I visited the CVS Parmacy on Mira Mesa Blvd recently, and I was extremely disappointed with the customer service. The pharmacist-whose name I believe is Jen or possibly Melek ("Mel") -was curt, unfriendly, and displayed no professionalism in her demeanor. She never smiled, and her interactions came across as abrupt and dismissive. I was generally put off by this experience. In a health care setting, professionalism, courtesy, and basic respect should never optional. Instead, I felt unwelcome and disregarded. Because of this, I will never turn this to this CVS Pharmacy and am strongly considering transferring all my prescriptions to Vons, where I know I would be treated with more care. I hope CVS management takes this feedback seriously. A pharmacist sets the tone for the entire pharmacy, and customer should never walk away feeling disrespected. read more

Patience with customers. Lady in express checkout and pharmacy was very short with my partner and they both seemed to have a bad day and took it out on her. Management please train your people how to act accordingly with your guest. Even though they are having a bad day, they shouldn't take it out on my partner who is pregnant! Shame on you! read more

The phone system is god awful and the app doesn't work. The only way to check on your prescription status is to call, spend 10 minutes as it clumsily walks you through useless menus, then it finally lets you leave a message, then wait all day for a response. Honestly, every single executive that had a hand in CVS' customer service system should be chemically sterilized so they and their descendants don't have the chance to further ruin our society. People in the store itself are nice though. read more

Had a horrible experience today at this location. I was at self check out when an elderly store clerk In the make up section was harassing a disabled child at around 5pm. She berated him and said he wasn't allowed to sit down on the ear piecing chair. I let her know how she spoke to the minor was completely unprofessional and preventing him from sitting was also discriminatory. No one was in line to get their ear pieced and yelling and speaking so unkindly to someone whose special needs is disgusting and disappointing behavior. I will not come back to this location. Just be carful if you choose this pharmacy. The lead pharmacy rep at this location Richa Krump is extremely discrimatory and if she decides in her mind she doesnt' want to fill your medication, she will lie to your face about why she can't. I have never been laughed at in a public business when trying to pick up a medication in my life. When I told Richa Krump that not being able to get my medication my doctor sent in a prescription for can cause me serious harm, she laughed at me and this is all on camera. She refused to service and help me and I am fully disabled. She lied to me and said they are out of stock of the medication and when I told her, if I call corporate and ask them if on 11/1/2023 this location was 100% out of stock, corporate will say yes. She then changed her story as she knew she was caught lying and then told me that "the quota has been met and we can't give anymore out". What ever that lie means. So be extremely careful if you need possible life saving medication. This pharmacist is extremely dangerous and I have reported her to ADA and the board of pharmacy. read more

There's always a super long wait, even if there's no line. Service is mediocre. The pharmacists stand there conversing and doing nothing for 25 minutes while I stand there waiting for someone to help me. Every single time without fail, this happens. They never have my refills ready and take about an hour to fill a simple prescription. read more

I know what can one write about a CVS, they are all the same. If that's what you are thinking, I would like to correct you. I have been to a couple of other CVS around SD and this by far is the best one. They have great offers on almost everything, the makeup section is pretty well stocked up and most of the newly launched items are available too. We went in to get some athletic tape and wrist support bands and there was a huge selection to choose from. I am also very happy with the service. There were more than usual number of counters open for checkout and they were fast at it so not a lot of waiting time. read more

The pharmacist was very helpful being that I was out of town and needed meds quick. Had my Dr. call it in and she assisted me promptly. Easy with just a small issue with my insurance, which was cleared up right away. This is the CVS inside Target. I highly recommend! read more

I come here to get my prescriptions filled; while the lines get long between 5-7 pm, the service at the pharmacy is competent and friendly. However, the same can't be said about the checkout lanes. Even though the cashiers are the same ones that were held over from when this location was a Sav-On, they're still slow. At least there are still some bargains to be found here, even if the convenience aisle is a bit on the pricy side (plus, after the brouhaha over expired items at CVS locations, I have to check the expiration dates). read more

This is without a doubt one of the bigger CVS stores I've been to, but also very disappointing. First, the store is just not clean. Someone needs to take care of those floors with a power cleaner because it looked like a stampede had just taken place. The pharmacy was painfully slow. The people working were nice, but it's in the back of the store and just not super organized. If you walk straight back to the pharmacy you see one line. It isn't until you get to the front of the line that you realize there are separate lines for people who need a consultation or are picking up, compared to dropping off. Either way, be prepared to wait. The front check-out is a disaster in its own right. This might have seemed like a good layout 50 years ago, but times have changed and it is way past due for CVS to revamp the layout and make the store feel a little less like a morgue. read more

I go here when Vons is too packed. Usually go here before a trip to pick up some travel size hygiene stuff. Also their carton of cigarettes are cheaper than your local grocery store. But they have some weird employees that work there and I think they need to febreeze the place because it smells weird. You can tell a lot about the leadership of a business by how pleasant the staff is, especially at busy and stressful times. The culture of the CVS pharmacy is first class. There is nothing more disgusting and appalling than to be a part of a medical system that allows CVS workers in the pharmacy to feel so privileged and entitled to ignore service because they know patients need their meds. Rather than show compassion, they would rather show their contempt for people who are suffering and desperately need help. To say the least, it is nothing short of cruelty because they think they're better. To watch a line of customer build up with long wait times as pharmacy workers look on and ignore wait times. It's a shame that the culture of ignoring service has made CVS a horrible place to go to. How about just showing some compassion for those who have to stand in line and do something about it. Stop pretending that you're so busy that you can ignore everyone. Shame on you, especially to the pharmacist. I usually go to the CVS on Westview for all my needs, but for prescriptions the Mira Mesa one is more convenient since it's 24 hours. The CVS app is great for not only coupons, but it also let's you review your prescriptions, re-order them, and check on the status. I recently received an alert that a prescription I had was re-filled automatically so I stopped by on my way home. After giving my information to the pharm tech he proceeded to go to the "A" section to look for my bag. I guess he couldn't find it because it literally went through every bin and random piles at least twice. Eventually he asked for another pharm tech to help him and about 10 minutes later he was able to locate it. This does not look professional at all. I was just standing there watching the guy look through the sames piles over and over again, running back to a computer and typing stuff in, and at one point he even asked me if I was sure I filled a prescription. Didn't he already confirm this when he first asked me for my information? On a side note, I always thought it was interesting how there's never really any privacy when you pick up your prescription. I could hear everything the pharmacist was talking to a customer about. There are some things you don't want to know about people. read more

CVS gets three stars mainly for one reason: They constantly understaff the registers, leading to impressively long lines. Today I went in at around 1 P.M. It was not busy, but because there was only one woman working the register (who was super nice by the way), the 6-7 people in line made for a long wait whereas if they had 1 or 2 more cashiers it would be a breeze. I've never used the pharmacy so I cant speak on that, but the store itself is clean and the employees are largely friendly. read more

This so breaks my heart. Never would I think I would experience this in a past employer of 15 years. I believe I'm considerate and have a lot of patience but I hope Cvs doesn't just hire anyone (regardless of their personality and work ethics). If they are gonna work For any company especially in pharmacy , please make sure they have motivation/determination and empathy. It was not our cashier mildred but it was her fellow customer russel. She supposedly help Mildred in doing a coupon transaction but spoke her native language which I assume Tagalog . I found that very unprofessional; basically cause I have no clue what she Is saying to her fellow coworker. I honestly gave her the benefit of the doubt and confronted her about conversing in another language. She was very defensive and this was not the first time . I myself did work for sav/on and cvs for 15 years. I learned from training modules to speak only English because it would offend a customer . I never thought that would happen me personally at cvs. Apparently I was wrong . She actually was clocking out to work and was very defensive and kept yelling threats . I'm sure you can see from the cameras . The sad part was I was with my mother who had to witness this and she stayed a loyal customer after I left Cvs to work at KP. I am so done with CVS. Getting my drugs online, I fill out the forms and press "submit". Then I show up to the store a couple of days later and they have never heard of me. They haven't even any record that I ordered my meds. I'm also sick of the tired worn out stores with spots and tears on the carpet. DO NOT GO HERE if it's only the asian lady working here or if she's the one that calls you if you're next to be seen The asian guy however is the person you want to be seen by - if he isn't there, it's worth waiting until he's actually working. The lady has the WORST customer service ever. She completely filled out my sons basic sport physical form WRONG and over charged me. Then I can barely understand a word she's saying and seems to not know what the heck she's doing on the computer. I NEVER used to have issues coming to this Minute Clinic until she started working here. I paid $60 and the way she completed the sport physical form made it INVALID for me to use because she didn't understand the form. read more

The staff are courteous, fast, and helpful, everything you would look for in a respected retail/ pharmacy chain. My only complaint is how this store handles its checkout. Customers have to form a long, winding line in front of ~5 registers. When it is busy, the line is confusing and people start branching out all over the place. "Sorry, but the line starts over there" is a very common thing to hear while shopping toward the front of the store. read more

This CVS is very clean and organized. You always get a nice feeling when you walk in because everything is so put in place. I get my prescriptions filled here all the time due to location. Reason it gets 3 stars instead of 4 is because of the staff. About half of them are incompetent and rude, more specifically, the cashiers up front at the checkout counter. The pharmacy itself is for the most part very good. I have my prescriptions on auto-refill and it gets filled on time every time and I get a nice phone call notification saying it's ready to be picked up. The only thing about this pharmacy is that they did manage to lose one of my prescriptions one time, actually they lost it 2x! but i think that might've been a bad employee or something. Never had a problem otherwise. Also, this CVS is open 24 hours....very convenient and reliable. read more

REVIEW FOR MINUTE-CLINIC AND PHARMACY ONLY I thought I had poison oak, but i wasn't quite sure and whatever it was, it was getting worse, so i visited the minute clinic in pacific beach and the chick there couldn't give me any answers, was super unhelpful and was a total waste of time, so i decided to give the minute clinic by my work a chance. I went here and had such a great experience with the lady at the minute clinic, she gave me great information, was very thorough, confirmed my thoughts, prescribed me something to help and i was able to get it about 15 minutes later at the pharmacy. Had to get a prescription filled at this CVS Pharmacy and don't think I'll ever go back here for a prescription. The clerk/cashier was about the rudest person I have ever come in contact with. She yelled at me for not being behind the wait in line sign which I clearly didn't see because of it's location and when I got up to pay her for my prescription she was such a witch. The pharmacist on the other hand was super cool and explained to me how to use my medication; this was required even though I knew how to use it and it says on the bottle how to use it. read more

Wait times are LONG. Employees are as friendly as they need to be. I only come here in the middle of the night to pick up prescriptions, otherwise I end up waiting for an hour or more. Sometimes I get calls from them telling me that my meds are ready, only to have them let me know that they are not when I come to pick them up. Their computer system has also been down multiple times, which can be really frustrating. read more

This CVS looks just like any other CVS. They are 24 hours and in a well lit plaza so coming here at night isn't so scary. They are next to Vons, which also stays open very late. They are across the Street from Walgreens, which also is open 24 hours. They carry a good stock of liquor for very good prices. I usually go here when I need some liq to mix in to make other drinks (Jungle Juice, Screwdrivers, AMFs, etc.) I go here to get any OTC meds that are needed. For some reason whenever I come here the store seems kind of understaffed, its very hard to get an employee to help with anytihng. For example, I came here once to develop some photos and there was no one around that area to offer any kind of assistance. The pharmacy is quick and on point, they call when your meds are ready. They have a lotto/scratcher machine inside in case you are feeling lucky. There are lots of snacks to choose from in case you need to pick up anything for a movie night. There is plenty of parking and items are almost always in stock here. Convenient when needed. read more

PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT "THE LINE FORMS HERE!" One night we were in line and a woman cut right to a register without seeing the line swamping the whole first aisle area. The man in front of me chewed her out and she returned fire with obscenity after obscenity. She came back and threw a box of cold medicine at my husband and me when we got tot the same cashier shed'd cut in at. The rest of the people in line screamed and I said, " Did she throw that at us?!" And the cashier said, "No she was throwing it at me because I took her ahead of the line." Jeez. The store is a typical enough store. Its clean and all that. A few bare shelves can be excused...a shortage of employees. But theres zero accountability. I accidentally left my groceries at the register at 955pm the other night--5 min before closing. I called the next day to verify they were mine and confirm how and when could I pick them up. I was put on hold for 5 min (before I hung up) and then, when I called back, the woman who answered was disorganized and unhelpful. The groceries (non-perishable) worth $38 are GONE ...I was told that I would receive a call back...no such luck. REALLY?? read more

I have had multiple negative experiences from this CVS and I will never return to give them any of my business. My first negative experience was simple, I went to buy hair dye. I bought the specific kind I needed, and went home to do it. As soon as I opened the box, I became aware the the incorrect hair dye was in the box. It was an entirely different brand and color. I went back and told the clerk that I wanted to exchange because the incorrect product was in the box. This is the only reason I am giving this establishment 1 star, the clerk allowed me to exchange for a box of hair dye with the correct dye in it. My second negative experience was with their new minute clinic. The "Doctor" (I put doctor in quotations because he was not a doctor nor was he adequately advised in his own practice) I saw, might I add after sitting alone in the waiting room for 30 minutes and then entering his office where he had been sitting without another patient, had not a single clue as to what ailed me. I should have paid Google $100 to give me the exact same insufficient diagnosis. The clinician literally admitted to me that he had no idea what was wrong with me, even though I showed him exactly what my ailment was. He wasn't exactly friendly either, but the main reason this experience was so awful for me was that I paid that man for absolutely nothing. I paid him to waste both of our time. My final negative experience was on another simple shopping trip. I had to pick up bandaids and a few other things. I grabbed all of my desired products, stood in the check out line (that is always undermanned), and went home. Once again, upon opening my purchased product, I was extremely dissatisfied. I found the box of bandaids was completely empty. I did not bother going back to the store this time. The store attendants obviously do not care enough about their store to simply make sure that people are not stealing and tampering with their product. This is extremely unsatisfactory to me and I will not be giving my business to this establishment again. It is, however, my luck that there is a Walgreens across the street from them. I advice anyone purchasing products from here to double check what is inside your boxes, because it is evident that the employees won't. read more

I usually visit this cvs at least once a week every time I go here is such a terrible experience but today was just extra special for I got the worse customer service from one of the store managers named Russell I was in there with my two children one of which is 5 years old and has autism My son had a balloon on wrapped around his wrist and was running around the cashier registers when the string accidentally got caught on the side of the register and Russell quickly yelled out him telling him to be careful! I wanted to tell her not to talk to my son that way but I didn't I but my tongue knowing that my son was being annoying and I needed Russell's help to get out of the quickly but anyways She didn't greet me at all I could already tell she was annoyed because she had seen the coupons I was carrying with me Everyone in that store hates dealing with coupons and CRTs All throughout my transaction she was very rude Had on a mad face I know this because she has helped me before and she's never been this rude...I know she hates the coupons but she's always dealt with them in a proper manner After I was done paying she handed me my receipt and change money...I waited for her to say "thank you " or "have a great" but instead she called over the next person in line Seeing that I still had all my stuff on the counter and hadn't bagged any of it yet I asked how she was going to call over the next customer in line if I was still standing there? Worse customer service at this store! They accuse you of lying. Their systems never work and they make a big deal over everything. The assistant manager Jeffery is said to have really good customer service, but I doubt it. I was telling him what happened with my card and they didn't believe me. I don't know why anyone would lie over $2, that's pathetic. For them to give me a hard time over $2 shows that they must think every customer is stealing from them.
