Worst pharmacy experience time and time again. Rude staff, long waits for medication called in a day ago (pharmacist hadn't even started to fill it)... Always call ahead to see if they've even started to fill your prescription. Otherwise you'll end up there and waiting at least an hour for the prescription. Difficult to even get a pharmacy staff on the phone. If this was a one-time issue, I'd let it slide. Since it is constant, I recommend transferring your prescriptions to another pharmacy. I've also noticed the cost of medications here is significantly different for the same prescription/medication at Walgreens... or other local pharmacies. When we discovered this, we went back to get the correct medication and , when I asked how this happened, he became immediately irritated by the question and replied, "wrong medication, sorry- that's it." I don't know what the issue was, but the pharmacist, Shruti was short, curt, and rude from the beginning. She talked down to me as if I were a child she was scolding. Look I get it, working in customer service is not an easy job at times but with that said, if that is NOT your forte, it should not be something one should go into. I work in the customer service and I HAVE NEVER treated anyone the way she was with me, even if a customer is rude with me. How she still has a job with CVS let alone anywhere else. Zero stars! Minus 5 stars!! Horrible trying to get an emergency prescription filled Saturday night. My doctor had to send and re-send by computer, but they claimed not to receive it. The doctor's calls went unanswered as the only pharmacist was yakking on the phone. Only after wild gesturing from me did she finally get back to work. She claimed they had 10 phone lines and that no messages had been left. My doctor told me it's often like that there on Saturday night -- basically they refuse to fill the prescription until you're beside yourself. Not funny when the patient is spiking a fever and may have to go to the ER if the antibiotic doesn't arrive quickly. read more

When I reached the desk, three different employees were unable to get me into their computer system. No one wanted my confirmation number. My kids and I just had the best time at CVS getting flu shots and then shopping for incidentals. Princess (practitioner at the minute clinic) has an amazing bedside manner and made my kids feel comfortable getting their shots. Afterwards we bought some ice cream and the store was playing "Flashdance" on the radio, and the staff was singing and dancing (so were we). What a pleasant experience! We will be back. read more

This pharmacy has been a mess since before covid. Long lines, unfilled scripts, out of stock medicines, and very few pharm. assistants at counter. If I didn't live next to it I would never use the place. Please add pricing errors to the above list. Waiting in long lines where people are getting covid shots makes it even less appealing. My last script today had not been filled even though I was with the doc when he filled it electronically 24 hrs ago. If you try to call them, the phone is rarely answered except later in evening. In line today many customers were complaining and I promised the pharm tech I would give them an online review. Finally their rx refill call sysem is a mess. More than once it told me my rxs were there and when I showed up they were not available. I hoped that it would improve when it was purchased by aetna but no such luck. It is one of the few chains in the area that my insurance accepts. read more

I had surgery today and called CVS beforehand to confirm my anti-biotics and pain meds were ready for pickup. Woman on phone assured me they were. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. Aside from the long waits no matter what time of day you visit, the staff is harried and makes no effort to hide it from the customers. On multiple occasions, they have not contacted a doctor's office for a refill like they have said they would. They somehow have two profiles for my son, so every time I go in there to pick up something for him, they tell me there isn't anything. They don't know how to delete the extra profile (or can't be bothered). They also gave me the wrong dosage once. In short, avoid. read more

Be warned. Reservation for Minute Clinic means nothing. Had a reservation in advance to get an immunization shot. Tried entering confirmation number in their computer. Didn't recognize it. Physicians assistant or nurse or whoever the unhappy person working there said it doesn't matter anyway, just sign in because they see people in order of sign in, regardless if you have a reservation or not. Avoid at all costs. Staffing and communication problems. I made an appt for flu shot, then made a mistake and didn't sign in with minute clinic. Went to pharmacy. That mistake put me 10 min late for my scheduled flu shot. The appt was automatically cancelled, and there was no rememdy but to make another appt with their kiosk. No one present in the Minute Clinic to talk to or ask questions. Pharmacy team next door said they had no information about where people were next door. You can make an appt for another time or day with the computer; that was the only remedy. Waited half an hr in clinic to see if maybe someone was there. Nobody. It was my fault for not understanding the instructions to "find a kiosk in the Minute Clinic," but there was no grace period when I messed that up and it was deeply frustrating that there was no one to talk to. Also, in the past, I waited (with appts) more than half an hour for vaccines in an area with no seating. While pregnant. There are much better CVSs in the area; don't waste your time with this understaffed location. read more

This is by and far the WORST CVS on the planet... and I lived in Ohio for a period of time so I know what true desolation looks like. To be fair, the rest of the store is fine. However, the Pharmacy staff are so completely incompetent that, frankly, they should be sued for gross negligence. I've had prescriptions go missing, picked up by strangers, and have been shorted on the number of pills I was supposed to get. Most recently, I went a week without medication because I've had an automatic refill ( with 991 refills left, so its not like i ran out) and text alerts for a particular medication for over a year now, but for some reason this month CVS decided to stop doing both without warning. This is completely unacceptable behavior from people who are supposed to be there to support our health and are in charge of the (some, highly potent) chemicals we put into our bodies. There really should be a zero stars option for this place. P.S. Fab W. is an employee, not a customer at said CVS (notice how she vehemently swears she's a customer, but all she talks about is how horrible the customers mistreat the staff), so please don't buy into this whole rich and entitled, snooty customer bit she's trying to sell because whether you're a billionaire or homeless, your health needs to be treated with the gravity and respect it deserves. I'm sorry some customers are rude, that doesn't give employees the right to get back at them by messing with their meds. Fab W., you are right about one thing though, money can't by an education. Recently moved to the area and needed a closer pharmacy. Given the size of the pharmacy and number of persons working there I thought this would be a good choice. I brought my transfer prescription and was greeted by the male pharmacist. Very chatty and asked probably too many personal questions as he was typing in all the info. Thought everything went fine with the transfer, however days passed and I heard nothing. I decided to stop in thinking my prescription would be ready and when I went up to the counter they didn't have any record of receiving it. I provided the Safeway (Gaithersburg on Rt. 28 which is excellent) phone number as I didn't have the bottle on me and they ensured that they would fill it right away. After some confusion it was completed in the time it took me to go to Giant and pick up some groceries. I was surprised that my discount wasn't as good (prescription was twice as much) here but when I checked online the groceries stores provide a better discount for the medication. So I had two new prescriptions a couple weeks later and had decided to try the Giant in Potomac Village due to the reviews and because the discount was better. Headed there on a Friday am but the woman working the counter was extremely rude from the moment I walked up. She didn't want to accept the discount card and said I would need to sign up for theirs. I told her I wanted to know the pricing difference and she said it would take her at least 30 minutes to find that information. I took the prescription back and decided just to go back to CVS since the info was already in the system. I decided to fill one of the scripts after learning the other was going to be $280. I was told the one would be ready by 2pm. Two o'clock comes and no notification. Received a call at 10am the next day stating they did not have the medication in stock and would not receive it for another 3 days. I expressed my concern that the woman (Mercy) who told me it would be ready by 2pm was not able to tell me they didn't have it in stock. The woman I spoke to stated that it was odd that they were not able to get it in store that afternoon. I am not sure what is going on with the pharmacies in Potomac but I really do not want to have to drive back to Gaithersburg just to get my scripts filled by friendly personnel and in a timely manner. read more

If I could give it zero stars, I would. The Pharmacy is the worst we have experienced. Two recent visits are an example (don't ask me why we keep going back, but this was the last time). First, less than two month ago, I had a prescription that called for a 30 day supply of a anti-inflamitory medication, that was prescribed as two pills daily. The insurance would not authorize two pills a day, but would authorize a dose twice what was prescribed once a day. I asked the pharmacy to call the Dr., and get the prescription changed. It was mid afternoon, and the person behind the counter stated that they would call, and I could pick up the prescription the following morning. I asked that she call then, and she did not respond. I offered to call, and she stated they had to make the call, and they would, and the prescription would be ready the following morning. It was not a crisis, and the store is near our house, so I went home (giving up on trying to get the person behind the counter to be the least bit responsive or helpful), and came back the following day in the late morning. They had not called, and i was getting ready to go out of town. The person behind the counter (who was trying to be helpful) finally filled the prescription at the half dose for once a day, just to get me out of the store. Upon refill, I called the Dr. to make sure it was written correctly. All this for a 30 day supply of a generic, that cost me 34 cents! Second - today, my wife went in to the same pharmacy. The price they quoted for her allergy prescription was nearly 3X what it had been 3 months prior. My wife asked that they call the insurance to verify the pricing. The lady behind the counter stated that they had the insurance pricing, and that the price was correct, refusing to recheck. Her attitude was very indifferent - she could not be bothered. She was correct on the pricing, but her attitude was very poor. read more

I would in no way send someone here and only went today as I was coming home from a procedure. The absolute worst pharmacy I've ever been to. I keep having issues with them. I have a special program for an asthma medicine that works around my insurance to ensure I'm getting it at a lower price. My doctor filed everything the day of, CVS filed everything as well. When I came to pick it up... somehow they had a problem, "your insurance doesn't cover this".. Yea, I know.. that's why I gave you that program code.. "we don't know how to file this.. your doctor needs to file it with your insurance". Not true, my doctor had filed everything on their end, multiple times, just seems like CVS didn't want to honor it. I had an issue with this twice last year, the soonest being in December. My subscription says "4 refills before September of 2016"... yet I'm running into the same robotic responses from CVS. I told the pharmacist on the phone "I don't understand what the problem is, I understand it's not covered by my insurance, there should be a program on my account allowing me to get it. Why do you keep fucking this up?" He didn't like my language so he just repeated that it wasn't covered then decided to tell me I was not a doctor and was calling on a doctor's only line. "Call back on the patient's line"... Oh, so you mean the line I called in.. the one that's written on my subscription isn't for patients? Good to know. Besides this CVS being incapable of getting your subscriptions figured out, that "choose a time to pick it up" .. Yea, they'll fill it on their own time, not one you choose. I've never had a subscription ready by the time I've requested, and I've ALWAYS gone 2 hours or more.. late. Yup, I'm very tempted to find a new pharmacy, any suggestions? read more

I am armed with the discount coupons trying to make sure that I don't buy anything that is already discounted, because the coupon specifically states that it cannot be applied to discounted items. Of course it so happens that most of what I need is discounted already. I finally find something I need that is not discounted and go to pay. Turns out it is also discounted, although it is not shown on the price tag. Tough luck, says the cashier with studied indifference. I know I can't win, but I keep trying. I have even started buying things I don't need, just to be able to get that 20% off and beat them at their game. Long lines at the pharmacy where I have to go back to twice because they keep giving me generics without asking, prices higher than anywhere else (compare, I did), yet it is close to the Giant and I don't feel like shopping around. Do not trust this pharmacy. Twice within the last year they filled prescriptions incorrectly. The first, my infant son's acid reflux medication filled at the adult dosage! The second, the minute clinic nurse prescribed the wrong dosage for my own antibiotics at double the appropriate dosage.This pharmacy is dangerous. read more
