This is a follow up review to a previous one where I gave this pharmacy five stars. The five stars was earned by the pharmacist on a Sunday. Since that Sunday I have come in during the week and have had to deal with the clerks, who could certainly use additional training. Today I experienced at 6:50, ten minutes before closing, the clerk looking at me and then rolling down the shade to the drop off window. I went over to another area in the pharmacy and waited...and waited. The clerk came up and said, "Name". No hello, no please, no thank you. That was followed up with, "Date of Birth." And onward, no smile, just an unpleasant attitude. I have the distinct feeling I was a bother. Time to go elsewhere...except on a Sunday. read more

Jeez! They open at 08:00, but the pharmacist is there at 09:00. Ok. I come back at 09:00, but is now looking like the pharmacist is running late due to traffic and won't be there till 10:00. Understand. I come back at 12:00 and they know it's filled, just can't find it. You pick how many stars. read more

Came here after my wife was in the hospital all day for a heart issue. Brought prescription to be filled and they refused to fill it because they were closing in 7 minutes. Can't believe how heartless they were. read more

CVS Pharmacy - Very unhelpful pharmacy - Drugstores Near Me - Oakland, California

Worst pharmacy ever. They take a long lunch (claimed it was 25 minutes, but we had time to check multiple Rxs with another worker there, buy things next door, and she still wasn't back). They close an hour earlier than all other CVS pharmacies (5 instead of 6 pm), they never called to say it was filled, and when we showed up at 5:02, they refused to help us. On top of that, they refused to even give us the hard copy so we could go to another CVS. I will look to another pharmacy from here, anywhere but here. read more

The quick and short of it.. Go anywhere else. I had two prescriptions that needed to be filled there only because it was near my place. I walked in to see a woman behind the counter was so focused with the chip on her shoulder than customer service. Smiling and being nice when your in the customer servicer industry is what should be the norm. When I gave her my name she told me it's not here. I know my doctor is a professional so when he said he called it into the this store last night I believe him over the CVS 'chip" girl. I had to repeat my name three times which I don't believe is a difficult name at all. I even accompanied the spelling of my name with the pronunciation each time. I was told no "we don't have it." She then proceeded to hand me a piece of paper so I can write down my name. Really? I was born and raised in Seattle, WA. I have no accent that would give her a hard time with understanding me. I'm now getting frustrated with her and her chip because it's clearly my fault for saying my own name wrong and my name not being in the computer. Yikes. Lucky my Doctor knew I was there and called while I was in front of "chip" girl. Apparently my name was spelled wrong with an "M" replaced where an "N" should've been. THAT was my fault too, NICE! A few days later I can in with a prescription for 800mg of Ibuprofen which is stocked in every pharmacy across this country due to its wide use. I handed "CHIP" girl with my prescription. She replied "It's gonna take an hour." DONE! No "sorry sir it will be about an hour." How about "would you like to shop a little while we get this ready for you." I would have been happy with "they have great coffee next door if you want to wait while we get your prescription ready." Clearly NO clue... I don't think it's isolated to her.. Management knows about her and lets "chip" girl to continue with her chip and crappy attitude. read more

I stopped by this former Longs' Drug Store to TRY and pick up a bottle of Multi-Vitamins. I must have came on an "off" day. What do I mean by "off"? There was nothing but plastic covered crates stacked in almost every aisle. Clearly they were merchandising the store. I can understand if there are a few items that need to be stocked. But the entire store? During opening hours? I'm not trying to be sour on this...I'm going somewhere with this story. When I asked where I can find a bottle of multi-vitamins, I get a bunch of blank stares. It's like the workers are not authorized to say so? Finally, someone "points" to the aisle where they could be found. There's everything but regular/normal multi-vitamins. (they carried women's prenatal, men's 50+ senior,...) I don't qualify for these. I wasn't feeling it at CVS, so I went to Safeway next door. read more

garbage pharmacy. i gave up on this place after waiting days for prescriptions, being told they were ready after being way overdue, going to pick them up and they're not ready. they have boxes of unorganized prescriptions they're just rifling through, usually only one person on duty with a mile long line. don't bother. read more

Just got off the phone w/ both the pharmacy tech & the clerk @ CVS Redwood Road. The issue was that I was unable to identify CVS coding for an OTC medication to see if it qualified as one of the Dr. allowed OTCs on my Flexplan. I believe that it was Sudafed, but the coding DEXT ER 30 mg does not make sense. The CVS website says that I can call the store & they can verify the CVS Coding. So waste of my time, after stating the CVS coding, the question & the need for the questions @ least 6 times & being transferred around the store, I was told that I had to bring the receipt into the store & could not even fax them a copy of the receipt. Fully & purposely unhelpful. read more

This is a tiny CVS tucked behind Safeway. They were out of a few products I was looking for (like Vitamin B1) and didn't have as many choices as a larger CVS, but for most items and filling prescriptions, it seems fine. The manager was very pleasant and nice. read more

I hate this pharmacy. The actual pharmacist is really nice and totally helpful. It's the tech or cashier (or whatever she's supposed to be) is so rude! I won't describe what she looks like but I think people will know if they go there or have been there. So now I make sure to pick up my meds from the pharmacy near my office in SF. Everyone there is SO much nicer and helpful! Reading the reviews, it sounds like everyone complains about this same, rude lady so why don't they fire her?? She's in a customer service industry and there is no excuse for treating customers this way. She has the typical finger-wagging, don't-take-up-my-time nuh-uh attitude that has no place in a role like this. The ratings for this CVS is low solely because of her! read more

Two weeks ago I transferred all my prescriptions from a Walgreens pharmacy to this CVS location. Today I reverted back to the Walgreens pharmacy. The reasons are: 1) Business hours are very limited compared to Walgreens, 9am to 7pm vs. 8am to 9pm. A couple days ago walked in to the store at 9:15am and the pharmacy was still closed. 2) The CVS mobile app is a mess none of the employees at this CVS location know how to operate. CVS app is right out unusable. Walgreens app is much better designed and implemented. 3) CVS kept sending me "Your prescription is ready for pick up" text messages after I had picked up the prescription. 4) CVS medication bottles are really hard to open. 5) One of the pharmacists is rude and gives attitude. She should be fired or at least trained in the basic principles of customer care. Who needs a rude pharmacist? 6) They refilled 4 prescriptions without I requesting it or they being due for refill. Their system seems glitchy. All in all a complete disaster. Bye, bye CVS. You won't be missed. read more

This store is supposed to open at 8. It's now 8:15 and not open. Very annoying. I see the woman inside eating breakfast and drinking coffee. Several people have walked away. The store sucks anyway but it is convenient. Still not open after writing this review. I guess I'm done here. Would be nice if they change the sign or let people standing out here know when they will deign to open. read more

The pharmacist today, Ida, was rude and had no control of the pharmacy. It was an unnecessarily long wait because she had to scold 2 of the pharmacy staff, loudly enough for all to hear. I felt so badly for one of the new staff members that was told to clock out. I will switch our Rx's to RiteAid or Walgreens going forward. No one needs to be treated so badly. read more

This is a small store, very hidden in the back of Safeway. I always come here to do my couponing. But this store doesn't always have everything that am looking for. Oh well. The associates here are very pleasant and sweet.Which is the main reason I like coming here. I am greeted with a warm welcome every time I walk in. I feel like I am greatly appreciated here. I can always find my Sunday newspaper here, even when it's late in the afternoon. Thanks CVS and to their wonderful staff :) read more

Go somewhere else! I had the exact same experience as the previous reviewer - plus some! The aisles were indeed full of boxes and empty shelves. I asked for kitchen plastic wrap. I got "the point" to an aisle. Out. Really? Plastic wrap? In addition, I had the most unprofessional pharmacy interaction that I have EVER experienced. I have a condition that results in me taking painkillers which require the hard copy Rx. Sherri the pharmacist treated me like a drug addicted criminal: She did not believe that the Rx that I submitted was authentic. Called the last CVS that I used to check on me. Called my Dr's office. Cancelled the Rx without calling me to tell me. Told me that she "had her theories of what was going on but did not want to tell" me. Absolutely unreal! "Theories"?? I resolved the issue with my Dr and gave her the phone number so that she could speak to the Dr herself - she did not even believe me that I gave her the correct phone number! Her disrespectful attitude was astounding. A woman with too much power in her very small world. I am a professional woman in my 40's with a secret clearance and wearing a suit. I cannot imagine how she would have treated me if I was in dirty jeans and t shirt after a hike! There are too many pharmacy choices in the area to support this one. Move along! read more

Staff always ask if I need help and are very courteous. Has what you need from a pharmacy and some great deals!

My entire family has used this pharmacy forever. Always great service by the amazing Cynthia ! She is always on top of everything and goes out of her way to help. She can remember names and numbers like no other ! Kudos to you Cynthia. I will never leave this pharmacy (even tho out of my way now) as long as Cynthia is there!! read more

We've been getting prescriptions filled here for years (the ones we can't mail order) and we are finally fed up. Sometimes they don't have medications in stock, don't bother to notify you, and then are less than helpful when you go there to find you can't get what you need. It's hard for my disabled husband to walk up the hill, only to be told his prescription isn't filled again, this time two days in a row. We've also got calls that a prescription can't be filled, but when we go there and try to find out what it is, they won't tell you which one! Then we get constant robocalls saying we have a prescription there, but go to pick it up and they don't actually have one. More robocalls to try to get us to refill something. When you have a number of meds to track, they don't make it easy. Some staff are downright rude, we're looking for a new pharmacy. read more

I needed to pick up a prescription for my grandmother. I called first to find out if it was ready. They answered and immediately put me on hold. I held for 35 minutes and no one ever came back. I decided to go into the store to see if it was ready. The line wasn't too long. In five minutes or so I was at the counter. The prescription was apparently not ready, so the woman told me it would be fifteen minutes. After about ten minutes I hear the woman say to her co-worker that she has something ready for (my grandmother's name). I still waited 20 more minutes without being acknowledged. At this point the line had grown five people deep, but I decided I'd better get in line again so she'd have to help me. The customer in the front of the line saw me, and told me to go ahead since I had been there first. As soon as the woman called me to the window she says, oh, it's ready now! Really? I have been going to this pharmacy since it was Longs, and these new employees there are truly lacking in their service. It's really sad. read more

I hate this store and pharmacy with a passion. Whenever you shop at this store, you will likely have to stand in line for at least 20 minutes. Worse, the pharmacy is terrible. The customer service is nonexistent. The pharmacist has a chip on her shoulder and she is really a mean person. She's totally unhelpful. The last time I picked up a prescription the instructions were not even on the label. I had to call my doctors office to find out how to "use as directed by doctor" as indicated on the label. How lazy is that ???? You will also wait in line for service at this pharmacy. Find another CVS if you HAVE to go to CVS. Otherwise skip it and go to Rite Aid. read more

This CVS packs a ton of personal service into it's small size. Cynthia is exceptionally capable and so aware, it almost appears as if she knows I am coming in. My medication regime is complicated, so the CVS app is helpful. But I never mind having to pick up the phone when the technology breaks down. They keep me abreast of medicines that need to be ordered or prescriptions that need a reauthorization. Cynthia has also been a brilliant interface between my doctor's office and my insurance company when pre-authorizations are required. They even have a service that allows you to pull up in front of the store and get your medicine. read more

I wouldn't normally vouch for a store that is part of a chain but everyone at this particular branch has always been extremely helpful, especially Cynthia K-W in the pharmacy. She goes the extra mile to figure out any glitches with insurance coverage. read more
