This was my first visit to this CVS location, and it was a relatively short one. Upon entering the store, I was greeted by a third-party security guard. However, this "welcome" felt less like customer service and more like customer profiling. The guard appeared focused on monitoring, documenting, and tracking the time, date, and movement of customers entering and leaving the store. I found this approach excessive and uncomfortable. After entering, I went to browse for the items I needed. During that time, I noticed that multiple refrigerator units appeared to have significant wear and maintenance issues. Several shelves were sparsely stocked or completely empty, leaving very few product options available. The beverage section, as well as many other items throughout the store, seemed overpriced for the area. As I continued through the store, I found the overall shopping experience increasingly uncomfortable. The selection of non-fresh, expired snack options was limited, and the narrow layout made it difficult to move through the aisles. Combined with the growing number of customers in and around the pharmacy area, the store felt crowded and congested. I did encounter one employee in passing who appeared polite and professional. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with all staff. While attempting to exit an aisle, another employee entered with a cart. Rather than moving aside to allow a customer to pass, the employee continued forward, forcing both of us into an unnecessarily tight space. It was inconsiderate and avoidable. I ultimately purchased three drinks, which cost approximately $10. When I proceeded to checkout, I was met with an employee's open bottle of water sitting in the checkout area, requiring customers to navigate around it. The cashier who assisted me was neither welcoming nor particularly professional. At the conclusion of the transaction, she asked whether I wanted a bag. When I replied, "Yes, that would be great, thank you," she responded by emphasizing that it was "just a paper bag." The comment felt unnecessary and strange, as I had already answered the question and had not expressed any concern about the type of bag being provided. After leaving the store, the security guard said goodbye or something similar. Upon reaching the parking lot, I noticed a fire truck parked in a manner that was blocking portions of the entrance and exit. There were no visible signs of an emergency, and the firefighters remained seated inside the vehicle. Overall, the store felt dated, dingy in appearance, and overdue for modernization. Between the excessive security presence, limited product selection, crowded layout, inconsistent customer service, and aging aesthetics, the experience was less than satisfactory. I would like to see meaningful improvements made to both the store environment and the customer experience. read more

This place has improved with the safety of the consumer. The biggest problem was the lightning exterior of the business parking lot area. And the panhandling in the dark parking lot. With the bright lights, today was a good day. Great job to the team at CVS. This place has not disappointed me on the sale on goods day to day basis. Keep it coming. For the loyal customer, we love it. I was able to grab a few items, especially the drinks(Celsius). I hope they stock up on more flavor. My go-to flavor is the Artic flavor. Please restock! Purposely false advertising. PURPOSELY. The wrapper of the wine bottle LOOKS like a twist off. LOOKS like. As soon as you take off the wrapper, it is NOT a twist off. There's a cork in it. I have no way of opening a cork. They are NOT willing to do refunds OR exchanges, EVEN if I pay the difference. Ok if you're NOT willing to do exchanges OR refunds then you should NOT false advertise. Also sucks their coupons on thier receipts are a scam. You have to use the coupon like THAT day or there is ALWAYS some excuse as to WHY you can't use their coupons. I gave up on using thier coupons a long time ago. read more

CVS stores are everywhere, and it's nice to go to one to pick up any missing items. In our case, it was toothpaste. Both of us use a specific type even within a specific brand, and can usually get a good deal at CVS. Their smartphone app is very good, allowing you to browse online and then create a virtual order that can be picked by the store employee. The items are then available for pick-up at the front registers. My wife has done this multiple times with success. Three problems on this visit, though: - due to loss prevention strategies at this location, there are no self-checkout registers at this store at all. This means everyone must go to a manned register, and since there was only one register manned (and the cashier was helping someone with a very complicated transaction for a while), we were 2nd in line for a long time. Only when the line got to be 5 deep, and consumer grumbling began to vociferate, did someone finally come to man a second register. - they replaced a product with a different one, from the same company. They do clearly state on the app that they can do this, but I think it's bad practice. We didn't realize this until we were already out of the store, now having to go back for a refund (there is a difference between regular Sensodyne and Pro-Enamel). - they take payment only when picked-up (which makes sense since they can change out the product as necessary, and would get in big trouble if we prepaid, and not got the products paid for). But because the coupon/rewards system is so elaborate at CVS, any change in product can nullify a coupon or discount. So even if the replacement product was acceptable, it might not get the same discount. And since the regular price for everything at CVS is high, you will not get a good deal if the right discounts don't apply. Honestly, I don't think the pick-up model works well at this location. Your inventory levels have to be very accurate to make Order On-line/Pick up in store successful. read more

On 10/29/24 I had dental work that included an extraction. My dentist was unable to call the prescription in as the line was repeatedly busy. I left the dentist office numb. By the time I reached this CVS the numbing was wearing off and I felt increasing pain. I put my prescription in to be processed and was told that it would be a 15-20 minute wait I sat down and waited., by the time my prescription was complete I was in incredible pain. One pharmacist in particular who was helping with the line noticed me in pain. All i could do was moan and hold my tears back. The line for pick up was growing and there were 2 cashiers. She called me to the middle register that was not being used. In that moment, she showed compassion and great customer service. She explained the medications and I was on my way. Her name is "Sei" I hoped I spelled it correctly! I stopped by to tell her about her compassionate customer service and she said I made her day. She made mine as well!! read more

I use this CVS for all of my families prescriptions. Well, I needed to pick up a prescription but when I called, I was told they were out of stock and needed to order more. It is now 16 days later. I've called a few times and always the same response - 'we haven't received the order'. I've asked if they could find another CVS that I could pick up from but they said no - in order for me to pick up the prescription from another CVS, I would have to have my doctor resubmit the prescription to that new location. But what if the new CVS was out of stock as well? I was told that if the new CVS is out of stock too then I'd have to have the prescription called in again to another CVS!? For a customer, this is not effective or helpful. I've read thru some of the other reviews and this seems like a common issue for this location. So sad to have consistent negative customer reviews with no provided solutions. read more

CVS pharmacy opens at 9am........Came at 9am because my prescription was sent since the day before while coming out of surgery. Went to the drive through and I'm told I have to wait 30 minutes and I cant wait at the window because there might be others getting their prescription. What sense does it make when I'm waiting as well. So I leave and come back at 9:15......I'm told I was not able to wait at the window. This review is for Carlos the supervisor or manager. I'm not exactly sure his position but I question his ability to be in his position. He is extremely unhelpful and extremely rude and short with you. I came into the store yesterday wanting to do a return with the receipt. The item was unopened. The cashier rung me up and the price for the return didn't match my receipt of what I paid for. It applied an employee discount during the return when it didn't accept the discount when initially purchased it. (Sale items don't get employee discounts.) however on the return it applies a discount to the amount i was supposed to get back. When the cashier was notified about this, she asked for Carlos help. He briefly turned his attention and said the remaining part will go back as a coupon since you used a coupon. Uhm.. no that wasn't the case. What they wanted to give me back was $15.49. What the original price of the item was $25.99, with my coupon, made it $19.49; with tax I paid $21.56 You see why I made a big deal? This was one item. So when I broke down the receipt, I ask if the cashier if she could just remove the discount or override it. She said no. My husband who works for the company then explains in details the steps to bypass and override it. And Carlos goes and literally says, "there is nothing I can do, what do you want me to do?" HELLO!!! It's your job to help the customer, find a solution. Use one of the solutions we suggested. I might've felt differently if all POS systems weren't the same and everything has the ability to override it to what needs to be done. But Carlos really just didn't have any interest of helping. You know what happened next? I went to store 9505 (CVS at the traffic circle) and THEY TOOK CARE OF ME! They ran it as no receipt, override it to be place the refund back onto the card I paid with. Gave me the extra bucks for the amount I used for the coupon. And just made note of the incident that happened. In conclusion, go to 9505 or 8876 (CVS on Willow and Long Beach Blvd) two other neighboring CVS I go to. BUT STAY CLEAR OF 9557 & CARLOS!!! And yes I will be doing the survey at the end of that long receipt that goes to the company so everyone is aware of Carlos and his horrible customer service. read more

Has got to be the worst pharmacy. I have had so many problems with them. One of the problems, first they first told me that I could get my medication filled by a certain date, then they changed it to another date, and then to top it off they tell me that the Dr never sent in a prescription for that medication to be filled, And they tell me this on a Sunday, so I can't even contact my Dr's office until the next day to ask my Dr to send the pharmacy the script when in reality I needed the medication in Saturday. Now I have to wait until Monday to see if I can get in touch with my Dr. But the pharmacist could have told me a long time ago that they didn't have a script for that medication. I'm writing this review for the CVS located at 1250 PCH in Long Beach, CA 90806. A couple days I went in to pick up a prescription that I hadn't refilled in a couple years. When I get to this location I noticed that their drive thru is still not operating. I go in and request my prescription and then I'm asked for a $45 copay. I inform the associate that I never pay a copay that high and he sends me to the check in window. That associate looks something up on the computer and tells me the same price info the other had just told me. I tell her that that is not my usual copay and she tells me to call my insurance. Then she tells the other associates that she's done for the day like I was the customer who pushed her over when she was no help at all! I call CVS Cinemark (my insurance), and in less than 5 minutes they tell me that I should ask for a 30 day supply switch instead of the 50 they were giving me and that would correct the copay. How much did I end up paying?: $0 Needless to say, I am going to be changing to a different location because the PCH/Orange one is not a good one anymore. read more

Extremely helpful and patient staff. They helped us transfer a perception from a Walgreens that would not take our insurance card. Then they got the doctor to update a part of that perception not covered by our insurance. Then they found out the update was sent to the wrong pharmacy. Then they got the update transferred to where we could use it. Every staff member was polite and helpful and understanding of the frustration we were dealing with. Keep in mind the pharmacy managed all this where the insurance and the Urgent Care wasn't able to help with any step. They did this with a smile while being berated by irate customers who were yelling at them about things like computer appointments not being set that were absolutely out of their control. It was my second time recieving medication from this pharmacy, I chose to ignore bad reviews because the first experience was seemingly good but I quickly see why those reviews matter. I came today because I was called and told my two medications were ready; and they were- however I was never informed of needing my ID to recieve my non narcotic medication- as I have NEVER needed it before, even the first time I picked it up HERE. I don't understand if it is a policy why the same employee (african american male) who told me "we have to scan your ID for this, its policy" allowed my male partner to pick up the medication the previous time with no mention of an ID whatsoever. It felt like bad practice. Additionally he was never apologetic to the "misconfusion" and simply looked at me and spoke to me like I was dumb for even attempting to get my medication. I was extremely out of breath and on the brink of an asthma attack by the end of this horrible transaction and still- no compassion from this employee. I don't know if he treated me poorly for being a woman: as my partners experience last time with the same african american man was good or if he just lacks safe medical practices and policies and human compassion. Either way I doubt I can return to this location for my own wellbeing and safety, and I do not think anyone else should either based on what I experienced and saw. As someone with a chronic illness I have to visit pharmacies often unfortunately and this one is definitely not operating in a safe, compassionate, or even professional way in my opinion. read more

I feel like whenever I go to another CVS or I check online...this is the only location that says its fully stocked. Makes for a much easier trip instead of driving around everywhere. Close, ghetto and carries Burt's Bee products at 50% less than Whole Foods too. VERY NICE STAFF! I come here dressed like I just fled a Board & Care facility after being 5150'ed by the PET Team. Then, babble to myself on the way in like I'm overdosing on Serraquel & Clonazepam as I pass the panhandling obnoxious individuals that do not take no for answer, dart my eyes back and forth like a Meth Addict then move like Jagger into the store. Once inside I run to the Burt's Bee's section, grab the Cranberry & Pomegranate and Honey & Shea Scrubs ( 2 of each ), look for some small travel items & toiletries and then, peruse very quickly the specials. And, as I approach the cashier I decline the CVS card ( unless I'm with Marty-He loves those points! ), pay and then start singing Rhianna's [ Rude Boy ] and mix in [ Push Up On It ]. Once home I pray for a safe landing, use the facial scrub put on some make up, tight pants an go back to PCH Hwy to make enough money for a nice meal at McDonald's! So, not a bad experience at all if you know how to play this type of piano-E-Flat! Also, I can deal with the elements within this geographic & demographic area but then again isn't that what adventure is all about or do you think Disneyland is for everyone? I think this CVS should stand for: Crime, Violence and Prevention! There is a reason why they close late! Wow, I don't normally give 1 or 2 star reviews unless it's a horrible store, but I'm not going to be timid about this review. Parking is adequate perhaps because the store is so terrible. This CVS is located (as many others have mentioned) on the corner of a very busy intersection. There are a TON of sketchy characters hanging outside the CVS. You can't even enter the store without someone asking if you can spare some change. Was here the other night with my sister picking up some medications she had to fill in the pharmacy department. We parked and walked towards the entrance. One questionable man came up to us and asked if we had any change, we said no and continued to walk into the store. The store itself is decently clean but could definitely use some work with their overall appearance. There was a line (probably about 3-4 people) and only one person at the register ringing up customers. I purchased an item from the beauty department but couldn't help but feel other customers passing by and looking at me up and down. I felt like I was being raped by their eyes. Seriously?! I was wearing sweats, no makeup. Once, I finished my selection, I waited in line for cash out. Even the cashier was giving me a weird and creepy feeling. Yuck, old man don't look at me with your predatory eyes! No thank you. As I am waiting in line for the register, I see the same man who tried to ask for change when we were walking in the store standing in front of the lottery machine about to buy a lottery scratcher with about 5 dollars in one dollar bills in his hand. Glad I didn't give him any money! Just an overall ghetto store with nothing really to leave me wanting more. I won't be back and I hope you close down. There is a reason why you guys are closed late! *This review is for the pharmacy only* I'm a Target gal, so you usually won't "cash me" inside a CVS. Your girl needed to fill an RX quickly. (Sinus infections are no joke). Anywho, I came here for the very first time and popped up to Victoria at her computer. She actually wanted to help me and took a bit of time to find me a suitable generic for my amoxicillin. I was having a super poop day, so her compassion really touched me. It's nice to know strangers will still go out of their way for you. I got my meds fairly quickly after that and Victoria had the pharmacist talk with me just in case I had any questions. I really appreciated both of their help. After coming straight from an urgent care, this pharmacy visit was a relief. read more

I only go to CVS to pick up my mother's prescriptions. The pharmacy used to be open during the entire business day and then they started shutting down from noon to one for their "lunch break"! Then it was changed to 12:30 to 1:00 so I had to adjust when I would go to pick up her prescriptions. Now it's changed again to 1:30 to 2:00. This is ridiculous! The only way to know when they go to lunch is the small print at the Pharmacy register 'hours of operation'. I don't know any business who wants to make money having all their employees go to "lunch" at the same time (well, government employees!!). The CVS at the corner of Stearns and Bellflower is a very busy pharmacy and should hire more employees so that they can go back to staggering their "lunch" breaks as they did before. I am not saying the employees shouldn't receive their break but the customer should be able to rely on the pharmacy to be open during normal business hours. It took me four visits to get one prescription. Not acceptable. read more

I don't know why I have kept using them but today was the last time. I know my Doctor and her Staff very well . Know that they place orders for Prescriptions to be filled yet we have discovered a black hole exists. Ninety percent of the time Staff at CVS tell me that the prescription wasn't called in. A necessary prescription was called in this morning and yet again at 3.30 I was told that they had no idea about it. Called the Doctor who said ....deep sigh ... yes it was placed this morning.. At 5:15 my husband was told they didn't have it ready and he would have to wait. Never again . I even forgave them when they gave me wrong drugs but this is the last straw. CVS I CAN'T BELIEVE CVS IS PRICE GOUGING DURING A PANDEMIC! I went online to try to find some Lysol and CVS was charging $10 for one can. I just went in to a CVS to buy distilled water for some medical equipment I use and they charged $1.89 PER GALLON! Even Whole Foods is over a dollar cheaper per gallon! I will not use CVS again for anything! What they are doing is disgusting and there are so many other places to buy the same stuff. Knocked and one of the employees looked at me and did a swiping motion across his neck basically saying "were closed". At approximately noon today, I visited this CVS to purchase some items before I returned to my mother's home in Crestline, CA. I had not previously visited this store. I am a fairly distinct looking person as I have short bright pink hair. I am also 5'5" and 135 pounds. (Lost 40 pounds this year - doing the $10K challenge at healthywage.com). I shopped around the store for about a half hour and had a fair bit of stuff to purchase. I then visited the ladies' room and since there was not a sign posted, I thought it was acceptable to take my future purchases into the restroom. Upon exiting the restroom, I was confronted by an Asian woman with long brown/auburn hair and her associate, a man with short black hair. She told me I was not allowed to go into the restroom with merchandise. I said if that is the store policy then it should be posted prominently as customers should not be expected to know store policies. I then said you may check the restroom as well as my person, jacket, and purse. Today I am wearing black leggings, a gray t-shirt with playing card spades on it, a blue and white ski jacket, and black boots. She then accused me of stealing the Monster beverage that I had purchased about five minutes before entering the store at the nearby gas station. I told her to check the videotape as she would see this is not the case. The discussion escalated, and she was screaming at me while calling the cops and accusing me of being aggressive. I told her I have a large social media following (4,000 Twitter followers) and that I make a good deal of money per month and therefore have no reason to steal from anyone. She refused to give me her name, her associate's name, the manager's name, or the store information and said she was not required to (I will have to ask my uncle, an attorney, about this). The store employee then accused me of stealing from her store on several previous occasions. I indicated that I have never been to that particular CVS before, she accused me of lying. This was in front of 30 - 40 customers today. She said loss prevention would call me to review videotapes (she took no personal info from me). I told her she should not be working in customer service with her aggressive personality, and that there are plenty of jobs where you don't have to interact with the public at all. (I work exclusively online presently.) I told her I was an MSPA Gold-Certified Mystery Shopper for over a decade, she didn't seem to care. She did not tell me the supposed shoplifter's name, who apparently I look like. She asked why I was in Torrance, I said I stayed overnight on my way to my mother's home. Although I am certain none of the customers believed her accusations, if even one did, I am deeply embarrassed even though I did nothing wrong. I believe she and her associate should not be in supervisory positions in a customer service setting. I have to say the pharmacist, Carlos Ayala, has always treated my family and I with respect. Carlos is always so respectful, has lots of patience, and giving the best costumer service with every encounter We have with him.
