CVS on Mission just sold me two prescriptions. Warning inside said NOT to ever take both together! Called pharmacist who gave me no satisfaction whatsoever. He poo pooed warnings saying Drug Companies just don't want to get sued so they put in warnings to protect themselves against lawsuits. The Pharmacy Department is awesome. Great staff and excellent service. However in the past several months service at the front of the store has severely deteriorated. They always welcome you when you walk in however you can't find someone to help you. ESPECIALLY in the Photo Department. Sat there for thirty minutes with no customer service and then stood at the only cashier available, 15 people deep before I had to ask the cashier for my photos that I ordered. Finally called The Manager, no paper , no help. Didn't care. DONE! read more

I went there a few years back, and stopped because of the poor CS. What a nightmare it was. So my Doctor calls in a script to CVS, and still had them on file (I now use the Bird Rock location btw). I checked Yelp before going down there to pick up my two scripts. 3 out of 5 stars is not good...and this Angela woman seems to be a problem. Nevertheless, I went with my broken foot and waited almost 5 minutes while hollering two 'hellos!' I was the only one there, btw. And only Angela was behind the counter. Horrendous. When I explained I saw hear make multiple phone calls, while I was trying to flag her down, she was very rude in her response. I believe the Manager came over to help me, so she heard the exchange as well. Besides the miscommunication, and the awful wait w/a bum foot, she reply was so rude as to make me request a transfer to the other CVS. She handed me my script and I left. Besides her rudeness, she needed help during the lunch hour. But maybe a bell to alert people you're standing there??? Maybe more staff?? I simple, "I'll be there shortly" would have sufficed. I could have sat down and waited. One Star...avoid if you like being treated with respect. We have choices CVS!!! read more

Everyone is so friendly and helpful at this CVS. Beauty help is superior and they even point out coupons that they have that can help me save money! I never post on here BUT I have to give a shout out to Franchesco and Michelle for going above and beyond and taking excellent care of me. Medical insurance can be complicated and a pain and these two took the time to deal with my insurance company and the back forth chaos from my doctors office. I've had a couple not so positive experiences at this pharmacy before and even considered changing- but I think they have taken a turn for the better and I think I'll stick around!! read more

I am updating my review to make note that the lady with the glasses to referenced in my previous review is named Angela and she is exactly as rude today as she was a year ago. Absolutely no customer service skills. She seems to constantly be having a terrible day and doesn't even look up to say hi let alone any sort of greeting. She was so quick to say "name, birthdate" with out looking up I paused and waited for her to look up and actually acknowledge me. She practically ran off before I could say thank you. Jayr and the asain girl were extremely rude AT THE PHARMACY. A cvs called to ask if they had a prescription and she said yes they do without even looking so I drive from PB to lajolla and they didn't have it and I was upset. As soon as I walked away they started talking trash about me and I told them I could still hear them then they said "we arnt talking about you" "we are talking about our manager" who was at the other CVS (he's pretty cute) and he was very helpful and I let him know what they said. CVS at this location is so good.. the pharmacy staff goes over and beyond to help customers. They were so helpful to me yesterday. I have Ca Blue Shield heath insurance. I needed an antibiotic I was in pain from infection.. Blue shield was holding up approving this drug.I waited and waited all day after many phone calls to Blue shield. I asked how much the drug would be if I paid for it my self.. The wonderful people at the pharmacy worked with me to get the price down so I could pay out of pocket.. right after I paid out of pocket Blue shield oked the drug!! (made me wait all day) My health care cared so little about me they left me in pain with a growing infection all day!! I was so grateful to get this drug so my infection could start healing. Health insurance doesn't do anything for our health.. profits driven.. thank to to CVS they cared about my heath. read more

What a dump in the middle of PB. 1)Their trash bins are always overflowing. 2)Expect the homeless to harass you. 3)Their ridiculous receipts and plastic bags are always blowing down the sidewalks, alleys and streets. 4)Their garbage bins aren't locked so the homeless drunks are always dumpster diving and throwing even more garbage into the alley. 5) The homeless always are sold liquor. 6) Homeless always are always camped around their property. 7) They never clean up the trash and homeless excrement around the perimeter of their store. Wanna see some today, just make a right out their door and round a corner but watch your step! 8)...and the female manager is perfectly happy to tell you that she doesn't care, what a snot, as a result the employees adopt the same attitude. I go here for a convenience store. Not for pharmacy That said, I have already picked up on some of the marketing/sales they do. For example coca-cola literally goes on sale every other week and has been following that trend for months now. Same w gatorade. Same w their hard liquor. Beer really isn't ever 'on sale' as it never seems to come off of it. Their prices on booze for the game tends to be very similar to Ralph's although you don't have to buy X amount luckily in order to qualify. They do offer small discounts on certain stuff if you do though. Although Ralph's has way over stocked before and had crazy prices to clear space but that isn't the norm. So if there are certain things you look for, stock up when on sale. One thing I am not a fan of though is they usually only have one register open. Even when it gets busy. An employee may jump in and open another but that isn't always the case. read more

Went in to the pharmacy and was helped in a timely manner. The pharmacist was well informed and knowledgeable. The pharm teelp chs were mostly helpful and took time out to help us. but they need better communication, especially documenting requests. It wastes time when a customer doesn't want something, then when they come back to pick up their items and have to wait because the second pharm tech decides to go get a medication that was requested to be held. Overall it''s what you would expect to find at a CVS, not more not less. read more

I guess I don't have the usual problems with this CVS. Granted they don't have the most dazzling array of products... and I don't have prescriptions to get filled, but I like to keep my eye on the liquor prices here. A lot of times you can get a GREAT deal on bottles. Last I checked, they had the best prices on reg and flavored smirnoff (9.99!) And besides that, I like this CVS waaaaaay better than the other 2 near my house. They always have more makeup in stock. read more

I feel silly reviewing a drug store, but I think it deserves it. PB has maybe 5 CVS locations, but this one is far and away the best. They have the most professional, most knowledgeable and friendliest pharmacy staff anywhere, anywhere. It's not the most convenient location to me, but I go out of my way to keep coming back. They've started allowing tourists to pay for parking in their already small lot, though, so plan around that in the spring and summer weekends. read more

This CVS is a great little place to grab anything you need. It has a large parking lot, which is a huge plus for how close it is to the ocean. Even on weekend summer days I have always been able to get a parking spot. They really have everything you could ever want with a better selection than other CVS. They also have all your beach needs if you forget anything. The one downside is that the lines to checkout can get long. read more

The pharmacy here is filled with a bunch of idiots! My doctor called me in some prescriptions and before going to pick them up, I called to verify what the amount of the BRAND names would be without insurance. The tech here is too stupid to know the difference between brand and generic because I picked them up assuming they did their job right and when I got home to take them I saw they gave me the generic meds. I have a note with CVS pharmacy about the medicines I am allergic too, but apparently they were too illiterate to read them. I called to tell them they gave me generic medicine I am allergic to but they were unwilling to take them back or refund me. They said there were no notes in their system. LIES! Here come the excuses....goodness forbid they be accountable for their mistakes. I then got the runaround when I demanded they do their job correctly rather than kill the customers by giving them medicine they are allergic too. They don't care. I was told I had to wait for a pharmacy manager, who would be in 2 days later, to discuss the issue. Oh OK, so I cannot take my medicine since you refuse to do your job? Again, their motto is "let's kill off the customers." So, either I take the medicine and prepare for an ER visit or wait and be sick without it. This was their solution. Either way, I did without the medicine that is extremely important I take everyday or I my body will begin failing on me. I called 2 days later for the incompetent useless manager, named Leah (?) to give me the around as well. She blamed me saying I should have checked it before leaving. Here is an idea....train your technicians and pharmacists to makes sure they do their job by filling the prescription that was asked of them to fill! THEY NEED TO ASK THE PAYING CUSTOMER WHAT THEY NEED AND WANT FILLED---DON'T ASSUME ANYTHING!!!!!!! If a customer calls to discuss brand names, like myself, that means you are filling brand names. I know how difficult that must be for you to understand but that is what it means just for future reference. Leah said she would have to talk to her supervisor and call me in the morning. Do you think that happened? NO. I will be going in there and making a scene until these idiots do their job. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!! Just so you know, I received 3 medicines in generic form that I was not suppose to receive. Hey CVS, clearly it's all about the money to you. The head pharmacist here is a terrible terrible person when it comes to customer service I highly recommend you getting rid of her because anybody else literally anybody else that I've ever spoken to in my life including half the homeless people in Pacific beach are nicer than the woman that you have behind the counter so please do everyone a favor get rid of that person and put someone there who at least knows how to talk to people with respect. read more

I never had a problem with the staff before, until today. Some lady with a red shirt with floral print responded to my question the most ridiculous & semi-rude way. I usually go in out real quick to grab a daily necessity in an emergency, like today, I lost my lip balm and needed a back up. I asked nicely, "do you have any lip balm in the store?" Since I already spent a good 5 minutes looking for the section on my own. Lady with red floral shirt responds "It doesn't work that way." There was a pause since I just stood there blankly looking at her cause I had no idea what context she took my question in nor did I know why she would respond with that sentence. Then she goes in to say "We go by certain brands." Another pause cause I still have no idea what she is trying to tell me due to her off putting tone. "What exact kind of lip balm are you looking for?" I answer "I don't know Carmex or any kind" keeping my composure. Finally changes her tone and goes " Oh yea, so if you go straight ahead and right next to the Pharmacy there will be a section of different types of lip balms." My question is why was it so hard to just say that in the first place, instead of giving attitude then making the conversation awkward. Maybe I could've worded my sentence differently, but still doesn't make sense why she came off that way. Will keep my eye out not ask about anything that might be in the store from that employee. read more

!!!!!! TOWING TRAP !!!!! We were vacationing in San Diego 4/2/11. My young daughter and I went in to puchase some items, we shoped for nearly 30 min. was checked out by the Asst manager, Uliscs. We had parked the furthest spot away from other cars and the entrance, I had just washed the car didnt want it disturbed. any how after our shopping it was aprox. 9:20pm and a Taco Bell was less than 15 feet from my car so we went there to use the restroom, wash up and have a quick bite. Walking out I see my car being towed out of the parking lot at 9:45. Went into the C.V.S store to complain and the Manager was the person who authorized the tow. After he realized it was my car, he called the Western Towing and they waived the $375. fee. I did have to pay a taxi $25 to get to my car, low and behold the car is dented and mud spashed all over it. The Western Tow company has not returned calls, they are in a business arrangement with the C.V.S pharmacy!! read more

This store is big. It's beautifully laid-out so you can find anything easily. The pharmacy and main store employees are great. The pharmacists are helpful with any questions. I probably shop here twice a week, every week. My only complaint is that their coupon dispensing machine is ALWAY broken. read more

Came in while on vacation with two prescriptions from Urgent Care for my two children. I think the pharmacist's name was Joy. Her consultation was excellent. She took the time to follow up with the physician with a question of mine and make recommendations for over the counter meds. I was filling two prescriptions for the same medication. She took the time to write each child's name on the bottle because the concentration was different. She double checked with me the correct age and weight of each child for each medication. While waiting for the prescription I called my pharmacist friend from home (feeling nervous getting mixing prescription and over the counter meds for our flight home that night) Her recommendations were the same. When picking up the prescriptions, Joy had additionally checked with the doctor to make sure I could also use benadryl for our red-eye flight home that night.
