The pharmacy is terrible. Rude, apathetic and nasty staff. SLOW. Never can get in and out without some stupid hiccup with either their computer system, a long line or getting the run around from a person who hates life. It's like going to the DMV. read more

ZERO star all the way. This place is three blocks away from us. We were with my friend and his wife and ladies decided to walk to this store and purchase a few items. By the time we arrived, my friend's wife asked an employee to use the restroom quickly. This employee said bathrooms are closed. Her husband expressed to the employee that she has a certain medical condition that requires her to use the bathroom soon. The employee sent a radio message to the front desk while we were listening. Someone at the other end said "closed and not opening". We were very surprised to hear that. This employee saw that and walked to the front counter while my buddy and I decided to follow so we can express the importance. We stayed a few steps back but when we saw the strange behavior of a manager and a few employees, my friend decided to explain himself how important it was for them to open the restroom. The manager said we don't have the key. We obviously did not believe that. He told her this was important and she had a medical condition that required her to use the bathroom immediately, but this manager turned around and said " bathrooms are only open 9 to 5". One lie on top of another. We had to rush her cross the street to the restaurant which accommodated her immediately. Shame on this store's manager. This was an unbelievable experience. Just when I was writing this review, I checked other reviews with so many one stars, and realized that these people at CVS do not even care to address the issue and respond. My buddy and I will take this further with their corporate office. Shame on them. read more

The store is ok. The pharmacy is the worst. I've been back three times in two days about the same issue. And tonight there are 10 people in line and one person working the register and another doing something else (Edit: she was filling Rx but didn't seem to have enough of a lot of medications to do so). When I was here earlier they were missing someone's prescription. And now some woman's prescriptions have gone missing. I switched to another pharmacy but my fiancé decided he would stay with CVS but after this week he's switching too. And I think half the line is switching too. It's an issue of understaffing and just a lot of confusion as well. The line is about to revolt as I'm writing this and we may have taken over the pharmacy by the time you're reading this. There's also the constant robotic voice of "two pharmacy calls" over and over. Update (ten minutes later): Still in line. I've talked to the manager now and he said it's because no one wants to work here because CVS doesn't pay enough to pharmacy staff to drive all the way out here. Also the pharmacist made an announcement for everyone to manage their expectations. And told someone taking a picture of the line we can't take a picture of the pharmacy. We're now second in line. Current customer was notified his Rx was here and it wasn't here. He's not happy. Line count: 11 Update: I now know what half the line does for work and I'm considering asking several people to be at our wedding next month. Final update: Third times a charm! Our issue was resolved. I don't want to be at that pharmacy at 10:00 when they close and that crowd goes all Hunger Games on the overworked pharmacy staff. Also in an attempt to help multiple people at once and people waiting for mistakes to be fixed, and the loud voices because let's face it you're going to be annoyed if you waited an hour and your stuff isn't there, I think the pharmacy should be worried about HIPAA violations as I heard at least several date of births and prescriptions today during my two trips. In addition, there was one gentleman who took all this in stride and when he got to front of the line and they only had 14 of his pills he said he'd come back tomorrow very politely. read more

My secret (not any more) place to buy Panama Jack UV-protected baseball caps. In fact I've been coming to this location for years - it used to be a Sav-On, but now that CVS is taking over the world of course they got this spot, too. Yesterday I found a yellow cap adorned with embroidered yellow palm trees, a must-have, haha! Spring is just around the corner, after all. It was the last one in stock in that color, and looked like it had been stepped on. It was a bit dirty, priced at $15.99. The manager was very friendly when I inquired about a discount & offered me 10%....hardly worth the effort so I declined & just bought the thing as is. She explained that the store gets a full credit on anything they send back to the manufacturer..... OK, I understand that business perspective....but what about customer satisfaction? I do like this well-stocked store, thank goodness the inventory hasn't changed much over the years. And I'll keep coming back when in the area. Only 3 stars for CVS, adding one star for the Panama Jack selections. I wasn't able to clean off the footprint, btw, so my bright new spring cap is.....seasoned. I'm happy with their food and beverage selection ! So many options; healthy ones even, unusual for a pharmacy I think. Grabbed some interesting dill pickle chips that are gmo free, never heard of them before. This CVS is way bigger on the inside than it seems, and there's hardly ever a line (and it moves quickly if there is) but expect to wait a bit at the pharmacy on busy days like weekends. read more

The pharmacy has the worst customer service ! Last week I was told to pick up medication the next day when I came in they said it wasn't ready come back another day I waited two days came back today and they said it wasn't ready and the rate wasn't what was quoted it was considerably more. I had to wait another ha;lf hour until it was done. each time I'm given reams of paper receipt for coupons I can't use. I told them they should email receipt and not waste paper. Pharmacy is consistently above capacity. Lines may only be 4 or 5 people long but can take 10 minutes to clear. During busy times, pharmacy staff don't pick up phone, so you have to go to store to ask for your prescription to be filled, then come back later to pick up. Have received text messages that my prescription is ready and it isn't DAYS later. You just have to go to the store, wait in line so you can ask to then wait for your meds to be filled. I imagine CVS does this for two reasons: 1. Fewer filled/not purchased meds, 2. Get customers to browse store This scam screws customers for their time for the benefit of the store, which is a pretty cynical use of a purported health store. read more

They gave me expired medication that I need to survive (for my asthma) and then would not swap it out or even give a refund. They only offered to call my doctor and fill it if he gave me another prescription. They were rude as can be. This should be illegal. CHECK THE EXPIRATION DATES BEFORE YOU PURCHASE THE MEDICINE FROM THEM!!!! Better yet- avoid this pharmacy and go elsewhere. read more

If you have ANY choice please do not use this pharmacy. I tried to call 20 mins early to ask my scrips to be expedited. I waited on hold for 20 mins and then was told 15-20 mins. Waited 25 mins in store to be told there was one more that would be 5 mins. 15 mins later I was told the pharmacist was on lunch break. After they knew I had been in store for 40 mins and 20 more on the phone, NO ONE bothered to tell me the pharmacist had gone on lunch break. I wasted an hour of my time in store while they knew I was waiting and repeatedly gave me false timing info. I try desperately not to be a "Karen" and be understanding to a fault. But this was just next level incredibly rude and disrespectful. I'm floored by the service I received today. Having pretty serious health issues, I've stuck with cvs for the I hours but after repeated negative experiences this is the final straw. The worst pharmacy I've ever experienced. Almost every time I've gone there they don't have the prescriptions ready, have a horrible attitude, and are very poor communicators. I ordered a prescription at 3 PM, get in at 6 PM to pick it up; it's not ready. I ask how long it will be, they say 30-60 minutes. I leave and come back 2 hours later, not only is it not ready, but they then tell me they can only fill half of it. And every single person who works there acts like they hate your and their lives. This is without a doubt the most poorly run pharmacy I have ever encountered. Misplaced prescriptions, pill errors, 45 minute waits on hold on the phone, hour waits in line at the pharmacy, exorbitant prices (price check with your other local pharmacies!), and rude and unhelpful pharmacists and assistants. I've used this pharmacy for over 6 years because of convenience, but the incompetence has finally driven me to another pharmacy a bit further away and I've never been happier. read more

I see in the field of one-star reviews below that someone actually demanded to speak with the manager and was told that CVS will not pay a living wage for anyone to work at this location and live anywhere near this pharmacy. So shame on CVS corporate!! It really lowers my opinion of the CVS brand. A living wage is critical to health for the pharmacy employee and for the community that depends on this pharmacy. The pharmacists who work here are often as busy as it gets, but that doesn't compromise their attention to your care and excellent service. I've been coming here weekly for months as I've been very ill and unable to work (plus, I've been coming here for years otherwise). By now most of the pharmacists and staff recognize me by name and basically we're all buddies. The whole team is kind and compassionate and they work as fast as they can. Sure, sometimes there is a long line (and a thousand people on the phone) and sometimes crabby customers get impatient and upset, but they're doing the best they can, and, if you're nice to them, they will help you and brighten your day. The world could use some more good in it. The pharmacists here ARE great. I feel it's the poor attitude of spoiled Palisadians who bring everyone down. Thus their currently dismal Yelp rating. Recognize they are busy, be patient, shop while you wait, or come in late or early when they're not busy at all, and, above all, BE NICE. P.S. DOWNLOAD THE APP! You can control all of your prescription refills there and then you don't have to call in at all. They text you when your Rx is ready. This is hands down the worst CVS I ever been. The pharmacy lady giving shots is simply the rudest. She should never be allowed to interact with customers. By the looks of it, they do what the hell they like. There is zero accountability. My children were mortified when she started yelling at me at the top of her voice because I simply said I wish they wouldn't give us the wrong information over the phone. And they were upset with the way she was talking to customers as soon as we arrived at the pharmacy, as she was so standoffish clearly looking for a fight. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. The pharmacy at this location is consistently terrible. They are always understaffed which is not their fault but the attitude is poor, they are unsympathetic, uninformed and unhelpful. I attempted to get a Covid booster at this location. There was no one waiting and nobody behind the counter getting a shot and they told me they were "full". The woman was not helpful in the slightest. I told her there was no one waiting in line and she just kept repeating the same robotic script over and over. When I went through the checkout line, The wait was so long and the one employee was chatting with a customer while several people waited in line. I will go out of my way to avoid this CVS location. Pharmacies in general should be very accommodating when it comes to getting vaccinated, not ill-equipped and inept. My previous Covid vaccine was administered at Walgreens. This is one of those times that I wish I could award 0 stars to a review. This last time, even though my prescription had already been called in, I had to wait as about 10 other people picked up their prescriptions. Meanwhile, the pharmacist filled at least 2 dozen other prescriptions, none of which were for those actually at the store. In the past, even with few customers, it has taken over an hour to get my prescriptions which had already been phoned in. Frequently I have had to ask my doctor's office to resend the prescription when they could not find it. It's as if they were deliberately trying to hassle their customers. Add to that their robo calls that come over and over again to my phone announcing that my prescription is ready after I have already picked it up or before it is actually ready, causing me to wait at the store for 1 hour plus. read more

A "1" is generous I am a physician. 3 times in the last 6 weeks I have sent online scripts to the pharmacy. Each time at least 4 hours lapsed before I or someone else when to pick up the prescription-all 3 times we were told that the prescription had not been processed, but would be ready in 20 minutes and that I could shop while waiting. There was only attendant handling the line of people waiting, no less than 3 and as many as 10 people in line at a time. I do not blame the staff, but rather management for not hiring or managing their staff. This was not a single event. Also count of pills has been incorrect. Finally, when I went to write this review, it appears I am not alone. I cannot in good conscience send my patients to this pharmacy. read more

Our choice is very limited here in the Palisades. There is certainly no Target for miles and miles. This is the place for knick knacks and household goods. I frequent it as do most of the Palisades residents (based on the parking at times). Overall I have had only positive experiences here. The employees are friendly enough and they have most of the things that I need. read more

Sometimes you are shocked how poorly managed something is, this Pharmacy is one of those cases. I have hands down never seen a more unorganized system of management ever in my entire life. I get calls for three days saying my medication is ready, when I come to pick it up they said it would be 1 1/2 hours. This is an embarrassment to CVS, IMO. read more

This place represents many firsts for me. I bought my fist pack of cigarettes here when I was 15, also my first box of condoms and first bottle of whisky. It's an interesting place, I once saw Tom Petty making out with an older blonde lady here in the aisles. They are notorious for their nutty Entitled, rich, Caucasian clientele from the area. The people who work here are usually really cool. One time I wanted to fill my prescription of Vicodin after a root canal and they mistakenly gave me Viagra I had to call my dentist after 4 hours.... We all make mistakes. It's the only major chain store of it's kind within a 20 minute radius. I dig the place, thanks for the memories. I can understand how the pharmacy could be frustrating as their lines are long, but it sure beats driving out of the area. read more

I'm an optimist who goes with the flow, but today I hit a wall of frustration that calls for action, so here is my first negative review. If you have a choice, DO NOT FILL YOUR RX's at CVS. Go ANYWHERE ELSE. It's not the employees who are truly at fault. It's corporate. CVS is consistently, woefully, understaffed and overwhelmed. A quick search of 'CVS horror stories' leads you down a rabbit hole of complaints from pharmacist technicians working for far below average pay, without breaks or lunches as well. That seems unbelievable, right? Peoples lives are at stake; and it's counter intuitive not to care for and pay the people who are taking care of people, a fair living wage. Let's also not forget that becoming a pharmacist is grueling and requires just as much education, student loans, and intern hoop jumping as any other profession. How does CVS get away with this here, in California where we have some notoriously stringent labour laws? My child has been very sick, in and out of hospitals for nearly three years. Even in the best circumstances, to watch someone you love suffer is difficult, but we know life is fragile and suffering is par for the course. So you deal with it... It gets a thousand percent tougher when you desperately need your prescription (that keeps your child alive, and the pharmacist knows this) and you must relentlessly devote the next month trying to pick it up to no avail and without a sincere apology. To their credit, when I finally lost my cool, in that Shirley MacLaine moment today, they gave me enough to get through the weekend. She handed it to me with zero empathy, and although I know she is also not having the time of her life, I too am dealing with a lot, yet still treated her with respect and compassion. Our doctor has advised/begged me to switch to another pharmacy, as acquiring meds there has always been an issue, but this last month has TAKEN THE CAKE. Everytime I walk into this Pharmacy, I wished I'd remembered to change my pharmacy. It is run by people who seem overwhelmed, backed-up and not in power to make any decisions to improve efficiency. I have even been notified of a prescription being ready and gone in to find it was not. A time-wasting pharmacy for people who like investing their time in their ailments. I went in this morning and was told they needed to call the Doctor to correct the strength of antibiotics. I then called the Doctor as well to have her call the Pharmacy to make sure it was straightened out. An hour later the Doctor's office called to say that the Pharmacy had not called yet, and that in spite of numerous calls to the Pharmacy, no one picked up. I am currently on hold with the Pharmacy. When I was there, I heard the phone ringing off the hook and not one staff member was available to answer those phone calls. I suspect right now I am another one of those unanswered calls. read more

I have lived in Pacific Palisades for 17 years and visit this store once a month. This week I visited the rest room for the first time and was totally shocked at how disgusting it was. I hate to think that the people who are preparing my medicine consider these unsanitary conditions acceptable. Most old gas stations are more sanitary that this dump. The pharmacists here tend to be young, courteous and helpful. I think it may be a training facility for CVS. Most of the staff are helpful and the selection is good. If CVS would simply paint, tile and clean the rest room on a regular basis I would be happy to revise my Yelp score. If this store represents the standard of sanitation for all CVS stores...there will be more poor reviews to follow. Every time I call the pharmacy I am put on hold for at least 15 minutes. Then, someone answers to ask what i am calling about, and I am immediately put back on hold for the same amount of time or longer. It shouldn't take me an hour and a half to find out if my prescription has any refills left. PLUS: They have 1 song on their hold system. On repeat. With the quality of something that was recorded off the radio onto a tape deck and then played into their phone system. They claim prescriptions are ready when they are not, leading to extra wait time on top of the consistently terrible lines. I would say just the pharmacy is the problem, but I've had problems with the standard staff as well. When purchasing condoms one night (as a confident responsible adult woman) the item wouldn't ring up correctly. Instead of asking for a price check or whatever, the lady helping me started yelling the "Trojan Man" theme song as she danced over to another associate in front of the packed store. Had I been fine with the purchase before, I was totally humiliated by the time I slunk out the door. read more
