I always come to this CVS location, and Lenor and Izzy consistently provide great customer service. They are friendly, helpful, and patient especially when I have questions about where items are located. They always welcome me and make the experience pleasant. Today, I visited again and saw both Lenor and Izzy, and once again they were very kind--not just to me, but to other customers as well. On the other hand, there was another employee wearing a flannel and a Christmas hat who seemed rushed and did not acknowledge me. She was also using her phone on Christmas Day while the other employees were working. I'm writing this review specifically to recognize Lenor and Izzy. CVS Pharmacy, Do something about your pharmacy drive thru window, or at least paint a lane showing cars to make a line for drive thru pick up by the other entrance so that they stop blocking the entrance and creating a huge jam and blocking almost all front parking. Or cancel all drive thru if you don't have the space for it because the honking and swerving other cars just to park is ridiculous. read more

They need to close the time it says on internet or at least explain why they close at 9:50pm without an attitude. They closed earlier than 10:00 pm and I asked the manager when she was letting the security out and she was disrespectful and unprofessional and didn't even say sorry or anything just gave a smirk. Plus ignored me. Honestly customers don't deserve that . If that is allowed by the company to close at 9:50 pm then explained that instead of ignoring your customer and being rude . I work at a market and we respect our customers and we closed at 10pm like it states on our website . We don't ignore our customers or smirk at them . Then another manager said she didn't like that I said whatever to the other manager and that she's clocked out and she can talk to me however she wants . I just said whatever bc I'm upset and the manager didn't give a valid reason and didn't care what I was saying . This is only for yesterday's experience. I tried to get some allergy medication for my baby, and he wanted a toy when I was self checking out. The security guy kept looking at me since I was looking for the allergy pills and even after I paid out the medicines. When I noticed the toy, I self checked out again. The security guy came and told me to put the toy back. I told him I already bought it and he said: really? did you pay? I showed him the receipt and he still looked at us as if we are trying to take it without paying. I do not know if he discriminates us or only had a bad day, but this shall not be tolerated. I've always loved shopping at CVS, but my recent experience has left me disappointed, so I am considering switching to the Eagle Rock location. During a visit, there was a mix-up, and when I tried to resolve it, the store manager accused me of calling her staff liars. Her tone was harsh and unprofessional, which was surprising and upsetting. No effort was made to problem-solve or treat me with respect. This makes me question if the manager's approach reflects how customers are valued at this pharmacy. The sweetest, loveliest woman worked as security for this location ever since I moved into the area. She was one of the few bright aspects of the store. Have not seen her there the past few visits and I stopped attending the store since. The best employee in the pharmacy also fronts an incredibly excellent food truck (tacos Sinaloa) and I prefer to see him there lol. The few aspects I liked about this location are disappearing. I see less and less of the friendly/familiar faces I've grown accustomed to interacting with, and have seen them replaced with depressed teenagers who get passive aggressive every time I ask a question. I've seen too many of the pharmacy techs touch computer screens and then meds without washing hands or even putting on gloves in-between. My estrogen prescription was incorrectly filled and I unknowingly was injecting medication that was 2x as strong (10% vs 20% solution) for almost a month before my doctor caught it. It threw my hormones though a loop and affected all aspects of my health as a result. This place needs to either tighten up or close down. read more

The pharmacists and techs at this CVS are wholly incompetent. Every single time I go there, my prescriptions aren't ready or there is some other issue. I've tried to pick up the same med for two weeks, my doctor has faxed the prescription to them four times and every time they can't find it in the system, today my doctor called it in while I was standing there and they still had an issue. When I asked for my prescriptions to be sent to another CVS, they told me I needed to go there to transfer my prescriptions and then wait, when I know they can do it on their end. The line is always, always 800000 people long because they take ages to do anything. My patience is gone with this place. Send your meds literally anywhere else. read more

This is a review for the pharmacy. I have never been treated with such disrespect after being a customer to this branch for the past 9 years. The manager LISA FATEMI is unprofessional, incompetent and just plain rude. I truly think she needs medical attention because she is unhinged. She should be ashamed at how she treats the community and ashamed of the way she conducts herself in front of her staff and customers. They all look mortified as she embarrassed not only herself, but them as well with her poor attitude and disgusting behavior.Last week, She refused to refill my son's medication in order to breathe properly and now due to their mistake we are without his medication that he is in dire need of. We're being told that they refilled three pumps, but in fact only refilled one. She then proceeded to shout at me that we can pay $400 out of pocket if we needed it "that bad." I think she is running a scam because this is the second time this has happened. Where they say they refilled a medication, but in fact shorted me and demand we pay out of pocket. She then says she has video proof of them handing me a bag through the drive thru window but refuses to show any type of video or picture showing the medication was given or even in the bag. I went in again today for a mistake on medication . I was supposed to be given a 90 day supply and was only given a 10 day supply and charged the full amount. She then makes excuse on why they can't fix the order even though I showed proof of their mistake. She then refused to help me and another employee stepped in. He repeatedly told her he was unsure how to fix the problem and if she could please just help. I asked her for the corporate number to complain about her behavior, she shouted "1-800-Shop-CVS" and then proceeded to ask me if I needed her to "spell it" for me. She then turned to a co-worker and laughed at her own comment as if this is some sort of high school childish atmosphere and not an establishment that should be servicing the community with their health needs. I can't believe this is a person you have representing your branch. Shame on you CVS! .When I told her she will not speak to me that way, she called the security to have me escorted out. Which he did not because even he said she was unprofessional. I will be transferring my business to another CVS and telling others to do the same! 08/30/2020 update I came in early this morning and Jose helped me out. I had coupons and they were t working correctly, he tried ringing me up 3 times and it wasn't working (his POS was frozen when I went up to check out so maybe that had something to do with it?), I went to self check out and coupons applied but when I tried to pay it gave me issues so he tried to ring me up again. It still gave us some issues but most of the coupons were attaching thankfully. He was very polite and patient with me, especially since it was very early in the morning. Thank you for your help! Last Review: I came in today and was rung up by Alejandro and Diana. They were both very helpful when it came to ringing me up and having an issue with my coupons. Alejandro gave me a rain check after checking for the beauty bag that's advertised on the weekly ad. Diana was very kind and patient when 2 coupons didn't scan for my transaction. Huge thank you to Alejandro (looks to be the store manager perhaps?) and Diana. It seems like no mater what time it is, there is always just one cashier at all times which creates a hectic line. They do have self check out but I prefer to go to a human in case there is an issue with the price. This is not any of the employees fault, they do the best they can especially during these hard times. Also, there is an older Hispanic female whose always on register and she is super sweet, I saw a customer be extremely rude to her and this employee kept her cool and handled the situation with a calm and level head attitude. The customer was very very rude and border line racists and the employee handled it without even letting it get to her. Props to her! I used to come here all the time because I lived two blocks away, now that I live on the other side of town I realize how glad I am that this is no longer my local CVS. The service is horrible, the lines are long, and some of the selection is not the best. The only really positive thing is that the parking doesn't totally suck and it is convenient if you live in highland park. I hate that the lines are always long and that they only ever seem to have one cashier that is also manning the self service terminals so it gets packed. I also feel very intimidated or like they think I am trying to steal something because the security guard is always walking around and looking at what I am doing-like trying to pick out a birthday card. Plus, if they make a mistake, forget about it being their fault-they swear there did thing right and will give you the worst attitude in the world-which you might think isn't possible after having began with such dapper people to begin with. Don;t even try the manager-if you get the female one you are better off just walking out of the store. Personally, I like the CVS's that are on york and the one near the super A on Eagle Rock Blvd. I think they have better customer service and better selection/variety of products. Plus they don;t have so many service people that look like those horrible scenes in movies where they have unhappy workers mindlessly doing things. read more

This location is OK... decently stocked. I have to say I usually drive to Pasadena to visit the Arroyo CVS as it is better stocked and more up-to-date. When I don't feel like hitting the 110, I visit this store and usually find what I need. This CVS is a little run down and needs some cosmetic improvements like fresh carpet and general updating. Parking can be a chore. read more

The security guard at this location is an absolute joke! He made a customer cry right in front of everyone, all because he wouldn't allow this customer to use the shopping cart to take her purchase to her vehicle! I mean, come on, really? He literally put hands on the cart to stop this young lady, to which she became visibly upset.. This occurred on Friday afternoon, the security guard was an older tall black gentleman who did not act very gentlemanly! He vehemently protested the customers request to take the cart with her purchase out to her car & refused to help her load her things in lieu of the cart. Is this the kind of professionalism to be expected of CVS? I saw the lady walk back in and talk to the manager on duty, she seemed to be familiar to this store, which is all the more reason this fiasco shouldn't have happened.. I hope corporate pays attention to unjust situations like this; there were not even any other carts for this customer to use! One cart for the whole store seems ridiculous! What this store needs to do is provide more carts and send this jackass security guard tom sensitivity training! read more

PHARMACY IS DISCRIMINATORY. I want to detail an experience I had back in March. I know this is months later but honestly the whole experience was so frustrating that I couldn't put it into words at the time. It has come to my attention that others have experienced racism here, so I felt the need to share. My sister had knee (ACL and meniscus) surgery and I was her caretaker as she recovered. Due to the type of surgery, she was prescribed serious pain medications by her doctor. Her nurse gave me very specific instruction as to how much to give her and how often, and emphasized to me that I must make sure I have the prescriptions picked up and ready because she WILL absolutely need them, especially in the first week. When I went in person to drop off the prescription initially, because of the nature of the drugs, the clerk had to get approval from the pharmacist. The pharmacist came over and told me that it would be ready at a certain time. Came back and picked it up, no problem. My sister's nurse gave her a refill shortly after, as based on the schedule we discussed, she knew she would be out. When I came back to drop the other prescription, the same pharmacist came over and said,"Weren't you the same girl that was just here trying to pick up the same medication?" It was very accusatory in nature and I was not comfortable with it, but I understood that maybe based on the nature of these drugs he had to double check. I said yes, and explained to him my situation: my sister had just had knee surgery and the doctor prescribed this and I'm simply her caretaker here to pick up her meds. He said okay and told me it would be ready the next day. The next day when I tried to come, not only was I surprised to find he lied and that I could not pick up her prescription, but that it was because he had flagged her in the system. WHY, if he really was suspicious, did he not call the DOCTOR who had prescribed the medication, to verify? Instead, he just flagged us without saying a word. Not only did I waste my time that time by coming in and it not being available, but I was told to come back again, and again, and again with nothing. It went on for weeks. I was on the phone and left on hold. Finally when another pharmacist actually spoke to me, she justified it all by saying they were just concerned about my sister taking too much. Since when are they the doctors deciding what is best for a patient based on looking at me over the counter? Again, I understand that with the nature of these drugs they need to be precautious, but a call to the doctor would have cleared it up. When I said we would go to another pharmacy, she told us that we are already flagged in the system and that it wouldn't make a difference. My sister ended up going days without the pain medication her doctor prescribed. We were in tears and beyond frustrated. Not only am I a young woman of color, but I remember being very dressed down, as I'd spent sleepless nights and early mornings between work and being a caretaker for my sister, who obviously couldn't do anything for herself just after surgery. I was absolutely judged and made out to be suspicious based on my appearance. In reading the other comments here, it's clear that this location has racist employees and based on other complaints in other CVS pharmacies, it is clear that CVS at the corporate level has no problem condoning such behavior, even when it threatens their patients' health and well-being. read more

This pharmacy is engaged in a criminal enterprise with a scum-bag towing company called Metro Towing. I parked in their empty back parking lot at about 7:45 PM. I stopped briefly in another business and then went to the CVS to buy cold medicines. When I came out my car had been towed. I was charged $372 to get the car out of the impound lot. The pharmacy manager said that they towed cars within a half hour! The lot was empty! This is inexcusable and no way to treat a customer who has done business with CVS for many years. I will never do business with this chain again! read more
