The pharmacist told me they couldn't be bothered to check if the medication I was picking up had ingredients in it that would cause me to have anaphylaxis. I was told to take Benadryl if I experienced a reaction. Anaphylaxis cannot be stopped by Benadryl!! Completely negligent advice. This place is the absolute worst. Clearly, they are uneducated and should not be dispensing medicine. They're going to get someone killed. . And the way they speak to customers is awful and rude. I see a lawsuit incoming. Worst pharmacy ever! The uncaring, sadistic and inept staff and management are going to kill someone. I've shopped here over 50 years, and since Amy has run the pharmacy I've seen it devolve into lawless chaos with truly shocking actions and HIPAA violations by staff. It's despicable these haughty heartless psychos with doctorates don't understand deadly withdrawals and literary refuse service whenever they feel like it, selfishly choosing laziness, incompetence, hostility and negligence instead. It's like pulling teeth dealing with any of these idiots; they need to be pressed and argued with in order to get your prescribed pills. The continual denials I've experienced here are in blatant violation of law clause BPC 688, and they are attempting to use "Corresponding Responsibility" flags to do it, though not a single item on that California Pharmacy Boards list applies to me, who has used these very common drugs for years, same doctor, same CVS pharmacy, a full decade. I have often been treated and lectured like an addict and criminal for trying to obtain drugs at my regular refill times, with many employees absolutely refusing to process my doctors legal, valid escript-exempt faxes, which have been sent to these morons the same way, from and to the same place, for ten years straight. These meds cannot simply be stopped; my body is totally addicted because I've used them so long, and even missing one dose can cause my blood pressure to go as high as 180/120, my arms to go numb, with nonstop puking and dizziness, putting me at risk for a heart attack. I've often been unable to even drive myself home or work, several days straight. My doctor has even called them countless times, asking "Why aren't you filling my patients prescriptions?" They jumped for him, but to me they are truly rude, nasty, condescending and ignorant. Hana and Mike are their best, but manager Amy and pharmacist Amanda are especially out of control, but nobody in the company seems to care whatsoever that they are risking lives on a daily basis with their dangerous "can't be bothered" attitude. They love to keep pointing fingers at me and my doctors office, so then why is it the pharmacy I've used instead this past 8 months I haven't had a single issue with, they always have my orders ready on time and have never questioned my physicians faxes, plus, I pay $9 instead of $300 for a months supply of my most expensive med? When I finally made an official corporate complaint, I was referred to CVS District Leader Daria, who could not have been less helpful or empathetic. She absolutely took the side of her employees, refused 5 times to give me her email then provided one that didn't exist, and said that "faxes need to be done a certain way," so Amy has to handle them. My doctor always sends my prescriptions midday - during Amy's shift - so why is it literally never ready when I come in 8 hours later only to be told "We haven't heard from your doctor," which is always untrue once they actually check their faxes? Seems that Amy deliberately ignores my doctors transmissions, leaving them untouched when she clocks out, and for some reason the other pharmacists who make $70 an hour and up don't know how to process an escript exempt order sent the same way ten years in a row. When I attempted to resolve this issue with her over the phone, then, in person, I was, in clearly punitive retaliation, trespassed from the store, the cops were even called (risking my life and well-being, again) even though I said several times, "I'm leaving." They even tried to serve me with a bogus restraining order when I never threatened anyone and didn't even raise my voice. Amy called my doctor saying they wouldn't accept prescriptions for me any longer, and, one of their employees even stalked my social media for three days straight and, when questioned in a direct message, said she was the police. I have a screenshot of that. Impersonation of law enforcement is a serious crime, and that offense is a misdemeanor which carries a penalty of up to one year in jail. After shockingly unprofessional and unacceptable behavior by Daria I was escalated to some dude named Joe, who was a bit nicer but really did nothing except read the "Corresponding Responsibility" list to me, which I literally had in my hand and had submitted with my complaint. He talked right over me when I tried to say I've read what he's reading to me no less than a dozen times, plus 150 pages of pharmaceutical law. Due to rampant negligence and malpractice, CVS has thousands of disgruntled victims, tons of lawsuits, an F rating and over 400 pages of complaints with the Better Business Bureau. And on Yelp, their average number of stars for all westside Los Angeles locations is only one star, the worst you can get, with tons of upset patients stating they wish they could leave zero. read more

I came to the CVS with my babies and toddler in hand. They had boarded up the drop off area with cork board so weird, so ugly. Where am I. Is that necessary anyhow shout out to the SHADY PHARMACIST LAUREN. You literally saw me go from line to line with my kids for almost an hour at 10am to get my prescription and you told me to come back before closing I knew you were lying so around 4pm I called into CVS to see if my prescription was ready to be picked up and the system told me it would be ready on Sunday! Wow Thank you Lauren the shady pharmacist. What a nice human being you are. You literally saw that I'm a mother with children and I had already been there for probably an hour just waiting in line to get to the correct window. All to talk to a SHADY pharmacist like you. I really dislike people who think they are slick and can get away with lying. I called in again to the pharmacy and guess who answered the phone the shady pharmacist Lauren when I told her you told me my medication would be ready before 6pm now it's saying tomorrow she quickly again thinking she's so slick said 'oh it went into the queue I'll have it ready for you.' Wow thanks you just counted 30 pills and put them in a bottle. Is that what they gave you a doctorate for? Common human curtesy is hard to come by these days. read more

This is a fine drugstore and a fine pharmacy but I wanted to write about what happened today. I realized in the afternoon that I had lost my wallet yesterday afternoon. I called the store and they had it in their lost & found. What a relief! I just picked it up with all the contents intact, including cash and credit cards. I must have left the wallet on the pharmacy counter so it is the personnel there and in the drugstore that must be commended for their honesty and the best business practices. Thank you!!! read more

Three times I tried to get through to the front desk for the manager and the phone literally rang for 10 minutes with no voicemail and no one picking up. I understand that most CVS pharmacies have barely two stars due to their poor customer service but this branch in my opinion is the worst. And I am just referring to the people at the pharmacy section and not the entire store. Don't these people have a regional or district manager to answer to ? The worst CVS I've ever been! And while i could walk there, since is a few blocks from my house, I'll drive to SM just so I don't have to deal with the Pacific Palisades staff. I had problems there many times with the pharmacy ( ex: didn't wanna take me in for a walk-in flu shot, even when their website says to do so!), with the staff while asking for hep, and specially with the picture department (many times I sent pictures through their online system, got a email back and the pictures were not done! One time, they did the same pictures 4x and blame me, for sending multiple orders, which I didn't). And while one of their manager really tries to help, there is another one, that is rude as fuc*. read more

There's nothing quite like waiting in line for 10 minutes just to be told the prescription-- which you got a confirmation for via text FROM the pharmacy the night before-- just "isn't here." I'd already gone days without it so of course I stood there and cried. So fun. It had gone through fine on my Doc's end and I had the confirmation texts from CVS to prove it was there. I'd already had issues with them for under filling a controlled medication a few months back which resulted in me not having my meds for over a week. They had claimed it wasn't their fault and I had believed them. Now I'm pretty sure they're just incompetent. I explained that it's not as simple as picking up the phone and calling my doctor. I get my prescription through an app service with no number to call. So I just had to send an email and wait and wait and wait. Sufficed to say I will not be going back here ever again. read more

Edith: Who's the patient. The time it took for this back and forth, I would have been done calling in the prescriptions and she would have moved on to the next caller. So if you ever wonder why they take so long to answer, it's because they are too busy being snarky and passive aggressive. I am assuming CVS does not record their calls for quality checks because if they did, they would have had a major turn over long ago. Or, maybe pharmacists arent required to sign a code of conduct and there is no one to reprimand them for their behavior. read more

This is the worst CVS I've ever been to and its in beautiful Pacific Palisades. It makes no sense. None of the people that work there are professional helpful or nice. And there are boxes piled up all over the pharmacy and photo section, and throughout the store. It looks like a hoarder manages the store. We always go to the Malibu location even though it's 20 minutes away just because it's nice and clean and organized. Pacific Palisades deserves better than this. I wish I could say anything good about this CVS, but I can't. at this point I usually call my prescriptions in at the CVS closer to where I work so I don't have to deal with this circus. Is horrendously managed and it takes forever to get prescriptions filled. Out on the floor it's impossible to get someone to help you. It's a shame because we really need this branch. Update: AFTER writing this review , after coming back 4 times, they filled the prescription and were ringing me up. A young pharmacist walked out and said to her co-workers "bye! I'm going to lunch". About 20 seconds after she walked out the woman at the register informed me that that woman was the only person licensed to do the required consultation. Therefore, they could not sell me the medicine. I told him to catch her quickly. They said they can't. I said can you call her cell phone and ask her to turn around. They said no. they told me to get the store manager. I got the store manager and he simply had no idea how the pharmacy section of his store worked. He asked them "can't you just sell it to him? He's been here four times." They told him they can't. An amazing experience. I will never EVER be back.
