This is not my usual Costco but I stopped by to check out the products they carry for cats in their pharmacy area. I received stellar service from Chris in the pharmacy area. He was able to assist me and answer all the questions I had. Great service as always! I also stopped to make a return and the employee who assisted me was great! There was a lady from the Oxi laundry soap who was handing out samples, but carried a rather direct tone. All the other associates who were offering samples were very friendly, just the other lady seemed to be off-putting. read more

Most of the products are similiar to what I can find at my local Costco in Orange County, but regardless, it's always fun to look. Hugo completely let a customer down and left me sitting for almost 20min after he failed to follow through with the cashier request to retrieve a freezer. 30min went by before I actually got a carry out. We literally had to ask 3 times after Hugo dropped the ball. Absolutely unacceptable service for a membership your charged for. read more

They moved the produce, as they usually do with all products to keep you going up and down the aisles looking for the item you need. It's wild & busy coz it's a Saturday but the lines are moving pretty quickly. Took advantage of the time while hubby was draining the lizard (LoL, sometimes I think it's funny how he says these idioms). Going into Costco is like an adventure & discovery. Erin Sieglock, Assistant Vice President, Costco Wholesale Optical Operations has banned me for life at all Costco Optical locations in the U.S. The reason stated refers to a letter and phone calls made in 2022. She does not elaborate but l have the two voicemails and transcripts from the referenced date. The voicemails are cordial and innocuous. The incident in 2022 involves the return of glasses with a half inch darkened stripe down the middle of a transition lens. The eyeglasses were replaced without incident. When I presented this information to Ms. Sieglock, she changed her reason for the ban to an unidentified incident that occurred in 2017 - over eight years ago but she refused to elaborate. I suggested that Costco was retaliating for an incident with the on-site optometrist when she dilated my wife's eyes without her express permission, made a incorrect diagnosis, and prescribed an expensive drug (off label) that my wife did not need. The optometrist did not provide a translator as required by law. Ms Sieglock said that the optometrist "is an independent optometrist and not employed by Costco". However, Dennis Davenport, VP of Costco Los Angeles Region state that the optometrist was hired by Costco. She has an office within Costco 20 feet away from the optical department and has an official Costco email address. I appealed Ms Sieglock's decision to the CEO of Costco, Ron Vachris via registered mail but did not receive a reply. Also contacted the whistleblower team at Costco. No response. I have been a member of Costco for over 35 years and have always had great relations with all employees and managers including Meg Vega, manager of Costco Goleta. How does this Costco NOT have a gas station? :( we did a circle around the building and no gas station. Finally we decided, well, if we're here, might as well take a bio break and look around the store for rain boots. We didn't find any at all. I was looking for a specific sparking wine. a very large selection but didn't see the one I wanted. We came across a nice employee pushing the carts outside and confirmed for us there was no gas station but did give us a couple recommendations on where we could go. read more

Great prescription eye glasses. I had three pairs done. Costco needs to put a couple more partners(service people) in their optical shop. I took a while longer that I would like but worth the wait. I went to a highly recommended shop before and wasn't happy with the end product. They didn't have many costumers (me) but they were slow and unable to show me all the shaded lens available. Costco found me a much needed specialized feature on a frame for me. Many thanks for that. Costco needs to have a dedicated person for people picking up frames. Costco gives us the best value as we know. But it has other merits as well. It is in a convenient location with a lot of parking. Employees are cheerful and helpful. The store and restroom is clean. After having a mediocre experience with big brand tires I decided to get new tires at Costco. It took a few days for my tires to arrive and the appointment took about 2 1/2 hours. Staff was friendly, efficient and the new tires perform much better than the old ones- big brand which lasted only 15k miles. Costco will also rotate, balance and repair flats at no cost AND the tires are filled with nitrogen which stabilizes the tire's inflation pressure more efficiently than regular air. Just another way that Costco makes our lives easier. read more

Not for tires. Its a chain store with everything you would expect from this brand (Costco). No different from any other Costco I suppose, except the tire center. But DON'T get your tires installed here. Nice, capable people but severely understaffed and even with an appointment I waited 2 hours for them to install 2 tires. The car sat outside for 1.5 of those hours before they brought it in. I could hear staff telling people they could take a walk in but it could be up to a 3 hour wait. This is clearly a 30 min job. They are clearly understaffed or taking too many appointments. It is abusive to the customer (actually a MEMBER) as well as their employees to do this to people. Its not fair. I ran into another customer who said "I normally go to Ventura and they have their stuff together, less than an hour, this is ridiculous". I know the common thinking about Costco is that one store is the same as another but this is not so. Like Human Being: we are all of the same species yet we are not all the same. This was my first time at Costco SB/Goleta and i was impressed by not only the cleanliness of all of the public spaces, including Restrooms but also the floors and shelving. Things that i know most do not examine yet i do having been in the Retail business for many years. This is a Big store as far as space and square footage are concerned as opposed for example the Los Feliz Costco which is my "Home" store which is much smaller. But more space means more attention to the merchandising and cleanliness. And this store is spotless. Product selection-wise i didn't see much difference except for a local vendor, Taco Works Tortilla chips which i bought. Service is that patented Costco Service of stay out of the way unless asked for. And by this i mean you are hard pressed finding anyone to answer a question except maybe in the "Service" departments as in Pharmacy,Bakery, Wine, Meat and of course the Snack Bar . And then it is warm and personal. If i see someone stocking a shelf i asked about the location of something of which i am looking, no problem. Question: why does Costco not believe in Product signwork per aisle. Yes there are numbers but Aisle content signage would really help. For some reason this store was not busy and so there was plenty of time to look around and check out was a breeze. I was also able to clear up an issue with my Membership at a no wait customer Service counter. Good shopping experience here today. Cheers! read more

Costco has been a household staple in my life since I was a kid. I'm happy to see that there's a variety in the selection of Asian goods now compared to a few years back - with things like the Korean Samyang Buldak ramen (hot chicken ramen), NongShim Tonkotsu ramen, a-A-Sha Tainan noodle, seaweed salad, and Hawaiian poke (only available fri-sun)!! Only thing I wish was that there was Costco gas here :( But other than that, catch me stocking up on household/restroom goods, the food stuff above, fresh fruits, frozen fruits for smoothies, and the occasional food court items. I'm just glad there's a Costco here :) The reason for my review really is about the poke here - the fish is FRESH and not the typical highlighter pink tuna you'd see at a build your own place. I've only seen Costco serve poke in Hawaii so to have even just one option here is AWESOME and I've gotten it at least 6x. I buy seaweed salad as well to make a fresh poke bowl at home, prepping some sushi rice, and avocado. I also like to get bottled ponzu (I found some at sprouts) sriracha, and wasabi to tie it all together. It makes for an awesome and affordable treat yourself meal that I have yet to get sick of. The chicken bacon sandwich is the most terrible item any establishment serves. I ordered one today from the food court thinking it would be nice and warm and it was a hastily thrown together sandwich. It was absolutely terrible. Who doesn't love Costco? Many of the items are too big for our family of 4 but we still find a way to spend plenty of $$$ each trip. Typically we stock up on meat such as tri tip, steak, and chicken and then we freeze it. We also like that they have good prices on organic fruit (our children plow through fruit!). The alcohol has great prices for liquor, wine, and beer. We usually try a different pre-cooked item each time we go- lately we have been getting the carnitas, Kevin's meals, rotisserie chicken, and bagged salads! Parking can be tricky and they need to bring back the churros.... read more

Stopped by while in the Santa Barbara area to shop. It's fun to go to different costco stores and see what different items they have. I found some good local wines and beers I can't find where I live. They also had a Kirkland coffee I never saw before. I'm a big Costco fan so it's always a great experience. read more

We are loyal Costco members and hoping to buy some of their stock soon- we have been shopping here for over 30 years and it is the best customer service, quality of products etc. Today our Pet Revolution- Bissell machine decided to stop working at less than two years old. We called Costco and spoke with the most amazing young man Anthony-they're picking up the machine between today and tomorrow and issuing a refund. How easy is that- Costco is the absolute BEST!!!! If you're not a member, do yourself a huge favor and become a member, and search for everything on Costco, you will be pleasantly surprised at all the items you can find for household needs, the yard, etc. etc. GOO COSTCO!! :))) read more

It's your typical Costco warehouse (but no gas station) with local stuff and rotating road shows Best Costco in SoCal area. Burbank, Alhambra, Los Feliz... all those Costco's are packed all the time! This Costco is usually packed more on weekends but even with all the people in the store, it's not as bad as LA and the lines move fast. Parking is not bad. I always find parking when I visit. Wish this Costco had: gas station, earlier tire rotation opening hours, executive members having better perks like being able to shop at 9am-10am before all members can come in. read more

Went one Saturday and saw an employee on one of those cleaners come within 1 foot of hitting an elderly woman! Does Costco management know that the bones of elderly people are brittle? Do they care??? They will if there is a lawsuit! I'm not elderly but if I were hit and injured I would DEFINITELY sue. Now let's talk hygiene. Costco's main dog policy is restricted to service dogs according to their website (since they sell food). However, Goleta Costco management allows non service dogs. Guess they are not worried about the spread of salmonella from dog saliva, or feces from their feet. read more

With all the headline news about the virus threat and long lines at SB and Goleta stores I was expecting a scene out of Mad Max Thunderdome on today's visit, but was pleasantly surprised by a line of about only a couple dozen people, all with their masks on, some with plastic gloves on, and excited to get into the store. There were also handy signs posted alerting us that ALL paper products, baby wipes, and rice products were "out of stock." We were all lined up like good soldiers, with a nice friendly staff member handing out disinfectant towelettes to clean off all the Corona germs off our empty carts. I gladly let a nice young man wipe down my cart, he was quite thorough as he went from top to bottom, inside and out, and even wiped off the little red flappy-flap in the seat part that keeps jars of pickles or bottles of personal hygiene products from falling through to the floor. After a 40 minute wait to get in we all kept our distancing, flashed our CostCo cards and I made a dash for the inner sanctum. The store was not very crowded, with plenty of elbow room to move from aisle to aisle. Did not notice any shortage of food items, or any empty shelves, and people were happily plucking everything and filling their carts. Employees all around were busy restocking and keeping busy. Special shout-out to employee Troy, a handsome young man who went above and beyond the call of duty in helping me find a couple items I needed. I was actually looking for two items and he happily grabbed on to my cart and directed me to the needed aisles. He also mentioned that with my limited items it would be best to use the self-check-out machines. And sure enough he was right, as the regular check out lanes were pretty well packed with carts and pallets full of items. I was in and out in a flash, and was looking forward to getting home to use my newly purchased items. On the way out the Food Court, which is usually packed with hunger-ravaged shoppers, was pretty empty since they have also removed all the table and chairs. They were also out of the pizza selections and were only serving their tasty hot dogs. My faith in humanity was once again restored as I could see how we all can work together to make it through this dangerous virus-filled time, one shopping cart at a time. read more

The same people have been working there forever and are super friendly and give great service. The value of good are amazing from spices, food to pharmacy are the best.
