Extremely disappointed with my recent experience at the Walgreens in Lake Geneva. I placed a photo…read moreorder for my daughter's first birthday -- a big day for our family. I picked up what I thought was a completed order, only to get partway home (with a cake and melting ice in the car) and realize the photos hadn't been trimmed as they were supposed to be. I had to drive all the way back to get it fixed. When I finally got home again -- now two hours later -- I opened the poster I'd ordered and discovered that it also wasn't trimmed to size. It looks sloppy and unusable. I tried calling the store to avoid another trip, but after being put on hold twice and never speaking to anyone, it seems I'll have to go back again just to get what I paid for. This is not the first time I've had issues at this location -- they've also failed to have prescriptions ready when promised in the past. I understand that mistakes happen, but there seems to be a serious lack of attention to detail and follow-through here. Not worth the stress or wasted time.

The pharmacy was given all of the insurance information needed to process the order. They were called 3 times on 4/27/26 to be made aware of how serious the order and they reassured me that everything will be processed for a 4/29/26 pickup (today). Well, they didn't process anything, and they are just now sending over information to the physician's office for an authorization they say they needed. They stated that the authorization usually only takes about 24 hours to process. They were not able to give me an answer as to why they waited until today to send in this authorization request, and not send it Monday like they reassured me over the phone. The pharmacy technician used the excuse that their system is older than him and they are not able to read any insurance card information if it's attached in the app. He seemed to think that was a good enough response but that's horrible. So no one is fixing this system? This excuse was given to me years ago but I suppose it's not a priority for the pharmacy manager Vanessa Bellei and Walgreens corporate office to fix. Serious side effects occur within the liver if this medication is stopped abruptly. This is unacceptable. When I spoke to the insurance company shortly after, they were shocked that the pharmacy decided to wait until 4/29/26 to send in the authorization knowing there is a 24 delay, minimum. All of their notes shows that the pharmacy should have sent in the authorization 4/27/26. Now the pharmacy's negligence has delayed my care which luckily the doctor and insurance company documented in case there are medical issues from this. Also, if you care about privacy you won't get it here. Prescriptions are placed in bins that are visible to customers at the pharmacy pickup/drop off desk. I can see full names and addresses by just standing here.

On a recent trip, I was walking by Sandy Popper when something in the window at Modern Apothecary caught my eye. Unfortunately, they were closed at the time, so I made a note to return. On the next trip, after grabbing coffee across the street with a friend, we decided to stop in and finally check it out. The moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with a very abrupt and rude, "We are closing in less than 5 minutes, just so you know." No hello, no welcome--just that. I completely understand if we came in close to closing time, but there's a polite and professional way to communicate that. A simple, "Just so you're aware, we're closing shortly, but feel free to take a quick look around," would've made all the difference. Instead, we felt so unwelcome that we looked at each other and walked right back out. First impressions matter, and sadly, this was both my first and last visit to Modern Apothecary. With so many kind, customer-friendly places in Kenosha, I'll be supporting other local businesses in the future.
