rattled off Walgreens locations without providing addresses or verifying inventory. When I asked which stores were open late, they vaguely pointed me to a few -- but again, no real help, just dismissive answers as if I was interrupting their evening. At no point did anyone -- especially the head pharmacist, Tanya -- show even basic empathy or urgency. I wasn't treated like a patient, or even a human being. I was treated like an inconvenience. Tanya repeatedly ignored my questions, avoided eye contact, and carried on with other refills while I stood there desperately trying to ensure I wouldn't miss my medication. Walgreens -- you are in healthcare. People don't come to you for fun. We come because our health depends on you doing your job. I didn't choose to have a disease that steals my sight. I didn't choose to rely on these drops to stay alive, functional, and able to see my kids grow up. But your staff made it abundantly clear that my situation wasn't important enough to warrant even minimal effort.
