This is a perfectly fine drug store with convenient parking. I have no experience with their pharmacy but have stopped here on several occasions to buy personal supplies, snacks, drinks and other such miscellaneous goods. Clerks have been professional and polite and the lines aren't a long wait. Store is clean, recently upgraded to match the current modernized look of CVS and prices are fair. Shelves are well stocked and have the typical variety of what you'd expect. Lots of snacks, a small selection of pantry foods/cereals, a little clothing, lots of average cosmetic and beauty supplies, wrapping paper, gift cards, alcohol, some fridge foods (dairy) and frozen foods (ice creams, frozen meals), as well as ice, a little bit of home improvement stuff, small pet supply section, good sized first aid and vitamin/medicine section and household cleaning supplies with decent variety. Store is decent size and well lit. Aisles are easy to navigate. read more

This an an update to the man that sent the note to me. First I do have right address and your exceptional experience is not my experience. I dont believe its just my account they are messing up. I stand by original review. I have since been back nothing has changed except lines are longer and cashiers ate grumpier. The last time I went I had text my RX was ready waited in line 15 minutes got yo cashier she said it wasnt there. Went to drop off and pharmacist said it was. I should have read Yelp earlier on this Pharmacy, used to go here when it was Longs, now there always is a long line, if your doctor faxes in prescription call in to see if it is ready because if you go in, you will wait in line, and find they haven't started it yet. Last night after my second visit to get same prescription, and waiting again in a long line, somehow my insurance didn't go through and they charged me $150 for a scrip that should have been $7. read more

Terrible. They said my prescription would be ready on the 10th and then when I went to pick up they said the 11th and when I went to pick up they told me they had no prescriptions for me. Be careful about stated prices, they will typically ring up wrong or the fine print makes what you think you are paying for NOT what you are paying for. This pharmacy is AWESOME!! Their new pharmacy pickup app is so secure they scan your pickup barcode at the register and it shows up your account. I was able to see what was ready with my copay, process one more refill and request a prescription fax to my doctor. Best part it's FREE I LOVE the team over here, they really do care in such a busy place. Thank you CVS!! I would recommend you all to make this your preferred pharmacy in town truly. read more

This pharmacy is so bad it prompted my first yelp review. Waiting, waiting, waiting in a long line - and that is just to drop off a script. Then, waiting, waiting, waiting in yet another long line to pick up a script already ready for me. They won't let you do both transactions without waiting in two separate lines. Even when a man came in with crutches! I've been there in non-peak hours and it's the same thing. Oh they lost our script - not once but twice in three months! Worse - our friend said they gave her the wrong medicine - mislabeled. Fortunately she figured it out since she was familiar with it and looked it up online. They barely apologized and she could have easily become sick or worse. Remember hearing about having to wait in long lines for bread in Russia? Just go here. Updating my 2014 review made after CVS took over from Longs. They remodeled. The lighting is improved. They stopped carrying common Olay products. The lines move at a snail's pace. They still attach 4 feet of litter to your receipt. Finding large (not giant) BandAids takes a long time because the packages seem designed to obscure the size(s) in the box. CVS seems committed to making the shopping experience hard. Now that the Olay product I use as a daily moisturizer is AWOL, there is little reason to go to this store. I got what I needed at Walgreen's online. CVS chased me into the arms of online drugstore shopping. I see that last month Consumer Reports rated them 2nd from the bottom on a list of approx 25 chain drugstores. Not surprised. read more

I have nothing bad to say about this pharmacy. I have been here for years and they have always been helpful and the lines are no longer than anywhere else. Most of the time there is either no line or a very short line when I go in. The pharmacy managers have always been helpful and friendly and they work very hard. The staff in the pharmacy is always friendly and have gone the extra mile many times. While I understand others have been giving lower ratings it sounds like most of them are upset with the CVS store area and the fact CVS has a lot of stores here. I haven't had the same experience, but I do wish certain items didn't have to be locked up like in the electronic and dental isle. But, for the pharmacy manager and staff I give them 5 stars. read more

This store is understaffed, dirty, poorly stocked and the employees dazed. It's as if they know that you have to stop there for a prescription - and they don't have to try to make it a pleasant shopping experience whatsoever. Filling a prescription is THE only reason to go inside. I avoid it at all costs and have been know to drive to the competition on Calle Real in Goleta. One and only plus is that the pharmacy staff is pleasant and most often efficient. read more

I am an RN, and once caught a mislabeled bottle of meds your pharmacist gave a costumer and intervened before they took it. This was a bottle of Aspirin 325 Mg tabs with an Rx label attached stating 'acetaminophen 325 Mg, take 2 tabs every four hours as needed for pain'. This was a person who is on a prescription blood thinner that interacts with aspirin causing severe inability to form blood clots, and taking your mislabeled drug would most likely have caused him to bleed to death, or at least suffer severe and life threatening harm. read more

I'm not sure why this CVS gets such poor reviews. I have been here several times and have always been able to get what I need for a good price. The staff are very helpful and the pharmacy also provides quality, prompt service. They have a great card selection and nail polish collection (you can tell what I find important!). The pharmacy constantly disappoints! I received a message about linking my monthly medication refills to one pick up per month instead of my current 2 times per month. Called back and spent 18 minutes on hold with just about a 3 minute conversation. They don't even know what they are offering! Turned out my current 2 month pick up is the best they can do. Hello? Literally the worst pharmacy. I live nearby so occasionally I'll get suckered into thinking "this time it won't be worst" and yet, it always is. If you can go anywhere else, go elsewhere. They are wildly inefficient and painfully slow. Even after you get the text letting you know your prescription is ready, it's a long and painful journey to finally getting it. God this place is the worst pharmacy I have every been too, they are extremely disorganized. I had to call and go in about three times just because they told me I had no refills on my prescription that I knew I had a whole year left on it. Each time I went in they said they where calling Walgreen, then when I tried to call it in it wasn't there after the 5th time of talking to them I finally got it settled. And on my last visit I asked for a bag to carry out my four items (one including a private item I didn't want to walk out of the store just caring) and the girl gave me a bad time about asking for a bag.. read more

This CVS is doing the people of Santa Barbara a dis-service for existing. I also had a horrible experience here. I was told to wait for a prescription that they never even checked to see if they had. I waited 30 minutes, but it could have been longer if I didn't check back so frequently. They kept telling me 10 more minutes. Anyway, they didn't have it and they wouldn't have it for another day 1/2. All this after telling them I had to get home to my sick dad and kids. They suck so bad. I think the Rite Aid on the mesa seems to be good. read more

I recently visited this cvs store to find a sunscreen and came across a very rude employee. I usually never have problems with anybody but found it hard to even be in the store with this lady after she yelled at me for opening the lid and smelling the sunscreen immediately accusing me of "using the product". I found it funny because i have been accused of this before but felt the need to tell people after it happened a second time. I was very nice to the lady and explained to her what i was doing and she still decided to be rude and told me to never do that again. Really love the feature that they auto refill medication, and they send you text that it's ready. So this morning I got a text that my meds were ready and it was last day to pick up. Pharmacy not so busy when I got there, they had 2 registers open. I come up to register give her my info, she walks back to get it, but guess what? She can't find it, she asks me again, did we text you about it? Me: Yes, I can show you the text! She walks all around a arching for them, row after, row, walks to all other areas, comes back to computer to check name and nothing. This is like 10 minutes I'm waiting, I keep myself busy with my phone, but notice there's a big line now behind me. She still not finding them, then she ask the girl at next register for help, she takes over that customers and this other girl comes to check name/info on computer and goes to look, it took her less than 30 seconds to find them... so why could the other girl not find them???? So then she apologizes for taking so long, at this point what can I do? I pay and finally got on my merry way. So something that would have taken me 3 minutes took me over 15, please cvs train your employees property, this wasn't just affecting me, but also the 5-6 people waiting in line behind me. read more

I ordered a prescription by phone. Showed up at the store. I waited in the line that spanned about 35 people long. I then finally got to the counter. They had no idea about the prescription. They then directed me to the "consultation area" to figure out what's going on. There were about 15 people experiencing the same problem in that line. I finally got through to a young woman who was in training. She was friendly but didn't really know what was going on. 15 minutes of searching later she found my information. At this point she realized that the printer wasn't working. We then had to move to another computer and re do the same process. They told me they would have to fill it and they would call me when it's done. 30 minutes later of consistently checking my blood pressure I decided to check on what's going on. I waited in the consultation line once again. This line had 5 people in it. After another 15 minutes I final was told that it was ready. I was told that she could not ring me up. I would have to get into the pickup line. There were now about 30 people on the pickup line. I'm on hour 2.5 hours in lines and am writing this review with 3 people still in front of me. I am considering if dying would be less frustrating. This place has 2 employees to take care of about 50 people in lines. They are clearly too cheap on labor costs and could care less about their customers pulling their hair out. I would avoid and go to the medicine shoppe or another pharmacy. read more

Really? Just need to leave this place behind. I live nearby, so would like to make it a stop for toiletries and other products. But it's so frustrating when items are constantly out of stock. Almost every time I stop there, I am out of luck. Especially when it's a featured product, on sale, and it's not there. They say well we sold out today. I say, it hasn't been here for three days. Absolute WORST customer service I have ever experienced. Worst manager, Pam Quirke and worst pharmacist I have ever dealt with, Tara Medel. Both extremely rude, sarcastic, and should not be working in this type of field considering they do not know how to serve their customers in the appropriate manner. They were reported to corporate immediately due to the awful experience I was confronted with. Hands down worst pharmacy visit I have ever had. I was in tears leaving the store due to the amount of frustration I had with these two both pounding on me. I will no longer be going to this CVS and I will be spreading the word. read more

The only reason I use this pharmacy is because they are close, but after today I will avoid them and go the extra mile to anywhere else. They are rude, uncaring, slow and way way overpriced. Both Brianna and her colleague Sue were so informative and went above and beyond, which I really appreciated! Then it took an hour to get everything filled, while other employees worried more about clocking out then helping anyone, and I was one of over 20 people treated the same way while I was there.
