Time to update this review as I officially became a member of CycleBar CV ! Woot ! I took advantage of their November special and membership deals that it was hard to pass up! The owner, Praful was very informative, helpful, and easy to communicate with regarding any questions I had. Currently, they offer outdoor rides based on County COVID-19 guidelines and I appreciate all the safety measures they are taking to ensure members feel comfortable and safe to exercise during this crazy time. If you're looking for a good endurance and adrenaline kicking workout, then try CycleBar CV. It's honestly my favorite cardio workout. It's easy on your body yet effective in keeping you in the best shape during these times. I love group workouts so this was a smart investment and I highly recommend you give it a try. All the instructors are professional, talented, motivating, and welcoming. My favs are Vivian and Kris, but you really can't go wrong with any of them. Everyone is genuinely nice and enthusiastic. It's honestly the best 45 minute ride! Fun and sweaty ! Who wouldn't want that ?! LOL The CycleBar app is user-friendly and I appreciate the reminders and updates I get. The availability times are also perfect for my schedule. The facility inside is beautiful and spacious. I can't wait until we can ride indoors again, because it's a whole different experience. OMG second ride at this Spin Studio! I was looking forward to the Avril Ride, however it got changed last minute. At first I was disappointed, but the instructor who subbed in had a "Groundhog Day" themed ride. It was absolutely fantastic! I love a good theme! I was cracking up when Linkin Park's "Shadow of the Day" song came up. Bravo. I cannot wait to sign up for more rides. read more

CycleBar Carmel Valley was ok as an option during the 'heavy COVID' months in 2020. A little hole-in-the wall business in Carmel Country Plaza (next to a pet store). Glossy color textured walls and video screens to charm the cheap and feeble-minded. But during 2020 all the classes were essentially held outside in an ugly parking lot out front. And the service is bad. Cycling shoes were not available at classes that I had reserved a whole week earlier, or were often in the wrong size (over and over again even though they have an 'amazing computer system'). The instructors were ok (some amazing and some not), and the classes are actual exercise, but the staff are just college-age serfs who do great at menial physical tasks like moving the bikes out to the parking lot every morning. In the beginning, Praful Shrivastava (the franchise owner) was already a bit overbearing (and boring) with his fake need-to-go-around-and-greet-every-single-person-before-class (it was as if he had learned about this in some B movie about a 'fancy' restaurant where the chef deigns to come out and walk around the tables - to make diners feel special); you know, the stuff that cheap people think is... fancy. Although in this case the guy could at least have made an effort to dress better and look a bit less like some street thug. And for someone with a supposedly 'personal' touch, he kept calling me random wrong names month after month (one would think if your name is as weird as 'Praful' you would totally know what it's like for people to mis-name you). After I quit my membership In June 2021, I just wanted to forget about this place and just move on with my life (I have better things to do). But he wouldn't stop harassing me. I quit on June 29th (after already not having gone for a couple weeks before that) and he still billed me $169 again almost a month later at the next monthly cycle on July 24 (he has a shady 'minimum 30-day cancelation notice' on his contract). So that's fine; it's in the contract and poor people need money desperately these days. But then on August 11th and 18th (and even today, August 25) he has kept sending collection emails for the $169 (plus fees), even though the July 24 payment had been made automatically on my credit card. Praful, I'm not here to support you; if you need welfare, that's with the City of San Diego. read more

I was invited to try out CycleBar Carmel Valley by a friend 3 years ago and fell in love with this studio. The cyclestar instructors are so friendly and make you feel welcome immediately. The studio itself is extremely nice with updated bikes and amenities (I love the ice cold towel provided at the end of each class). The classes always have the best music and each instructor motivates you to have your best ride possible. The themed rides are my favorite. :) You get an email after class that tells you all your stats from your ride so you can track your progress. I have a membership at another Cyclebar location. I saw this one seemed about the same distance from me, time wise (not milage wise), as the location I go to so I thought I'd give this location a try. I really loved the staff here and Izzy is a kick azz instructor. I heard Lindsay teaches here too, whom I love from my other location. All of the staff here was great and very welcoming. Bonus: They're about $5 cheaper a month than the location I have a membership with. I burned a lot more calories than I usually do... I think! The bike said 355 burned, but the email said just over 500... So I'll just assume it's the higher number for self glory. They had a lot of benches out by the lockers.
