The staff at this shop is what makes this place stand out. In all times I've been there for small things, big things, or just advice they are always friendly and willing to spend time to help. There aren't many motorcycle gear shops around Memphis so I make it a point to support them and purchase from them whenever I can. The store has a good selection of helmets and a reasonable selection of gear covering different styles (i.e. sport, cruiser, motocross). The price/quality of the in-store gear fits the entry to mid-level range. As much as it would be nice to see a broader diversity or higher end stuff it probably does not make sense given the shop space and local market. Despite the limited in-store selection they are able to order pretty much anything and have it delivered to home or shop for free. Being a sister company to a large online retailer orders placed at Cycle Gear are likely handled by the same distribution network and with the same speed. I arrived at this Cycle Gear 10 minutes prior to closing. The staff were very helpful and weren't rude when we kept them till 20-30 minutes past closing. We made a trip to get my son some riding gear for his dirtbike. Let me tell you this, If you are ever in the market for quality gear and need it to fit correctly...A Cycle Gear is the place to go. I've been to many across the country and the company as a whole has been very good to me. Fitment is key! I will shop here every time I'm in the area. I wish it were closer to me, I have to drive 2.5 hours one way. The store is cramped with gear, smaller place than the ones I've been to in the Birmingham area and the two in Las Vegas. I will be making a trip to hit Gus's fried chicken and to Cycle Gear again soon. I literally am driving 5 hours round trip for both of those in one day. read more

This is a great store. The selection is by definition a bit limited (the store's only so big, duh), but I much prefer trying on gear in person than ordering online (though they have a pretty extensive website too). What really makes the difference for me is the people who work here. They go above and beyond just pointing out where stuff is and have spent ample time talking to me about gear, riding, and giving advice to me, a novice rider. I spent quite a bit of time picking out my helmet, and they were super patient with me, picking ones to try, discussing the differences between them, and letting me process the fact that I was about to spent an obscene amount of money (but really, can you put a price on your head?). Ditto for jackets -- I stopped by recently to try some on and got some really good advice on what to look for, with no pressure to buy, either on the spot or from Cycle Gear at all. As I mentioned above, the narrow selection can be a little frustrating in some categories (no luck on a jacket as of yet), but can also be helpful -- when confronted with the approximately 5,000 helmets available on Amazon alone, I had no idea where to start, so it was nice to have a decent, but limited pool of options at the store. Every time I come here I leave happy. The staff is friendly and extremely helpful. They will research what you and your bike want to make sure you're getting everything right. First time at this store today and it was good experience. I'm new to biking and my friend recommended I check this place out for some gear. The associate that helped me was named was Sam. He was very friendly and answered all my questions with great knowledge. Even ordered my boots online for me and had em shipped to my crib‼ The store selection is limited as far as clothing but there is a huge selection of helmets from low end to top of the line. I've probably bought $1000 worth of gear in this store. One reason I buy local is the convenience and ability to see, and try-on what I'm looking for. Never walked into the store without the employees asking if they can help me. If I say I'm 'just looking' they go about their business until I need to ask about something. They carry the best in motorcycle clothing and helmets. . . having something shipped in in another color or size is no problem and no extra shipping charge. Nice prices on tires and will steer me to a 'special' if they have one going; also mounting is free and I've never had a rim bent or scratched. All in all, much better experience than our local motorcycle dealerships. I also had occasion to visit a Cycle Gear store in Huntsville, AL while attending a BMW rally and found the same level of efficiency and selection of gear there but then so was the bike dealership there on Memorial Parkway down the street although C.G. still had them beat on accessory and bike clothing prices. read more

07/31/2013 My experience with cycle supply is my last. I purchased on 05/30/2013 2 michelin tires and tubes for around $500.00. After waiting 12 days for the tires to arrive and be installed. You have to pay for the tires on the front end so theres incentive for fast service. On 7/30/2013 I took the rear tire in with a small nail in the tire. I requested they install a new tube and balance the tire. The guy running the tire guy refused to do it. He told me I need to take the tire some where else for repair. He quoted me some reason of companey libality for repairing tires. I drove1 block down the street to Motercycle express lube and they gladly accepted my tire and my bussiness. I won,t ever do bussiness wit cycle gear again. I belong to a club of cycle guys and I will relate my experienct to them,. Also I work for a small fly by night express company in Memphis. We have an electronic information board that employes can voice their experiences and opinions of a company for all 250,000 employes to see. This I will do soon.
