Walked in pharmacy got in line. Four people ahead of me. However, it went so quickly. I was called up I had accidentally sent two meds to SanLeandro pharmacy. She said she would have them sent over. And she did very quickly. Came back in 15 min. Every medicine was ready. The pharmacist waved to me from the back. I thought that was pretty cool and nice. And the gentleman that was taken care of me was very friendly. He asked how I was doing. He did a really nice warm greeting. And when I left, he thanked me. This is very nice. Came in at lunch time and with a short wait was out soon enough. This one is in the main building. I think there are 1 or 2 other pharmacies in this Kaiser campus. The main parking garage is free for first hour or two!? Don't remember exactly. I think if you would read the side effects of anything you get from here you probably wouldn't take it. Received a text stating my medication was ready this past Wednesday. Arrived today to pick it up. Pharmacy is claiming my medicine can't be found and the pharmacist was looking for it . Was told to take a seat. 20 minutes later, called my name and I see they just filled it. Had me wait because it was never processed on their end. Ridiculous! read more

Whoever is leading this pharmacy now is clearly making the right changes. After years of dealing with slow service and frustration, I'm happy to say things have improved significantly. Wait times are much quicker, and they've stopped giving unrealistic estimates (no more "15-20 minutes" when it was really 30-40). Even better--they've started proactively communicating. When there was a delay with one of my prescriptions this week, they actually called to update me. That's a level of service I never expected here! The current staff is also much more attentive and helpful. It's refreshing to see such a positive change after so many years of disappointment. As someone coming from Logistics, I completely appreciate the cohesiveness and efficiency that this Pharmacy seems to operate under while maintaining a postive patient experience. The staff at the counter are exceptional and seem to genuinely enjoy working there! Ryan Hyams is the manager who I've always seen supporting the staff on a regular basis. Prepare to stand in line and wait! This is the ground floor Main Pharmacy (Rx) at Kaiser Oakland. It's NOT a 24-hour Rx. It's located right next to the security desk of the hospital entrance nearest the parking complex (on Broadway). The Discharge Rx is next to it. I usually use the Mail Order Rx to get my meds. But one time, they refused to fill my order because it was "TOO SOON!" I was down to a week's worth and had no choice but go to this main Rx and plea my case. The clerk took my problem to a Pharmacist, and they looked at my ordering history. The Pharmacist gave me 2 week's worth of pills, and sent an email to my Doctor. The next day everything was cleared up. But in general, with Covid limitations, you have to wait in line. Sometimes the line goes out the door and down the hallway. They have lots of windows, but the process can be slow. My advice.....mail order Pharmacy or pay for delivery. Or just figure out when it's slow. Date: 5/25/2022 Time: 6:30 PM 72° Sunny I was at this pharmacy after being discharged from the hospital on April 29, 2022 to pick up two prescriptions. At that time, I noticed the long line heading out the entrance. There were more people waiting inside the pharmacy. It was crowded. I did not have to wait. Since I was in a wheelchair, hospital employee had me wait in a section where it did not take long for me to get my medicine. Yesterday afternoon I was at the Kaiser pharmacy in Alameda to fill a prescription, which they did not have available and there will be a delay in getting it. I asked the pharmacy technician to contact this pharmacy for pickup. Ten minutes later, I received a text from Kaiser that said prescription (PRA) was ready for pickup, main pharmacy, 1st Floor, Oakland Kaiser. Upon arrival, I lucked out. The line was not that long, five people in front of me. The wait time took about 15 minutes to pick up my medicine. When I exited this pharmacy, the line had about 10 people outside the entrance. Whew! In and out of there without the long wait. read more

I would absolutely give this location pharmacy 0 stars. The staff is so rude when interacting with people that need to pick up things to better their health. I got in line to pick up a prescription needed and was told it'll be ready in less than 30 minutes. 40 minutes go by, no names were updated on the screens, no names were called out so I get back in line. And then the only guy helping people pick their medications up helps two other people that were not in line because they were waiting 25 minutes already. HELLLO? I was waiting longer than that and yet you still help them first. Then I get helped, or should I say serviced, now I have been waiting over an hour as this line was not moving. He tells me they don't have my prescription at all. And I ask why wouldn't you just tell me that once you all realized the one that was needed wasn't in the building. He said it wasn't his fault and just to wait. Then 10-15 minutes after he rings me up and proceeds to show me the price, at this point I have already been waiting, I'm obviously going to pay for it because if I didn't need it I wouldn't left. Then ask me if I still want it? Please have some empathy, sense of urgency, & communication to those picking up medications NEEDED for an increase or continuation of their wellbeing. Kaiser Hospital needs to pay their nurses more money. Doctors have about 100 patients. As I am getting older, Kaiser doesn't have alot of time for me. The doctors all tell you, "I have a hundred patients on my plate".They don't have the time to talk about new illnesses. Kaiser was good while I was younger: No problems, easy in and out. Now, doctors are hard to access via phone or get e-mail messages back. Doctors don't ever give out their office phone number.Its frustrating to find out information from your doctor. I hope this post helps you. However, I have a little fear about writing about Kaiser. I have been there for about 30 yrs. Its just not working well for me anymore.I advise people to do all your own research and keep close track of your blood tests, etc. read more

The worst of the Kaiser pharmacies. The wait times are ridiculous. Told "10 more minutes" 3 times then told "maybe 20 more" with people around me complaining they've been waiting 2 hours and have been told similar. Members pay to receive much better quality, and more respectful, service. read more

I appreciate having a managed care plan with facilities where all of the services are in one place. The staff in the towson office are professional and skilled and the office is well organised. It's relatively easy to get appointments and the advice nurse line is excellent. It's also very affordable. read more

The MOST USELESS Kaiser pharmacy ever! Waited for more than an hour for meds that cannot be prepared! Do not ever go here!

This is madness, I fill my prescription to 3701 Broadway, I wait half an hour there, then they tell me they transferred it over to the main pharmacy at 3600 Broadway. So I go to main pharmacy. The line is absolute mayhem, it bends around 2 corners, I count 40-50 people in line. So I wait 1.5 hrs then I get told my medication is out of stock! And I just missed the cut off line for ordering so I have to wait 2 more days! this is crazy I have an eye infection and my vision is getting blurry day by day. Kaiser system is messed up! The Pharmacist outright lied to me on Sunday, May 29, 2022. I lost my vital blood pressure pills and was two weeks short. He said he'll give me 5 days. So waited for a text, over two hours, and then it said the order was too soon! They knew this and were the reason I waited in their long line to override it! So I came in after hours to complain and had to argue with Angelic Tan to get them. Finally, she said ok with the night pharmacist but it was another two to three hours. But she said I cannot leave and had to wait along with other people while she just continue to help the long line of people. After two hours I complained after standing in that long line for another hour to see if it was ready. She said no. I said the front doors of the hospital is open so why couldn't I leave? She said ok she will page me. Why didn't she say that in the first place? And when you receive the text you have to wait in an hour or so long line to pick it up. Kaiser Pharmacy just sucks!!!!! They lie and don't care about their members. They are a rogue unit of the good care you get at Kaiser. A fellow I was standing with is upset too and will start a petition.
