I felt absolutely miserable one Saturday morning. I knew I needed antibiotics for a sinus infection, but was not in the mood for Urgent Care. Cue CVS tagline stuck in my head "Visit the Minute Clinic" Hmmm. Alright let's try this out. This CVS is the closest one to me with a Minute Clinic, but there are a lot more out there. I walked in and was greeted by a giant touch screen. I typed in my info and was shown a check in list with my name as number 3. Really? That's it? Okay.... I chatted with another woman waiting who probably gave me the plague, but whatever I used the free antibacterial at the door so I'm probably covered, right? I waited about 45 minutes and was called in by the nurse practitioner. That's the thing about the Minute Clinic, it's a one woman show. There is no secretary running your insurance or checking you in. You check yourself in and your Nurse Practitioner does everything else including paperwork and she does it in front of you....not bad for 45 minutes. She examined me and we decided on antibiotics and some pain meds. She scanned my license and insurance and gave me a receipt. Anything not covered by insurance will be billed to me, but get this, no matter what it will not be over $116. Why? Because Minute Clinic doesn't up-charge for anything. They charge for the visit, tests and that's it. She also offered to send my prescriptions electronically to any pharmacy I wanted, including the one in the store so I could shop or sit or pass out or whatever until my meds were done. She asked if there was anything else she could do for me and said that someone would be calling me in 3 days to check on me. My own doctor doesn't even do that. I'm sure that I will be back, the Minute Clinic takes care of a lot of things from sprains and cuts to physicals. read more

I'm pretty sure the pharmacy staff are sadists. I once saw an old man at the counter being told that his medication was no longer available. He seemed confused and asked why no one had informed him before he came in to the store. I felt really bad for him and hoped it wasn't an important medication... Yesterday morning at 11 am my doc ordered me a prescription for a Medrol pack to relieve excruciating back pain I've been suffering for a few days. I stopped in after work to pick it up, and the CVS pharmacy tech told me the medication "isn't available". I asked why they hadn't called to let me know so that I could go to another pharmacy. The rep just repeated that it "isn't available" and told me that they were waiting to hear back from my doctor regarding a replacement medication. It was after 5 pm at that point and my doctor's office was closed so I had no choice but to wait until the next morning to figure out what was going on. The next morning, I called two pharmacies, and BOTH had it. When I called my doc to have the script transferred, I asked whether CVS had contacted them to tell them there was a problem with the med. They said they never heard a word. The moral of the story: I could have avoided one extra sleepless night of pain if the people at CVS had the decency to make my health a higher priority than their bottom line. My boyfriend and I mistakenly thought this was a 24 hour CVS and walked in at like 11:59pm to buy a wrist brace and were greeted by a man behind the counter bellowing "CLOSED". Our mistake for sure, but there are better ways to handle that then screaming at customers. Plus, at least when I worked retail, the store wasn't closed until the doors were closed, which they were not in this case. We've been there a couple times and experienced some other rude behavior from other employees too. read more

This cvs location is the closest one with a one-minute clinic. I use this facility to get my cholesterol checked. Since I pay my own medical costs it's cheaper than getting the tests done at a doctor's office. Besides for anybody who has this test one has to fast for a 12 hour period. So usually I have some hunger pangs and rush over to a nearby fast food joint and scarf down some chow. The test itself cost $45 and they prick your finger to draw blood so it's less accurate. They provide other simple medical procedures like flu shots and these places work on a first come first serve basis. By the way if the drugs don't seem to work try flaxseed in your diet read more

This review is for the MinuteClinic. I came here after my irritated eye became so bad I couldn't keep it open. The nurse practitioner's name is Spring, and she was amazing. I was convinced it was an infection, but after asking me a few questions and doing an initial exam, she told me it was a corneal abrasion. Unfortunately, the clinic didn't have the proper equipment to look behind my eye, but Spring gave me a list of places I could try, and didn't charge me for the exam. She was so kind and patient, and even called me the day after to make sure I had taken care of my eye. The optometrist I ended up seeing confirmed Spring's diagnosis, and now my eyes are as good as new. read more

Although this store is open 24 hours, I give this place 1 star only. Often times when I come here with my fiance, initially cashier employees would not take my printed on line coupons. I would have to argue with them to take them and tell them that these coupons were printed from the manufacturer's website. If it scans, then what's the problem? There was this one cashier who worked at night, I don't remember his name at the moment, but he was tall and thin Caucasian guy who was probably in his mid 20's. He was a douche, big time. He was rude and always questioned me where I got my coupons because I would work the extra bucks system really well and get a a lot of those extra bucks printed out. He would also say random rude things of whatever he was thinking... and it's like I don't need your commentary when you scan my cough drops or batteries. But this place is a pretty big CVS store and the aisles are clean and usually stocked. There is plenty of parking as well and plenty of carts and baskets by the front door. But if you ever actually have to interact with one of the employees here, then it sucks. read more

If there was a way to rate them -5 stars I would. This is the absolute worst Pharmacy I have ever dealt with. Better hope you don't need your exact prescription, because they will give you a generic without informing you that they're switching it out, even if your prescription CLEARLY STATES DO NOT SUBSTITUTE. And worse than that, they don't care if they give you the wrong medication. They're perfectly happy to leave you screwed. Do not go here if you want things to be correct, because they certainly won't be and they do not care at all. The pharmacists are rude and tell you that it's your fault not theirs if they don't carry a medication that they told you they had. They also will not refund your money if you walk away from the counter - if you have to go somewhere else for the correct medication, you get to pay twice for your prescription. I will never go to this pharmacy again, this is not the first time they've done this to me, but it will be the last time. read more

This review is for the Minute Clinic. My son needed a TB test stat to go to a new daycare so I can start my new job. It was Saturday, so the regular doctor's office was not an option. I was going to go to the urgent care, but the one I usually go to shut down. So I decided to take him to the CVS Minute Clinic. We arrived 5 minutes before their posted lunch break was due to end, so I signed in at the computer kiosk and we waited. We were the first on the list, so we were seen right away. The little exam room was cute and clean. The doctor/nurse practitioner (not sure which one) was very good with my son and got the TB stuff injected in his arm quickly and with minimal problems. I was really impressed. Then she took my payment of $28. I thought it was a bit high, since my last TB test at the urgent care cost $25. But oh well, it was quick and almost painless so I cheerfully paid it. Two days later we returned to have the TB test read. There were no other patients there, so we were seen right away. They had his test read before I finished signing him in. Then they told me that it would be $28. I responded that I had already paid when we had the injection the other day. Nope. This clinic actually charges you twice, once to get the injection and again to have it read. Nobody has EVER charged me to have a TB test read. You usually just show them your arm and they sign the paperwork and off you go. So the test that was going to be a somewhat high $28 was now going to cost me a sky high $56. And if I didn't pay I couldn't get the paper saying my son does not have tuberculosis. I feel that this was very misleading at best. I will never return to the clinic. read more

Despite the staff of 5-6 people working in the pharmacy, here is a list of all the things I had to wait for to pick up a simple prescription: -Wait on the phone as I am put on permahold when I call to make sure they have my prescriptions -Get hung up on and call again only to be put on hold again -Wait in line to pick up -Get referred to another person to use my coupon. He tells me to have a seat and wait while they process my coupon -Wait in line again once they figure out the coupon so that I can pay and hold the meds in my hot little hands -Wait for the person who tells me about my prescription read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. A pharmacy and a pharmacist is meant to provide service. In the case of insurance problems or urgent needs, the law states that the professional judgment of a pharmacist can take over. No company will fire you if you give a patient a couple tablets until their mail-order prescription arrives. CVS Pharmacy and CVS pharmacists do not take into account the human component, and dismiss any patient that can not afford medication. I feel sorry for the people that rely on CVS for their prescription needs. read more

Pros: CVS is everywhere, so there is probably a location near you. parking is usually pretty good at most locations. Apart from OTC drugs, prescription drugs and health//personal care items, you can get other things here. Most every location has milk, beer, sodas, snacks and other junk food. Cons: just about everything else, especially price. This place is way too overpriced! Even using a 20% off coupon I've had to pay more than if I went to a big discount retailer, such as Target. This location is a newer store that appears clean and well stocked. The pharmacy technicians I've dealt with, and cashiers, have been friendly and helpful. read more

This review is for the pharmacy. You would think if you were going to call every pharmacy in the area to see if they had a certain medication in stock, that you could possibly take my(the only person waiting) prescription drop off before doing so. Instead of saying okay it will be ready in 30 minutes I never got to talk to anyone and got to watch them make numerous calls to other locations. I walked out after watching this for 10 minutes which my prescription would have been 1/3 of the at done getting filled. It was nice to call around for that old man but he wasn't going anywhere fast. I got one of the best deals I've ever gotten a couple of weeks ago. So I had a coupon for BOGO Right Guard deodorant, price not to exceed $4.49. The normal retail price is $4.49, but this location had them marked down to 2/$5 and when I got to the checkout the cashier gave me the full value of the coupon! I only had to pay 51¢ plus tax on both, for a total of 95¢ for two sticks of deodorant! I was so happy that I literally was telling people about this. That guy saved me almost $3! I definitely recommend this store for quick and easy things! Who knows what sort of deals they might give you. read more

Went online to specifically make sure my local CVS did passport pics and then showed up ans was told the camera was broken. Sent to another store with the instructions to call first, so I did. Was told to show up in the next half hour so someone could specifically help with the pics. We showed up 10 minutes later and waited around for quite awhile while photo person "may be on break." Once we finally got to take the pics, they turned out very poor quality: OLD digital camera that took awhile to actually capture the pic, which was difficult with a 5 year old who tried to "smile on three" but the camera was so outdated it lagged. The color turned out super bright too, and I am hoping the passport people will accept. On top of the store hopping and long wait, the employees (except the lady who FINALLY) took out pics were bordering RUDE. Will not visit this or other CVS again. Oh yeah, and $28 for two sets of passport pics?! Are you kidding me?! read more

Jane L's review pretty much says it all. I went there last night to buy some last minute Christmas cards. Asked about the location of the restroom and was told it was out of order. I asked both restrooms? I was told they only had one. I am pretty sure that was a lie. Went back to my shopping and the check out was a disaster. Everyone seemed to be on drugs and I don't mean aspirin. What an ordeal. Next year I will get extra cards and avoid this dilemma. Only saving grace is that parking it convenient. This is a 24 hour store which is the ONLY reason I go there. The one star belongs to one pharmacist who is very nice & helpful. The no stars for everyone else including a very rude employee who yelled at me across the store "the restroom is closed for cleaning" bcz I went to the trash by the restroom to dispose of a tissue. She assumed I was going in rather than using the nearby trash. I didn't point out that I can read & wasn't going in. Tonight I went for antibiotics called in earlier. They were called to Bellflower CVS & the tech said they can't transfer bcz it's closed. They have the SAME computer system! That is unacceptable. I'm in the medical profession & understand computer links & pharmacy laws. UPDATE YOUR SYSTEM & get more employees like the one nice pharmacist!! & thanks, now I will stay sick all night! read more

I went in there to get a Qsymia prescription filled. I've been going there for 7 years. Clara treated me like criminal and told me that this a controlled substance. She told me she couldn't fill it because I'm a cash patient. I am NOT a cash patient. I have excellent insurance, which is on file with them no less. Qsymia contains a low dose of phentermine. Phentermine is available at every weight loss clinic. This contains topirimate in a small dose to counteract the headaches that phentermine sometimes can cause. Anyway, she was very rude, and unprofessional. I didn't even care if it was filled, it was the way she was talking down to me like I was going to sell it. Furthermore I'm sure it has no street value. Maybe if she gets tired of being a pharmacist she can get a job as a mall cop. read more

This is the worst CVS location I have ever been to. I went in at 9 AM and left at 9:45 AM. All I had to do was pick up the asthma prescription my doctor had sent over. The young pharmacist woman, name starts with a Y, told me to wait 15 minutes. I waited 35 minutes. After sitting and waiting for 35 minutes I got up and asked the young woman what was taking so long and if my prescription was ready yet. She then handed me my bag of prescriptions which were sitting on the counter. I asked how long the bag was sitting on the counter, she told me "like 15 minutes". She saw me sitting there and did not inform me that my prescriptions were ready. I have yet to have a good experience at this location. Next time I am going to another pharmacy company. I would give this CVS negative stars if I could. read more

This is my home pharmacy. The staff is hot and cold. Sometime they're nice, sometimes they aren't. But the pharmacist are always very helpful. The sales here are pretty good too. The actual CVS staff here have always been pretty helpful and friendly. Location is convenient and they usually have what we need in stock. read more

The woman working was very rude and told me the machine didn't let me sign in. I said it did and told me I was second in line. She said, no it didn't. Really? Would I have really waited? I could've gone somewhere else. Next time I will. Learn some manners. You might be arrival professional but I have options and I would appreciate a little customer service.
