Omg the women that work there... they are just soooo sweet, and just the way they were with me so kind and caring. Very warm people! One of the doctors checked my temperature and my blood pressure (maybe it was Terry?... Im assuming because a woman named Terry left me a voicemail) before getting the nasal swab done for my Covid test results. The lady was so cute, at first the blood pressure reading wasn't working, she was jokingly saying.."oh no you're a zombie, you're to pretty to be a zombie let's try it again, shake your hands take a few deep breathes in and out" it worked the second time she said "oh it worked, see i knew you weren't a zombie" haha we both laughed, but she did let me know that my blood pressure was kind of higher than normal and asked me if I was nervous. I let her know that I'm taking a low dose of adderal in the mornings but I am just generally under a lot of stress and anxiety lately, and before my flight departure to Germany tomorrow. The other doctor that took my nasal swab was also super sweet, she was guiding me through the whole procedure, and I received a callback with my negative result within 20minutes and the official result online accessible through my chart within an hour. It was such an easy process and the women were so nice and personable. read more

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Let me tell you a little story. About a year ago I stopped in to get some allergy medicine because I was starting to feel a little sneezy at work. The particular type of medicine I was after required me showing my drivers license because the stuff contains ephedra which is used to make crystal meth. I paid for the stuff (mind you, I was in my work uniform which clearly has the logo of the business in bold letters on the chest) and went on my merry way back to work not realizing that I accidentally dropped my ID at the counter. Later that day I made my way down to Santa Fe Depot to take the train up to Los Angeles. As I went to check in I realized that I did not have my ID. Thinking back, I remembered that CVS was the last place I had it out, and called them to see if they had it, which they did. I told the person that I spoke with, that I would not be able to pick it up until Monday (it was a Friday). On Monday, when I went to retrieve my license, nobody at CVS knew where it was. Fortunately the clerk from Friday remembered me, and remembered turning my ID into the manager on duty at the time, who put it in the safe. Unfortunately this didn't matter because my license was still nowhere to be found. They did make phone calls, and I did talk to the store director who was useless. In the end, I gave up and adjusted to the fact that I would have to wait an hour at the DMV for a new DL. Things CVS could have done, and didn't. 1)They knew I worked two doors down, would it have been so difficult to call and inform me they had it? 2)My ID should have been put in a lost and found area inside the store safe. 3)My replacement fee at the DMV should have been reimbursed since they clearly had my ID in their possession and lost it. 4)I gave them both my work number and personal cell number and there was no follow up. 5)The manager made no apologies, and seemed reluctant to give me the number to the corporate office, instead referring me to the website. Because of the terrible customer service at this one location, I am boycotting all CVS locations nationwide and taking all my drugstore needs to Walgreen's. read more

I had my insurance send over a prescription here for pick up. Through no fault of their own (my insurance messed up) the prescription took a minute to process and I was left waiting. It also would have been nice if my insurance told me CVS is not carried by them which cost me a bit more in the end. Other then that CVS did its part and I eventually got my meds. read more

I'm kind of surprised at the bad reviews for this CVS. Looks like they were both made within a couple days of each other last Summer, so perhaps they have improved since then. I *love* the pharmacy staff at this CVS. They're great of their own accord, but compared to the pharmacy staff at the Hobo n' Bologna CVS on Washington, the Rosecrans pharm staff might as well have halos and wings. They were very helpful when my doctor prescribed some new allergy med that was crazy expensive and that I had to pay for it out-of-pocket. They got on the phone with my doctor and worked out a comparable Rx that wouldn't break my bank but still got the job done. They *always* have my prescription ready when I get there if I call or refill online and they never act like they'd rather be having a colonic than help you, unlike some *other* locations. I'm only learning everyone's names or I'd give them personal shout-outs. They're that nice and I never feel like I'm rushed out the door, even if they have 5 people coughing up assorted organs behind me. As far as the CVS itself goes... it's your typical drugstore fare. A lot of something and none of something else. Horrifically tacky clothing, fugly gifts, appalling sundries, dusty snacks... the usual. I do like the layout of this store because you can see where everything is located all the way across the store. But it's really what you'd expect from a drugstore, no? It's for convenience, really. You can't expect to do your routine shopping. I would normally fill my Rx's at Target since that's where I *do* most of my routine shopping, but they're not open 24 hours and it's par for the course that you need something detrimental at 3am. While the front-store staff seems a bit detached and sparse, they don't concern me much. I get my prescriptions accurately and timely, the staff is nice, the store is clean, relatively hobo-free and void of Eau du Oscar Mayer. What more can I ask for? read more

I work a couple of doors down, and it's the only reason I come here. The staff sucks. Like bad. It takes forever to get out of here, even if there's just one person in front of you. For a store as HUGE as this CVS is, somehow they never have what you need. Never. Duct tape? Nope. Any kind of good beer at all? Nope (though they do have an impressive amount of 40's). A liter of cola? Nope. It's 24 hours, the only real plus. The other drugstores on the block (there are two) close at midnight, I believe. So this place gets a second star because they've saved my ass when I'm running a fever really early in the morning. read more

My review is for the Minute Clinic. Excellent experience. Got right in. Am on vacation in SD and so glad this popped up on Yelp. At the clinic - Randell Smith was the NP and she was very pleasant, understanding and professional. She had an assistant but I didn't get her name - she was very nice as well and took my vitals. I will spare everyone the details but I had a medical situation and thank goodness this clinic was open. Did a urine sample (bathroom in CVS was naaaaasty but that's not the clinic's fault). I was able to get prescriptions filled right away after my visit. The pharmacist was very friendly and acknowledged she was filling my prescription. Got it filled and entire visit lasted maybe 20 minutes. Hoping the meds work! read more

I've switched to Walgreens across the street after consistent inadequate service of the pharmacy. On one occasion they didn't have my medication in stock. It took them so long to figure out what to do that by the time I tried to drive to a CVS down the street I was almost too late to get it. And then I WAS too late because neither pharmacy employee could tell me where the nearest CVS was and I ended up navigating myself and driving past it, so I couldn't get my prescriptions as they just closed. It was literally down the street, no one in my CVS knew this?! And why wasn't anyone willing to find someone who did? Another time I went to go pick up a prescription for the boy. This time we played it safe and refilled online. It was to be ready by 6:30. When I arrived, the line was very long. After waiting 15 minutes to get up to the pick-up register, the tech looked up the script and said it wasn't ready yet. Srsly?! Okay, I'll wait. I wait another 20 minutes, and get up to the counter. Oh, what? They only have 2 days worth, so I'll have to pick up the rest of it tomorrow. Pharmacy rage!!!! I've completely given up on CVS. read more

I am amazed & in awe of all the "stuff" here. Soooo much to choose from. Where do all these brands come from? Yet what they carry, they do have a selection, that is on the drug store/cosmetics & "where would I find?" stuff. If you are into a "store",well there are many to go to & shop at. Completely useless people. The messed up my prescription THREE times now. THREE months in a row they did their jobs wrong. THREE TIMES NOW IN A ROW MY I WILL START MY PRESCRIPTION LATE. It's not me or my Doc, it's the pharmacy tech that act like they know what they are doing. Then they estimate an hour to package a pre-filled prescription!! PRE-FILLED! Put the pills in a bag, check name and date. Done. That's all it takes. They act like they have a hard job. They act like we are the burden. Figure out YOUR JOBS! Update: Apparently they are jacking up the price now from 35 to 65.. Not only did they mess up and do it wrong yet again they are completely changing the price from last month to this month. Was on hold on the phone for the pharmacy for 20 minutes until someone finally answered, only to put me on hold for another 15 minutes and not be helpful at all. She was a woman, it was 8/24/18 at 2:40 p.m. Even when I've visited this location in person their wait is perpetual and they don't seem to have their ducks in order. Avoid unless you have endless amounts of time to have wasted and not receive the help you need. Thoroughly annoyed. read more

She builds great relationships with her customers and you can tell she genuinely loves what she does. What a shocker! I needed a prescription refilled...the insurance wanted me to change the dosage and it went round & round till I was running out of my medication. The pharmacy told me I could buy the medication for $85.00!! OUCH on social security! I ended up buying 5 @$3 per tablet. The clincher here. The same medication is $28.00 at COSCO! Is this pharmacy ripping off my insurance company and MEDICAL? YOU BETCHA!!! SHOP around before you buy your prescriptions here. So I have no issues with the store at all. My issue was with the terrible cash register system. I went in with my sick kid (who had been screaming the whole way from home, at least 30 minutes. The poor woman kept trying to help me. My phone number wasn't taking, I was in a huge rush to get him to his doctor appointment, and the prices weren't adding up as the advertised prices on the shelves. She ended up helping me out by literally giving me my items and taking care of them for me as it was taking forever to get the machine to do what it needed to. I don't have a receipt to know her name, but to the lady with the short gray hair, thank you for dealing with me at my wit's end, for being so gracious to help out a mother so frazzled and close to being fried. Thank you for being patient and not rude, as I'm sure I wasn't too pleasant. THANK YOU! read more

CVS is a store committed to health and wellness. How do I know that? Because they stopped selling cigarettes! CVS raised the bar for all the other drugstores to follow. I will make a point to shop CVS instead of Rite Aid or Walgreens because of there decision to support health by not profiting from cancer causing cigarettes. It obviously isn't right to sell cigarettes to a person during their young lives then cancer medication to them for the damage done by the cigarettes you sold them. I've only dealt with the pharmacy staff, but having visited and called several times I get the distinct feeling that no one enjoys working there. I've had great experiences with other CVS pharmacies, but no such luck here. I've been in there several times; no one ever smiles. Everyone looks stressed out. There is also a significant lack of patience and care for issues that may come up. I assume that this isn't 100% the fault of the staff, as an across-the-board unhappiness usually comes from management at some level. But having said that, I dread having to pick up my medication, and I think I will change pharmacies as soon as it's convenient. read more

This location has the most horrific bathroom I have ever encountered in my long life and that includes that of any outdoor "Porta-potty". Corporate CVS should immediately take action to remedy and discipline local management and staff of this location. To think that a sick and/or elderly person would have need to use this restroom is terrifying. read more

Three of the employees sat at the register while I was only 2 isles away and they were talking about me in the most disrespectful way. CVS is a terrible chain! Even though the stores are HUGE, they're always out of stock on most things they advertise. Not to mention they've screwed up my families prescriptions several times. Giving us the WRONG PRESCRIPTIONS! Once, instead of my normal heart medicine, I got someone else's pre-natal prescription! It's just a good thing I make it a habit of looking before I leave. Also most of the employees are SO slow, as if they don't have a care in the world. Meanwhile the line is backing up the isle. It's very irritating. I constantly hear people grumbling in line about the poor service. I have since changed to a smaller drug store near my house. I will go to Walgreens, Rite Aid or ANYWHERE else, just so I don't have to go to a CVS. I only stop in to do photos occasionally because the one gal is good at printing. Other than that, I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. read more

I wish a "Zero Stars" option was available... Horrible customer service and attitude. I've actually joined Yelp because of this. My story: I was (finally) at the front of a long line there on a busy Saturday afternoon. Only one checkstand was open when, at last, a second cashier was called; as she headed toward a checkstand, she brushed past me and said, "I'll help who's next." The people behind me - apparently more impatient than I was at that point - decided then to cut in front of me. I walked up right behind them and said to the cashier plainly and simply, "I was next in line." She looked at me as though exasperated, and instead of asking the people who had cut in front to wait their turn, the cashier proceeded to ring up their purchases. I repeated again in a louder voice, "I was next in line." And, perhaps encouraged by the cashier ignoring me, one of the customers being helped smirked while another snipped, "we only have a couple of items." I replied, "And I only have a couple of items and I was next in line." At this point the cashier also became snippy, saying, "I just said I'd help whoever is next." To which I replied, "I was next." And then I was completely ignored. I asked the other cashier for a manager and was told no manager was available, and so an asst. manager was called. The assistant manager with whom I spoke listened sympathetically but offered no recourse. And so I left the store empty-handed. After literally dropping hundreds of dollars in that store every month for everything from shampoo to cosmetics to cleaning supplies to pharmaceuticals, I will *never* shop there - or at any CVS - again. As a person who works in the service industry, I can't believe how poorly CVS employees treat good customers... Hello Walgreens, Target and just about anywhere but CVS! read more

I only go to this CVS because I work next door. I will not be coming back after my experience this evening. I would sometimes buy supplies for my company here, again no longer. I was on a break period and needed some Gatorade to rehydrate me after a very busy day. There were 3 people in line, me being the last in line with two drinks in my hand. The supervisor came up and took the lady in front of me. She apparently had some complicated issue because it was taking a while. The other cashier helped the person that had been at the front of the line and then ran away from her register and said that we would be with me in a minute she had to check on something for someone on the phone. Mind you I had two things in my hand and had been waiting a while. I find it hard to believe that there were only 2 employees in the store at that time. This is a big location and should never only have two people. If there were only two people then shame on CVS and the manger for allowing that to happen. I believe that the people in your store should be the priority over the person who is calling in, especially if they have been waiting a while and a two item checkout would take 2 seconds and no additional people would be waiting. Poor judgement call cashier. I left my drinks and went next door to get something else. I was so upset I came back and asked for a manager. She ignored me. I asserted that I wanted to speak to a manager and she said she would call one. She never called one. So I told her that I didn't appreciate not being a priority when I only had two items, had been waiting, and was pushed aside for someone on the phone. I left since my break period was up and called in and complained. The manager stated they were short staffed and he would deal with it. I did not feel like his apology was sincere either. read more

Let me first start off by saying that I have NEVER EVER given anyone a bad review before- EVER! Not on yelp, not in a survey! My mom taught me if I don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. And that is a mantra I have lived by until this awful experience at Minute Clinic- I speak up now because you need to know about this situation so it never happens again! This review is for BOTH the Minute clinic AND the Pharmacy Although the nurse was nice and she followed the obviously straightforward protocol, I was misdiagnosed because of a false positive strep screen. Clearly this was not her fault as even the subsequent lab test came back negative; however clinicians should learn about false negative rates of these tests and learn to defer to clinical judgement. I CLEARLY had a SEVERE case of strep by the time I saw my PCP the next day (who by the way said those tests are garbage and she doesn't even use them because she has gotten so many false negatives using them). By the time I saw my PCP the next day I was in SEVERE pain and nearly had to go to the ER the night before because I declined so rapidly and my fever spiked to 103. Not only was the nurse unable to recognize a clear case of strep and defaulted to a test (again- not her fault, I understand that is their protocol), she prescribed for me decongestants even though I had NO congestion at all and a lidocaine gargle which made me gag and cut my already painful throat up so bad that I was spitting up blood all night! For this reason I will never refer a friend or family member to Minute clinic for anything serious- only for simple routine procedures such as a flu or tetanus shot. Here is the kicker though!! I will NEVER use CVS pharmacy again because while processing my Rx with the pharmacy staff I suddenly became extremely dizzy, nauseated, and light headed and I told the lady at the counter who was helping me that I was really dizzy and couldn't even see her or hear her- I vaguely heard her ask very nonchalantly- almost totally disregarding me- if I wanted her to call an ambulance before I lost consciousness- NO ONE DID ANYTHING TO HELP ME! When I came to, the staff person had simply moved to the next register and was helping someone else!!! I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!! The whole staff treated me like I had the plague! No one helped me to a seat or asked me if I was ok or ANYTHING- they just let me be unconscious at the freaking register!!!! Thank God I merely put my head down before losing consciousness and didn't hit the floor! When I came to I threw up- luckily someone at least got me a bag! Then I lost consciousness again! The pharmacist expedited my RX, so it was ready before I regained consciousness the second time, but they still made me wait in line behind 5 other people- people who clearly didn't want me anywhere near them and I couldn't blame them! The staff treated me like I had the plague- and I felt like I did!- and the other patrons didn't want me any where near them either, understandably so! There was a nurse right there in the clinic!! Why didn't someone get her to help me?? Or call an ambulance?? Or just help me to a seat, or at least push me to the front of the line so I could pay for my RX and get home to bed! I guarantee you none of the other customers would have minded letting me cut in line to get me out of there as soon as possible- so why didn't anyone just get me the F out of there?? I was too disoriented to know even do anything about it. I am so disappointed in how the pharmacy staff treated me I will NEVER return to CVS!! read more

I am picking up my last prescription ever from this location (and every other CVS) ever today and I am so excited! The wait at this location is usually long. Unacceptably long. To make matters worse, if you call in a prescription a few days in advance because you don't have all day to wait, they will call you 37 times, text message you, leave you voicemails, pester you until you want to die just so you're aware you need to come give them that $5 copay. I'm pretty sure if I had waited even one more day for this last one, a CVS staff member would have shown up at my front door or at my office. Guess what CVS, if I had an urgent prescription I'd get it filled almost anywhere else. If you're filling it, it's because I was too sick or too lazy to go to my next closest pharmacy at the original drop off date. Texting, calling, leaving voice mails, haunting me in my sleep and generally harassing me to the point I'm ready to switch my phone number isn't going to get me in the door any faster. So, in short, I am so glad the harassment ends today. read more

I have been going to this location on and off for the past 10 years. And the service in the Pharmacy Department has been great. This time it was terrible. I had a prescription that I needed to pick up. CVS can only have a prescription on hold for a certain period of time before it has to get returned. On Tuesday evening I called the Pharmacy to let them know that I wouldn't be able to pick up my prescription. They informed me that it would be put back on the shelf on Wednesday and advised that I call back in the morning and ask that the prescription be refilled. So, I called Wednesday morning and asked that the prescription be refilled as my understanding was that it was scheduled to go back on the shelf. The female that I spoke with said that she would put a note on the prescription letting the rest of the associates know that I would be in after 4pm to pick up the prescription. I went to the Pharmacy and of course the prescription had been put back on shelf and I would have to wait 10-15 min. I let him know that I had called earlier and all the gentlemen would say is that the Medicine had been put back on the shelf per policy. At no given time was there an apology for the inconvenience. He spoke like someone was pulling his strings. I strongly believe that there is no such thing as Customer Service at this CVS Pharmacy location. read more
