My husband had a major surgery and was prescribed a controlled substance for post op pain. I was told by the discharge nurse (this is my own fault for not double checking the RX/paperwork) that he should take his meds every 6 hours. I was making sure he did this so that his pain would stay under control. So the problem was the RX read that he was supposed to take them every 8 hours instead of 6. I asked his surgeon to send in another RX and I went to pick it up. After waiting in line for 20 minutes at the drive thru-I was told that there was a problem with my insurance (which I did not understand) but the employee at the drive thru stated that it would be ready in 10 minutes regardless. I said great...no rush...I'll just run to the grocery store and come back to get it. When I got back...I was told that it was too early to fill it which I did not understand seeing I thought it was every 6 hours. I was like...why didn't you tell me when I was here before. I will admit I was probably a bit snippy. I said that I realize that they are very busy but everyone's time is valuable. He had also told me that it was the pharmacist discretion whether it be filled early or not. (Which most pharmacies will fill a controlled substance 2 days early if needed.) At this point (it would have been 3 days early and he still had some) I left and had my husband call the next day to see if I could pick it up on my way home from work (for one, a snow storm was coming the next day) and he will be out by the 10th day due to (I admit my fault for the misunderstanding and I had told them about it) to run out before and the answer was no...by law we can't pick it up until the 10 days. So with that being said, I feel really bad that my husband will be in pain and after I pick up that prescription...I will never go to another Walgreens again...

While waiting, I watched an interaction at the counter. An elderly couple came for their vaccine. They were being helped by Charis (I asked her her name on my way out). Charis, at the very hectic window, was so patient, professional, kind and helpful. She displayed a wonderful disposition and attitude at a very busy time. She was scurrying around in the back, making sure things were just right. Her above and beyond attitude didn't go unnoticed. Watching her made my time go by with gratitude and being thankful that there are wonderful human beings in this world who genuinely do want to help. Kudos and thank you, Charis. You made my day at Walgreen's pharmacy a little brighter. A big shout out to Annette, the pharmacy tech who administered my vaccine. Annette was also professional, patient and kind. A great experience and I'm looking forward to my second vaccine dose in 4 weeks.

I think every place in Wisconsins should have those. I was glad to find bloom sparkling water as those taste similar so at least I got something. My boyfriend also got water and chapstick. He got burts bees which gas stations don't always have so he was very content.
