The last year had been a rollercoaster ride of finding a decent pharmacy... until I found Frank's. I didn't think it was possible to find a pharmacy where there would be staff who cared about customers and a store that was actually pleasant to walk into.... until I found Frank's. I was introduced to Frank's because of a specific medication that was out of stock at my usually store, and I had to call around for hours to find a pharmacy that carried it. The last store hadn't told me they were out of stock, but instead told me there would be a delay and told me my important Rx was out of stock on the day it was supposed to be ready. By the time I found Frank's, I was anxious and frustrated, so it was a breath of fresh air to be met with a kind and helpful voice on the other end of the call. We love Frank's Pharmacy! The store is super cute and convenient. The counter staff are amazing, especially Kelly. The pharmacists, especially Jason are super easy going and helpful. Jason is always cheerful and super efficient. I do have to say there is pharmacist that really spoils the experience at Frank's and her name is Hanna. Hanna is never helpful, and many times is a real pain. Recently I asked her to help me prepare for an upcoming trip and gave her my meds list. The next day I called her back to check how my request was coming along. She told me my insurance was not likely to authorize my vacation order until the last minute. Not wanting to cut it close, I asked her to tell me how much the cost would be so I could just pay out of pocket. She was too busy to help, and if you can believe it, actually said, "Don't call us, we'll call you." And then true to form she never called me back. Without Hanna, Franks would be a solid 5 star Yelp. There is a happy ending to my story thanks to Jason. I called days later and talked to pharmacist Jason. He was happy to help. As always. I feel very cared for by the highly professional, knowledgable, friendly and thoughtful staff at Frank's Pharmacy. They even keep a stash of doggie biscuits behind the counter. Frank's is far above any other pharmacy I have used, and any time I have needed extra help they have given it, or taken the time to explain why they can not. Pharmacies in this state are very over regulated and our insurance companies contol a lot of our prescription medication distribution. While my wife is sick with Covid, the counter person at Frank's informs me that they don't carry Paxlovid. My wife's doctor perfomed a clinical assesment and prescribed Paxlovid. The doctor's office sent the presription to Frank's. We have been getting our medications from Frank's for many years. Very disappointing when your spouse is sick and a pharmacy you have used for years lets you down. This caused a day's delay in treatment for my wife. Naturally, we will take our business elsewhere. Note: Most of the staff has treated us well. When i look for a reason they do not carry Paxlovid, the logical one is that they are not rembursed quickly enough. read more

I thought this was our new favorite local independent pharmacy. Sure, the hours aren't the same as CVS or Rite Aid, but they seemed to care about us individuals and we had that "small-town feel" every time we visited. Until today. The pharmacy manager said they won't fill my prescription because my doctor is in SF which is "too far away" (never mind they've done so in the past). And said with no empathy. Not to sound dramatic but Frank's Pharmacy has truly been life altering for me. For medication I require they have made it seamless to acquire. They are so pleasant and go the extra mile. Probably the worst pharmacy in Santa Cruz County. Every visit there is a new problem with this pharmacy. The prescription is rarely ready, in other cases they "cannot find the prescription", "we'll call you back" and rarely do, and so on. I used this pharmacy for a while. I didn't get a prescription that I've ordered. When asked to understand why I didn't get the prescription, I spoke with an employee/manager who decided to investigate me (I'm the customer and I didn't get a prescription, right?) He asked me "how come you didn't take the prescription last month?" He also said that "he entered my address in Google Maps, and there's no house in this address", implying that I'm lying/providing false information, etc. In other words: the pharmacy blames its own customers to be criminals and deceiving the pharmacy. Very sketchy pharmacy, to say the least!!! read more

I was searching local pharmacies for a needed medication which is currently unavailable from the manufacturer. Therefore, staff had to be knowledgeable about their inventory, accurate, and efficient in delivering on their assessment. People always remark about small, local businesses that "they know your name." Usually it's an exaggeration. At Frank's, they actually, really know your name--it felt like I had stumbled into the twilight zone. Plus, transferring prescriptions from other pharmacies is super easy, as is calling in refills/picking up prescriptions/everything. As a girl with a pesky brain that has required prescription drugs since the age of 10, it's a huge relief to find a pharmacy in Santa Cruz where you don't have to wait in line behind four homeless people, and can have a genuinely pleasant interaction with the pharmacist. read more

I was so tired of all the issues and impersonal service at CVS and then I heard about Frank's Pharmacy. I transferred all of my prescriptions there and I haven't regretted it. The staff is kind, helpful, and after 2 recent surgeries- they delivered my refills to my door when I couldn't drive to pick them up. The folks at Frank's Pharmacy treat me like family, they're always happy to see me and I always leave the store feeling better than when I went in. The staff all get along great, you can feel the good vibes the second you walk into the store. They gladly answer your medication-related questions like: the drug's purpose, what it treats, how it works, potential side-effects and how the drug interacts with other medications, vitamins and food. They're the fastest pharmacy in the area, hands down, no contest. The average wait time is 15 minutes when a prescription is dropped off in person, but many times, it's ready even sooner. If they don't have all of the medication in stock that day, they'll give you a partial and fill the rest the next day. Most pharmacies won't fill a partial prescription. The biggest change I've noticed in the past year or two are Frank's low competitive prices, in fact they're now on par with the big-chain pharmacies. Frank's new store, located about 30 yards down from the old one is roomier and stocked with a lot more items. Frank's Pharmacy is a life saver. My husband and I have been evacuated from our home for a week because of the fires. I don't know how long it will last. I messaged Sutter to send a prescription of all mine and my husband's meds but they couldn't find a pharmacy that would take our insurance, Anthem Blue Cross. Finally Boulder Creek Pharmacy messaged me that Frank's Pharmacy and an affiliate in Watsonville would handle them. I called Frank's and they told me that they would take care of it. They did plus the even called my insurance company to get them to cover 3 meds that had been filled just a couple of weeks ago. Disappointed that they left a voicemail for me last Thursday informing me that my prescription was ready for me to pickup, but would only be held for one week, only to go in the following Thursday and have them tell me they don't have it available. I've been a customer of Franks for years . The speed of which the prescriptions are processed are usually really good . My complaint is the service front the woman that run the front counter. There are usually three woman that work the front counter. One out of three are pleasant to deal with. The other two are so grouchy and not friendly what so ever. They NEVER smile , they are super short and incredibly rude about 90% of the time . They always make me feel like I'm putting them out or bothering them when I come in. After being a long time customer, and putting up with the rude treatment for as long as I have , I'm done . I will be doing my business elsewhere from now on . Also , the parking lot is horrible. It's nearly impossible to ever find a spot to park . Oh one more thing...I got a flu shot there last year and it left a permanent lump on my arm.
