I stopped into CVS yesterday because my friend needed to grab some items. This CVS is located off of Fair Oaks Blvd and one of the remaining few left. They had a ton of Halloween items and candy - we perused for a bit and I grabbed some candy to take home. I do like that CVS has some items that you normally wouldn't find elsewhere - they had a super cute Hello Kitty stuffed animal that played music and danced. My only issues were that a lot of the Halloween items were pricy for a CVS and the store was also just grimy. I don't understand why CVS stores are like this - you can't have a dirty store and then charge more than Amazon for most of your items. Make it make sense. Staff were friendly and quick though. I'll only be back to this location if absolutely necessary. read more

Not a good place to shop if you have a list of items you need. Almost everything in the store is locked up, so I just left immediately. Getting all the stuff on my list would've required me to press the button for assistance like 12 times. Pointless to try and shop here unless you only need one or two things. read more

Predatory practices!!! My daughter came to get an essential prescription refilled but it had expired. The pharmacy called her doctor and the doctors office said they couldn't find her in the system. So what should happen next? Well I'll tell you since I work in healthcare - the pharmacist should have called again or told my daughter to call and demand that they fill her prescription because it's essential. Instead, the pharmacist told her "her only choice" was to see the Minute Clinic's" nurse practitioner, who charged her $150 for a medication that would have been $20 through her insurance! Minute clinic is NOT for someone with a Primary care physician and health insurance! Spoke to Felicia first, then the pharmacy manager Rika to let them know this is not ok! Shame on them! read more

I dropped off a paper script and they then spent two days failing to fill it saying they tried sending correspondence by fax to a medical office that doesn't have a fax. The pharmacy workers are ridiculously rude. My husband had been saying how rude the man is who works the drive up window. Today i went to pick up his Rx and it was a woman. Has she returned the prescription in the basket when I took it out? I noticed my card wasn't in there.She proceeded to tell me she put it in there. I looked everywhere outside and in my car. First of all, I don't like to give negative review. It takes time and energy to give bad review for some business, and that's the last thing I want to do. However, I encounter a bad and sub-par experience at this CVS location that I felt the need to speak up. Looking at the negative reviews here, I guess I'm not the only one. Tonight I went to this CVS store to buy over-the-counter medicine. I understand the store probably had experienced with theft, so they locked almost everything up, particularly brand-name medicine. That is fine, but it took ringing the customer service a second time to get someone to show up for helping retrieve over-the-counter medicine that was locked up. That wasn't something that I would overly mindful, as I am a patient person. What really ticked me off was when I needed to use the restroom. After patiently waiting for someone (apparently the Manager in charge for the evening) to clean up, when the restroom door was opened, I told her that I needed to use the restroom. There was another one with the sign up as "No Access". As she told me that she just cleaned the restroom to get ready for the next day, and "No, you cannot use the restroom", I told her it's an emergency and I really needed it. She told me "No" again, implying that I would somehow mess up the restroom that she just cleaned up. That was before 9 p.m. and the store is not closed until 10 p.m. What the point of having a restroom if a paying customer cannot use it. In addition, businesses open to the public for the sale of goods must typically allow customer access to facilities, and denying them could be seen as violating public accommodation laws in California. Later on, when I asked for corporate phone number to call, she changed her story that she didn't want me to fall because the floor was wet. You can tell when someone is not a very good liar when they have to change the story twice. Plus isn't it prejudicial to assume that someone would mess up the restroom just because you just make judgment by looking at that person? I like CVS and was looking forward every time I go there, either for picking up medicine or just to browse at the stuff they sell. I guess I won't be going back to this specific CVS store. I hope management can improve on customer service for the benefits of customers who come to this store who are paying for products and services for them to be in business. This pharmacy is run but absolute idiots. I changed to a different one near work for my maintenance Rx after never being greeting by a single person who could understand me or even take my DOB down correctly, but I recently got deathly ill and was prescribed 5 Rx that I had to pick up at this location, cause it's closest to home. I was *personally called* by an actual human being telling me to come in because they were *all ready,* so with a fever and sweats and a terrible cough I drove over. When I got there, the gal checking me in said they couldn't fill one because they needed to ask me if it was truly needed or not because another was similar. COULD YOU HAVE NOT ASKED ME OVER THE PHONE? They then said I had to "check in" my medication at another counter (why? My doctor sent it to you), and told me it'd be another 15-20min wait. This is absolutely unacceptable. I'm in no condition to wait that long, so I went home. I called 20min after I left and it still wasn't ready; they said it'll be another "15min" -- excuse me? So really, you have no idea. I then asked if I can at least cut the line when I came back because they're taking me out of "line" due to their own error-- they said "no, but you can use the drive through if standing is hard." Excuse me??? Talk about terrible service and zero understanding of how someone is feeling with an awful case of pneumonia. Next time, fill the goddamn Prescription the way the doctor sends it or ask that kind of question over the phone. Not only did you do this, but you didn't fill the MOST important drug instead of filling the similar one that was prescribed "as-needed." Why would you NOT fill the one that is required 4x a day for at least 2 weeks? Absolute incompetence. Never coming back here again, I'm done. read more

At CVS, I'm usually looking for reasons to like any particular location. That's especially true at this CVS, where per my usual optimism, I came in looking for something they either don't carry or charge far more for than anywhere else. It's the height of the summer heat and I was looking for floaties and pool toys. The selection here was very slim. There wasn't a float of any kind on the shelves, although they did have a random assortment of other fun summer games and pool activities. The only reason I expected floaties was because the CVS closer to me carries them. Silly me. They also didn't have a basic medication I was looking for and I had trouble tracking down help. They also seemed understaffed. The silver lining was the security guard who was dancing a bit when I came in was very nice and greeted me both when I arrived and left. read more

I've had mostly good experiences at this CVS location, which I exclusively go for pharmacy needs. The service has always been friendly and fairly efficient. However, this past weekend was the most frustrating. I should have checked but didn't realize they opened so much later on the weekends than they do during the week. Especially since the hours online indicate they open and close later than is noted. I'm used to early opening and early closing on weekends for most pharmacies but it was annoying to come at 9am and find they don't open until 10am. So if you're an early riser and errand runner on the weekends, expect not to be able to pick up your prescription until later if you need to on the weekends. read more

Disgusting store. This shopping center was nice when it opened on the corner of Fair Oaks and Howe, but property management has been neglecting it since. Clearly the anchor stores, (CVS and Raley's), management does not care enough to pressure property management to clean it up. They should be ashamed of how nasty it is. Hire a weekly pressure washer, ground keepers need to pick up trash, it's private property not a public dump. The same cart that has been in your lot fir 6 weeks in the same spot. Came in to grab a drink, and the line was super long. This lady wasn't wearing a mask and she had to buy one (I would've just outright refused her service, as a customer service worker myself). There were several people in line (over 7) and instead of taking the next customer, the cashier waited for this woman. I ordered a couple "same-day" items from their photo department. I showed up 3 hours after they were supposed to be done and the cashier told me "sorry we didn't have the right paper so we couldn't complete the order". I asked why they didn't call me to tell me there was an issue with my order. And the girl said "we just figured it out like 2hrs ago". Okay..... a call still would have been nice to save me the time of driving to that store for now apparently no reason. I also witnessed the terrible customer service today that another reviewer left. I walked into the store to see a male CVS cashier being held back by 2 other male customers because he was trying to reach around the counter and attack a 90 year old man! Thankfully there were other customers there to help the old man. It was horrible. Now I know (from the other review it was over soda). How embarrassing for that employee that he was trying to fight someone like 5x's his age! I saw the other reviewer ask another cashier for the manager and that cashier stated he was the manager. Yesterday the manager "Greg" was extremely rude to me. I was in line to make a purchase. He was working the cash register. As I approached, he was not friendly, he was irritated with me, and decided to ring up my purchase without asking me for my CVS card or phone number which is what the cashier does every time I come to CVS. Greg was abrasive and rough with me. There was another associate standing next to him. I told Greg, I would like for him to take my phone number so that I could receive credit for the purchase as usual. He was reluctant to find that I was an normal person just trying to do things the way they are always done at CVS. He was treating me like I was a threat or something. The other sales associate was Latino. He apologized for Gregs behavior and told me that I can always fill out a CVS survey and mention "Gregs" name if I wanted to let upper management know about his behavior. I asked him if he was the manager, the guy said no, and that "Greg" was the manager. I felt so bad for the guy, because he was sort of indicating to me that "Greg" treats everybody that way. Rough, and impatient. I hope someone is able to address this, I was not able to figure out how to leave the survey review. Drive thru pharmacy? Yeah right! I understand getting busy sometimes, but sitting for over an hour in the drive thru pharmacy only to be told "there are 10 people in front of you" once you've finally reached the window is total BS. Why do you put both the drive thru and inside lines together? You have more than one person working right?! Then they leave you there, waiting longer and don't ever answer the call button so you have no idea if you're forgotten about or not. Once finally helped it took 2 seconds to pull the prescription. Nothing they are doing would require this amount of waiting. Literally waited the length of a romcom movie at 7pm at night. The website doesn't even say that is the busy time of day! He obviously had a bad morning because he brought all that negative energy and sarcastic backtalk with him when he tended to me for a few seconds. ******UPDATE******* PITA getting my prescription filled. 10/24 in the am, my doctor sent over a script for 30 pills 10/24 I received a voicemail from Felicia informing me my insurance rejected due to needing a prior authorization. Felicia was going to send the forms directly to my doctor to fill out. 10/27 I called CVS get status and they were still waiting on my doctor to fax the prior authorization form to them. The person on the phone told me she resent it and even gave me my doctors fax number. 10/28 I received a notification my script was ready so I go through drive thru and talked to Helen. She handed me a script for 15 pills, I told her my doc wrote the script for 30 pills and to check again. According to Helen she checked and knew nothing about the alleged prior authorization letter CVS was supposed to send out. I became annoyed at that point, took the pills, immediately went home and called my insurance to get it sorted. I am working with my insurance and doctor to get this fixed. My previous authorization expired 9/24/18 and CVS never told me. I really hate working with CVS. Stay away from this location! *****UPDATE****** I am very disappointed with your pharmacy and drive thru window. I pulled into the drive thru with one car in front of me. I waited in car for a good 10-12 minutes in 104 degree heat while the pharmacist took their time with the customer. When it was my turn, I had to wait a good 10 minutes before the pharmacist acknowledged me sitting in my hot car. The pharmacist name is J. Allah or "Indy" on her name tag, She informed me my skin ointment prescription needed a pharmacist consult and he was out to lunch and I wasn't allowed to pick up my prescription. I explained to "Indy" that I purchased that particular med/skin ointment from their CVS before. Indy still refused my prescription. I asked for a manager or someone else and she refused. Told me I had to come back when the pharmacist returned. Now I have waste my gas and make a second trip to the CVS. Indy is very incompetent and doesn't know what she's doing, I cringe every time she works the drive thru window. If I could give zero stars I would I made a 2:50 appointment to get a covid 19 test waited in line for 30 min just to be told that the pharmacist was in lunch and to move along. The intern said he could not conduct tests without the pharmacist. That put me in the back of the drive thru line. They started testing people right after they made me leave so everyone behind me got tested before me. Then I had to wait another 30 min to finely get tested. read more

I am at the point where I will just not do any more business with CVS pharmacy here in Sacramento any more. A few years ago the service at the 5100 Folsom Blvd location was so bad I moved my scrips over to the then new location at Fair Oaks and Howe avenue. The service difference was extraordinary. Now flash forward about 8 years later and it is an entirely different story. BTW I used to live near this pharmacy. Moved 6 years ago about 8 miles away. But have kept my scrips here because the pharmacy was so good. However, I have noticed a definite decline in customer care over the past year. Not sure if it is a new pharmacy manager or what but, bottom line is they do not care about their patients. They have enforced a new policy that does not allow a patient to call the pharmacy and talk to a pharmacist. You have to leave a message and hope someone will call you back. That might or might not happen. Then the operating hours have apparently been changed. I showed up yesterday at 10:00 am to pick up a scrip and guess what, they were not open? Inside or at the drive through. I had another appointment so I thought okay I will come tomorrow. Today I showed up at 10:35 am. They were closed. The hours for Sunday are 11:00 am. I have been driving over and picking up my meds on weekends for years and not waiting until near noon. So this is one issue. Another is the fact that they no longer text you when your orders are ready. It is pure quess work. And you cannot call them. So you are left with the all but useless app which only works sometimes. And what it tells you is not what you hear when you go to the store to pick up a scrip that you attempted to fill through the app. The store will have no record of your requesting a refill through the app? Even when you show it to the pharmacist they just shrug. Today I asked the store manager for a number to call to register a complaint and at first was told there is no number. They finally relented and gave me an 800 number to call. Which I will do next. Meanwhile I moved all my scrips from this store at this point. It is just sad to me that this is where large chain pharmacies like CVS are at now days. This store used to be a cut above. Now it is not worth wasting your time trying to get your meds. BTW I am off my meds now for two days. And will be off of them for a week by the time my mail order meds arrive. And speaking of mail order they offer delivery though their app. But that estimated more than a week for delivery for a mere $5.00. $10.00 if you want it in three days. I had a 2:50 appt. for a covid 19 test and I waited in line for 30 mins to be told the pharmacist went on lunch when I get to the window. Then the intern tells me he can't do a covid test without the pharmacist then said he'll be back in 15 that I should go park because he has to tell everyone else in line. So instead I get back in line and the second car after me gets tested now I'm 5 cars back. And its been an hr. Got back to window and the guy who saw me before switched out with some pharmacy tech no pharmacist in sight gave me the test. Greg, the manager, is horrible. He is blatantly racist. I came into the store yesterday to pick up a few things and unexpectedly had to witness a disaster on his part. An asian man who obviously couldn't really speak english needed help getting a few things. I recall greg telling a worker that helping this man was a "waste of time". I am a white woman, so as I got in line to pay for my items greg's attitude changed completely. This is how I KNEW what type of person I was dealing with. I regret not telling him that his behavior was wrong. I hope others who witnessed this also decide to leave a review. Get him out of this store immediately! He doesn't deserve to get transferred he deserves to get FIRED. At least his employees have common sense. read more
