I thought for $1.99 I should just leave and forget about it but the fact that I had to waste 15 minutes of my time finding out whether I legitimately purchased it at that store I waited there to get my money back. Maybe they will look at their items more closely to make sure they're not expired before selling them to people hopefully I don't get sick from the expired food.

We were staying in a nearby motel, and while the distance to this CVS was quite reasonable, their limited 9am-9pm hours certainly weren't. :/ I'm more used to drug stores being open early/late or even 24hrs in the event something urgent arises. But I will say that the employee at the front was very helpful. Being out of town and in a hurry, I asked where my items were and she helpfully stopped what she was doing to walk me to the aisle and show me the exact location. This was very appreciated.
