Mmmmmmm...nothing beats a brand new store smell and this CVS is very new. It's not a converted Long's Drugs or Walgreens that never really changed over completely...this was a CVS that was constructed from the ground up! They even have a drive-through pharmacy! Unfortunately, being a relatively healthy individual, I don't know if I ever will likely take advantage of it...but I do appreciate a brand new store. Things are in stock..variety is at its peak, it's not that crowded yet. Even the workers blue vests seem to shine a bit more since they are so spanking new! This is probably not the biggest CVS out there but considering that the uber popular Chick-fil-A next door, it makes it very convenient to pick up useful things like antacids after a perhaps overindulgent Chick-fil-A meal next door. And did I mention that they have the drive-thru pharmacy? That's still something that the Target across the street will never be able to do and props to CVS for making it happen! read more

THe first time I came here they weren't quite done with construction so I was turned away. Recently had lunch in the area then realized I had to pick up a few things. Some daily goods, floss, lib balm, lotion. They gave out quick free CVS cards and I got some decent 50% off discounts. Not bad. Nice, new and large, friendly staff. read more

I felt the woman in the pharmacy was very condescending. I've been sick with a head cold or a sinus infection plus I'm new to this state and (one day in) to this absolutely foreign concept of Kaiser where the insurance provider is also the medical provider. (Unrelated, I can be the only one concerned of conflict of interest, am I?) But I felt she talked down to me both on the phone, and when I went in. Pharmacy workers should be more pleasant, no one wants to deal with attitude and superiority when sick and having a crappy day. Also they're overpriced compared to Walgreens for out of pocket medications, same prescription without insurance was $10 more. ($20 more than retail price at Kaiser - but no one would go to Kaiser who wasn't on their insurance would they?) They're also more than Target across the street for every day needs. I love that this place is so close to my work and I can buy cigarettes but they will soon stop selling it in November or something around there because cvs is suppose to be "healthy" WHATEVER, you should stop selling junk food too then. Normally when I head in the morning there's not much or a line, but when I head there around 2 or 3 there's only one register open and there's a long line! read more

Another CVC with the grey ratty carpeting but this one has the same rat nesting leading a path through the store so it break up the grey nest all together for a much improved look. Terrible Customer Service! Went to buy Cigarettes for someone and I am not a smoker so my bad. ...I asked for a carton of Camel Filters. The Clerk Johanna, whom was sweet as pie got them for me, i paid and off I went. Come to find out they were the wrong ones they were Camel Filter 99's. So I go back 2 hours later with my receipt to exchange them for the right ones and too bad for me. They don't do that! Ok wheres the sign posted that says that??? where does it say that on the receipt? Every other policy is posted all over the place except this one! So im out $48 and writing a letter to Camel to make the darn Camel Filter 99's package a different color than the Camel Filters. I came here on lunch to get a drink. There selection was very empty. I noticed staff stocking merchandise. They have a lot of Halloween decor at reasonable price. It seems like there are always new people here. I don't know if that was a management issue or not. Some of the merchandise is over priced, you can always go to Target for stuff cheaper. read more

Since Pharmacy Manager "Bryant" moved on from this location (about 8 months ago) the level of customer service offered at the North 1st CVS pharmacy has DRAMATICALLY FALLEN: 1.) Pharmacy "Techs (the regular behind-the-counter employees)" appear to be very task-oriented as opposed to customer-oriented. When I approach the counter, I feel as if I'm an interruption to their work--rather than being THE reason for it. I recently asked the location of caffeine tablets, and one of the Techs (a young Asian woman wearing glasses) snapped at me as if I was asking for an illegal substance--and even claimed to have "no idea what (I was) talking about." However, the tablets were located RIGHT THERE on the aisle! 2.) The new Pharmacy Manager always appears to be in a rush, and unwilling to spend time getting to know her customers. WHY SHOULDN'T I CONSIDER MAIL-ORDER PHARMACIES and/or the Target next door, etc. if my "neighborhood pharmacist" doesn't even know who I am? 3.) PUT MORE EMPHASIS ON THE DRIVE-THRU. Without the drive-thru, I wouldn't even be a N. 1st Street CVS customer. Make it a priority--not an afterthought. I'm literally THIS CLOSE to switching to an RX team that will deliver right to my door. If you don't agree with nor understand my complaints, then I'd suggest you reach out to former Pharmacy Manager Bryant and ask for his honest feedback. He "led by example" and often even "worked the counter" himself. On a more positive note, the cashiers up front (in the main part of the store) are consistently excellent: They initiate conversations with their customers, and make us feel as if they truly appreciate our business. read more

Sat on the phone for an hour and 15 minutes, and still couldn't get the pharmacy. Called the front of the store, and the rude Indian cashier hung up on me because "he can't help me". When are they going to take action and start firing these people-they always suck, and nobody does anything to correct this! read more

This is the Worst CVS outlet . Got email for photo order pick . When I go there he search all over for about 10 min and eventually printing again....now you guys can understand how their work is ......and at the same time I took my 5 month old baby for passport photo. He said they won't take photo of babies age less than 2 years ....hey what the heck is this....there is no where mentioned in CVS website/store but this giving his own rules ......then went to Walgreen to take passport photo .... Thalia and Josh are amazing I have never been to a Cvs where I felt no tension at all. The minute I walked in I was greeted. They are respectful helpful. It almost felt like we were family. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming.. every store should be like this .. I don't know who is in charge of their pay but they should get a raise! I always come here for my prescription drugs as it is very close to work. It is easy to order and pick up and I don't have to wait more than 2 - 3 minutes. It is well organized and staff is courteous. Took off two stars because the young guy at the pharmacy asked me "what do you need a bag for?" when I asked for a paper bag to carry my medicines. read more

When I realized that I did not have my driver's license with me, I literally panicked. I desperately searched my home and all other places I have been to where I could have left my DL. I even made some phone call to various Costco stores just to ensure that I did accidentally leave my DL there. I already planned of going to DMV since all my attempts seemed unsuccessful. Then I remember that I went to pick up my Rx in CVS North First St. branch ten days ago. I called the pharmacy and voila, they have it. I asked why they never called me. I was told that they do not know. This is an example of the very poor and unacceptable level of service that the pharmacy staff provide. CVS should implement and enforce a stricter policy among its staff when this type of issue is encountered. read more

I don't get how drive thru with only 4 cars in front of me. It took me 1 and a half hours just to do a 5 minute pick up. I would of left and got out earlier if I wasn't just stuck in between the cars. Terrible, just terrible. read more

Called at 3 pm to have them fill a script and the pharmacist said it would be ready after 6 pm. I'm already running late so I don't show up until 8:25 pm and... ITS NOT READY. I'm sorry, 5.5 hours wasn't enough time to fill 2 scripts?! Or how bout even 2.5 hours since ur time of 6 pm?? They def needed help as there was only 1 tech/clerk and 1 pharmacist, 2 people waiting to drop off, 2 people at the drop off counters, 5 people picking up, and 1 lazy drive through person. Had to wait 10 mins before I was helped, only to be told it's not ready and to wait an additional 10 mins. Mind you this is 8:25 pm that I walked in, 8:36 pm being helped, and 8:45-8:50 pm leaving with meds. When I left they had too many people in line to close by 9. read more

I was here in the parking lot taking lunch while working. I went to chick filé and while I'm eating my lunch in the parking lot they called security on me said I can't park here. I was parked in the back parking lot not even infront of thier store.I'm like I'm a paying customer for chick fil a and all the parking isn't for CVS only. Nice CVS with friendly staff, but it is a busy location at all times of the day, and there is never enough staff on the check outs, so the lines are long. A lot of this has to do with people cashing out lottery tickets. The long lines could be relieved if they cashed lottery tickets in a specific line, and left the other lines open for everyone else. read more

This is a review of the pharmacy. I had just refilled a non-narcotic prescription and then lost it the next morning. In the house or in the car, it's in my possession but I don't know where. I take it daily and it is extremely important to my life. Not only was everyone friendly on the phone (I haven't picked up yet, you'll see later), I asked to please get a few to hold me over while I dig through my life after work looking for my bottle, and the pharmacist agreed and said she'll give me 3. My first time visiting pharmacy and dropped off prescriptions. ..the technician there told me that it would take 24 hours for a transfer from a different pharmacy(that was Sunday ) And they would let me know by text. Well today is Wednesday...no text, no call...so i called and asked what the status of my medication....and they told me it's ready! WELL THANKS ALOT FOR FOR NOT TEXTING OR CALLING!!!! Excellent pharmacy, and unlike other pharmacies, their texting program actually works! The employees are polite and helpful, and the pharmacist is ready to clear up any confusion you might have about any medication. I went here during lunchtime and it was pretty empty so there was a lot of room to shop. It's a big store and has a lot of products and clearances. I really like how theres a coupon printer so dont neglect that machine because you'll get some good deals. I scored the ponds bb cream that was on clearance for $6 which is cheaper than target. The cashier is friendly and doesn't watch over your shoulder but offers help and walks around occasionally. Love it! Parking kind of sucks though. read more

So sad Bryant is no longer the pharmacist at this location. He knew how to help his customers and create an environment that kept me as a customer but this new female pharmacist is extremely rude. This is my absolute favorite CVS Pharmacy. Everyone I've met at the pharmacy has been the nicest I've ever experienced at a drugstore.

Worst Pharmacist. They don't show up until 9:40. Don't go there 9AM. Even shop manager doesn't care about situation like calling Pharmacist.

Too over priced. You can get same stuff in half price in target or amazon. Every item there in cvs is overpriced almost double.

Ima keep it short. This store doesn't have good selection of anything, it doesn't have enough staff, and multiple times transactions that should be quick get dragged out for couponers, extracare sign ups, refunds and re purchases for the best price while I'm standing here pulling my hair because I'm going to be late and we are taking our sweet f*in time. So I went over to CVS to return a faulty product which malfunctioned. I had no receipt but in the past have brought up the bank transaction on my phone. I went back to consult Jodi, who is the manager temporarily standing in for Daisy, who is the actual manager on a temporary leave. Jodi explained to me that she could not go back into the transaction history and locate it and when I explained that this has been done in the past she said, "well I'm not doing it." At the time I did not know her name and when I asked her for her name, Jodi stated, "I don't have to give you that info." I then told her that myself and my entire immediate and extended family are never ever shopping at another CVS, all because of her, she said "ok...and...". I then said, "really you don't care about your store's or your company's customer attrition, "she said, no...not really." I had to double check and asked again if she was the manager, because she was wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt with no name tag and did not act like a manager or look like one. Lo and behold I called and spoke to several employees who confirmed that Jodi is the girl who I spoke to and that moreover I actually spoke with Jodi herself. I have never ever had an experience like that in over 30+ years of being a customer at CVS and it is a shame that Jodi is a manager at CVS. Regardless, I have called customer service and they have been quite responsive in accommodating my needs and making sure they get down to the bottom of things. I explained the incident and also let them know that I actually started recording because this Jodi became so flagrant. Shame on you Jodi. You think you are exempt and will get away with this because you are some temp stand-in for the real manager but you will get a talking to and a reprimanding. read more

Second time visiting this pharmacy and they told me to come back in twenty minutes and both times I've come back in thirty, only to be told it would be at least another twenty minutes. Just tell me the truth, I could have taken care of errands but due to the I efficiencyof this staff, I have to wait, again. The staff shows no urgency or caring either, totally unapologetic. I will drive ten miles out of my way to go to Walgreens where at least I get friendly service and accurate time estimates. read more

I've just had an interaction with the store manager, DIANA, at CVS, 4110 N 1st St, San Jose. She was highly unprofessional and rude. You'll think, as a store manager, she will be helpful and competent, however, "to lead by example and set up the tone", is not something she is aware of and I am just wondering what training CVS chain does provide to its managers? DIANA did let me finish the sentence, when I was trying to explain her the reason for my frustration with the service, she kept interrupting me by saying "whatever" and that was when she was surrounded by her subordinates.
