Two weeks ago, I ordered my mom her heart attack medication. The woman told me my mom's info was on file, and they would charge me $7.99 for mailing the drug to her. No problem, she would get it in 2 days. Today, her aid called to say they never got the drug. I called the cvs pharmacy, and they told me they had no record of the order. I was in shock. The pharmacy tech told me there was nothing they could do about it now. Horrible. They never sent her life saving drug and don't even care. read more

Wow. My wife has a UTI and we came by to pick up her medication...we were told it would take 5 mins and it took 30 mins...but to make things worse, my wife had to go to the bathroom, but they locked their bathroom and didn't give their employees a key!?!?! the disbelief on my face is real. I couldn't help but get my frustration out online because I am so frustrated with their lack of understanding and willingness to help serve a customer who is suffering from a bladder infection. This is a long overdue review for a place I've been going to for years. I find this CVS quite convenient and like that it's open 24 hours and sandwiched between Peet's and Whole Foods, allowing for one stop shopping. The staff is knowledgeable and nice. I get most of my prescriptions here because they pharmacy is usually stocked and the staff in the pharmacy is helpful and generally efficient. Other CVS locations seem slightly paler in comparison. read more

Optical Center: I'm an existing pharmacy customer, but I used their optical center for the first time and was so impressed!! Clean, professional, excellent customer service. I had an eye exam and then chose eyeglasses and sunglasses for my new prescription. Dr. Liu was awesome, she explained everything in a way I could understand, without sacrificing efficiency. And the associate who handled my insurance and put in my frames orders was a pleasure to work with. And got me the best value through the insurance company. I can't believe how affordable it all was. One stop, the entire experience took an hour and a half and I left so excited about my new glasses! read more

Yes, it's newly remodeled. But that doesn't mean ours better than ever! Good luck getting the attention of the employees if you are anywhere other than the front counter of the store... Another reason why I can't give many stars to this location is the fact that there's way too much empty space in the huge drug store, which means out course that you might not find what you're looking for! I've never used the actual pharmacy in the store, but from what I've heard (although not very many people I know have had need to go here) at the pharmacy they are quick and get you what you need just as one would hope and expect! read more

We are from out of state but still needed a CoVid test to visit a loved one and the nurse and nurse practitioner that worked on 8/23/2022 were excellent. I've seen this CVS before and after the upgrade. Exterior and interior looks great, very clean, friendly staff. I've seen so many bad reviews for their pharmacy but haven't had to deal with them. This CVS is in a great location with plenty of free parking but it can get really busy at times. Good variety of everything you might need. Usually come here for the adult electrolyte drinks, sometimes they have a sale on them. read more

Back in 2011, on the night of 04/19 at around 11:00 PM, a friend and I came in to buy some Swisher Sweets. As soon as we asked the cashier to hand us a pack from behind the counter, he burst into a huge bout of laughter. It was a loud, hearty laugh, as if that was the most amusing thing he had ever heard in his life. As soon as he was finished, he reverted to complete stoicism. He then proceeded to check out our items as if the above scenario had never happened. I'm a little baffled. Why did he laugh in our faces like that? What did he think we were going to do with all those Swisher Sweets? How dare he judge us by our merchandise! I wish I could give this location negative stars for its pharmacy department. The sales associates/non pharmacy employees are great. One of the women is especially friendly and makes the experience slightly less traumatic. The store serves well as a convenience retailer. Unfortunately the pharmacy employees are like the dementors in Harry Potter. Who would be mean to sick people and make retrieving medications an even more daunting task? The CVS pharmacy staff of this location, that's who. I will have it be known that I am not the lone angry hophead 'round these parts. Every time I am waiting in line there seems to be an incident between a different customer and a curt pharmacy employee who has made a mistake on an order. I know that some customers can be difficult and horrible without much provocation, but as a "nice" customer who does not enjoy using employees as emotional punching bags, I have observed that the common denominator is the service (or lack thereof). Instead of apologizing or taking action to change the inconsistencies that causes irritability on both sides, the employee gaslights the frustrated customer. Problematizing the customer when the pharmacy makes a mistake causes everybody in the line to feel tense and regretful that they're up next to be inconvenienced and humiliated and betrayed by their belief that they would feel WELL instead of WORSE. Obviously this review is not going to capture the experience of someone who doesn't need to order medications monthly. You may feel the need to jump to the pharmacy's defense because your experience of finding the correct cough drop or picking up one round of antibiotics has been stress-free and friendly, and if you've never had to make a telephone call to an agitated, impatient, often incompetent receiver to inquire about authorized prescriptions to treat ongoing concerns... When I say incompetent I am not throwing the word around to describe an action I didn't like. What I mean is that the pharmacist or tech/assistant I am dealing with often is unclear, makes mistakes, and delivers the wrong information all while directing hostility at me for requesting their service. By snapping an incorrect update at me, they only uphold the problem of confused customers bothering them each month by asking too many questions about their orders. read more

This is specifically for the pharmacy portion of their business, not the rest of the store which I've found to be tremendously pleasant, from their staff to the availability of common thrift store products that everyone needs. If the pharmacy division here were in any other American business than pharmaceuticals, they'd be out of business plain and simple. They're lucky they're offering products and services that people absolutely need. The customer service is not even horrible, it's practically non-existent, and their management needs get this business in line if they even remotely care about customer "service". It shouldn't take 20 minutes to talk to someone at the Drop Off line when there's two people in line and 4-6 employees sitting in the back pretending that customers in line don't exist. You seriously can get someone on the phone here faster than you can talk to someone in person at the drop off line. When you do get someone on the phone, they're usually smug and don't even let you talk. We're not cattle, we're people. Their automated phone system takes your prescription refills like a charm, but they never call you back when they're supposed to like the system promises. To make matters even worse, when you show up to pick up your prescription, sometimes it's not ready at the promised time, and they'll even have the gumption to blame you for not following up instead of apologizing for their system not registering your re-fill order properly. The irony of this all is that I've been coming back to this place like a fool every time, because I need certain medications and they're conveniently located close to me. I've finally decided to bite the bullet and go to Ralph's pharmacy close by and can't believe it's taken me this long. Already I've seen a drastic difference in business, efficiency and customer service from Ralph's compared to this place. read more

This used to be a 24 hour Savon..it is now a 24 hour CVS Pharmacy. The fact that this place is open 24 hours and has a competent pharmacy also open 24 hours...they have my attention. This is the only 24 hour Pharmacy with two hospitals nearby. There is an Urgent Care at Scripps Torrey Pines and also the Emergency Hospital at Scripps Memorial within the area. One would think that this CVS would hire more staff especially given the amount of heavy volume business that they experience at all hours. My mother after being discharged had to get a few medicines. I bumped into some of the same patients I had seen in the Scripps waiting area. One hour wait at 1:30 AM for my Mother's medicines? No thatnks, I'll go some place else. Preferably not a CVS that will have better customer service. read more

By far the worst CVS in San Diego County. Consistently met with attitude by both the Pharmacist and staff on virtually every visit. Made an online appointment at cvs.com for a flu shot and when I arrived, was very sarcastically told by the pharmacist herself, "we don't take appointments". When I produced the confirmation email, she then corrected herself and said, "we don't take them at this location". What do you mean you don't take them at this location? How was I able to make one then? Are you somehow disconnected from the CVS corporation by being in La Jolla? I then asked if they could accommodate me and she practically groaned a sigh and stated, "in a few minutes". Well guess what CVS pharmacy, I don't work around your schedule, you work around mine. That's the purpose of an appointment scheduling system. Perhaps if you used some of the web tools provided to your store, you and your staff would have the time to provide even basic customer service and decency. Just called and spoke to a woman named Jenny trying to fill a prescription. Being a healthy person, I'm not knowledgable in how filling prescriptions work, so I asked Jenny if I could call one in over the phone. She asked if I was the physician to which I responded no, "No I am the patient." She then decided to patronize me with a sarcastic response. I was calling just to get information and I get insulted? Completely unprofessional and truly unbelievable that a person such as Jenny could be employed in a service job such as this. I've been coming to this pharmacy for over a decade -- historically, most visits to the pharmacy went well despite long waits at times. Over the last year, the level of accuracy and customer service has gone downhill. I decided to write a review today because they fucked up something major during the last 5-6 TIMES IN A ROW: wrong quantity, didn't notify me that the prescription they "filled" is out of stock (and therefore there's nothing to pick up), filled my prescription under the wrong person so I had issues picking it up because my info didn't match...stupid bullshit. There's no point in having my doctor call in the prescription because they fuck it up every time and I end up having to wait. Even the autofill orders get fucked up. Don't get me started on the goddamn spam texts...... read more

If I could give this place negative 100 stars I would. I had surgery today and the doctor prescribed several medications to assist with my recovery. Including pain meds and antibiotics which I needed to start immediately. My sister went in to get the prescription and they told her the prescription didn't have all the information they needed on it. Mind you this is a pharmacy most of their patients use all the time because it is directly up the street from the building. In pain and in tears I literally walked into the CVS and begged them to fill the prescription. She said it was standard protocol to check. Because my procedure was at the end of day the doctor had left and the building was closed by the time we were able to fill the prescription so I had to call the emergency line for them to send a message to my doctor. My doctor was highly upset when he called because they just made him verify his license number when he called them back. Mind you he has never had to do this before... I understand if its standard protocol but it was never explained why. When she said she had to call, she was like the pharmacist has to finish her flu shots before we can call. I already told them the place was closing and I just started crying. When the medication was finally finished, they didn't even call to let me know it was done. When we went back up to pick up the meds, the pharmacist hid behind the counter and didn't even come out to explain, mind you one of the meds is a strong pain killer. Their customer service SUCKS and I advise anyone to stay away from this place. read more

Where do I even begin with this CVS? First incident, I was shopping with my mother, and when we were checking out, the cashier offered to upgrade her rewards program membership, which would automatically give customers $5 off every month on all purchases including sales; my mother naturally asked how much the membership would cost, which the cashier insisted was free. However, it was revealed the following day by an employee we were acquainted with that the membership is in fact $10 per month charged from your bank account and NOT free. Is lying to your customers the norm in CVS now? The second incident was when I purchased some Christmas decorations. One of the small figurines was broken, so naturally I went to return it the same day. When I got there, the cashier was so rude about the return for literally no reason; she insisted that she could only give me the sale price even though I'd paid full price, which literally makes no sense (how exactly does an item go on sale in just five minutes?!). When we called her manager, she begrudgingly gave us the full refund. However, what really takes the cake is her parting statement of "This is a one-time thing, okay?!". What sort of attitude is that? Is giving paying, loyal customers ultimatums actually acceptable now? Finally, when we attempted to report the incident with the cashier giving us ultimatums to corporate, the phone operator kept skirting around the subject of the fact that their employees are literally insulting customers. What exactly is the customer relations department for, if all you're going to do is allow your employees to wreak havoc on your customers with no repercussions? read more

This CVS is known for the negative mental attitudes of the pharmacy. Not just by their customers but by other CVS locations. It may take them 30 minutes to refill a prescription but they will tell you 3 hours. This is the kind of place that if there is a line then the 7 people working in the pill area will not even look up to make eye contact. You better not be a new customer even a CVS customer from another location.They will interegate you and act as if you are a Christian in a Muslim country. Well that line is unfair to the Muslims.
