Switched to CVS Pharmacy in South Reno last year after a couple of years of frustration with long waits and marginal service at the neighboring Walgreens. Wish I would've switched sooner! This CVS has much more staff, better customer service and shorter wait times. Very glad I made the move to CVS Pharmacy. read more

In a lot if pain come by the store to get my prescription filled at 8pm. They close at 9 and I am told they may be able to get it done by then, but have people ahead of me they need to fill. I understand and say they will be available the next day. Get a call in the morning around 9 saying they have my prescription and when would I like to pick them up. I say as soon as they are available. They state 11:15 they will be done. Show up at 11:30 they are still not done and end up having to wait over 30 minutes to get them. Seems disorganized as there were a couple others in front of me who also had to wait. Not impressed at all!! read more

I brought a hand written prescription to this pharmacy and the pharmacist Nazani refused to fill it because I had "never received it there before". My doctor even called and couldn't make sense with her. She refused him to call in the Rx and accused me of Rx fraud. I will be filling my prescriptions elsewhere from now on read more

Coming here for years and always very professional and well staffed. Had an issue with my insurance company and they were very helpful in trying to rectify the problem. They could have resisted and made it difficult but they went the extra mile to help me resolve the issue. They are always friendly with good customer service. Thank you! read more

I am so done with this pharmacy and will move elsewhere. I am constantly waiting for flu shots when we were the only ones there at that time. Also there system is flawed. I wanted to check if I ever got the pneumonia vaccine and was told they could not check since they are separate from the Minute Clinic. She told me I could check once in the room as they have a computer there. I had to pay when called and told the cashier "how can I pay when I don't know if I need the additional vaccine?" She told me she could check and went across the room to another spot and a computer there and came back and said "yes, you need it". Now I had to do additional paperwork, and get that one lined up to be given which took another 15 minutes on top of the 45 minutes we were there waiting for them to not be busy. My husband also needed prescription filled and for two eye drops with was $460, told it was not covered by insurance and this was for eye surgery. This seems to happen often here, I get told they are not covered and we are on a drug plan. We called doctor and he set him up with one's that would only cost $130 together so he went that route. How do I know they are being accurate? I was filling ones for my 97 year old mother and was told the same thing. And they told me that was the price for co-pay, I shudder to think what full price was like. This pharmacy is always swamped and a long wait. They are short-handed all the time. And I watch them run around willy nilly trying to get things right. It makes me take pause to get any prescription filled at this kind of chaotic place. I just wonder how many errors they make. The one guy filling them today had to be 80 years old and scattered and to think he gave me two vaccines today in a rush. I kept asking him if they were the right ones and he said yes. Scary way to run a very serious business. Shame on the manager, shame on CVS for keeping this location short-staffed. It is so bad and everyone is so rude there that I will have to move to Walgreen's and give them a try. No customer is going to put up with this place. read more

This is by far the worst pharmacy I have ever used. I went there today and asked for help with some cough syrup and the Pharmacist told me it'll be a bit. I waited and waited (about 15 minutes) in the cough syrup section and she just kept waiting on other people. I understand prescriptions are more important, but how rude to do this to somebody. I just left and went over to Walgreens and received wonderful assistance right away. Think twice before going to this pharmacy. read more

The pharmacy has the worst customer service I have seen in any pharmacy in Reno. The Pharmacist should be fired! There are so many choices in pharmacies pick one that is here to help. I have had nothing but issues with the South Virginia location the one by Damonte Ranch. The latest issue my wife and I scheduled a COVID test and were there promptly for our appointment at the drive through. The pharmcy tech must have taken 30-45 minutes to finally get through our paperwork and tests. There were at least 5 vehicles waiting behind us. Once we finished our test the pharmacy tech said you will receive your results within 2 hours after 4 hours I called to find out whats going on. The first time I called I waited 30 minutes then I finally hung up. Called back, this time reached someone who said they were going to transfer me only to hang up on me ---when I finally reached someone who said they were the pharmacist -- he told me they needed to put in on their machine and it could take up to 24 hours. No where on their site does it say 24 hours for a rapid test. I am calling them back as I have not received anything yet and have already been on hold for 20 minutes. GO to Smiths, CVS, or Walmart -- finally go ahold of them they told me to come back and they would give me a hard copy... WTF read more

I went to pick up my husband script for toradol. And the pharmacist didn't know how to put in my insurance card information so I was charged the full $36. She then said that insurance doesn't even cover toradol anyways. That statement may work for non healthcare works but I'm a nurse and my husband is a doctor so I know that my insurance will cover some of the cost. If that's what you train your pharmacist to tell your customers because they aren't tech savvy and obviously don't know how to put in an insurance card number than I feel sorry for your customer because they are being lied to purely because the pharmacist doesn't know how to enter an insurance number or because she's too lazy to ask for help. And I think that's a terrible mentality to have especially with how people can't really afford their medications now with all the lay off in America. What also bothered me is that she was too lazy to enter my cvs card number to give me my points and I spent over $100 that day. I've worked in retail for 7 years and in the hospital for 7 years and they both require good customer service. If I've already rung up a transaction and the customer request to have their membership number added it takes maybe 2 min and maybe I'll have to ring everything up again but I'm happy to take the time and do it because I know that the number one reason for customer retention is giving them their points so they can come back and use them. And when my patients ask me for something that may take extra time I still do it because I know that my patients can choose to go to any hospital, it's about making sure that all their needs are met so that they will continue to choose our hospital. I'm disappointed at how you train your workers to be so lazy and to not go the extra mile for your customers especially during this pandemic. I'm annoyed that I pay $5 for the cvs membership every month only to not have it used because your employees are too lazy to enter the number after they have already rung everything up. read more

Over the last year, CVS on Damonte Ranch Parkway went from a very sound business to a horrible experience. Always a VERY long wait. I waited 25 minutes in the drive-thru today, got frustrated and backed out only to go inside and find 4 people standing in line. I left. This was at 6 pm. I have never written a review on Yelp and I've had it for years. That should show just how awful the service was. Urgent care called in a prescription at 8am this morning for 2 prescriptions. I called at 12 to get an update and it said one wouldn't be ready till tomorrow (an inhaler I need today). They said they didn't have it in stock AFTER I called to check. I asked them to send it to another location. They sent it to steamboat. I had to go to 2 different CVS locations within 2 miles of each other and it took me over an hour because the one on damonte took forever. I was at the window for over 30 minutes. The girl took my new insurance card and left it on the counter and walked away with the phone still on and I saw her just laughing and talking with people in the back. When I finally made eye contact she came over and started entering information and then left again to joke around with her coworkers. I will never go to CVS again . The damonte location is exceptionally horrible... every single time. read more

Erika is the pharmacist at this store! How do I know you may ask? She has introduced herself to me, is always taking extra care of me, and always remembers my name. There also is an amazing pharmacy tech, amii that goes above and beyond to take care of customers. I have some reoccurring prescriptions I pick up, and I am greeted my name, and feel very welcome and appreciated. The stupidity just gets worse with each visit. First I had to deal with them messing up my prescription. The next visit they handled the insurance incorrectly and created a nightmare to fix. The most recent string of events ... I was called to renew my prescription and said yes and clarified that it was correct with the person that called. Then I showed up to get the prescription after I received a text saying it was ready. When I arrived they asked me to wait 15 minutes because it wasn't actually ready. Then I received another email saying that the prescription was ready and I went back the next day. When I arrived they said that I didn't have insurance. I let them know that I've been getting prescriptions from them every month for years and that my insurance hadn't changed. They said I would have to wait 15 minutes for them to process my insurance and needed my card, even though nothing had changed. I have my 4 kids in the car so I told them that this was ridiculous and I would have to come back later. So I sent my wife to pick it up. When she got there they had filled the wrong prescription (which we learned after they asked for $465 saying it wasn't covered). Needless to say I will be transferring my prescription to somewhere else. I only wrote half the story because the rest would have just been repetitive. Save yourself some time and fill your prescriptions somewhere that actually cares about their service and how they would treat you. read more

This pharmacy staff was once a pretty professional bunch, but service has steadily declined over the past several months to the point where I will no longer use them....or any other CVS for that matter. Jill, in particular, was unnecessarily rude and incredibly unhelpful. It would have been easy for her to smile while politely explaining why they no longer have my info on file, but sadly, she opted for a robotic and condescending approach. Not worth the hassle and frustration for sure. Will be taking my business to Costco.....cheaper MUCH friendlier service. read more

Their pharmacy prices are significantly higher than any of the surrounding pharmacies. They submitted the wrong insurance information even after I moved my prescription to a different pharmacy, which was a huge hassle to fix. I recommend Raley's or even Walmart over this CVS. read more

I have used Costco, Walgreens, Smith's and a few other pharmacies over the past year or two filling my 8 prescriptions per month. I have found CVS to be very helpful for several reasons. I am somewhat disabled and made a request for CVS to get a motorized scooter that I could use when I shop. It took a couple of months, but they were very kind, helpful and responsive, and got the scooter I requested at a fairly expensive cost to them. I also found an employee named Logan who works in their pharmacy, to be consistently helpful and kind, and has gone out of his way a number of times helping me get my scripts filled. (CVS at Damonte and Virginia - Reno) Also, I have found their prescription prices to be more reasonable than other places. I'm very pleased with their sales help, particularly Mary, who is always very willing to help finding any items and showing you where to locate them. Overall, a great retail store !! Clean, well stocked and friendly personnel. read more
