Brian was happy to order it at the same price as any other retailer was offering it (better than some, actually) and gave me a realistic time frame for it to be delivered and assembled along with the rack and panniers I ordered. Great local bike shop! This is the same Cycle World that was previously on Reseda Bl. several years ago but at a different location. From my understanding it was owned by the original owner, sold to someone else, then later sold back to the original owner. This location is in a strip mall, is much larger and has a large parking lot. It is now a Giant (brand) dealer. I visited here on a Monday for a very minor rotor adjustment on my Sworks road bike since I wanted it adjusted asap and my normal shop was closed. I called before my visit to find out what the turnaround time and cost would be. Turnaround time was same-day. And the cost was reasonable. Upon arrival, I met with Steve and showed him what I wanted corrected. He assured me that it was an easy fix and he would call me upon completion. Within a few hours, I received the phone call and picked up my bike with the issue resolved! Great service! As for the shop, it was well stocked (with Giant bikes, equipment and gear), organized and clean. I will definitely visit again! read more

Brian and Steve both helped me find the bike for my budget, and helped me adjust the bike I was looking for to fit my size (thinking outside the box). My wife & I wanted to get my son a 'big kid bike' for his 6th birthday. We had passed Cycle World a few times in the past so we decided to give them a shot. We're so glad we did! We had excellent, personalized service. You could tell the gentleman helping us was not only knowledgeable but passionate about biking. He took the care to talk to my son about what color he wanted & have him try a few bikes to get the one that would best fit him (we were surprised that he fit a much larger size than we expected. We were told it's great because now he'll have most time to grow in to it & we wouldn't have to replace the bike so soon as if we had gone with the next size down). After the bike was picked out, they took the time to get the training wheels on & even told me it was best to get the cheaper attachments since we (hopefully) wouldn't be needing them long enough to justify the more expensive option. In all, it was just such an enjoyable experience. There were 3 workers there & they all came out to help out & talk with all of our kids. It was just such a pleasant experience. I know I keep saying that, but I just really want to hammer it in. Never once did we feel pressured to buy something or like we were getting upsold on things that weren't really needed. I have needed to replace the tube in my bike for years. I will absolutely be taking it here for that. And once my son grows out of the training wheels we will be back for a kickstand. And when our younger son grows out of his older brother's balance bike, we'll be back for his first bike. I really think we are going to be customers for life. read more

Sorry, it took four really disappointing visits for me to finally write a review. My 60 year old, 120 pound girlfriend rides her bike, two Sundays per month recreationally on paved paths. This is a bike brand the shop sells and recommends. Our first visit was simply to repair a flat tire, which turned into us, requiring a high-end tire, liner, and heavy duty tube. Then Steve pointed out several other things that should be addressed, all of them expensive. Let me stress again this is a bike used two Sundays per month by a 120 pound woman recreationally on a paved path. Next we hear that the derailer is bent, the chain is stretched and needs to be replaced. The bike needs a set up , and on and on. After the chain is replaced, the bike begins throwing the chain multiple times on every ride! Steven and his son claim "well it's a pretty bumpy path." Again, she is 120 pounds and this is a paved path. She is not mountain biking, or jumping the bike or anything of the sort. In fact, Steve tried to sell me the same brand on one of our visits. I am a very strong 285 pound man. Using his logic, this brand of bike would be turned into a pretzel with one trip across the parking lot. If my little girlfriend is bending the cranks and stretching this chain on her little recreational rides, I would most certainly turn the bike into a pretzel with a single ride. I told Steve that's just simple physics and logic. He of course disagreed. I've come to the conclusion that either he does not know what he's doing when it comes to bike repair or he just wants to sell parts at a premium. Because his explanations are simply illogical now she has a bike that throws the chain constantly after spending a lot of time at his shop replacing expensive parts. I would not recommend his shop to anyone. Fast talking and money hungry....not at all interested in making his customers happy and solving problems. Instead he treats the customers like they are stupid and just don't have the capacity to understand. Ridiculous and very condescending! read more

My husband had gotten the bike at Target and I'd gotten two years out of it so I decided it was time to invest in a better bike. Checked out a few places to buy an entry level road bike. Another shop I visited only had current model Trek bikes which were nice but starting at $899, a bit out of my desired price range. I have a "high end" bikes. I read about Cycle World here on Yelp and decided to give them a try. I am very glad I did. Steve and Brian are both personable and knowledgeable. I had them do one of their tune ups on one of my bikes and I can honestly say I was never more pleased with the result. It was quiet, smooth, shifted perfectly and actually coasted downhill 3 mph faster on my favorite downhill after they serviced my wheel bearings.
