I emailed Jerry and asked if he'd be able to powder coat some small pieces for some DIY amplifiers I was building. He said he would, and I went into the shop to talk pricing. His prices for a candy coat was more reasonable than other shops I'd talked to, and he turned them around in a very short time. They look really great! I've used cycle house a few times. I bought a used cbr that needed some fresh tires and they had them in stock at the store. They gave me a great deal on the tires and they mounted them over the weekend. They even lubed my chain and recommended I get it replaced in the next thousand miles. I came back another time for a question about an oil pressure light/sensor. They were booked two weeks out but Jerry was nice enough to print me out an oem diagram and a list of part numbers so I could get started by myself. The crew here is absolutely phenomenal. Hands down. I rode in from Chicago on my trip down Route 66, and I has some bolts break off in the fender frame.. so I had to figure out to how to get this fixed before I continued my trip. They were able to take my bike in that morning and fix her up that day. All of the gentlemen working there were so warm and inviting. You can tell they really care about their work and their clients. So this is a response to the gentleman that had a problem with Riley our dog in the shop. Riley is one of the sweetest laid back dogs you can find. We know that not everyone is a fan of animals. If someone is afraid or does not want to deal with a dog all you have to do is call we would place Riley in another room for you. We have people stop in to just see and play with Riley. We have parents that make a special trip so their children can play with Riley. The "Unfriendly" Dog? Really? OK, first, this is the shop mechanics use, and recommend. When I went to a car mechanic for an inspection, he steered me here, because he uses it for his bike stuff. I just wanted a check over, since I discovered the guy I'd bought my bike from was dishonest, and I wasn't terribly familiar with some things about my new bike. They did what I asked, even had the decency not to laugh at me for not having checked the tire pressure... They also made a few adjustments (a couple of which I should have made myself - lame me) that has the bike performing Next Level better. And they reassured me that it is, overall, running just as it should. I appreciated that. Much as it might have made me feel like a noob to ask, I needed that peace of mind before a long road trip. Now, for the so-called unfriendly dog: As soon as I rode up, she ran from window to window to greet me. It's rare to find a shop dog, seeing strangers all day, still happy to greet new ones. Given how delightful she was to me, I asked the owner if the person who'd left other review had called inside. He struck me as a decent dog owner, and like every decent dog owner, he would have happily confined his dog to accommodate someone who was afraid. But no one had called. Just they were all surprised with this bad review. I then thought I'd take a photo showing her docile and friendly to counter the other review.... This didn't work out quite as planned: all the attention got her so happy she started running and dancing about with her toy. The owner, Jerry, told her to sit still. She did... and then as soon as allowed her to do so, started running in a big circle and playing with her squeaky toy again. So my photos are either running dog or dog waiting to run. I just wanted one of her wagging her tail at me, which she'd been doing before she got all excited about the attention. In short, she's a very friendly dog, the kind you're glad to encounter if you're at all a dog person. But if you're afraid, they seemed very understanding. **Writing this for a friend who doesn't have an account** Has used them quite a few times. Owner of the shop is honest and usually gets better prices (install included) then you'd find on your own. There is not a lot of retail items but they can usually order whatever you want or need. The work they've done on the bikes is top-notch. I can't think of a single place I'd trust taking my bike to. One of the greatest things about these guys... they aren't the Harley jerks who stick their nose up at anything less than a $50k 5000CC bike with minimal orange and black. After speaking to them on the phone I came by to make a purchase. Imagine my surprise when I was met at the door by a large unfriendly dog! I don't know who's dog it was but no one was around to control the animal. I know better then to mess with someone else's dog so I left the shop. I would recommend finding somewhere else to shop. Unfortunately, I was referred to this shop by a friend with a newer bike. It seems they must do great work on easy repairs and tuning up modern fuel injected bikes according to what I've heard and read elsewhere online. Again, unfortunately with my bike, these guys seemed uninterested, sometimes clueless, and didn't show much desire at all to make my bike work for me. I don't fix bikes, and know nothing about them. When I take a bike to a repair shop I expect the people there to be willing and able to fix bikes. Like, can I take this thing out and not get stuck when you're done with it, please? My bike, a 1978 KZ650, it sat in their shop from March 4-July 24. Almost five months!? Their duty was to get it going after it sitting for a couple years in my garage. Some carb cleaning/tuning/jetting, installing a brand new amazing exhaust system, getting my electric starter working, and making the bike start in a reliable manner seemed to be some of the most difficult tasks these guys have ever came across. At one point at around 4 months in I stopped in the shop to see what the hold up was and all the mechanics actually had an awkward powwow right in front of me about what they hadn't been doing to fix my bike. I couldn't believe my eyes listening to them game plan that far into the game. Guess what fellas, the game was already over and at point, and you'd fallen far far behind. And so my wallet. $600 dollars in mostly labor later, I was stuck out at 3a on the first day I picked it up. I have no desire to even waste any more time here ever again. And yet I have to waste more of my time on this review. Sad to say they earned it though. The owner and staff seemed nice and helpful, but how in the world could you, as a business owner, hold someone's bike that long and not make it run for them? That's when reviews like this happen. Such a magical story of fail, isn't it? In closing, I'm not going to diss their game on newer bikes, but if you have an older bike with carbs, stay far away from this place. read more

Had an engine valve cover that I needed powder coated, which wasn't going to be an easy job at all. It had a lot of old paint and powder coating on it and would need to be thoroughly cleaned and blasted. The owner helped me pick out a color for it and got to work. They were mistakenly sent the wrong color powder coat from their supplier so the owner let me know about it and was upfront. Worked out well though because we ended up going with a different color. My valve cover was done the next day and it looks awesome. The owner seems like a super nice and down to earth gentleman and even gave me a discount because of the 1 day delay. If you need any parts powder coated I would definitely recommend this shop. The price I paid was almost half what I was quoted from a couple different places in the area. The quality of the work is outstanding. And one of the best parts of visiting the store is seeing their store dog Riley. She seems to be a very sweet natured and well behaved girl. I've been using these guys for all my motorcycle needs for about 3 years now. I buy and sell bike as a hobby so the get a decent amount of work from me. They are great!! The other day one of my stollen bikes was found and I called Jerry and he had 2 of his guys rush to the scene and they picked my bike up and brought it back to the shop to fix the repairs the thief did to it. Seeing as how other reviews for this place have been unfavorable, I thought I would share my experience. Any self respecting motorcyclist should be able to do basic maintenance like oil changes, that being said however, I have had Cycle House rebuild the carbs on my 89 Honda Hurricane. I was genuinely pleased with the service, turn around time and advice from Jerry. Since then, I have upgraded to a newer Sv650 and took the bike in for a once over. Again, very pleased with the service, The shop itself is welcoming yet is bare bones and does not carry too much inventory but I usually buy specific motorcycle stuff online anyway. They also do dyno tuning if you are trying to fine tune a supersport/ track bike. I have had my CBR up on the dyno just to see how it was running after the carb rebuild and was very pleased that the power and torque outputs were fairly close to when the bike rolled out of the factory. Another review mentioned the dog being unfriendly and that is absolutely poppycock, the dog is sweetheart and is very playful and friendly. He will usually keep to himself unless you approach him.Having been to a few other motorcycle shops, their labor rate is among one of the cheapest in the city at $88.50 per hour. I would recommend Cycle House for your motorcycle needs, big or small. read more

Jerry and crew do an awesome job on old or new motorcycles. I bought an old Kaw and after calling five shops, and being scoffed at, I called Cycle House and Jerry said they'd get my machine running like a top. They certainly did!! I've now enjoyed two years of solid riding, have even rolled the ol' boy all the way to KC and back with no problems! Their dog is super sweet too, she's about as harmless as they get.
