I brought my son's Specialized bike in for a basic brake bleed. The rear brake wasn't working due to air in the line. I was recommended into upsells for new parts. I declined and asked for just the bleed, but when I picked the bike up the rear brake now stopped just fine but was extremely squeaky and the shop immediately suggested I "needed new pads," When it is likely that the squeak is from brake fluid contamination on the pads from the work performed. These pads were barely a year old with light use. After the service, both brakes actually performed worse than before. The squeak did not go away, and now the front brake has lost all pressure entirely, making the bike unsafe to ride. I'm now having to take the bike to another shop just to get the brakes working properly again. This was a very disappointing experience. read more

I have recently become a Yelp "Accessible" user and I was having trouble with my both my hand breaks on my wallker, Yup! Not a bike but a walker. I went to my usual bike shop ( yes I can still ride a bike) and they couldn't fix the breaks. I called around and again it was something they weren't familiar with. I attempted to have it fix with the DME (Durable Medical Equipment) company but I would have to go through the steps of filling out a claim, returning it, wait to see if it gets approved, return it etc etc etc.... that would not be practical for me. So driving to my moms I spotted the new bike shop to the area and figured what can I lose but time by asking. I explained that both my hand brakes weren't working anymore and asked if it was something they could do or attempt to fix. The counter clerk guy said to leave it and they would take a look, quoted me $15 for each hand break side.... Heading forward to two days and I had yet not heard back from anyone from the shop, so my husband and I drove over to follow up. They had gone ahead and fixed them and we paid $30 for the service. I was really thrilled because now I wouldn't be scared to go down to my parking garage that is located on the hillside of our home. Again head forward a two weeks later and the right side break stopped working again. I was annoyed since this is not just a walker for me but it's meant to secure me and give me stability when I walk. I was pleased that they did attempt to fix it for me considering I was having such a hard time to find a service place for me, I was not pleased that they never called me to follow up, that they just went ahead to fix it for me without my approval and of course the fact it stopped working. I already have a great bike service shop so I was really hoping this would be my DME shop. Oh well! read more

Brought over my ebike wheel to install new tube and tire, no fuss, $20 since I brought all of my own parts. Aram was attentive and used respectful language, and kept me up to date with progress of work, and techs were also friendly and helpful, although tried to upsell me. That's normal though, since they need to keep the business going. I will support them by continuing to get service done there for our two ebikes. In South Pasadena where I live and work, practically no bike shop services ebikes, unless you buy the ebike from them. The second time I did walk-in service (the next day), I needed help with putting in Flatout on the same tire since I wasn't able to force Flatout into the valve stem by crushing the applicator bag per the instructions. They quickly added Flatout sealant into the tube, and I even bought a Park Tool branded frame pump to replace my bulky manual pump at home. I live all the way in South Pasadena, and since no bicycle shop, ebike, or electric scooter shop in my area services ebikes (not bought from the same shop), I have no option other than to bike 7 miles away to get service. Wish I lived closer to Cycle City! read more

I purchased a brand new eBike from here and had an awesome experience. Saw a bike I was really interested in online and reached out to the owner, Adam about it. He answered all of my questions and was very kind and helpful. The shop was clean and very nice with plenty of accessories options. After I picked some out, they installed them all on my new bike for free. He walked me through how to use the bike and offered to let me test ride. Jonathan the technician went above and beyond to fix the problems and now my bike rides than it did when I first got it. This is the only bike shop I will be going to in the future. I needed a solid tune-up for my road bike, as well as some clip-on lights. I called ahead of time to get a quote, and the mid-tier tune-up (which I needed) was very reasonably priced at I believe $90. When I got into the store, it was very neat, organized, and air conditioned! The man at the counter was kind and patient as I inquired about the bike lights, and he even removed the three options from their boxes to show their features. I picked one, which he set aside for when I came back to get my bike. They called the next day to say my bike was ready! When I received my bike, it looked great! (Washed :)) To my pleasant surprise, he added the bike lights too! I paid easily and then the employee helped lift the bike into my trunk. When I rode my bike later that day, I was shocked by how great it felt. I had been mainly concerned about truing a wheel, and the tune-up went beyond my expectations.
