I didn't realize it when I was a little kid fanboying on Sav-on and Thrifty (which we called "Thrifty's," for some reason); but Longs was another drugstore that, despite being a multi-state chain, felt like a mom-and-pop operation. This is a review of the CVS on West Whittier Boulevard in La Habra, but this CVS used to be a Longs, and despite the CVSification that it has undergone--and it's definitely not the same as it was--it has, somehow, managed to retain some of its old charms. It's on the bigger side for Southern California CVS locations. It has a large center aisle helpfully aligned with the front doors, so as you enter, everything health- and hygiene-related is to your left, and all the junk food and gifts and drinks and household items are on your right. The pharmacy is at the back (obviously). The people who work here are universally nice. I'm a frequenter of CVSes large and small, so I know a little bit about dealing with CVS employees who don't want to deal with me, and I've had bad experiences at every single store--every store except for this one. Granted, I've never used the pharmacy, so there's that. They have self checkout, but unlike almost every other CVS location with those job-killing devices, they don't try to force you to use them. This location is actually much farther than the one closest to my parents' house (that one's within a mile), but I always go out of my way to come here, because I'm so sick of dealing with the sad-sack attitudes and annoying pestering of the employees there. And I know it's not totally random and is based on what and how frequently you buy, but this CVS seems to offer the most valuable coupons on its mile-long receipts. If you come around Christmas, they have firewood right near the entrance, and you don't even have to bring it to the register; just tell one of the employees that you're taking firewood on your way out, and they'll ring it up. Plus it's really good firewood, or at least it has been every fall and winter since 2020. I'm still sad that Longs is gone--that all of them are gone--but there is some solace in the smiling faces at this Longs-turned-CVS.

How many times can I say the name of the medication and be told I cannot be helped because the system doesn't recognize the name of the drug I'm saying? Even though the system JUST SAID THE NAME OF THE DRUG?! It's so infuriating, as soon as I can, I'm transferring my prescription to the Costco down the street.

There were three pharmacists and one technician working, and I was the only customer there. The technician handed me the medication, but when I had a question about how to use it, I was told that only a pharmacist could explain it. The technician called for one of the pharmacists, but despite there being three of them, no one acknowledged us or came over to help. They continued with their own tasks while we waited. After standing there for several minutes with my baby and receiving no assistance, I became frustrated and decided to leave. Customer service was extremely poor, especially considering I was the only customer in the store at the time. I will not be returning to this location.

We walked in the store, it was busy, people browsing in the aisles and waiting to get their medications. I wasn't intending on getting a vaccine but my co-parent was there to get hers. While processing the first shot, the pharmacist asked if I wanted to join in the fun, haha. I said might as well if I was considering that it'll probably be done. This shot did pinch when it was injected and I knew it was going to give me a sore arm. Confirmed, my arm/shoulder was sore at the injection site later in the evening and also the following morning.

Will my order be processed faster than anyone else's? Doubtful. I see at least three runners working. I do like that Walmart had a bigger selection of grocery items over their competitor Target. Walmart carried jumbo sized baking potatoes in an 8 pound sack ($5.44). This isn't something that'll I'd see on the Target app. They also carried Marketside grass fed ground beef individually packed per pound ($6.26/lb) versus Costco's bulk 6 pound tray of standard 88/12 ($6/lb). It's a ten minute wait for my medium sized grocery order to be delivered to the car. Mind you, it was ready for pickup earlier in the morning at 7-8a. These young adults, at least my runner, do not know how to load groceries starting from heavy to ending with fragile items. The green onions were placed at the bottom of the bag and then crushed by heavier groceries. Thank goodness I didn't have any eggs in my order. I had to tell this guy to put the items in the bag. He was assuming in the trunk without bagging?? Come-on now, be intelligent, and put forth effort.

I receive only three correct and the other three given to me were 93/7 (the fat percentage). I received an Email saying they are refunded me for only one which doesn't make sense if it's Walmarts fault with this mistake. Also when you order on the app you can choose not to substitute specific things in which the meat was not supposed to be substituted . I had no notification saying that it was. I cook this meat for my dogs and my mom picked up my mobile order for this. So when I got home I saw the meat she was cooking for my dogs was the 93/7 percent fat I said that's not what I ordered. Well she didn't know otherwise she wouldn't have cooked it for our dogs dinner. So that's when I checked my app to see if there was something I did on my end that was wrong. Nope I ordered the correct meat 99/1 percentage and I check the app to see if I missed a notification saying they were subbing the meat for 93/7 and nope no notification for that. So as a valued customer of the mobile app for Walmart I wish your shoppers would pay attention to which items they are scanning to my order so it doesn't create an Inconvenience to your customers.
