I was actually pretty disappointed when I found out that CVS was going to take over this abandoned building. I was really hoping for a Sprouts or Trader Joe's... or really anything else since there's already a Rite Aid a few blocks away. But man, this new CVS is sooooo much better than the old Rite Aid -- possibly because of the "new is better than old" factor (seriously, OB, you need more new stuff). But it's also cleaner, has a better selection for similar prices, and better looking employees! Only thing Rite Aid has over CVS in OB is longer hours. read more

If I could give zero stars I could. I went in to get a prescription filled and I was treated with nothing by disrespect. They treated me like a child and provided me with terrible services. The pharmacist with red-ish hair made my service feel invaluable and unwelcome. Seemed like it was her first day on the job. I'm a bit shocked. Although a new store which is clean, very neat and all new........they've done nothing to attract local business. I live near by. I have lots of scrips (unfortunately) that get filled monthly. I"m tired of the other guys in the neighborhoods attitude and lack of respect...................................but what has CVS done to draw me in? Nothing. Until yesterday I visit this CVS frequently as it is very close to my house. Typically all the employees are helpful and friendly. Unfortunately there is a female employee who has an attitude problem. I say this because she bad mouths customers and her coworkers. At first I thought nothing about it, but she continues to repeat this behavior. It has deterred me to the point I will now walk the extra couple blocks to Rite Aid or Apple Tree for my items and will be transferring my prescriptions. read more

HORRIBLE pharmacy! If I can give 0 or even negative stars I would. I needed a prescription pulled from a different pharmacy because my doctor sent it to the wrong one. I called at 12:55pm spoke to a guy who said YES, we will pull it and call you once it's ready. I called at 4pm and different person answered, this time a girl. She said when she called Green Ambulatory Pharmacy, their pharmacist was on lunch till 4:15...so apparently they had not worked on it from 12:55-3:45pm. Anyway, I let it go and just let her do her job....she also said she will call back once it's ready. 6PM - I called again, different girl, looked up my stuff...said nothing available. This time I expressed my frustrations and asked for the names of the other people working there today. I also said if they were so busy, I wish they had just told me so I could get a different pharmacy to do it. She didn't give names but she brought it up to the pharmacist...FINALLY getting somewhere. I gave it one star because the employees are nice, but overall, what a joke. Whatever you do, do NOT attempt to make photo panels there. They advertise same day pick up, but in reality, its maybe 2 days IF you are lucky. I was told by the manager that cant accommodate my orders because "you buy too many." I contacted corporate, and no joke-he laughed out loud when I told him this, never called me back to follow-up the next day as promised. I urge you to NOT use their photo services, seriously, it destroyed my business and all they did was LOL. And for the record, buying 10-20 items a week should not be considered "buying too much" at any business. read more

Was in the unfortunate situation where I had to pick up Norco (a narcotic pain medication) and misoprostal (risk of hemorrhage). Mallory (assistant) was incredibly helpful to get my prescription transferred from the pharmacy it was called into because they did not have enough on hand. Had planned to take the medications for the purpose such that I would have enough time off of work to recover. Went to pick up the medications, Mallory again was very friendly and helpful. She called Joseph (the pharmacist) over to counsel on the medications. If you are expecting a pharmacist to go over the medications with you, this would not be where I would recommend you go. He was not helpful at all and was rather short with me when I was inquiring about potential side effects and medication interaction. Just a word of advice if you are about to take medications that are scary or new and hoping to get some assistance, I would not recommend having high expectations to receive it here. read more

After dealing with the absolutely atrocious customer service and pharmacy that is Rite Aid I was really looking forward to some competition here in Ocean Beach, and it looks like I got what I asked for, but not what I wanted. Now we have two Pharmacies jostling for last place in customer service and speed! Today I waited in line for 10 minutes at a completely empty Pharmacy at 1:30 in the afternoon. The person working the counter saw me walk up and said "I'll be right with you"...after a few minutes I left and decided to give her some more time so I went and got a Pepsi from the coolers and walked around. After waiting more I finally gave up and decided to leave, and then when I saw the line I realized I would have to leave the Pepsi on the counter as it wasn't worth another 15 minutes in that store just to get a soda. All I wanted was my medicine, and they couldn't give it to me - nevermind the stupid Pepsi. Hey CVS I thought you'd be better than Rite Aid, not worse. read more

I've been to many other local CVS pharmacies and Nick lead tech here makes me want to return to this location! He is friendly and knowledgeable and helped me with my RX. He took the extra time with a positive attitude and so much kindness to help solve a RX problem and made it effortless on my part! He did it all with a sincere smile! Thanks Nick! This is a nice store and the staff are helpful. Won't I don't like is the high prices. I went in the other day to buy a product and they wanted about $10. When I went to another local vendor, I found something comparable for $4...it pays to shop around when you are on a tight budget. Three things. First the employees are phenomenal. Second, the sale prices are obscenely low and a great value for the products. Lastly, everything is easily found because of the helpful staff and cashiers. Wow, I was about to comment on my last visit when I saw a review from Nicole S. I don't think she understands our responsibility to check if our meds are about to expire ahead of time (sometimes the law requires an in-person doctor visit!). My meds have expired before & usually I find the pharmacy is quick to contact the doc but it takes time for the doc to respond. I usually ask the pharmacy to auto-refill, but there's always that time when my refills go to 0. It was nice of the staff person to even fax the doc cause it really isn't their job. Oh well. I have found that the staff at this pharmacy often help with such things anyway and they respond right away / go out of their way to help. They are also really nice in-person. That's why I like coming here. A+++ pharmacy and friendly staff!! read more

Maybe this location is taking advantage of the seasonal beach crowd, Comparing prices of brand product 2 for 1 promos are on par with supermarket non-sale, items for $4 at other places are $7 here. read more

The cashier whose name is Bennett was very helpful. And was willing to step outside of his regular obligations to help. If the attitude of Bennett reflects upon the attitude of the CVS staff then it is by far one of the better CVS is that I've been to. read more

I wouldn't recommend getting a passport photo here. The guy who had to take my photo was rushing me and had had super angry vibes...didn't even tell me when he was snapping the picture. It was so awkward. He seems like he hates his job...n really sucks because passports are expensive n I just need a simple pic taken. It looked super unprofessional and I have to get a new one. I had to do a review for this CVS because of all the ones I've been in across the entire USA, this is the friendliest. The staff here is unbelievable: courteous, welcoming, helpful, and most of all CHEERY. I LOVE going into this store! And as an added bonus, they have a little doggie dish of water out front for those shopping with their pets. This must be the best management staff on earth because everyone in this store is happy as can be. read more
