I would like to give a special thanks to the CVS pharmacy staff at this Durango location. After a long day spent at the urgent care for both my father (and then later again that evening my mother) this staff was beyond friendly and kind to us. When I arrived home from work at 7:30 (and was now greeted with a sick mother) I hesitated to even take her to the urgent care knowing that the Pharmacy closed at 9 PM. That would only leave 1.5 hours to go to urgent care, see the doctor & have enough time for the prescription to be dropped off/filled. With ONLY 5 minutes left till their close (and with a tad normal hesitation) the staff agreed to fill the prescription in the tight timeframe. We were so very grateful for the staffs kindness (we all know how it feels to want to close up shop and get the hell home after a long days work). After checking out, I again stated that they were amazing and thank you that they didn't necessarily have to do that for us. One of the pharmacist replied, "Yes, yes we did, we have to get mom feeling better." Man I left that store in such gratitude for that staff. How great to see healthCARE at work. WORST PHARMACY EVER! STEER CLEAR!! I desperately needed to get on a med for a recent, potentially life threatening diagnosis. The script was called in at 9am. After four phone calls to the pharmacy, each resuting in an hour hold, I checked my CVS app and it said "Contact pharmacy to fill medication". Well, good luck with that. I called AGAIN and held for another 40 minutes while my husband called corporate to see if they could help. NOPE. They sent him to the same holding hell I was on. I finally gave up around 7pm and called the CVS near my work. They picked up on the second ring, transferred my script to their store and I was able to get it this morning as promised. This is a healthcare provider and THEY SHOULD KNOW BETTER. I work in healhcare and teach patient experience in my hospital. There are human lives depending on them and they don't give a damn. Seriously I hate this pharmacy they are so slow! Every time I come which is at least 2x a month it takes forever to get my prescriptions. I usual go inside because the drive thru is a home at best. Today I had to TRY the drive thru since I had my kiddos in the car.we waited in line for over 20 minutes and I still did not get my medicine because we just could not wait any longer, and we were the first car. I love Smiths pharmacies so much better they are fast, friendly and much more organized. I only go to CVS because my insurance has me fill certain prescriptions there. The staff is just lazy it's really unfortunate. They don't want to work. While waiting 45 minutes to pick up, the pharmacist even says out loud "I wanna go home." ‍ instead of taking care of the people in line I see them on their phone, doing laps around the pharmacy not looking for prescriptions, just walking around avoiding the people in line. Horrible service last week I was prescribed by my doctor for meds that I needed for pain after surgery. Asian lady pharmacist tried to talk me out of getting that med. I dont know if theyre really out of the med or they are just refusing for me to get it. I had rx for ibuprofen Stool softener plus that pain med. I got a call later on to pickup all my rx and take it somewhere else. Brought it to walgreens right then, what do you know no questions ask got my meds ready in mins. When I went to see my ob gym she was so pissed when I told her my CVS experience. Again today got rx for antiobiotic due to infection from same surgery last week. CVS claimed insurance wont be avail til 3 days from today, well walgreens got it ready for me to pick up in mins. This is by far one of the worst pharmacies I've ever dealt with. Without exaggeration, every single time I have to come here to get a prescription the following occurs: 1) Absolutely rude and condescending remarks from the staff 2) Multiple medication errors 3) Pharmacy staff asks the same questions multiple times 4) Horrendous wait times for a single prescription 5) Medication called in that has a hold through insurance is not addressed by the staff and left in their queue...for days. So far my experience here has been horrific. The doctor sent my prescription via email at 4:45p.m. On a Monday. I show up to CVS they said they didn't receive anything. Mind you, I am in excruciating pain. I call the doctors office and they closed at 5pm. I have to endure the entire night in pain. I call my doctors office the next morning explain to them the pharmacy hasn't received the prescription etc etc. The doctors office calls the pharmacy and it was there the entire time. The doctors office tells me to go pick it up. This was at 9am. I give the pharmacy time to fill it. Try calling over and over. No one ever answers the phone. I decide to go in at 11am. I go to the drop off counter and they tried to tell me the same thing. No prescription was sent to them. I told them to search their system because the medication was emailed over the night before and again this morning. They finally find it and then tell me it's going to be 1.5 hour wait. I technically have been waiting since the night before. This is horrible service. I will never never come to this pharmacy again nor will I refer it to anyone until changes are made. As I sit here waiting for the 1.5 hour they have messed up on several prescriptions as they are not reading the fine print on the doctors orders. Another lady has been waiting over two weeks for them to refill their daughters prescription oh and again no one is answering the phones. read more

I received a text messages from CVS, that stated my daughter's Rx would be ready by 1230p. The message stated that the pharmacy would close for lunch between 130-2pm. I arrived at 215p to a shuttered window without signage. I called the store A representative stated that on Christmas Eve, they closed the Pharmacy at 130p. She apologized because the hours on the message stated that they would reopen at 2pm until 6pm. I went inside only to see three Employees behind a screened area still working. I asked that someone simply release my prescription that was ready, they refused. I along with several other Customers were visibly upset. We had all received text message to come to pickup Rx that were ready. My prescription was called in at 9 am and i had not heard about the refill by 7pm, so i called. I was on hold for 20 minutes. I decided to go to the CVS and see if it was done. The line was about 10-12 people long and not moving at all. I went to the prescription drop off and two employees, while busy filling prescription couldn't even acknowledge me and explain they would assist me in a few minutes. An employee came over after another five minutes and said she hasn't had a chance to review my prescription to see if it could be filled. I asked if i should wait till tomorrow and she said they are busy and didn't know if it would be ready then either. I told her I tried to call but no answer and she told me they don't answer the phone. Now it is almost 12 hours since it was turned in and they couldn't get to it till the next day. I would have had it sent to another pharmacy but it was antibiotic and cough medicine I needed. An employee behind her found the prescription and said if i stand in line she would have it done. Terrible pharmacy. The employees not rude and were pleasant but excessive wait time and terrible customer service to basic questions. Was in today, waiting in line at the pharmacy to pick up a prescription. The pharmacy student was asking the woman she was checking out if she wanted to get her flu shot while she was there. The woman said "no", and one of the pharmacy techs responded with "good! I've never gotten one before either and I got mine recently and it made me so sick"- she announced loud enough for anyone within earshot to hear. This is NOT what the pharmacy staff should be promoting- don't get vaccines, they'll make you sick! Moved my prescriptions to this CVS from Los Angeles. I tried a couple CVS in Vegas and this one is the closest to where I am staying. The first woman I spoke with behind the counter was rude and in a rush to leave her shift. The prescriptions had been placed in greater amounts by the doctor than I needed. The person didn't confirm amounts or insurance with me prior to ringing me up. I'm brand new to their store. They can see that. I only realized that the doses were incorrect from the doctor when they told me the amount. I told her I needed only one month and she asked impatiently whether I wanted to wait another 20 minutes while they fix it or come back later. I told her I would wait. She tossed the prescription bags and as I waited I saw her grab her personal belongings and leave out in a rush. When I got my prescriptions from a different woman (it didn't take 20 minutes to fix it, more like 5 minutes), I asked for a consult since I was taking one of the meds for the first time. At most CVS where I go they ask if you want a consult every time you check out. Asking for a consult seemed to be an imposition. When I went to the consult counter, the woman who came up handed me my prescription, told me to take it with food and that I could read about the medication for myself. She told me not to read too much about the side effects or I would start thinking I was experiencing them. Are you kidding me?? Insinuating that I am a hypochondriac because I want to know how the drugs I'm purchasing will affect my body is inappropriate. Having the expert tell me about the effects of the drug is entirely the point of a consult. I told her that since I'm new to this drug it's important to me to understand the effects. She then told me some of the side effects are nausea and headache, among other things. I asked more specifics, including whether weight gain would be one of the effects. She said yes but instead of telling me more about that, she said that if it's not working for me I should ask the doctor for something else. I asked again if there were other side effects and she repeated that I shouldn't pay attention to them because then I'll think I have them. The fact that I had to keep probing to find out what I should have simply been told during the consult was unacceptable. The female pharmacist was very short, impatient, and not at all what I have experienced from other pharmacists at CVS. While I understand that there are many costumers to help and a pharmacy may be busy, the approach at this CVS was inappropriate and disappointing from people in the health care services industry. I am calling my pharmacist to change my prescriptions to a different CVS. I'd rather go further than be treated in this manner. Maybe Walgreens across the street would have better customer service. read more

This store is out of control and management seems powerless to correct the deplorable service. I made an appointment for simple flu shot. Despite having UnitedHealthcare coverage and SilverScript (CVSCaremark) coverage I was turned away being told my insurance didn't cover a flu shot. Ridiculous! So, I called SilverScript customer service. The person answering the telephone said, 'Yes, you are covered and entitled to receive the flu shot'. She said, 'Let's call the pharmacist to see why they didn't accept you for a flu shot'. No one at the store answered the call and soon my call with customer support disconnected. I'm supposed to be happy and accept this level of customer service? Who are they kidding? What is a CVS customer to do? This is the worst pharmacy. I am not sure if there is any actual communication between pharmacist and staff, but I've had my prescription deleted from my profile, and a promise to fill thyroid medication. After explaining that I pay cash for my thyroid, they still continue to try to go through insurance (my insurance has not ever covered this medication, and have repeatedly explained this to 5 different staff at the pharmacy) and end up delaying my refill. I was promised that the pharmacist would call my doctor to replace my other deleted script, only to find that no one ever remedied the issue. Do not use this pharmacy. read more

I don't know why this place has such low reviews, It's a freaking pharmacy. I live pretty much equal distance to two CVS's and two Walgreens but like this location the most because CVS tends to have my medications in stock unlike Walgreens. This location offers free delivery during the pandemic and offers immunizations which I've taken advantage of. I got the whooping cough vaccine because my sister just had a baby and in order to see the newborn she wanted us all to get the shots. The two nurses that were working were so nice and had some awesome conversation with me making me feel very comfortable in that little room during the beginning of covid 19. Since then I've gone inside to pick up meds, done the drive-thru, And recently used the drive-thru lane with the weird Star trek style beam which were all easy experiences. again I have no idea why people don't like this location as it's a pharmacy and you go there to get stuff that you need to stay healthy so be freaking grateful. read more

The night after the surgery, I was in so much pain because they forgot to give me the PAINKILLER my doctor prescribed to me. I was crying and in so much pain. This store is going downhill. The management team member Charles, can either be nice or rude. He messed up my transaction and didn't take ownership. He applied one of my extrabucks and said he didn't. I've been shopping at CVS for some time and I know that extrabucks don't just come off automatically, you have to select it. He may have had slippery fingers and selected one of my extrabucks, but he kept debating with me that he didn't. Even at self-checkout, the screen will ask me if I want to apply my extrabucks one at a time and if you accidentally do select the extrabucks and you didn't mean to, well that's too bad, it will come off and if there's overage, you lose it. So when I got to my car, I saw $3.18 came off when it was supposed to be $3 CRT coupon. I checked my app and I was missing a $5 extrabucks and the $3 CRT digital coupon was still available. CVS staff are becoming argumentative. Not customer focused, just company focused. Obviously you want to get promoted right, but you don't care for customer service. I've worked in customer service for a long time and I don't argue with customers. Sure, you gave up and decided to manually give me the $5 extrabucks, but why you have to be rude about it. It's not your money and it's just doing what's right for the customer. Employees take their job way too seriously that they lose focus on what drives the company and that's the customers. Soon we will be relying more on self checkout, which might be great for places with disgruntled employees. Employees forget that stores get surveys, which I get fairly often for this store. Something to think about before you decide to act rude and know you can get a bad survey. Speaking from experience, surveys can becoming a coaching and ways for improvements. Mostly likely there are market leaders can review how stores are doing and it sucks to be someone that isn't customer focused. read more
