For the record, Dave Clark is knowledgeable, experienced, accommodating, easy to talk to and fair. He helped me with a wheel-related problem I was having (there being no long-standing Guzzi shops in the region) and did so quickly and for a song. I would go back in a heartbeat.

I called the day before to bring my Honda ST1300 and Corrie stated I could bring it the next day at 9 am, which was great. Corrie replaced the front and rear tires. Also, he noticed that the rear brake pads were worn out so I told him to go ahead and replace them. I thought I had checked the rear brake pads, however, I was mistaken and they were worn out. I had replaced the front brake pads myself a month before. Corrie did an excellent job replacing the rear brake pads and the front and rear tires. I would have been in trouble if he did noticed that my rear brake pads were so worn out. Thanks Corrie! Thank you Corrie in finding out my rear brake pads were worn out because I thought I had checked the rear brake pads when I replaced the front brake pads last month. It's because I just turned 59 years old is my excuse. LOL

I brought a bike here for inspection and was turned away due to no blinkers (not required in the state of MO for vintage motorcycles) the guy just didn't want to be honest and didn't know how to do an inspection on a hardtail motorcycle and made sure to tell me how I was wrong but I went right down the road and got the bike inspected and was out the door in 10 minutes.

I had a bump in with a car and someone I know suggested I get a quote from them; they were recommended highly. There is a reason for that, they are really incredible not only in their work but their work ethic. It's not a huge shop, it is locally owner owned and Sean and Paul are about the best fellows there are to work with. No pressure, didn't talk over my head, didn't promise what couldn't be done...talked 'to me' not 'at me' being a lady in upper years and didn't walk in the shop with a man; Sean took his time explaining everything. Their shop is incredibly clean and bright. I don't say that lightly; there is a place for everything and the shop is kept remarkably clean. They are friendly, so very kind. They work with you and there is no bait and switch on the quote they give you. Honest and their work is without question, remarkable. They take tremendous pride in their reputation and it shows. Not only do they accomplish their magic on repairing vehicles, they repair motorcycles and they actually build motorcycles from the ground up for customers. It is truly amazing to be in their shop. I had my car delivered to me Sunday evening so I finally had it after being without wheels for a week. No phony sincerity, kindness and friendliness. Really nice fellows, clean and bright shop, very honest and talented. You'll be glad you gave them a call. Don't make the mistake and try someone else first.

I called Trailhead Bicycles and asked about service packages, service appointments etc. The young gentleman I spoke to was Ian (sp), he was extremely helpful over the phone explaining the service procedures and timeframe for service completions available. We decided after talking to Ian to drop our bikes off that day for an evaluation. We expected to leave our bikes and pick-up two weeks later. Upon arrival, Ian met us and did a quick review of our bikes, assessed my gear malfunction, gave us price quotes etc. Due to the well kept condition of our bikes, Ian decided he could service our bikes right then. We were so surprised, not at all what we expected! Long story, Ian performed a thorough review and service of our bikes and had us out of there within an hour - not two weeks as expected! Ian provided us peace of mind about the condition and operation of our bikes, he assured us our bikes are in great condition and safe for us to hit the trails! We received excellent service from the helpful, kind and courteous staff at this location - highly recommend. We will definitely take our bikes back to Trailhead Bicycles for regular maintenance and service. 5 Stars *****

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience at Trek Ballwin was extremely disappointing…read more I have owned Trek bikes for the past 30 years, which makes this experience even more frustrating. I brought in my nearly new $4,000 mountain bike after the rear brake stopped working during my first ride in Colorado. Before that trip, the bike had only been ridden for about one hour, and the ride in Colorado lasted only about 45 minutes before the rear brake failed. The entire purpose of this trip was to go mountain biking, and my very first ride was on black-rated trails. Losing my rear brake in that environment was not only incredibly frustrating but also dangerous. I was forced to rely almost entirely on my front brake while descending technical terrain, which is far from ideal and significantly increases the risk of crashing. Instead of enjoying the bike the way it was designed to be ridden, the brake failure essentially ruined the mountain biking portion of my vacation. At first, the service technician was helpful while inspecting the bike. After the inspection, though, I was told it needed both a brake bleed and a new chain, with the total coming to around $200 before applying our service voucher. I asked why a bike with less than two hours of riding would already need a new chain and why the brakes had failed in the first place. Instead of giving a clear explanation, the technician implied that we didn't know how to maintain the bike and insisted that I had ridden it much more than I said. When I asked if he was calling me a liar, he responded that he'd been doing this for a long time and could tell how much the bike had been ridden. He then said he could either help us or not help us. The entire conversation became condescending and unprofessional. I wasn't arguing about paying for legitimate repairs--I simply wanted an explanation for why such an expensive, lightly used bike needed them. Instead, I felt like I was being accused of lying and talked down to while the technician continued to make sarcastic remarks throughout the interaction. After this experience, I have no intention of buying another Trek bike. Between having a major brake issue on a bike with less than two hours of riding and then being treated disrespectfully when I asked reasonable questions, I left with very little confidence in both the product and the customer service. After 30 years of owning Trek bikes, I expected far better. This experience has completely changed my opinion of the brand and the way its customers are treated.
