Have come here for my meds for years and was looking at buying new medical equipment that I needed for recovery after an upcoming surgery. Picked out what I needed and sent my son to get it for me since I couldn't get it into my car. What he was given was used equipment that was sold for the cost of a new item. He said he was told all sales were final. Not amused with the switch they pulled. Not a place I plan to return to in the future. read more

This use to be my go to family pharmacies. NOT anymore!!!! My Father had a doctors appointment and it felt like he was running a fever. 1 hour before the appointment I ran to Bi-Rite to get a thermometer to check his temperature. They only had "one" infrared thermometer priced at $75.00 Great way to take advantage of customers during a pandemic. Here's the Icing on the cake....the sticker on the box says "Final sale" no returns. They jack up the price, then they screw you. Found the same thermometer on amazing for $29.99 Don't panic and make the same mistake I did. Be smart and shop somewhere else. Very Disappointed. read more

This pharmacy picks and chooses which medications they want to let you use your insurance for. if you say you accept insurance and contract with insurance companies to accept payment then you shouldnt be allowed to say "the fee is too low we cant accept your insurance for this medication" I spoke to my insurance company and they said they cannot do that. read more

The owner of the pharmacy (the older gentleman) is great and i feel bad having to write this review however if they are never made aware they will never have room for improvement. Their worker Josie is extremely rude. My husband and i get prescriptions there every month, the same day of every month my husband had brain surgery along with many more injuries and his psyc medication anxiety meds and pain meds are important for his everyday living. We called she said there was nothing there, (mind you this isn't the first time she has done this) we called again later that day she said the same thing. So i called back the next morning and spoke to another girl and she said oh yes there here we received them yesterday. This girl is unprofessional and rude. Also my husband and i have the same prescription with same dosing and quantity and she charged him 80.00 and charged me 45.00 along with that one time we picked his meds up and we dispense them into daily pill containers due to my husband brain surgery it's easier for him to remember when they are sorted by day and time he needs to take his medications and as we were dispensing them there was a random pill in there after checking it was a anti diarrhea medication (nothing we were prescribed and shorted him one of the pills he actually needs ) this lady is trouble and I'm sure more then just myself have had a issue. Also they say they open at 9 due to work and school schedules sometimes we have to go at 9 to pick up our medications and they always get mad and make us wait atleast a hour so if you call and they say it will be ready tomorrow and you show up the next day at opening they aren't prepared and have a bad attitude. We do not have prescription coverage and pay lots of money to this business every month (6 prescriptions between our family every month and pay over 500 monthly for our medications) we can go somewhere else that wants the customers and to be nice when they arrive to retrieve the medications. read more

Bi-Rite USED to be my go to pharmacy for all items other pharmacies did not carry. They always had a staff that was capable and eager to assist you with what you needed, and wanted. These days they sit behind the counter and shout out what do want? Customer service is not even given a thought. I purchased an expensive item only to find out it was unusable to me. When I went to return it a very rude women ( behind the glass and counter) said they did not accept returns. I explained that this policy was not made aware to be at the time of purchase and in the past returning an item unused in original condition with a receipt was never a problem. I let her know I have been a faithful customer for many years. She just shrugged and the men behind her looked scared and quickly busied themselves or left to the back room. In the future my business will go elsewhere. Most likely to the lovely staff in the PIH bldg. on Whittier blvd. I will drive the extra miles insure very competent and friendly service. read more

My family has used Bi-Rite for all of their prescription needs to over 55 years. We believe in supporting small businesses in the community. I recently had my orthopedic doctor's office send a pain medication (Hydrocodone with acetaminophen) to Bi-Rite due to a hip revision surgery. Before and after surgery I rented a wheel chair from them at the tune of $50. First I was asked why I had the prescription send it to their pharmacy. I told them I was staying in the area due to the surgery (my home is being remodeled & has stairs). I was then told they couldn't fill it because they had a limited supply of that particular drug and they were earmarked for their regular customers. Apparently, they do not want new business! I will NEVER buy one more thing at this pharmacy. Note to the pharmacy if they read this review. Not everyone trying to fill a prescription for a pain medication by a renowned orthopedic surgeon is a drug addict. read more

This is a great pharmacy. You don't have the bright lights and slick veneer of a chain drugstore. You also have to walk past a gauntlet of products for the aged and infirmed. What you get in return is friendly, professional and personal service. Dr. Patel is the owner/pharmacist there, and he will greet regulars with a kind greeting. This is an independent, neighborhood pharmacy at its best. If they have the meds in stock, they are FAST. If not, the order comes in the next day, but that can happen anywhere. The number of people they have working behind the counter tells you there's more to this place than meets the eye. Plus, I much prefer supporting an independent business like this than a chain or big box store, especially Walmart. read more

This was the project I was most dreading, and yet, because of Taylor, was actually the easiest thing accomplished in months. Taylor listens to your needs, knows his product and does not try to "upsell". He responds to inquiry quickly and goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy with purchases. Their prices are really fair and unlike some other sources, will put a short-term rental fee towards the purchase price if you decide to buy the equipment. And to be blunt, they are friendly at Bi-Rite. I've called around, and that's becoming more and more rare in the world of customer service. So I would encourage you, even if you don't live in the immediate area, use this resource and go see Taylor. You won't regret it. read more

Rented a wheelchair for our grandma to use for a weekend, so she wouldn't have to walk long distances while we were out celebrating a family birthday. The guy that helped us (I think his name is Taylor) was very helpful, knowledgeable, and was patient with our 96 year old grandma. We will be back again to either rent or buy a wheelchair because we were so happy with their service and equipment quality. read more
