I'm not surprised with the low rating for this pharmacy location. Service has definitely gone downhill after Cynthia left. Two separate days, I called to refill an RX. Something it would not allow me to do online. Both times, I was on hold for more than 50 mins before finally hanging up. I get that they are busy so perhaps corporate should hire some more help and not just pocket the profits. Really awful customer experience and I know you don't care. I was the last person in line today when the pharmacy manager cut me off at 1:25p, saying they go to lunch at 1:30p. I was just picking up a prescription that was sitting on the shelf, which usually takes 3 min or less. When one of the staff members started helping me, the manager came by again and forced her to stop, saying "we shut off our systems", "come back at 2:05", over and over again like I was in the wrong, when clearly the computers were working and possible to complete the transaction by others. I was unable to stay and wait, so I ended up not getting my meds. Zero compassion. I understand it's important to take breaks, but the rules here should also make sense for patients. Like you really couldn't just do one more transaction? Don't come and expect to be treated like a human here. read more

This is probably the worst cvs I've even been to in my life. Every single month I have to dedicate 2+ hours to getting my routine prescriptions filled. Last month they tried to fill the wrong version of my medication and it took a week to sort out - finally I had to have the doctor call and correct them as they wouldn't listen to me or even my insurance company. The month before, they told me I didn't have any prescriptions for refill after I was told they were ready for pick up and I waited for 30 min in line. Then I had to wait in another line for 30 min where they realized they apparently typed my info in wrong. The month before that, there was a random pill mixed in with my usual pills. What a treat! Wonder what new adventures this month will bring. I hope this place is condemned. read more

Line to pick up med had 3 people ahead of me. Took a few minutes, and I had time to wait. Pharmacist, Sean A , was extremely helpful. He helped to apply my coupon to get a reduction in price. Yay !! He was patient to go over the details of my prescription. read more

The pharmacy here is SO overworked and yet they really try to give the best service they can. I love Sean the pharmacist. He's competent, funny and kind though he deals with a lot every day. Waited 30 minutes just for the lady at the counter to completely brush us off because there was a line behind us near closing time. There was an issue with the prescription in the system but we have the papers straight from the hospital. She just kept repeating come back tomorrow I'm trying to take care of this line, like did we not just wait in this line like everyone else?? Apparently I managed to pick the worst pharmacy on the planet. You would think being up the hill a little it would be slightly less hood, but nope. They're constantly out of stock. They act surprised when I asked them to check other local CVS, and like I was asking for a spare kidney to move it to one of them. The app just said, "This refill is taking longer than expected, check back later" for an entire week, but then twice when I called it was magically in stock. If you go to this place near closing, good luck. The pharmacist had a mini meltdown. She was stomping around, gritting her teeth, slamming drawers, and then she pointed at me and said, "Okay, he's the last one we're helping today. Everybody else has to come back tomorrow." Now, I'd been standing in that line for a good 20 minutes already, (and waiting an hour before that besides when my supposedly "ready for pickup" scrip was actually not ready) and several people came in before closing. She just kicked them all out. Unbelievable. Maybe this is fine if you're just picking up zit medicine. My stuff is life-critical. After seeing terrible CS and the restock issues on multiple occasions, I hard noped out. I strongly suspect many of these issues are systemic due to CVS policy, but whatever. This is a "You had one job" kind of thing to me: put the pills in the bottle and let me get on with my day. If you can't do that, you failed at your basic purpose and need to step aside so others can do the job. read more

Customer service at the pharmacy is consistently terrible. Long long lines, then when you get to the cashier, they either do not have what their app said was ready, or they go digging around everywhere which wastes more time. they tell you to go talk to the pharmacist at the window, who immediately walks away and goes to help someone else even though you were now waiting twice. Disorganized? Just don't give a s#*t? I don't know. Rite Aid was so much better- why did that store close? Suggest: Have a board that lights up when your prescription is available (Kaiser does this. Much more efficient and less time consuming.) Maybe not act like the customer is an inconvenience? read more

And just now after being told for almost a month that the prescription was ready but it wasn't , I received this update: CVS Pharmacy: Jane, your Rx has unclear or missing info. We requested clarification from your prescriber. Please note this process may take some time. Incompetent and unprofessional doesn't even cover it. And just now they reported that the reason is my insurance won't cover and I'm convinced it's because it's a duplicate of a nearly month old order that they lost! read more

I've been coming here for two years and I've never experienced such horrible customer service on Christmas Eve, the gentleman with the glasses with the beard who has been working here for a while, was very rude today on such holiday. Since the Covid virus is still lingering in our lives, I figured I should take advantage of my health insurance benefits covering self-test kits for 2023 and order some kits to have on-hand. I wanted to get the Binax Now test kits and from the CVS app, this location was the only one that was offering it under health insurance coverage. I placed the order on the app and I received a confirmation text and in five minutes a ready for pickup text. The store is located in the Lincoln Square Shopping Center to the right of Safeway. The store looks dated and is one of the smallest CVS I've been to with narrow aisles. No online pickup counter or line. You wait in the regular customer line, which was about four deep, and when it's your turn, you tell the clerk you have an online order, give your name and she goes to the back to retrieve your order and you're on your way. Overall, the ordering process was simple. The clerk was friendly but wished there was an online pickup counter. Walked around a little and did notice that since this was a small store, its inventory selection was limited. read more

I had to wait in a line for over 30 minutes to fill a prescription for a drug to help me stand and walk. This was very painful and exacerbated the condition. In the meantime, my wife was trying to purchase some advil gelcaps that were locked up in the adjacent aisle, She pushed the button to get help 3 times, but noone ever game to open the lock. You guys just lost a couple of customers. My earlier experiences here were pretty good, but things seem to have really gone down hill. Best vaccination experience ever: 7 min total for two shots. I had an appointment for 5:45 PM. The vaccination nurse, whose name I think was Kemi (I regret not writing it down), had looked at the schedule and already prepared all my stuff a few minutes before I arrived at 5:43 PM. I had a UPS package shipped here for pickup. Got the notification from UPS that it had been delivered and I went over later that day to pick it up. The woman at the front said they don't get UPS deliveries anymore, even though tracking clearly said it had been delivered to this location. I went to the UPS Store in the same shopping center to just double check that it had not been delivered there by mistake, and it had not. I called UPS to verify the delivery location and they confirmed it had been delivered to this CVS location. So either the person there is lying, is too lazy to look or they're stealing packages. I see this location is still a UPS Access point pickup per UPS, so they do deliver here. read more

Went in to get a prescription from the pharmacy. Everyone in the store was kind and friendly from the security guard in the front to the pharmacist and technicians. We waited a few minutes to get a prescription filled, but it was not a long time at all (maybe ten minutes). The pharmacist was helpful and we had an overall great experience. read more

CVS here is the smallest i've been to. there's more personnel(3) in the pharmacy than there are patrons in the store. short hours. closes at 9. buys: 5 oz candy(1.79) jellyfruit -many kinds of candies, looks like a mini version of what's available at a theatre. beverages are pricey here...didn't see any booze. read more

This pharmacy is dreadful. It's always a very long wait, one of the pharmacists is particularly rude especially to the elderly and prescriptions are never ready in a reasonable time. Sometimes they will tell you it's ready and you go and it's not or often I have to call (which takes forever to get connected) and remind them to fill something. Also none of the pharmacists wear masks! One time a pharmacist was saying he had just been to the doctor for a virus the day before! All pharmacists should wear masks to protect elderly and immunocompromised. We will be going somewhere else. read more

This place has gone from bad to worse, how do you manage putting all of the most incompetent people in the same department (the pharmacy). I had my prescription called in on a Monday, when I got there on Friday, he said that they didn't have a prescription for me. When I insisted he found it but I still had to wait 25 minutes for the pharmacist to fill it. I stood nearby to put pressure on the clerk, but he was so preoccupied with what he was doing he didn't even see that my prescription was sitting on the shelf, incredible. read more

This store is kinda dirty and dated inside. The pharmacists are friendly but are impossible to reach via phone. I've waited on hold for 20-60 minutes on multiple occasions which is insane. Todays score was 52 minutes before it hit closing time and I got an auto hang up. :) read more

This store used to be good and very helpful staff in pharmacy. Today, I visited this pharmacy and knowledgeable helpful staff was replaced by a young punk with an ear ring who seemed on a drug and couldn't do a single transaction. The pharmacy side of this store need to be overhauled as it irresponsible manager and mainly district manager whom I contacted don't return calls and completely useless. They brought this ignorant hudllum to run its pharmacy and replaced its helpful knowledgeable staff. In store side they are still good and helpful read more

The staff and location of this great. I have only one problem with this store: CVS is allowing thieves to openly steal products from the shelves, fill up a large plastic bags, and walk out of the store. Not only is this a crime but it also creates a unsafe shopping experience and higher costs for those who pay. CVS could do what Walgreens has done and agree to bring a police officer into the store to prevent thieves from taking stuff. Perhaps this officer could patrol the CVS and nearby Safeway and other shops. If CVS really cares about Oakland community and people who shop at CVS (as their website says), then they should take actions to protect us while shopping in this store. This is a much smaller CVS than other locations, and unfortunately the hours are very limited. And I wouldn't exactly commend their customer service either. But it is in an area where drug stores or convenience stores are hard to come by so it's worth the trip. And they also have their own parking, so that's an added bonus. Become a rewards member so you can take advantage of their deals. read more

This is always my go to CVS. It's close by and convenient for me. I probably go once a week. The employees are very nice to me and ask if I have any questions, like a good employee should. I love using my CVS card to get the best coupons, even though it gives me buttload of ones I'll probably never need to use. read more

Hands down the worst customer service from a pharmacy I have ever experienced, and on multiple occasions. I only continue to come here as it is nearest to my house but even then I am considering switching pharmacies. 1. Pharmacist refusing to take my new Rx because I arrived 1 minute after pharmacy closing time, so that I had to take another trip to return to drop it off the next day. 2. Not calling me when my Rx was filled. I finally called myself and they said it's been ready (no apology for nobody notifying me). I said I am 15 minutes away can I come get it I really need that medicine tonight and got the response "we close in 10 minutes sorry" 3. Change of Rx and I asked them to cancel auto fill on the old one. Never got done and when I got the notice my Rx was ready I asked the tech why it seemed like it was getting filled earlier than it should to which she just shrugged and said I don't know, next customer! Turns out it was because it was still my old medication. Didn't realize until 2 weeks later when I needed to start my new month and so missed a dose of medication. Called the next AM and the tech yelled at ME! Saying it was my fault for not checking the medication closer when I picked it up (even though I told the pharmacist something seemed off). 4. Went to pick up an Rx at 1:30 was told the pharmacist is on break and you can't pick up a new Rx without them here you have to wait 30 minutes to pick up the Rx, even though I did not want a pharmacist consult. After waiting 40 minutes for pharmacist to return, tech just says "pharmacist declined" to which the pharmacist walking back in from lunch says "ok" without any heed to me or what medication it was. Glad I needed to wait 40 minutes for that! None of this is the end of the world but in all, nothing is ever simple or done right at this place and they make no effort to try to make things easier for the customer or even be apologetic when they know the customer is being inconvenienced. If you haven't started filling your prescriptions here yet -- don't start!!! read more

This review does not apply to the pharmacy. Those employees have always been wonderful. Recently I went to purchase an electric toothbrush which, given rampant theft, was locked up. When the clerk came to unlock the cabinet, she asked me "Which one do you want to see?". As there were several models, I told her I would need to look at them all before deciding. When I again stated that I wanted to see them first, she would not open the case. It was clear that she wasn't going to allow me to handle the boxes. I told her to forget it and that I would go somewhere else. Later I called and asked to speak with the manager. The assistant manager was quite apologetic but I never got a call back from the manager, which had been promised. Funny how they allow people to steal merchandise constantly but wouldn't let me even handle a prospective purchase. I told the sales clerk that I "wasn't going to steal anything" and she replied "I didn't say you were", though she treated me like a common thief. I will miss the discount coupons but won't shop at this CVS again and will never buy anything that requires a clerk to open a cabinet. I will shop at our local, independent pharmacy! FYI, I got the toothbrush on Amazon, the same day and skipped the bad treatment. read more

This is a follow up review to a previous one where I gave this pharmacy five stars. The five stars was earned by the pharmacist on a Sunday. Since that Sunday I have come in during the week and have had to deal with the clerks, who could certainly use additional training. Today I experienced at 6:50, ten minutes before closing, the clerk looking at me and then rolling down the shade to the drop off window. I went over to another area in the pharmacy and waited...and waited. The clerk came up and said, "Name". No hello, no please, no thank you. That was followed up with, "Date of Birth." And onward, no smile, just an unpleasant attitude. I have the distinct feeling I was a bother. Time to go elsewhere...except on a Sunday. read more
